I was here last week after not having eaten at a GK restaurant in over a year. I was looking forward to my meal but I will never be back. The biggest thing that turned me off other than the sticky and dirty floors was the cockroach that my group and I saw running around the table where the to go orders were placed. So whoever gets any delivery service from this place, you may want to check for any passengers that may have hitchhiked a ride in your food. The young lady who works there definitely needs a raise. She's the only one who I ever see doing any work. She's running around making to go orders, refilling drinks, bringing out the rice etc. to the tables and ringing up customers. One of the guys who cooked for us tonight was so MEAN! I ordered four Bowls for to go and put alot of food in my Bowl the chef who made it threw away most of it especially my Broccoli when he was cooking it. He looked at us in a MEAN way too, he seemed like he was mad that we filled up our bowls and he Obviously didn't want to help us at all. I recently moved to Manteca and a neighbor of mine had mention to try Gk Mongolian bbq. Today my family and I decided to go give it a try, first impression was horrible. We walked in and there was just a bunch of food all over the floor and counter, I thought to myself okay, maybe its because they have been busy and people are filling their plates to much. As we go through the line, we were not greeted at all, and the toppings were very limited. The workers just looked like a mess, they didnt even know what to do. We waited 10 mins with our bowls to hand to them to cook, but nobody even cared to help us. As I look down, I seen a cockroach on the floor! This is when my family and I decided to walk out. This place is exactly what Manteca needed. Most of Manteca's eateries are big national chains or tacquerias. There is nothing else like it, and the food is great too! The place is clean, the food is fresh, and it's cooked right there for you while you watch and wait. My meal was delicious. If you are considering a place like Chipotole, STOP! Came in around lunch time with my family of 4. They were extremely busy but quickly set up a table for us. The place was a bit messy however the staff was busting their behinds to clean tables off and restock veggie/meat trays and serving bowls. The staff was friendly and the young man whom I believe was the manager was really going out of his way to make sure all customers were happy. The food was very good and cooked to perfection for me. I always pack my bowl with too much and end up having to take a to go box. Which they gladly provide. It is a bit small inside this location so I wouldn't recommend this place for big groups if they're busy. It can be a bit messy in here also as people who load up their bowls with meat, noodles and veggies try to pile it high so food tends to spill everywhere. With that being said. The food here is delicious & the customer service was on point. I will gladly be back. read more

Love the food but the inside of this establishment is nasty, floors are slippery in need of a mop and food on the floor. The first time me and my wife ate there cause we were hungry and thought it was just that one time we would experience the un cleanliness but the second time we walked in it was the same slippery floor, noodles was on the floor we walk out right away. For a food experience i am familiar with, this place does not have a lot to offer. I have seen better selection in terms of sauces to mix an match while you go mad scientist on your bowl that is ready for the rotating madness that is Mongolian BBQ cooking style. The toppings themselves are nothing spectacular. I wish they offered a hot bar of food to go along with the noodle based meal you craft yourself and to your liking. This was a disappointing but not horrid experience in that there are better places to seek Mongolian BBQ. My review is based on a lunch time visit. Would not return! read more

We normally have a positive experience here, but at dinner over the weekend we had a bad experience that I felt compelled to share. The food is really good, but when customer service and cleanliness are bad, it makes customers question coming back. We know self serve areas can get messy, but there was too much food all over the counters and floors, and the grill they cook on looked like the food had been caked on and not cleaned in a while. Instead of attending to customers, they started to clean and pour water all over the kitchen around 7:30pm while all the tables were full with people dining. The worst part was the customer service. The young girl who helped us was not friendly and didn't let us know where she set up our table to eat, so we stood there with our food wondering where to sit. She never got one of us our drink, the wontons were all tiny crumbs, and we were never brought out the rice that should be included with the meal. We asked for a box to take home a few bites that I didn't finish, but she told us we could not have a box since one of the meals at the table was a free kids meal. We brought to her attention that we didn't get one drink and no one at the table got rice, but she proceeded to coldly say she would have to charge us for a full meal to take home maybe 5 bites of leftover food that was going to go to waste. The gentleman who is usually here when I come is fantastic. He checks on each table, making sure they have a good experience, and keeps the restaurant clean. I wish I knew his name, but he was not there that night. I gave them 3 stars for our previous visits. Hopefully we don't have a bad experience again because we do like the food. read more

