Instead, I ended up coming back every 2-3 weeks for nearly eight years -- and that alone says everything. Monica is truly exceptional. I get builder gel nails with gel polish, and her work is consistently beautiful, precise, and long-lasting. But what really sets her apart is who she is as a person and professional. She owns the business and somehow manages to do everything at once -- welcoming clients, answering phones, supporting other techs with their clients -- all while giving you her full, undivided attention. She is the most observant and attentive person I've ever met. You never feel rushed, forgotten, or like just another appointment. Over the years, seeing her that often, Monica became a very dear friend. We know each other's lives deeply -- the big things, the small things, the in-between seasons. Saying goodbye when I moved to Virginia was genuinely one of the hardest goodbyes of the entire move. On top of everything else, her prices are extremely reasonable, especially for the level of care, consistency, and artistry she provides. If you're lucky enough to get on Monica's books, don't take it for granted. She's not just an incredible nail tech -- she's the kind of person who makes a routine appointment feel like a constant in your life. Polish n Refine is something truly special because of her.

However when things bean to slowly open up again I decided I was ready to go back to the professionals. Enter Luxxe Nails. What I like about this place is that they do online scheduling, and no walk-ins. When you arrive you're given hand sanitizer and they take your temperature. All service stations (including pedicure stations) have a plastic partition between them. They also have posted at each service area a certificate related to sanitation. The one thing I don't like is that they don't allow tips through CC. They want you to venmo/cash app which is NOT to my nail tech though I'm told it goes to her. I've tried to ask my tech about this unfortunately there is a language barrier. I try to tip her in cash though sometimes if I forget I'll still do the cash app and hope for the best.

I had a few broken nails that made it shorter from the rest and I didn't want to be criticized that my nails would be uneven. (Trust me, there are nail technicians that doesn't let you breathe.) Despite it being a bit shorter, Anna was able to help me shape my nails into claws and made me feel comfortable with my nails. In addition, I chose the color white, and if anybody doesn't know, white is one of the few hard colors to paint. But she was able to paint and coat it perfectly that I barely saw any imperfections. Great job, Anna! Anna is a really sweet person who had owning a nail salon as her dream for many years. She also does eyebrows and it's amazing! Thank you, Anna and good luck with your salon.

I booked the Lux Pedicure to treat myself for my birthday, and it absolutely delivered. The service lasted about an hour, and between the massage chair and what felt like multiple leg and foot massages throughout the pedicure, I left feeling refreshed and relaxed. Exactly what I was hoping for. Ashley was my nail tech (so she already got points for a great name and spelling it right lol), and she was wonderful, friendly, attentive, and did a great job. I had an appointment, and they took me right on time, which I appreciated. I'd heard from others that waits can happen, but that wasn't my experience, so I can only speak to the excellent service I received. I wasn't offered a drink (not sure if that's something they typically do), but I had my coffee with me, so it wasn't a big deal. If you're looking for a spa-like, champagne-and-chandeliers experience, this probably isn't it. But if you're looking for a quality pedicure with great massage time, friendly service, and a relaxing hour, I'd definitely recommend it. I'd happily come back the next time I'm in the area!

BEWARE! Stay away from this place. They are extremely unprofessional. I have attached photos of the…read moretime stamp of when this incident happened along with the bank charge to show solid evidence. I paid to get eye lash extensions, which went terribly. The white tape they placed under my lashes got stuck to the false lashes and was sealed with glue which was impossible to remove, unless you remove all false lashes and re-do, entirely. When the lady finished, I noticed, and immediately mentioned it to her. She said it would wash off after I showered. The man at the front desk was a witness, and noticed. After noticing, he semi smiled, laughed, and spoke to her in whatever language they speak that wasn't English. I got home, showered, and of course it did not come off. I called that very same day stating that I showered washed my face and it still did not come off. I notified the man who witnessed everything and he told me to come back the next day, so they could fix it. When I came back, the lady tried pulling the white clumps, which did not help. I requested for them to remove the lashes and issue a full refund. They refused, despite the job being done improperly, and the fix being half-done. They said that if I wanted to get them removed I would have to pay. While I understand they have a no refund policy, this was incomplete/poorly done work. They didn't even offer a credit or to redo them. I have bank statements and the date I took this photo to show I am not lying. The table you lay on had a sheet over it that was extremely dirty filled with someone's hair dander. I had to request for them to change the sheet. I should have taken that as a red flag! This place is not new. It's owned by the same people that owned Diamond Nails, because when they charged me, it showed up as their old name before they remodeled the place. They had to change their name because of the terrible reviews they had. They also wrecked my lashes. She trimmed my natural lashes. I'm not sure why, and I noticed when I had lash Bar remove them.
