George (the owner) is a very nice man and helps you find the right fit. BEWARE!!!!!! PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! We chose Mr George Heyward and G J Modern Impressions to be the tailor for our groomsmen. In short, he collected everyone's money, did nothing with it, promised to refund everyone, and DID NOT! We now may have to request the help of the courts to get it returned...even though he already AGREED to refund everyone in full. Our last meeting with him was February 2022 (it is now June 2022) and for months we contacted him trying to set up a meeting with him and our planner to view a sample of the suit color to confirm on that color for the guys! We were not confirming the color without seeing it matched up with the swatch of my bridesmaids dresses. We also reached out to request for him to collect all the men's measurements to order their correct sizes with the money after the color was officially confirmed. NONE OF THE ABOVE was done and the only thing Mr. Heyward collected was the money! After months had passed with no results, in April we reached out to him for a refund and at first he claimed we confirmed the color and that he already ordered the suits in different sample sizes so he couldn't return the money. We were not going for that excuse because the color was never even confirmed due to him not providing the sample AND he never even sized any of the men to make an order in the first place! He had never even seen the guys to assume sample sizes would fit and alterations are NOT included in his fees! Our planner was also witness to the fact that nothing was done or confirmed and when we had her get on the line to speak to him, he got extremely disrespectful with her by yelling and screaming at her on the phone. Every interaction with him since has led to no results and no refund. Instead of being a man of integrity and doing the right thing like he said he would, to this day he chooses to continue to make excuses and not immediately refund the $850 he collected. He collected the money via cashapp but claims he cannot return it that way and his "accountant" sent out checks. When asked for the accountants information to inquire on why the money has not been sent yet, he declined to give it. To this day no one has received a dime from him and our inquiries on why have been ignored. So with that being said, unfortunately I cannot recommend his company to ANYONE! I hope whoever is reading this considers our experience before using him and read other reviews as well! We are NOT the first people he has done this to! I ordered a vest and bow tie from GJ Modern Impressions, while on vacation and had it shipped to my daughter as it was a gift for her fiancé. The cashier "Junior" stapled the business card for George Heywood to the receipt if I had any issues. When my daughter received the vest approximately a month later, it was not the correct one. I immediately called the store and they indicated that they would order the correct vest, ship it, and include a return label for the incorrect vest to be shipped back to them. I was told it would be received within 3 weeks. A month later, the correct vest and bow tie had not been received. We made 5 phone calls, and 2 emails, to the store with no return reply. When we ask the sales rep for a status, they wouldn't give us information and only will take a message for George Heywood, the "CEO", yet no message was ever returned. Because we do not live in Charleston we are unable to walk into the store to get answers in person. All we wanted was an update on the correct vest and/or a "sorry it isn't available we will refund you your money". However, we have received nothing. Except an incorrect vest and bow tie, a huge hassle trying to find the right vest at the last minute of an important event, and a charge on my debit card. I went through GW modern Impressions for my wedding and the owner promised everything would be done in plenty of time. We provided sizes, payment, etc months in advance and when we came to pick up all 9 suits were completely wrong. We were charged $50 plus for alterations for each suit because he said that was not part of the service (if the suits fit with the measurements provided there would of been no need for them). Needless to say we didn't receive our final suits unsure if they were going to fit or not until about 4hrs before the wedding. Once we all tried them on 2 suit jackets didn't fit and one of the zippers was broken on the pants (this was mentioned to him days before when tried on and he said it would be fixed, obviously it wasn't). WE that's right WE on our wedding day had to drive them out to the shop and wait on the owner AGAIN. It wasn't until 15 minutes before the wedding we had all of our suits. When I say HAD I don't mean they looked the best either. We had some people wearing pants substantially bigger, jackets that were smaller, it was very embarrassing. All in all it was a terrible experience. It was so hard to get in touch with this owner, he doesn't follow through with anything, he isn't professional, doesn't stand by his work, and it seems like he has no idea how to measure a person for a suit. First this store has moved to Citadel Mall no longer in Northwoods. 1. We purchased this lovely suit on Jan 7 at which time Rev. George said it would be ready that Thursday Jan 9th we said we were not in a hurry so they told us Monday Jan 13th is. That was fine with us. So we put it on our calendar. I said don't you have a sample of his size so you can measure for alterations. No I will measure and use inseam and it will be fine. OK. 2. We drove 1 hour and arrived 1p Jan 13th Rev George was not there the sales person said suit was not there. They called Rev George and who said "I told us you I would call when ready." He never said anything of the sort. So wasted time and gas money. 3. George told Ken He would call; he did call and said it would be ready Friday morning. Ken said then he would pick it up Friday afternoon. We drove another hour, he was not there and neither was the suit. They called he said he would be there soon. They had to waste time in mall for over an hour when they met up next time George said it wasn't until 4p. I thought it was ready that morning. 4. Ken tried it on and George informed him it was long because he needs to bend his elbow. The pants were dragging on the floor and George informed him that it would be fine with his dress shoes. NOT. 5. We took to him how suit pants and jacket should fit a man. His only concern was the sale not customer service and satisfaction. I have never been so angry at a business. He never took responsibility for inconveniencing us and providing good service. I would never I repeat never recommend this pathetic store. read more

The owner George Heyward still has not refunded all the money that was due us and will not discuss the matter with us. We are stuck with the insufficient funds fees our bank charged us for the bad checks he wrote us when he refunded part of our money.
