My car had gotten into a wreck in January and just got in there for body work and when I got it back the electrical system was shot keep in mind that there was no issues with the electrical system prior to there repairs they did put in a new alternator for me free of charge so it wasn't completely terrible but still my car came out worse then it was when it went in and that is absolute nonsense read more

Vince has been in business for almost 25 years. His work is first rate, always delivers what he promises and keeps you informed when little issues come up during the repair. I've had 3 repairs done by him over the last 20 years, expensive accidents with nice cars caused by careless Anchorage drivers. The last one was in November when a guy in an Escalade changed lanes into me on Dimond. Every single aspect of Glacier's work was absolutely indistinguishable from stock. My truck was hit on the right hand side, directly on the right front wheel. It needs some body work, but mostly mechanical. Geico had it taken to Glacier, who ordered parts and 2 weeks later sent it to Big-O to have the mechanical repair done. Big-O replaced one part that had clearly been broken but didn't even look at anything else. Big-O's told me it needed a new front hub, which I'd replaced in June, so I know they didn't even look at the problem. I took the truck to Anchorage Alignment Center and was told the frame may be bent, but the control arms and attachments to the frame definitely are, so it has to go back to a frame and body shop to be straightened. I took it back to Glacier and was told they wouldn't work on it because I didn't take it back to Big-O's to fix what they hadn't the first time. (where I come from, if the shop doesn't listen to you and try to fix the issue, you don't go back to them over and over...) It appears to be a boys club where they send one another business and rip off insurance companies. I've also been told since that Glacier is quite expensive compared to other shops. If you want your vehicle fixed, take it elsewhere and save the headache. I liked Brandon, at the front desk, but it turns out these guys were pretty worthless. 5 weeks in and I'm still unable to work, and still looking for a shop to make my truck safe to drive as the issue has not been fixed thanks to Glacier. read more

Sorry to say that I used them a couple years ago for repair at which time they were very good but they may be a victim of their success and now their customer service is absolutely horrendous. My car was the victim of a hit-and-run what was in the parking lot. I wouldn't hit the estimate and at the time the estimator set leave the car so I didn't have to be bothered with it and I told him if it was OK I would drop it off Thursday or Friday because I had to get my personal items out of it. Took a vacation day to drop it off and when I walked in the door the lady behind the desk said they had a bill code problem that they would not be able to be paid. So why didn't they call me instead of waiting for me to come in? Started going downhill from there. Called the insurance company and they questioned the autobody shop because usually when there was a bill problem the people contact insurance company they don't leave it up to surprise and the customer when they walk in the door especially when it was pre-arrange to drop it off. Insurance company got it straightened out and called to let me know to go ahead and drop it off anyway. So I headed back to the autobody shop walked in the door and girl said yes we've got the billing information fixed and there was a fellow behind the desk who originally gave the estimate and he said that he didn't order any parts yet so I couldn't drop it off. I questioned that they didn't have parts ordered when you first suggested I drop it off when he gave the original estimate and he went back to eating his Taco Bell taco lunch. I left. Called my insurance company to cancel this repair. Now I am at Fix Auto Valley up in Wasilla Alaska and their customer service is a breath of fresh air. My dealings with Glacier took at least to me a stressful situation and made it worse. read more

I took them my car to have a dent in my door repaired, now my car door is broken. I used them over less expensive Anchorage shops because they are a local Eagle River business. They guaranteed their work when I picked the car up, but said they "need to get parts" when I took my car back to them two weeks later. They also won't speak to me on the phone, or tell me they'll call me back (they never have, despite 5 phone calls). If you want quality work and honesty, go anywhere but Glacier Autoworks. After paying a premium, I'm left with a broken hinge on the door they worked on, and a car I can't use until I pay someone else to fix it. read more

This place was a horrible experience! Very RUDE man Vince, got very defensive when I asked why I asked why he was charging $30 more than he quoted and cursed at me! The job he did was TERRIBLE! Never will go back! Horrible service and terribly rude man that feels the need to curse out elderly women! Very disrespectful and so un professional! This is what happened! I just want to share an experience I had with Glacier Autoworks located here in ER. My jeep had a horrible smell when I bought it. I tried everything to get rid of that smell but it kept coming back so I brought it to Glacier and Vince said no problem, we can pull it out and pull out the padding and replace it for $90. So I bring it in today and I Said I am bringing it in to replace the padding and he says well it depends on if the padding will come off of the carpet, so I told him to please keep me posted. I left and never heard from them so about 3:45 pm I called and spoke to Allyssa, she said I have to see if it is done I know they pulled it all out and shampooed it and the smell is gone I said what, I thought he was pulling out the old padding and replacing it with new padding because the smell is going to resurface in a week or so. She said no he cleaned it all, he pulled it all out and cleaned it, so I said can he guarantee the smell is not coming back, she said she will call me back, again no call back! So I called them when I got back to ER from Anc. She said yes it is ready to go and it cost $120, I said what, he quoted me $90. So she told him what I said and he got on the phone and started talking to me in a very RUDE manner and even cursed at me, I couldn't get a word in he was very defensive. Then during the conversation he said he removed the padding and tossed it and he did not put padding b/c they don't have padding. He said he didn't tell me he was going to replace the padding and I said yes you did b/c I mentioned to you that my son-in-law told me to be sure to replace the padding b/c of the sound barrier. His response was well why didn't you get him to do it! Very unprofessional! I told him that was uncalled for! He said you don't know how much SHIT I pulled out of that thing why would I put it back in? Well I assumed he put it back in b/c Alyssa said he shampooed it all and put it back in! Bottom line is he was RUDE RUDE RUDE! I was so glad that I had him on speaker phone and my friend heard the whole conversation! She couldn't believe what she heard and the way he was talking to me! There was no reason to curse at me and after all that trauma and drama, guess what my car still stinks! Very poor work and very Rude Man! AVOID GOING THERE UNLESS YOU WANT A CONFRONTATION AND A REALLY SHOTTY JOB! read more
