I purchased a 1932 Spanish home with a kitchen and bathroom remodeled in the early 90's. Mike at Gladys Design remodeled both for me. It included moving walls, reframing, plaster work, wood floor work, painting, tile floors, electrical, plumbing, window installation, etc. Aside from the kitchen and the bath, I removed an unsightly plexiglass skylight over the dining room and Mike turned the opening in a very special ceiling.
Mike brought in very experienced subs, and I was pleased with all of their work. Mike himself did much of the framing, plumbing and other finish work. Mike has a great eye for design, especially lighting and was amazingly helpful with suggestions about placement of lighting and other design features. I had granite back splashes installed and didn't want to make holes for electrical outlets. Mike suggested plug strips just under the cabinets which turned out perfectly! Mike takes the time to get things exactly the way you want them. He says he treats each project as if he were working on his own house and you hear this often as he encountered issues on the project..."Well, if this were my house, here's what I would do...." Usually it's the right answer to the problem.
I would not hesitate to recommend Mike to anyone. I have one more bathroom that needs to be redone and am waiting for Mike to become available rather that start with an unknown.
