So. Utterly. Disappointed. :( I had an appointment to see Tina yesterday evening after work. When I went in, I had multiple pictures of the color I was trying to achieve. The color would be considered an 'ash blonde', or even 'grey' with 'white(ish)' highlights with dark low lights. Tina proceeded to tell me that because my hair was dark, and had 2month-old box color on it, that she wouldn't be able to get it as light as the pictures, but it would be "CLOSE". I explained to her, in MULTIPLE WAYS, that while I was ok with it not being 'exactly' like the pictures, but I did NOT want yellow blonde. Let me repeat... I DO NOT WANT YELLOW BLONDE. I said it multiple times. Tina ASSURED me that she understood, and it would NOT be yellow. Guess what I got.... You guessed it... YELLOW blonde. Brassy yellow blonde. :/ At one point prior to starting the color, she was actually getting kind of 'lippy' about how she doesn't "like it when people bring in pictures because they are unattainable impossible styles and colors"... Um, WHAT? So... how did these people get it to look that way for the pictures??? Excuse me... I started to get up and leave... But, I didn't listen to my gut. I put my trust in her that she would NOT give me exactly what I asked NOT to have. I trusted her when she said it would be close to what I was asking. My trust was broken. And so, not only did she completely botch the hair color, she then rushed through the cut and style as I was the last appointment of the day. I honestly believe that she did not do what I was asking because it entailed a longer process than what she was willing to give. Or perhaps it is just lack of continuing education to keep up on the latest trends? I don't know. Either way, I didn't get anything close to what she promised. Instead I got EXACTLY what I SAID I DID NOT WANT. And to make matters worse, she was actually PROUD of her work. She boasted about how awesome of a job she did. She thought it was amazing.... I was so embarrassed and upset that I couldn't even say anything. I just wanted to leave. When she asked if I liked it, I just nodded and said I did, because I was too embarrassed to make a scene. I paid $170 for something I hate, and now I'm going to have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Which brings me to a couple things... One, she said she 'couldn't get it that light'... But she got it the lightest yellow you have ever seen. So my question is, if she could get it light yellow, WHY couldn't she get it light GREY... or light WHITE... or light ANYTHING OTHER THAN YELLOW? Did she not have the right color in stock? I don't know. Second, after crying all the way home, and after I got home, I posted on my page how completely upset I was and posted pics. A friend of mine recommended me to check out her stylist's page... I went to her page and the pics she has posted ARE PHENOMENAL. There are folks on there with BLACK hair that she dyed WHITE and they ALL look AMAZING. Heck she even took one chick's bright blue color and made it WHITE. She obviously has NO trouble achieving the colors that I asked for. So why was this such a problem for Tina? I still think part of it is lack of knowledge, but I really think the real problem was time. She didn't want to spend the time that was needed, so she gave me what she knows - and that was the same tacky yellow blonde that she has. Sigh. I wish I could get my money back. I have to go somewhere else now and pay money that I DON'T HAVE to spend, just to fix what she did. She should've just told me she CAN'T do it, instead of saying it would be "CLOSE". It's not close. Not even remotely. Unless you're color blind... Maybe that's the problem... Anyway, I guess my point is made. If you want whatever she is going to give you, then she is great. If you want something cool and trendy, then go somewhere else... And so, on a side note... While I sit here typing this review, one of my co-workers just came in and said "OMG what happened to your hair. Did you do that yourself"? She thought it was a BOX job done at HOME. And she's right. It looks terrible and i could've done this myself. If I could call in sick to work until I get it fixed, I would. :( When I called to speak to the manager/owner, the girl who answered the phone sounded ANNOYED that I had a complaint. She took my name and number, but nobody has bothered to respond. I also left a review (identical to this) on their Facebook page, but again, no response. read more

