Has always been excellent except for this time. I travelled over 45 min from battleground to get there just to get 2 large pizzas then ended up being very greasy. The pizza was very thick dough that was soggie and oily. Was good in the past but this time I completely wasted over 50 dollars on very disappointing pizza. Not worth the 45 min drive to take it back otherwise I would have. First time there and let me say. From the start friendly staff. Got a table pretty quick. Took a few minutes for the waiter to come up and help us but he was friendly and at the same time seemed really jumpy and fast to leave . We got a small pizza which is 14 inches and that's a big pizza. Seeing that dominos 14 is a large. Pizza was great and the wings were awesome . And honestly the prices aren't that bad. Think about it a pizza joint charges you about the same . But here you get fresh cheese pizza , and the food came out in less then 10 minutes . Definitely coming back. read more

Giuseppe is what I would call a Rockwood institution in a neighborhood that is mainly Hispanic. Most of the menu here is really average, but what they do right, is why you would go here. Mostly that is the pizza. It is large and heavy and two pieces will fill you up. Everything about this pizza is good, crust, sauce, toppings and well worth the $20+ price. Other favorites here are the lunch sandwiches, meatball, chicken parm, and Italian sausage. These are really meant to serve 2 people. They make their own bread and then fill them up with goodness. Service is not the best, unless you are a regular and the atmosphere is very tired and old school. I do take out here for the pizza. If you order from the dinner menu you do get a huge plate of antipasto before you meal that will fill you up. Pasta with red sauces are better then those with white ones and dinner salad are average. I'd driven by this place 100 times and never tried it out until this day. I came in on a Saturday around 3pm for a little lunch. I came in through the lounge area which had TVs on every wall with sports on all of them which was great! The super kind waitress/bartender suggested the chicken parmigiana and a side of spaghetti. I trusted her and was disappointed with my order. The spaghetti was great, the bread it came with was ok but the chicken Parmesan was not good. I started on one end of the side dish it came in and it was burnt, had no flavor and reminded me of something that was made last week and just heated up in the microwave. I attempted to eat half of the dish hoping that the middle would be better to no avail. The total cost of this was originally 15 dollars but the was comped 6 bucks my the waitress making it 9 bucks for a side salad and spaghetti. We just got back from Italy, and ALREADY CRAVING some good Italian foods! Had lunch at Guiseppe's Italian Restaurant and Lounge last Sunday. We ordered typical Italian American food: spaghetti with meat sauce, spaghetti with meatballs, minestrone soup, and a tossed salad. What arrived at our table was pretty much as expected - the food was a bit spicier specially the dressing than we prefer, but still very good. The portions were large enough to take home for another meal - so we had two meals for the price of one! The service staff was young and very smiley and friendly and listens to us. She was talking about going to French, and she looks like a she should be working @ a FRENCH restaurant & I told her so, instead of one Italian Restaurant, but she said there weren't many of those here. The restrooms were first class - new and clean. All in all, a delightful and inexpensive meal. BTW: We were talking about Italian foods, and in Italy, they fed us enough YOU DON'T NEED a doggy bag! Now back in the states, we always ask for a doggy bag. If restaurants give smaller portions, Americans would complain! LOL Also, we were listening to 70's music in the background, and we thought . . . . this is Italian, why no Italian music? But we dined in Italy, and they were playing ELVIS! We're back in the USA! So, I won't whine about the music here. Why the 1 negative star? In ALL ITALIAN restaurants in Italy, they ALWAYS have olive oil & balsamic vinegar on each table, just as you'd find Soy Sauce in Chinese restaurants! Shitty SMALL portions and when I asked about id got some bullshit excuse of a dishwasher quitting on Father's Day, which was weeks ago The Alfredo sauce was runny and in no way comparable to what I've had in the past. You change your portion sizes but the price is no different. If this is the way you choose to do business I will never come back and will tell everyone I know how shitty you have become. No to mention a sever named Beth that had nothing but a bad attitude when asked about the portions. Seriously disappointed. I hope this is a one time fuck up and no how you continue to do business. It's always hard to write these kind of reviews. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Giuseppe. They have mastered the recipe for success for them, and it would be mean spirited to compare them to anybody else, and you just can't argue with success in a difficult and demanding business. I came in for lunch after working on a project at the library next door where I can check out Chromebooks (those are some slick little laptops, one I hope to buy soon). Having been raised in a family business, I see success through different eyes such as in a brand spanking new parking lot, and this is great curb appeal. The interior is dated, old school, but immaculately clean everywhere. Their staff members are all nicely dressed, polite, and friendly. Your takeout order or getting you seated is taken care of rapidly. Same with taking orders, getting your order to you in the correct way, and being sure the food is piping hot. I ordered spaghetti from the senior citizen's menu in order to get an appropriate portion Someone mentioned very large portions in another review, and I had