I'm honestly so disappointed. I specifically planned my entire evening around visiting Softside Nomad because I was really looking forward to trying the soft serve. I checked the hours listed on Google, made sure to arrive well before closing, and showed up only to find that the establishment was closed. It's incredibly frustrating to plan your evening around a business's posted hours, make the trip, and then discover that they aren't actually open during those hours. I was genuinely so excited to try the soft serve and was incredibly sad and disappointed to leave without getting to try it. I understand that unexpected things happen, but if the hours have changed or the shop is going to be closed, please update the posted hours so customers aren't making a wasted trip. Hopefully I'll actually get to try the soft serve someday, but unfortunately this experience was a huge letdown. read more

I grew up on Carvel, so it's hard for me to compare soft serve ice cream, which may not be completely fair? I usually go for soft serve chocolate so I had a cup, with Oreo topping. Ice cream was smooth, but not very chocolatey. I have also tried their pistachio soft serve, which I liked better! $7.50 a cup plus toppings or dips. Like all the other softside locations this is a grab and go place. Though this one had a table and 2 chairs outside of it for people to enjoy their frozen yogurt. I got vanilla with the Knicks colored sprinkles. I usually get the vanilla with sea salt and honey and I think there is olive oil on the one I usually get. The ice cream is a good typical type of ice cream you'd expect for soft serve, however the customer service is the type that makes you never want to come back. We came at 10:11pm and the store closes at 11pm (which we confirmed with the employee) and the cones were put away, no milkshakes, no sundaes, only cups of ice cream. The guy was sweeping the floor, eager to close up. This is nyc how are you cleaning up and closing up shop putting away products 45 minutes before closing ?? I wanted a milkshake, no more milkshakes. Came to Softside for an after-dinner dessert. Their selection of soft serve flavors is pretty small, and there isn't any seating inside, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot. I ended up getting the Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake. It tasted exactly how I thought it would, like the milk leftover after eating a bowl of cereal, but it was kind of weird as a milkshake. It wasn't very thick and leaned more on the milky side. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch pieces also didn't really fit through the straw and ended up getting soggy at the bottom. I had to open the lid and scoop them out. I probably should've just gotten a cup of soft serve instead, so maybe I'll give that a try if I come back. read more

Softside was incredible. The store itself stood pretty unassumingly in the neighborhood but served up some top tier soft-serve which could give a lot of ice cream and gelato spots around town a run for their money. A simple menu with a handful of flavors to choose from, and some unique combinations - this is just the place you want to be in the summers. No lines, not an overwhelming number of choices. Just pure goodness. We got the Pistachio soft serve in a cup, and the Riff which was essentially vanilla bean soft serve, drizzled with olive oil, honey and salt flakes. An absolute work of art. This frozen yogurt place has a small store front on a fun street. You place your order at the counter and it comes out very quickly. The staff was nice and the place was cute and clean. The actual Greek yogurt was very light and creamy, I'm not even sure how they accomplished it. The price was reasonable. The sun was scorching and I saw chairs and sun shadow so I went there , a girl offered me a sample of pistachio Ice cream and I took one . I was pleased with the freshness and flavor so I went to the small store and bought one . I chose the strawberry shortcake that look yummy and tasted heavenly refreshing . Dipping chocolate was burned which was perhaps why they couldn't make a dipped cone. They tried multiple times and the yogurt fell off the cone into the chocolate so they gave up and served it in a dish. Also need more training because I think they left the cone upside down too long and didn't pull it out and flip it fast enough.