This is a shout out to Tina Craig at Salon Savoy. When my fiancée and I set a wedding date, I knew who was going to do our hair. When I contacted Tina to ask her, she was immediately excited about it. She arranged a whole crew to take care of us for hair and make-up that Saturday morning. She told us Lisa was going to do our make-up, Joan was going to do my fiancée's hair, and Tina's wedding present to me was going to be my hairdo. Tina was super excited and asked us so many questions, she wanted to make sure our hair and make-up would be exactly what we wanted. Tina asked to see pictures of our wedding dresses, what the wedding colors and theme were going to be, and what we were picturing for our hair. I told Tina I wanted my hair half up and half down and she thought that would look nice. Tina has known my hair for so many years, so I knew she could make something beautiful happen. She suggested we look at designer hair pins on Etsy or Amazon and maybe go with matching pins to tie the theme together. The wedding was at 3 pm, but our reveal was at 1 pm and we needed to be at the venue at noon to get ready. Tina and her crew were at Salon Savoy early Saturday morning to make our dream hair and make-up was going to be done on time. They were on point. Lisa took me first and did an incredible job with my make-up, she listened to what I wanted and made it a reality. Arlene had her hair done first with Joan, who also did an amazing job and Arlene was very happy with her hairdo, she incorporated some pins in her hair to later match the ones I would wear. Then we switched, my fiancée went to make-up and I went to Tina for my hair. Tina played around with the half up and half down style and her idea was perfect. She pinned up my hair with some of the same pins my fiancée had in her hair, then she curled all the strands of hair hanging down by my face and in the back. I could not believe how beautiful it was, I felt like a princess! The wedding ceremony was beautiful, both my fiancée and I looked so beautiful and so many people commented on how gorgeous our hair was. I am so thankful to Tina Craig of Salon Savoy for creating a dream come true and to the Salon Savoy team who helped beautify us for this important life event. AMAZING! I went to Salon Savoy after reading some good reviews online. I have been dying my hair blonde for the past several years, both from professional salons (who turned my hair bright orange) and from myself (who made it less orange...but still orange). I was becoming frustrated because I figured I was plagued to forever be a strawberry/orange blonde. I figured I would try a professional salon one last time before giving up and going back to my dark brown natural color. So I went to Salon Savoy, and told Joan my situation and exactly what I wanted. She was so helpful and explained to me step by step what would need to be done and gave me a quote up front. She got started and a million foils and 3 hrs later we were ready to wash. She also put a glaze in my hair that helped with all of the damage my hair has suffered over the years - made it so soft and shiny! After she blow dried my hair, I couldn't believe it. NO MORE ORANGE! My hair looked beautiful, and so natural. There are not many good hair colorists out there anymore, especially when dealing with making almost black hair light blonde, but Joan is above and beyond an expert. What I really respected as well was the fact that the price she quoted in the beginning did not change - an issue I've had with other salons that try to take advantage. She even threw in the glaze at no additional charge, I couldn't believe it! If you have any issues with your hair color not behaving as it should, take the time to stop by Salon Savoy and see if you can get Joan, she is magic! I've been a client of Kathy Hutton for over 10 years. She recently made a move to this state of the art salon. This is the second time I've followed her. When you find someone good, you stick with them. She is an expert in coloring; blending highlights and lowlights masterfully. I went looking for a stylist after I got tired of spending much time, money, and manual labor to keep my gray covered. I said I wanted my hair frosted. They don't really call it that now. Kathy has a very perceptive eye as to what will look good on you. My hair looks fresh, natural and the same every time I see her. That's the key for me. I don't want people to know that I've had my hair "done". I just want the gray roots gone. My hair has never looked so good. Kathy uses a reminder service and I'm thankful for that. Many times my days get so hectic that appointments can slip my mind. It is so nice to get a reminder phone call. I previously went to Salon Vogue and saw Jessica for the first time just before my wedding. I was hesitant to have anyone do my hair the week or two before my wedding especially when I had been driving 5 hours to GA to stay with a former stylist for the last 6 years. However, I had heard great things about Jess and decided to give it a try. She was excellent. She took her time and was very meticulous with the highlighting. There was no brassiness and it was exactly what I wanted. I went to Salon Savoy for the first time a month or so ago. It wasn't quite as good as the appointment at Salon Vogue. Jess was excellent, but there was some construction going on--however, that is to be expected because they were in the process of moving. Also, my hair is challenging with blow drying and so that was the only challenge. However, the highlighting was great--I can always blow dry my hair later. I noticed one particular spot that wasn't as close to the scalp as I would've liked for the highlighting, but overall, I'd recommend Jessica without hesitation. She is personal and has great communication skills. I don't sit there awkwardly--we always have great conversations. The price is reasonable as well. I feel like highlighting has continued to increase in price over the last few years, but their pricing is worth it because you get what you want. read more

I have been getting my hair cut by Maureen Merlott for close to ten years now. There is a reason that I have remained a loyal customer; she is amazing! Mo is always on time, something that many stylists cannot manage. She takes her time with each client, and she always makes me feel special. She is honest with me and tells me what styles are unrealistic for my hair type and ability to style my own hair. Wavy / Curly Girls listen up! Have you ever gone to a stylist for a cut and then realize your curls are butchered for at least 3 weeks until they resettle and even then they still look like you let your blind dog cut your hair? Well, if so, stop what you are doing and save this salons info. Kristy has been my stylist for the better part of 8 years and always delivers on her curly cuts. My layers are even, my curls are juicy and poppin' and her small talk is entertaining. Just trust me on this one and go see Kristy. Shes also been covering my greys and adding in some highlights to my hair this past year and wow-za. Now I see why women pay to do this to their hair. Extremely happy with India Brooks! For years, I've rarely gone to a salon because I just couldn't get the results I expected so it was very difficult for me to trust anyone. My last experience prior to finding India resulted in my hair literally falling out and breaking off close to my scalp due to a botched coloring / highlight and a horrendous time trying to grow it back. I had my hair done in mid January this year (coloring). The stylist put in a great deal of effort trying to get my hair just the way I wanted it, but ultimately it did not come out as expected (it didn't look bad, just not exactly the way I wanted). The stylists were very understanding, and offered to comp the appointment. The stylists are definitely skilled, but more than that I'm giving five stars because I think that it speaks very highly of this establishment and it's owners that they are willing to spend this much time and effort to make sure their clients leave feeling satisfied about their experience. read more

I have visited Joan at Salon Savoy three times since she was allowed to open and each time I was impressed and reassured about my safety. Waiting in the car until called to come in (1 person in waiting area at a time) and private areas that allowed much more than 6 ft. With both clients and stylists wearing masks ensured a safe and non-risky experience. Even the staggered checkout with no touching of payment equipment and wiping down of all areas before and after each visit is a comfort for me as an elderly at-risk client. They say u need a good mechanic and a great stylist when you move into a new town. Well I haven't found a good mechanic but Kerri Glenn at Salon Savoy is a great stylist! She took one look at my hair color and knew I needed a transformation. She recommended a color that covered the grays and brought golden tones to my existing color! She cut the right length to remove the damaged ends and recommended some products to restore its brilliance! A good hair salon is really tough to find...Im glad I found this one! read more

I go to Kelly Walters at salon savoy. She has been doing my hair for a few years now and i never knew before i started going to her how great my hair could look. I love the cut and colors she does and how she asks what I want to do with my hair and what I like. She is a positive person and I always enjoy my time there.