The waitress was amazing let me say that first. As for the rest. Cook took forever with my daughters food because he forgot it. Then stands with my bowl at the counter expecting me to know it's for me. And the young lady making the Togo orders or whatever it was she was doing made the rudest most disgustingly disrespectful suggestion to me. I was telling my husband about how the waitress did a good job putting the togo orders together and I guess she thought I was talking about the bowl in her hand so I just went along with it and this idiot offers to cook it up for me "on the house" because she thought I was talking about the slop she was cleaning from the food counter that she had put in a bowl to toss. I told her that's disgusting. And she just laughed but she was serious and i literally wanted to slap her. Anyways, she made the establishment look bad. We watched as she was rude to everyone she interacted with. If she doesn't like the job she shouldn't be there. I've never had a problem here until now. Ok venting.... My husband and I go to a Mongolian BBQ place, my husband has ALS and is using his walker, oh so gingerly, the guy is beat! He sits on his walker at a table for 2, it's kinda busy, so we pick a smaller table near the door, this way he won't have to walk too far, I'm getting his food. The young girl working here asks us to move cause they want to close the section to start cleaning it! Seriously, hello you can not close down a section when you have a handicapped person with mobility issues in that section! This place was okay. My family and I came in during their lunch special. It was rush hour when we came. We're big noodle fans and thought this place was okay. My noodles were pretty flavorful because of all the sauces I combined together but I felt the rest of the food could've used more flavor. I felt the way the noodles were placed in the bowl could've been a bit more cleaner. The portion size is decent but the Feng shui of the place feels a little off. If you're looking for a place to grab a quick bit for noodles in Manteca, this is technically the only place here. read more

(Note the employees and food are 5*. This only reflects on the issue I had) Only reason why this place doesn't get a 5 stars is that a district manager was there. Not a big deal right, I didn't pay any mind to it. Not right away at least. I go in and do my usual bowl. I used to go once a week on the Tuesday for like 4 months straight. So I got good at stacking the bowl with noodles and meat. Getting my Money's worth. They fill the to go container and put it in plastic wrap because they can't close it sometimes. So the district manager is there and he comes and tells me "you can't do that. If it is more than the container we throw half of it away." I tell him oh my bad I've never had this problem before in coming here if you want me to pay for two bowls I will I guess. He goes on to reiterate throwing half of it away. Eventually we get to the portion where they take it and cook it. I give my bowl to the usual guy there that I've seen often he always cooks it well and I'm always happy with it. But as he scoops it up into the bowl and fills the container. He puts it in the usual plastic wrap. The district manager begins to speak in Spanish to him. My friend catches wind of this and responds back in Spanish to him. I ask my friend if he was talking smack. My friend didn't want to answer me. I told him to say yes or no. He said yeah. And I was irate. I had a burning fury inside me and I did speak up some words. Which normally I don't care and I let it slide. But as a district manager to a repeating customer this kinda thing is highly unprofessional. If it wasn't for the crew and the food I wouldn't want to go to the place again on the off chance this "District manager" is there. At least I hope the other district managers if any. Are a lot better than he was. Probs just a sour mood but wow is this Rough. I would really love to give this place the ratings it deserved. And I wish I got his name. The place itself isn't that big but since I never really eat there it doesn't affect me much but it might for other people. The food is really good and I always get big portions when I go. The pricing isn't bad but it's not as cheap as a fast food chain but it's understandable since it is a restaurant. My one and only complain, it's probably a big one, is that they always ask me to put a S"*t tone of sauces on my plate witch takes away from the taste of the actual food and sometimes it turns out bad for the stomach as well. read more

I ordered through DoorDash. Should have looked at these reviews beforehand. My dasher was awesome! Thank you to Joann! The bags arrived nice and hot! All excited I opened the bag. Everything was nicely packaged BUT it was for 5 people and nothing was marked. We had to pick and taste each other's foods to guess who they belonged to. The beef was very tough. The noodles and veggies were good but each of us ordered different types of sauces and different veggies. The only good thing in the entire order were the Crab Rangoons...crab with cream cheese, but too pricey $7.99 for 6 little pieces. $87 and I'm still not satisfied because the build your own with beef was tasteless. The two stars are for the packaging, that it arrived hot and the pricey crab rangoons. Otherwise it'd be a zero. read more

I went Monday 4/15/19 about 8:20pm. The place was filthy. There was food all over the floor, in between the ingredients, the counter. It's a self serve type of place. You grab a bowl and put your chosen ingredients in it. Then you give it to the cook and the cook throws it on the stove/grill. I've never been to this place, even somewhere like it, so I felt a little uneducated about the process. I don't eat meat so I asked the cook of the sauces have meat or fish in them. He said no. As I was walking past the sauces I noticed a lobster sauce. Be careful if you have any food allergies. The three employees who were working just didn't have any interest in anything more than absolute necessity.
