I booked a consultation with Noah, and they were super sweet! We talked briefly about what I wanted for my hair, which included a slight trim and bangs! After booking an appointment a few days after, I arrived and got my hair done. I felt extremely comfortable in the environment, and I loved how roomy and clean the salon was. Noah made sure to check on me during the time to see if I was liking the progress. In the end, I loved the style that I received! It was perfect, and exactly what I had in mind. I am sitting in the parking lot crying while I write this. I have brown curly hair and blond highlights. I came in for my appointment with Sharon and I asked for my whole head to be dyed cherry red. We had a consult prior to this and she agreed we can make that happen. 3hours in and I was on the verge of tears. My hair is not even close to red it's light brown with hints of copper. (Photos provided below). Keep in mind I have blond highlights in my hair- the highlights aren't even red? How can you mess up going from blond to red?! At $85 an hour, it was an absolute rip-off. I am completely disappointed and this is happening only 2 weeks away from my birthday, I am so embarrassed. I explained to her this color is nothing near what I asked for, she removed 1h from the charge because she knew she had messed up but that will not fix my hair. I had high hopes for this place. This was a waste of $170. 0/10 if I could give 0 stars I would. What even is the point of the consultation if you don't know your own limits? Unacceptable. read more

This is an overdue review from back in November! I was visiting from out of town and found them on Groupon and decided to go in for a cut/color. Such a hidden gem! Veronica was awesome! I've lived in the NYC area and sometimes have paid far more for much less so the prices I think are just about average from any other salon, if you take some time to understand processes and color changes. Black to blonde for example, is gonna cost you time and the money lol and I have long hair so anything (even a cut) is sometimes more expensive than I "want" to pay unless I go to say, a "Supercuts". I liked the area of the salon. Kinda hidden, but quite easy to get to. The energy was calm, welcoming and everyone was super nice when I walked in. There are a variety of stylists doing everything from creative styles to classics and I loved that they discussed the Aveda products being used with me. If I was from the area, this would be the place I'd look forward to going to for my occasional pampering. My hair was dead, faded, and I loved the end result. I waited 3 weeks to get an appointment because I heard such great things. They have a curly hair specialist. I was so excited as i have never been to one. My hair is a demi color and I told the stylist doing my color that I want a root touch up. While he is dying my roots, I tell him what I normally use. I then tell him about the ONLY bad color experience I have had. The guy was a new stylist and didn't know you can't put a permanent color over a demi. It turns this horrible color. Well, he jokes and says, "Well I hope not because that's what I'm doing". Immediately I get nervous but I decided to trust the professional knew what he was doing. He washed it. I saw my hair and there was a horrible red rust ring on my head. There was also grey STILL grey in some areas. There was so many grey spots all over my head.The gentleman blamed me. He said I should've communicated better. I thought a root touch up means a root touch up. You match the color. Never had any issues except the one other time somewhere else. I was told it was lack of communication and they had other clients. They gave a discount and let me go out the door in tears. I own a business and I have stayed late before to make sure someone was happy. Never have I been treated that way the way I was by Alf. The curly hair specialist was very sweet . I felt bad telling her not to style it because I'm just going to get it colored. So the whole point of going there (for the curl hair specialist) didn't even get to happen. I then went to 2 salons until I found someone to help. Both salons couldn't believe I had to pay for that. Both salons said you never put permanent over a demi. I have pictures if anyone wants to see. I found somewhere to try to fix it and they felt it looked so bad, they didn't even charge me. I am so disappointed. read more

I never cry over haircuts but this one did it. I'm not even sure how I'm going to look decent. And the $60 charge is just insult to injury. The biggest problem was communication. I came in and showed the hairstylist 4 pictures of a medium length layered style with curtain bangs. All the bangs started at the cheekbone. We had a brief conversation in which he asked if I want my bangs to be noticeable and my layers to be short. I said yes, but this is where the communication broke down because I had no idea he'd interpret that as dramatically as he did. The first thing he did was chop my bangs above my eyebrow which is no where near what I showed him and he didn't even ask. I've never had a hairstylist just cut before verifying length. These bangs are so short and fluffy I can't do anything except look like a worn out soccer-mom from the 80's. At the time I didn't know what to say because it wasn't like he'd be able to put them back at that point, so I held out hope he'd give me a look that maybe wasn't what I wanted but would still look good...? He then proceeded to chop my layers with just a razor. I've never had that done before but I wanted to keep an open mind. He then took thinning shears all over my head. My hair is half the density it once was and difficult to pull in a pony because so many locks just fall out. The final result is NOTHING like I wanted. It's like a grown out shag- thin, tapered, fluffy and just horrible. I don't know how I'm going to live with it. I didn't say anything at the time because I thought I could go home and sort it out by pinning the bangs back. Or straightening and styling it differently. No. I will either have to wear a headband or a hat for 6 months. I considered going back in and asking him to fix it but the only solution would be to cut the longest layer blunt with scissors to make the layers not so dramatic. But that means losing length which means less ways to hide it and more time with a haircut I hate. The only conciliation would be a refund. Again, I put on a brave face at the time because I wanted to keep an open mind and I just assumed there was nothing to be done about it. But today I woke up in tears. This stylist was recommended to me and I was so excited to get a good cut. My mother would've used this salon too, but I can't recommend this place in good conscious when I'm absolutely devastated when I look in the mirror. read more

