The atmosphere and food here are top-notch. The service was very attentive and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Ashland.

Visited for an event that we're having and let me tell you...I have to come back! First of all, the chef and workers were so sweet and the food was delicious. I also love the inside, it's very cute and gives a "home-y" type feel. Since it was an event, they catered a few dishes. I had the chicken salad, caprese sandwich, Caesar salad, prosciutto quiche, and an assortment of desserts. Everything was so good! I was very surprised at the chicken salad -- it was extremely good and I loved the flavor of the added cranberries! The Caesar was fresh and I loved the mix of leafy greens. One of the desserts I had was a lemon bar and it was probably the best lemon bar I've EVERRRR had -- like wow. I definitely have to visit again!

Stopped by on our way through Ashland. I always try to look for local restaurants to eat at. This place is SO FULL OF FLAVOR. The pizzas and meatballs are to die for. Very welcoming staff! Calm and cozy vibes.

We stopped in for dinner, and the restaurant was not crowded at all. The staff was incredibly welcoming and gracious with suggestions regarding the menu. You have to order at the bar and then find a seat and they bring it to you then you have to pay at the bar when you leave. Not my favorite style of service. The restaurant filled up quickly after we arrived with a lot of families with younger children. Once the restaurant got more crowded, it appeared the staff was stretched a little thin and struggled to remember requests for ketchup, a box for leftovers, etc. I had the meatballs and the steak frites, which both were delicious. We had the cocktail of the day which was a watermelon vodka cocktail - it had the makings of a great cocktail, but it appeared the proportions were off.

We had a great lunch today at Ash & Olive in Ashland, Virginia! We have lived in this area for years but this was our first visit here and we have truly been missing out! I had the Pumpkin Soup and it was absolutely amazing! The bowl size was perfect and very filling. My husband had The Dangerous Type Pizza and it was delicious! The pizza was the perfect size for him. The atmosphere was really cozy and relaxing. Our server was really nice and the food came out quickly! So glad we found Ash & Olive today!

My first time in downtown Ashland and I didn't wait to leave. I was Immediately greeted by the warm and friendly staff. I loved the art wall and the seating that allows you to see the heart of downtown Ashland. Thank you to Charles who made the perfect pairing suggestions to go with my wine. I stopped in for a happy hour and stayed for everything else, such a beautiful restaurant. Seeing the train go through downtown was such a treat as well.

I loved eating at this cute little gem of a restaurant in downtown Ashland. You can sit inside in the modern and spacious yet cozy dining area and watch the trains roll by. Their menu is impressively large for a restaurant that mainly serves pizza- and has something for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. They have rotating specials and daily dessert options. The drinks menu is what sets this restaurant apart as well. They have European wines, beers, and a rotating cocktail list made with high quality ingredients. Overall- I've been there multiple times and plan to go back often.

Charming Dining Experience at Ash & Olive Nestled in the adorable small town of Ashland, right by the railroad track, Ash & Olive offers a unique and peaceful dining experience where you can watch the train pass by as you enjoy your meal. The ambiance is both nostalgic and modern -- the space is large, beautifully decorated, and evokes a perfect blend of the past and present. The menu is impressively varied, with something for everyone. We usually don't go for sandwiches when dining out, but the descriptions on this menu were so enticing that we gave them a try -- and we're so glad we did! They were absolutely delightful. The Paradiso sandwich was the standout for me -- flavorful and perfectly balanced -- while my husband really enjoyed the Italian and said it was one of the best he's had. Overall, Ash & Olive is a hidden gem that combines great food, a warm atmosphere, and a charming view. Highly recommend if you're in or near Ashland!

Ashland is finally getting some decent restaurants. Ash & Olive has good pizzas and the vibe is nice. The steak frites were a little boring though...needs some sauce or something. :)

Great place for drinks and snacks! Whipped Feta is great and cocktails are phenomenal. Love looking at the local art and watching the train pass.

An adorable restaurant tucked in Ashland, it certainly brings a farm-oriented menu to the Richmonder palette! The cultured butter and bread were light and had the perfect fluffy texture. The meatball dish tasted very fresh and encapsulated flavorful heartiness. Although the Bocado sandwich was by far the star of the show. It was the perfect pairing of serrano jamon with the fillings, creating a satisfying sweet and savory sandwich. Overall, a 4.7/5.

