The quintessential American dessert place - very sweet, hearty, and filling desserts grace this establishment. I went here to try the aesthetic marshmallow fluff hot chocolate and landed on the tiramisu hot chocolate. It was $14+tax which is quite steep for a hot chocolate, but it was good that we only got one to share since every single sip and bite is sugar overload. Way too sweet. The marshmallow fluff makes the drink aesthetic, and they torch it for additional flavor. The tiramisu one has an espresso shot in it, and the drink cost only $1 more from the classic so it was good value. There is whipped cream too but not the light whipped cream that falls flat easily - it's like a lighter marshmallow fluff so that too was sweet. I stopped by Glace Sunday afternoon around 6pm and was met with a short line outside the storefront. My friend and I waited probably 15 minutes to get in and order, and the process was very quick to get our smores hot chocolate into our hands. The hot chocolate is very rich and yummy - sweet but not terribly too sweet. The whipped cream is very light and fresh and was my favorite hot chocolate accompaniment. I would say though, maybe unpopular opinion, but I didn't think the toasted marshmallow rim was very necessary to add to the hot chocolate - especially for the price. As an FYI, there is seating directly outside the storefront window, and half sheltered seating on the road/curbside seating. No seating indoors and it's a small quaint store overall. Next time if there's not a long line and the weather's chilly, I'd definitely stop by and grab a hot chocolate with whipped cream. When it gets warmer, I'd also probably stop by if I'm in the Area and try their ice cream as I've heard many good things about the ice cream! read more

We saw this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. We got in line at 7:15 PM and reached the front by 7:42 PM, but then were ignored for about 15 minutes while staff began cleaning up. This was confusing, especially since they continued serving people ahead of us and there was still a line out the door. I didn't say anything because I understand how challenging it can be to work in a small business. We were excited and had already decided what we wanted. At 7:58 PM, the woman who had been ignoring us and preparing s'mores looked at us and said, "We only have original s'mores. We are closed." After waiting nearly an hour, we felt pressured to order anyway. The total came out to almost $45 for three s'mores hot chocolates. The staff was rude and clearly in a rush to get us out. While I was trying to take a quick photo, one of the male employees said, "You can't stand here and eat. We are closed. You need to leave." That was extremely unprofessional. I never said anything back, but the interaction left a very bad impression. I'm usually very understanding of service workers, but this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. With service like this, the TikTok hype won't last long. I wouldn't recommend it--there are much better places in the area that actually live up to the hype. read more

First place I've personally ever wanted to go to based off a viral Instagram post and am so glad I did! This review is for their Winter pop-up menu :) Sis was in town just after Christmas of 2023 and we stopped by around 6:00 P.M expecting a long line and painful wait. So was the homemade whipped topping but I do wish they had added a graham cracker/g.c essence element. There was a small (crowded) outdoor seating area but we decided to walk a couple hundred feet down to their main location (NoGlu Bakery) where they had seating with tables as well! Had to try this insta-famous hot chocolate! There was already a line at 12:10 on a Saturday, decided to take my chances and came back 30 minutes later. The line didn't seem terribly long but it was slow moving. I got on line at Zabar's entrance and it took about 25 minutes for me to get a hot chocolate. I went with the "basic" s'mores in which you just get the fluff and whipped cream for $10. All other versions are $12.50 and up and the add-ons don't really seem worth the additional cost for what you get. I thought the cream and fluff would be too much and I was right! I saw people waiting 1-2 hours in line for these festive cups at the 30 Rock location, but on a weekday afternoon on the Upper East Side (the week of Christmas), there were only a few people in line, and I had my hot chocolate in about 10 minutes. I opted for the seasonal peppermint rendition, which came complete with chocolate gingerbread man and crushed candy cane pieces on top. They pipe and torch the marshmallow to order, so it was soft and gooey, and tasted great. The hot chocolate was more watery than I prefer, and the creation overall was too sweet. I have a serious sweet tooth, and could not finish it. I think adding a little sea salt or using a slightly darker chocolate would have greatly helped the cause. read more

It's milky with chocolate that isn't too sweet but just the right amount. It's not too thick either. The smores marshmallow fluff had cinnamon which definitely added taste. Altogether the marshmallow and whip cream were too much that you couldn't enjoy the hot chocolate. I saw that most people didn't finish the marshmallow and threw out 50% of it. The s'mores hot chocolate was delicious with the chocolate drizzle. However similar issue with too much whip cream that didn't melt with the hot chocolate and made it difficult to enjoy/drink. Also, the hot chocolate itself was quite expensive considering the size with the smores being $10 and cookies and cream being $14.50. PEPPERMINT HOT CHOC So the hot chocolate itself is sweet but not too sweet, and not too hot to drink right after getting it. It has a rich chocolate flavor but not like European hot chocolates where it's super thick, bold and intense. The rim of italian marshmallow is super interesting, and is more solid than you might anticipate, and it's hard to know how exactly to eat it with the hot choc. I'm also not a huge whipped cream person, and with the marshmallow just felt like a lot of dairy dilution the actual chocolate. Regardless, the peppermint sprinkles gave it an extra umph and the chocolate itself had peppermint flavor which was nice. Great experience.