I like the stylist (very pleasant). Haircut is average, later realized that my front fringe is all over the place (unmatched pieces of hair of different length/left and right don't match). I'm very critical and always compare with my prior experiences (not within the US). My friend said my hair looks ok. Cost was $36 (this depends on the stylist, it is impossible to select if you're going there for the first time). They have all vegan products and covid-19 safety policy is very good (distance between clients, clean, mask wearing etc.). If you think the website is not useful call them. Website or facebook page don't have profiles built for individual stylist with their haircuts, qualifications etc. They prompt you to get an app and check instagram but if you don't have just call or email (very responsive). If you have a gift card call and book the appointment otherwise you have to pay $15 out of pocket (don't take gift card online). Also you can give the tip to the receptionist who will give it to the stylist (they don't use gift card money for tip..only cash). read more

Vee and Gina are both wonderful. A while back I went from box color brown to embracing my natural gray. It took several bleaching sessions and treatments (and money) to get the brown out and get my hair ready for toner. They were honest and upfront about what it would cost and how long it would take and I am very pleased with the results. In a few more cuts I think all the blond will have grown out and I'll be left with my natural gray which I love. My hair is healthier and I am happier! It's always a fun and welcoming atmosphere and I highly recommend them. read more

The first time I went to this place I liked it. I recommended to my sister who is not from Gainesville. She got a bit lost and she arrived 10 minutes late. They penalized her saying that she was 25 minutes late (not true) and told her to come back 2 hours later. Also, she could not use her Groupon because she had not told them in advance. The reason for this is that they assigned you to a 'special' stylist. I am not sure what this means, but definitely not what they tell you as you come into to the business. If a business messes it up, they fix it, not the client. Very poor customer relations skills. Unfortunate. read more

They have done a great job everytime I have gone. Their spa is blahh. The poor nail technician was right out of school and did a horrible job (might not be her fault entirely as the polish was very clumpy/dry/old) she did my toes and you could see the layers. I had to point it out and she agreed but then it was the worst as they didn't have a matching color and the jacked up color was really hard to get off and showed on the edges of the new color. I went to Eden Michele for a full leg wax and mani-pedi and I haven't had better salon service since I've been in gainesville. Everyone is very attentive and accommodating, and the actual quality of the service is amazing to boot! Lexi did my legs (which i had never had done before) and I was so pleased with the outcome I can't wait till they grow back and I can go again... lol. Francine did my nails and she paid attention to such close detail and my nails look awesome. I haven't had my hair done there (yet) but from what I saw pass by me they do a kick ass job with that as well. Pulling in the parking lot tonight for my appointment, I got a call that the appointment was cancelled. I was offered an appointment the next day, but unfortunately, I had planned my own work/client schedule around this time two weeks in advance and that didn't work for me. I get that things come up and...I have never cancelled on a client 15 minutes before their appointment. This is just bad business. I will find another place moving forward. I loved my experience at Eden Michele Salon! I have been trying to avoid getting my hair cut during the pandemic but it was way too long and unmanageable. I was nervous about finding a salon that followed COVID guidelines but they did not disappoint! Had my temp taken, everyone wore their masks (correctly to boot), I was asked to wash my hands before sitting in the chair, everything was so clean and everyone stayed socially distant. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. I went in with a groupon and my hair looks like two different cuts on each side. It is unreal that my hair is so uneven! The girl would not listen and is very self absorbed. I tried to return for a fix but it ended up in an argument and I walked out. I am going back to my regular person tomorrow to get it fixed! I went to this salon with 2 of my friends to get our hair blown out for a special event. We had never been here before but thought it would be a good option since they had 17- 5 star reviews. Unfortunately I'm not sure how they managed those 5 star reviews. Between the 3 of us we had 2 stylists. Two of us wanted "beachy waves." The first had more like a whole can of hair spray meets the Brady bunch style poof and spent $50 when she has fine, straight, very easy hair. The second was decent waves once combed out with fingers but the initial blow dry left the hair parted in a bad kind of way. The third wanted her hair blown dry which went well. But then she asked for a curl at the bottom and the lady attempted to use a straightener which didn't work. She had no clue what to do from there. I have no expertise but I know that when I used a blow dryer and a round brush later that night to give my friend the curl at the bottom she was looking for it worked. Overall we wasted our money on an unprofessional service. I would have done a better job myself. read more

I would not suggest visiting this salon. I walked in more than happy to spend on a good color and cut, however I wasn't pleased to be spending more than $300 (which was not revealed until after) on something that came out far from what I asked for. I was looking to have my ends lightened and walked out with completely bleached hair and an underwhelming haircut. Seriously, I wanted some layers added to my hair and walked out with just a small trim. I had my hair done close to Christmas and so I had to correct it with a box dye back to the original color so I didn't look like a fool during the holiday. Now I have frayed, coarse hair that looks absolutely awful, worse than when I had originally went in. I'm not sure how to fix it other than chopping it all off. I probably would've had better luck at a hair cuttery.
