I didn't have high expectations when I walked into Jos A to buy a suit. I honestly didn't expect to find what I needed, thinking I would instead find myself working with inexperienced sales staff trying to sell ill fitting suits. My experience was the exact opposite. I was initially helped my Christian trying to find a 2 piece suit but we thought we might need to get a custom cut to fit me well. His manager Bob jumped in and ended up finding me a really nice suit off the rack. We super impressed with his knowledge of suits and how they fit to make them look really nice. Overall this was a great experience and I'll be back for the next suit soon! read more

Service was impersonal (had an appointment, was told that "didn't matter" and had to wait 30 minutes to be helped) and the sizing on the pants was incorrect, had to take it to a local tailor to salvage it. If appointments don't matter, don't offer them maybe? Not worth the money or hassle, lesson learned! read more

Suit is nice. Employees relatively friendly. The problem is they charge $600 for a suit and send you out with disposable plastic bag in the suit instead of a garment bag. Way to cheap out Jos A Bank! read more

Both Cary and Brett were wonderful to work with and provided very personal service experience. They also have impeccable taste and will assist you in creating a look that fits your style while looking your absolute best. They will also make sure your fitment is both stylish and correct (and if it doesn't come out perfect the first time, get it fixed without question). Probably some of the worst customer service that has consistently remained the same on multiple occasions. Staff was not welcoming and not helpful. Came in to buy a blazer to match some pants and staff didnt even present me with options just told me there was nothing that they could do. I recently was sent to this store to rent a tuxedo for a Debutante party. The service I received was amazing, and all while the store was very busy with Holiday Shoppers. I went into the store just an hour before the party began to pick up my tuxedo. The staff helped me get in it, and they were like an Indy pit crew. Over the period of a half an hour I had three people helping me get dressed. I have not worn a tuxedo before so needed all the help I could get ! And they accomplished that with style , speed and grace. Hats off to the staff in this store for making my tuxedo rental painless and pleasant! read more

Terrible experience. We went in by way of a friend's referral to the big sale they were having today for the holiday close out. We then received the most incredibly disappointing customer service I've ever experienced. We left after being jolted twice by the staff and took our money elsewhere. I've never been so publicly belittled & gaslit by a store clerk until this experience. The store was clearly 70% off all items and the 1st clerk refused to help us because we asked for where the clearance shoes were. The 2nd told me there is no way they would ever put black men's shoes on sale, while also telling me if I wanted sale items I might as well go to Belk...insinuating we were too poor to shop there, even though the store was 70% off. I am not connected to Jos A Bank or the employees in any way. But I had to comment on the manner in which they went above and beyond to help my wife get a tuxedo to our son, now in college in Athens. The staff, particularly Gale Fair, was exceptionally helpful with something that would not benefit her or her store. This store is excellent but the employees are even better. read more

Service is great! Came to get suit for wedding party. They were able to sell us a $1000 suit for $300. What a deal! I had to get mine altered for an additional $50 because a 42 regular suit comes with 36 pants(Gosh america is obese)?!? But that's a rant for suit companies and America in general not Jos A Bank. Ordered 4 suits for my wedding and could not be happier with the service I received from Stephen and store manager Brett. I ordered the suits last minute (4 weeks before the wedding). They were on top of the entire process from choosing the suits, to ordering, to advising on when they'd arrive, shopping one to another store for another groomsman, to alternations and slight adjustment to alterations. They communicated every step of the way and I never had to reach out to them once. They pushed information on a regular basis to ensure I was informed and didn't have to worry about a thing. read more

How can you so consistently be subpar. I don't even write reviews but I had to because this location is such a joke. After having a suit delivery delayed 8 months from the charlotte store to this location, I figured I should stop buying from jos a bank. But, my best friends wedding was being done through them so I had no choice. Thinking you can't screw up a wedding, I figured things would be fine. Upon getting my suit, I realized it was in the wrong size. So I took it in to get adjustments. It was then that an employee barely paid any attention to me over the course of 45 minutes. Once I finally got enough attention, the employee said instead of adjusting the suit I should just go a size up. He then told me he could overnight the suit in time for me to have it by my friends wedding I am in 5 days later. He decided to do one check to see if the suit was in stock at the downtown Charleston store and found that it was. Instead of ordering it for me, they told me to go downtown and pick it up. So today I left work early to make sure I could get it. Upon showing up to the downtown store, they informed me they never received any notice and did not have a suit available for me. They then informed me that there was an error on the mount pleasant stores part and the suit had been ordered. From New Hampshire. I was told to go to that store for no reason and the suit was ordered from the warehouse. Classic Jos A Bank. I am now waiting to see if my suit will arrive on time for the wedding I am in this weekend. How can a company in the industry they are in so consistently not deliver on customer service? Went shopping today for a new tuxedo shirt, tie and cuff links. Immediately I was told that I would only be "allowed" to try on one shirt since it was too much trouble to unpack another one, in case I didn't like the fit. The sales rep (Bob, I believe) selected a shirt for me, which was nothing close to The shirt I wanted. I was then told they did not have anything that would be my size?... I am a pretty standard 17/35 shirt, and was then told I should shop at Men's Wearhouse. Will be calling the manager tomorrow, terribly disrespectful service. read more