What a great decision! When you walk in, you immediately notice that all of the wines are beautifully displayed -- it doubles as a wine shop, which gives it such a warm and welcoming vibe. It feels cozy but elevated at the same time. They don't offer flights for groups larger than five, but we were able to order one dealer's choice flight based on our preferred flavor profiles. From there, we could select a bottle inspired by the flight. A few of us gravitated toward reds. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable -- we told her the flavor profiles we liked, and she brought out three reds to try. The Wade & Wayfarer Pinot Noir was our favorite (so good!), though a bit pricier. We also tried the Alkoorai Cab/Merlot blend, which ended up being our least favorite. Ultimately, we chose the Denner Nightshade GSM -- excellent pick. Bonus tip: if you purchase a bottle $50 or more, there's no corkage fee; under $50, there is. Our waitress also mentioned that South American Merlots are the best Merlots as we all mentioned Merlot tends to be more dry. A few in our group ordered the Masterpiece Theatre cocktail on our waitress's recommendation -- she did not steer us wrong! Food-wise, everything was a hit. Our friends ordered the Cacio e Pepe burrata, pickled shrimp, Caesar salad, mushroom and leek flatbread, and the Brie and pear flatbread (both flatbreads were huge!). They loved every dish. My husband and I shared the bread with olive oil (simple and delicious), the charred octopus (tender with amazing flavor), gnocchi Bolognese, and lamb chops. Everything was fantastic -- the only small note was that the lamb could've been a bit more rare -- but still very flavorful. By the end of the night, all six of us agreed we'd absolutely be back. We're even looking into their wine club -- $60/month for two bottles (pickup required at the shop), which honestly sounds like a great deal. Apparently, they change up their wine flights weekly, which makes it even more fun and gives us a reason to return. Such a great experience all around -- can't wait to go back and try more wines!

They like what they are doing. It's in a strip mall parking lot so parking is pretty easy; if it's crowded, you might not be able to park right in front of the restaurant but there's still plenty of parking. We chose flights of wine to start out and really enjoyed each of the three we picked. For appetizers we got the pumpkin hummus and the Muhammara which is a roasted red pepper and walnut dip with toasted pita. My friends enjoyed their hummus, and my husband, and I thought the pepper and walnut dip were out of this world. We wanted more for dinner. The pita was the perfect crispiness and accompaniment for the dip. Having had limp pita at another restaurant recently makes me especially locked in on this detail lol For mains we got the duck confit tacos, the gnocchi bolognese and the hippie chick salad with roasted salmon. My friend enjoyed her salad, but I forgot to ask how she liked the roasted salmon on top. It looked tasty and was something I was considering for next time. I got the duck confit tacos which were definitely different from your standard fare and had a nice kick to it without being overwhelming. On my first bite I thought it was gonna be too spicy, but the heat did not build to unbearable. Still not sure I'm a fan of duck, but it was done very well and I wasn't disappointed. My husband's gnocchi Bolognese was done perfectly. I was shocked how light and pillowy the gnocchi were and loved the Bolognese, which was the perfect amount of savory without being too rich; elevated comfort food for sure . We were too full from dinner to order dessert which kept our bill down to a little over one Benji for drinks, one appetizer and two beans, , which is pretty typical for a nice meal out these days. I do miss the days when you could go out for $30-$45 a person even with a shared appetizer and drinks but WW is more on the reasonable side compared to most. We will definitely be back though and Iwoll be investigating the private room option for a milestone birthday or anniversary. Well done WW!

I had just come from a hair appointment down the street and on my way back to my car, I noticed Sangria advertised on the mini sandwich board outside. I'm a HUGE fan of a glass of fruity Sangria on a hot day! The fact that it was Happy Hour with $5 glasses made it even easier to draw me inside!! When I explained this was my first visit, they explained the Curio concept, the various areas for sitting, sipping and gathering as well as the Curio Card process. They even had a small but really intriguing menu of various snacks, from charcuterie to flatbread and even dessert. The menu changes a couple times a month, making me want to plan more visits! The staff offered me sips of each so I could decide on a Sangria flavor. Despite not being a Moscato fan, I chose the Moscato Mule Sangria. It was light, refreshing and had the Moscow Mule flavors with the added sweetness of Moscato wine. I wandered into the cellar to explore more wine offerings and wound up running into fellow educators and their friends I had never met. We chatted like we were catching up and laughed about shared birthdays and teaching!! They invited me to hang with them, but I had to get home for Dog Mom Duty. We exchanged numbers so we could plan another "run-in" downtown SOON! If you haven't visited Curio, I HIGHLY recommend it. Bring a friend, or plan on making a few. Next time, I'll be ordering food with my wine and lingering much longer! Thanks for a great end to my week. See y'all soon! Cheers!

I liked the margherita and the spinach ricotta. We also ordered a charcuterie plate after our server suggested it instead of the olives. Sadly it only had four olives on the plate, so we rationed. I wasn't a super huge fan of the plate, as it was heavy on crackers. I would've liked to see more variety for the price, including perhaps some fresh bread and more pickles. We were seated promptly, no awkward hovering, and our waitress showed up friendly, sharp, and knowing her way around the menu--which is a quality that ought to be listed right next to "clean silverware." We started with the crab and corn chowder, and let me say this right now: the crab was not there for decoration. It announced itself. Big flavor, no apologies, the way crab chowder ought to be. Second round was the smoked salmon salad. Perfect. The salmon was excellent, but that tarragon caper dressing had a way of making you slow down and think about life choices. I would put that dressing on just about anything that didn't move fast enough. For the main event, I chose the scallops, and I am prepared to testify they were as good as any I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, sitting pretty with an aioli that knew its job and did it well. My wife ordered the beef medallions, and I'll admit this with humility: looking back, I may have chosen wrong.
