My experience and overall impression of this store have been extremely disappointing, and there are several reasons why I feel people should think twice before doing business with them. First of all, if you're planning on selling your clothes, shoes, handbags, or other items to Style Encore, don't expect to get much money for them. One of the biggest problems is that they only offer you about a third of what they turn around and sell your items for, and honestly, even that feels generous sometimes. You could bring in perfectly good, name-brand items that are still in great condition, only to be offered an amount that feels like a complete joke compared to what the store will eventually charge a customer. I understand that resale stores need to make a profit, but there is a difference between making a reasonable profit and making sellers feel like their items are practically worthless. It is incredibly frustrating to see how little they are willing to pay people for their merchandise when they know they can turn around and sell those same items for significantly more money. What makes it even worse is the fact that the store's prices are ridiculously high for a resale shop. The entire point of shopping at a secondhand store is to find good-quality items at more affordable prices. However, Style Encore can have prices that make you wonder whether you're better off just buying something brand-new somewhere else. Some of the prices are honestly absurd when you consider that these are used items that someone else originally owned. Just because something is a recognizable brand doesn't automatically mean it should be priced so high, especially when the store is paying the original owner a fraction of what they are charging the next customer. The pricing feels completely out of proportion with what customers are actually getting. It is hard to understand how a store can offer sellers so little for their belongings while turning around and charging customers so much for those exact same items. Another major issue is management. In my opinion, management is one of the biggest reasons I would hesitate to recommend this place. Good management should create a positive environment for employees, treat people with respect, communicate effectively, and make sure problems are handled professionally. Unfortunately, my overall impression of the management is extremely negative. When management is lacking, it affects the entire atmosphere of a business, including the employees, the customer experience, and the way the store operates. A workplace should not be somewhere employees dread going. Management should be willing to listen, communicate clearly, address concerns, and treat employees like human beings rather than making them feel unappreciated. When those basic expectations are not met, it creates an unpleasant work environment and makes it difficult for employees to feel motivated or valued. In Overall, I feel like Style Encore tries to get the most out of sellers and customers while giving very little back in return. My advice to anyone considering selling to Style Encore is to explore other options first. Compare prices, look into selling your items online, or try another resale store before accepting an offer. You might be surprised by how much more control you have over your prices and how much better you can do elsewhere. If you're considering shopping there, take the time to compare the prices with other resale shops and even regular retail stores. Don't automatically assume you're getting a bargain just because you're shopping secondhand. And if you're thinking about working there, I would strongly encourage you to do your research and ask questions about the workplace, management, expectations, and how employees are treated before making a decision. A job should provide more than just a paycheck; you should also be able to expect professional treatment and a reasonably supportive work environment. Save yourself the frustration and shop around before giving this store your time, money, or merchandise. Just because a business calls itself a resale store doesn't automatically mean it's offering fair prices or providing a good experience. In my opinion, Style Encore has plenty of room for improvement, and until things change, I wouldn't recommend it to others.
