We went this afternoon, and I was not impressed...actually if I could give it 0 stars I would. First, there was an older woman (approximately 75-80 years old) serving us and the three other tables the whole time, while 3-4 young girls talked and laughed the whole time behind the counter. The prices were extremely high, paying 15 dollars for ravioli that I found a hair in. The ravioli sucked. It was under cooked and the sauce tasted like watered down school lunch sauce. We payed 80 dollars for three people, and contemplated telling the waitress about the hair in the ravioli, but decided not to because our previous experience. The last time we went here was 5 years ago, and we expected it to have improved, yet it was even worse this time. read more

Diverse menu, nice staff and owner, and best of all, GREAT FOOD! Tonight's order was the Giuseppe special pizza and spaghetti with red clam sauce. Pasta was cooked perfectly, sauce was super tasty. Excellent experience. The place is very unique and nice, the pizza is good (very New York style), the food is very Americanise, but with style. Good wine list, simple wines, but good. We recently moved to the area, but from the first opportunity to try Guiseppi's we were in love. Most days their pasta sauce is absolutely incredible, so the first time we came with our kids (on a Monday) and the food was flavorless, we immediately knew something was wrong. "Did the cook change? What happened?" Repeatedly we were told on different days that they have the same chef 7 days a week until one day we got a new girl. She agreed with us and recommended, "Don't come on Monday's. This restaurant is a locals favorite with excellent food and more than ample portions. If you're a teenager you may be able to finish your meal otherwise share the entree or expect to take a go box home. One of their specialities is there meatballs that either come with your entree or a side/appetizer. They are the size of a Major League Baseball and absolutely Mamma Italian good. Another is the Stromboli or Calzone. They come in 3 sizes. The small will feed one will feed two adults and they only get larger from there. They have outside dining if the weather is good. Having been here 4-5 times now, trying new items, I'm discovering my first review was a little inaccurate. We're gone from... VERY GOOD to MEH to NOT SO HOT. How does this happen? My major disappointment stems from last night's dinner. I ordered the sm Sicilian pizza. The topping were good, but the crust was dried out, hard, over baked and crumbly. Not fresh at all. No sign of there ever being any olive oil in the crust pan when cooked. I didn't even want to take the rest home, but my GF insisted. I tossed it later. My GF had the Veal Parm, and that was hard and overcooked/pre-cooked too. She also didnt finish her meal. Yet no one asked us if everything was alright? So between my first visit (Nov 2012) and now, my opinion of this place has taken a downhill slide. I'm not saying I won't return, but I'll stick to the menu items that were good in the past. Stopped at this place during work to grab some lunch. All the waitresses were sitting at a booth chit chatting when i walked in which first threw me off. Got a water and the toasted cheese ravioli to start which came out fast and were pretty tasty. The water tasted like it had come out of a toilet. Disgusting. I then ordered the baked spaghetti and it came with so much sauce and cheese piled on top. The sauce was very bland and almost bitter so I added loads of pepper and it was alright after that. The meal came with garlic knots that were kinda hard but good. The whole time I was eating, the waitresses stayed sitting at that front booth talking to each other about their man problems. Walked In and was seated by a server.....watched 4 people get seated and served their drinks meanwhile our server never acknowledged us. When I made the manager aware... he said sorry and shrugged it off as we left to head to Timbers!!! The staff was not overly impressive and there must have been four of their staff on break the entire time we were there all sitting at a booth. That seemed a bit odd, just from an appearance standpoint. The crowd hovering around that booth was also awkward because it was near the entrance and the cash register so you had to squeeze to get by. My calzone was good and the food didn't take too long to come out. They certainly didn't skimp on the size of the calzone. I wasn't able to eat it all. So, my overall deduction of stars on their rating was the staff. I want to start by saying that I live 5 hours from this place but anytime I drive past on my way to the beach, it is a must stop place for me! I apologize for no pictures on this review because my phone camera is acting up but I ordered the shrimp Parmesan and it was absolutely incredible. The atmosphere is very casual and very enjoyable. My niece and nephew were with me and they have a steeler train that is suspended from the ceiling and they allow kids to hit the big red button and start the train up. They loved getting up and pushing the red button!! Our waitress was very polite and very courteous. She brought us refills very quickly and was very professional. I even accidentally spilled my pop and she came and cleaned it up for us with a smile on her face! I will always give this place my business anytime I come with an hour of it. Guiseppes had exceeded my expectations. Stopped by here after a day trip to Kings Dominion and was hungry on the way back home. Our waiter (Sarah) was so sweet, even when I messed up my order she managed to change to what I really wanted. I ordered the Steamed mussels in a white wine sauce as my appetizer AH-MAY-ZING. The entree which was the Seafood special was just as delicious. The Gelato my brother has soo good. I definitely will make the drive again to come back here for some good Italian food!! read more

Came here for lunch while on the road. I probably should have ordered a pizza because that seems to be their strength but I figured the stromboli would a fine option. I ended up getting both a veggie stromboli and onion rings and they were just okay. Nothing horrendously bad about my experience but nothing that would allow me to say wow I need to come back either. The onion rings were pretty bland and none of the veggies in the stromboli were seasoned. Portion was large and the area that it is in is fine. This is a local restaurant that I've frequented many times. Food is usually good. Haven't had any bad experiences. Some items are a little pricey but considering the climate and increase in prices across the country, that's to be expected. Staff has been friendly and professional. This place has gone down hill. Used to be pretty e decent. I had the calzone, and it had no flavor and the crust was over cooked. My kid had broccoli and Mac and cheese, it was terrible, like it had been sitting in a food warmer for two days and then reheated. The Mac and cheese tasted just wrong... The fries were good at least, didn't make up for the rest of the meal though. Not anywhere close to how it usually is there. Definitely disappointed. Waited 35 minutes watching waiters casually walk in and out never acknowledging us until my husband complained and were able to place our drink order with assurances that we would be able to place our food order in a couple minutes.