to walk home already carrying a bag of checked-out books. Carrying leftovers would be tricky. The food was tasty (soup, garlic bread, antipasto plate, spaghetti, and spumoni ice cream) and what I've always called "spaghetti dinner" food, both comforting and delicious, and so like the food I've gotten at St. Rita's Catholic Church here in Portland during their spaghetti dinners. O-M-G!! Best pizza by far in Gresham area with the customer service to match! The interior is plush and the vibes are so chill it makes you want to just slip your shoes off an relax for a few hours! Family owned since 1982 you can tell that people just love this place. Sit in or order a pizza for take-out. The place is huge. It also can get crowded on big nights like a Friday. Plan accordingly. You can get all kinds of pasta here. Spaghetti- with or without meatballs, lasagna, Alfredo pasta. House made gnocchi. Chicken parmesan. All of the staples are here. The thing is though....the pizza is what people really come here for! We had a large between two people. It was huge. I think we ate the rest for two more days after we took it home. Price was great too. Somewhere around $21. Sausage, mushroom, and garlic. MMMMmmmm. They load up the cheese on the pizzas. Stringy and messy. Yum Yum. Caesar salad was decent. They also had antipasto and some other salad choices to start you off. We use to come here at least once a month but over the past year the quality of the food has gone downhill it taste like canned pasta sauce the ravioli were under cook and the chicken was like eating a rubber duck. the portion were fair sized but not worth the price. The meat calzone we got was brunt and had very little in fillings. Stopped here on a saturday afternoon and ordered some fettuccini and some chicken parmigiana to go. To go is not the way to go here. Is this place under new ownership? By the time I got home i realized that I was missing anti pasta and 2 containers of soup. What i got was fettuccini with clumps of cheese, great parmigiana, one salad with no dressing for $42. The pizza is amazing!!! So much pepperoni! The alfredo sauce is delicious. The chicken parmesan was a little to smothered in alfredo sauce and cheese for me, but my husband liked it. By far our favorite pizza in the area. Update: Consistent quality is becoming a problem. The Alfredo sauce has been water thin a couple times now, and when we order larger sized pizzas ($$), they don't seem to be prepared with as much care (way to much sauce and cheese) and not cooked enough (the centers are still almost doughy it's so chewy, no one would eat the ends of the slices and the toppings would slide right off). We were seated with nothing but food menus, no water, no wine list and waited almost 10 min for someone to come by. The Fettucine Alfredo had no taste. The staff Break table was on the other side of a short wall from where we were sitting , and they were laughing and talking, even swearing, as if they were in a private room- so loud!! The white sauce in the mushroom ravioli is literally warmed up cream of mushroom soup. The chicken in marsala wine sauce is garbage. At least we have garlic bread and soup. This is a charming Italian/pizza place that has great food. The cheesy garlic bread is amazing (I order a full loaf with their house-made ranch on the side for my family). I also get their meat pizza which is pretty good. Having never had a bad experience here both food and service wise, I'd suggest it to anybody. My wife and I called in an order to pick-up late afternoon/early evening on Thursday July 28th, 2022. One small veggie pizza, One large Combo pizza and a pasta order. The person that took the order was obviously unfamiliar with the menu and asked no questions nor did they repeat the order to us. My wife called in the order, wrote down what the order was and I went in to pay and pick it up. One male employee immediately noticed the side included in the pasta order was not there so I choose that on-the-spot. He said "our trainee took the order, sorry about that". That is fine, they fixed it and all was good. The small veggie pizza was made incorrectly. The combo pizza was small instead of large. So everything in the order was wrong. A young female (blond/brown hair - slightly curled), maybe in high school or college was at the counter when I discovered the wrong order and I told her all the mistakes. She was obviously not believing me. She said "let me go ask what they were told". I was in disbelief I was being questioned about what I ordered. My wife who took the order is extremely exact plus I heard her place the order. The employee returned from the back and said "yea...they said they were told a small", then she stood there like I just need to take the order as-is without question and I was trying to play a scam or something on them. I started telling her, no this is not what we ordered, holding the piece of paper my wife had wrote out reading her the correct order. The employee said, and I quote "Sir, we can't just go by a piece of paper you brought in". I was then furious and in disbelief. I said, "you're right, it's not just a piece of paper, it's what we ordered...it's what we want. I heard the order being placed!!". She still just stood there looking at me like I was a crazy person. I asked "How are we going to fix this",. She then grudgingly said: "we can give you a discount". I told her "I don't want a discount, I want the correct food I ordered". She said "We can make you a new pizza, it will take 20 min. or I can give you a discount". I didn't have 20 min. so I took the discount and left with most of my order wrong. I've been a customer at Giuseppe's for over 20 years. Never did I think the customer would not only be wrong, but also discounted as not knowing what they are talking about. The trainee getting the order wrong I understand. The procedure and attitude on how to deal with it is beyond unacceptable.
