I had never been to the Horseheads location, but had heard good things about it. So I was happy when Giuseppe's opened in Corning. I met our City manager for a quick lunch, and an opportunity to catch up. We both ordered salads. I had the Caesar with chicken. He had the antipasto. The food came quickly and was quite good. Service was really good. Not much had changed since it was Cuigini's. Still had a center section where the staff worked with tables all around. Quite a few people eating lunch. A good sign read more

We are here because it came up first for gluten free menu. There was not a gluten free menu that I saw. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. The chicken was a a little tough. The vinaigrette was 2/3 oil. My husband had a hoagie! We had the gluten free chocolate cake for dessert - yummy!! Foodwise, everything else was ok. Service was great. Ambiance was nice. Suggestions: -Make sure Italian dressing is mixed before putting into cups. Mine was mostly vinegar. -Find a different vendor for chicken. The chicken quality doesn't match the price of the dish. We had chicken piccata and pesto chicken alfredo. Chicken was weird in the piccata but even weirder in the pesto. Tough, chewy, -Chicken piccata needs a lot less lemon. Service was fast and friendly. Food wasn't bad enough where we felt that we needed to complain. Pasta texture was perfectly el dente. I have worked in many different Italian restaurants, so my standards are a bit high. We ordered take out today and our order was Not very good. Over Priced, Small Portions. The same cheap Pre made Meatballs that a lot of other restaurants use. Italian sausage taste old, not spoiled, but like Walmart meat. I had only enough sauce to cover half of my pasta. I expected better from an Italian restaurant. read more

Very good Italian food. My wife had veal parmigiana and I had Giuseppe's Choice. The ambiance is informal.

Everything was wonderful & cooked perfectly. Busy, family place. Great pizza by the slice & other specials.

We thought it was a pizza place. We are on a long weekend to visit the Corning glass museum and our choice for dinner fell through. We wanted a quick and easy solution so we resigned ourselves to pizza, and there was guiseppe's. What a shocker, it looks like a pizza place but smells much better. Mario the man hustled to get us a table. The bread was great, crusty.and yeasty. Full menu, lots of smiles (including the staff) the salads were fresh and crispy. I had pasta Primavera my wide had chicken Piccata. We're from Boston and spoiled by Italian food in the north end this place we every bit as good. Perfect spot for pre race carb loading! Found Giuseppe's after picking up my bib for Wineglass Marathon. Packed with runners at lunchtime and every dish looked amazing. I throughly enjoyed my personal pizza! Staff was very friendly! read more

Stopped here cuz it had a good number of patrons (compared to other places along this street) AND we like Italian. Turns out they just opened a month ago. Overall, just OK... we've had better. Waitress had a bit of an attitude toward us (and others). Kinda felt like young waitress vs older customers. Anyway, lasagna was pretty basic with very heavy red sauce. Chicken parm was not done well - rubbery chicken with tendons left in breast thus unpleasant (actually I make better parm than they did). A bit pricey so expected higher quality. I would normally give Giuseppe's five stars , but today (although it was delicious and my three other guests agreed), I was a tad miffed ordering my food. I am a vegetarian, so when I order a pasta dish I would like to be able to purchase a reasonably priced add on of my choice just like the average meat eater can add sausage or meatballs. I asked for eggplant, which is like a meat for a vegetarian. Giuseppe's is literally the best fried eggplant I have ever had. I was turned down by the chef to have it added and was told I would have to purchase an entire appetizer of their fried eggplant (which is $9) to add to my plate of pasta which comes with salad and bread. I understand they often don't do substitutions when they are busy but this was two o'clock in the afternoon so it was busy, but hardly crazy at that point. So I had to figure out a way to have what I desired. I ordered the pasta lunch special for $10, and the fried eggplant appetizer, never got my bread, and didn't get a side salad which I would have liked to balance my meal. They would not put the appetizer on the plate of pasta and served it on a separate plate. Which crowded up our already crowded table with four of us. I wanted an eggplant pizza last week and they wouldn't do that either because it's not listed as a topping like it is in Horseheads. We love having our favorite Italian restaurant in our home community; but don't you think you might go out of your way to accommodate someone who has dietary needs. I feel it is the same when I don't want penne and they won't replace it with a spaghetti. Why? I don't like penne, but I like pasta primavera; but I can't have it the way I want it. I love your food. My family is from Calabria and these are the tastes of my childhood. So today, ultimately I almost got the lunch I wanted, but this should not happen. My favorite pizza is eggplant pizza and I literally can't order it from my favorite pizza place unless they decide it's a special. You are making it daily anyway, it's an appetizer. So you still made my pasta and you made the eggplant (way more than I would have needed by getting the generous appetizer) but I was forced to do it your way, didn't get a salad or the bread the pasta lunch special comes with. I love your restaurant, I love the ambiance, the food and the desserts. But as a vegetarian I would like the opportunity to add on a "meat" without having to pay for an entire appetizer. It would be nice if you would consider accommodating our needs too. read more

I've eaten here twice with different crowds and had a great time both times. Service was great and accommodated the various allergies at our table. I had two different pasta dishes and both were great -- I haven't seen anyone order something they didn't like here. And the deserts are to die for! Waitress was very friendly. Food was average. I got the Gaetano favorite. Sausage, meatballs, sauce and ricotta cheese. Meatballs tasted like frozen meatballs, sausage was chewy and did not have good flavor and the ricotta was too sweet tasting for the dish. It also was not very warm. The sauce was delicious. However I would expect house made meatballs at an Italian restaurant. read more
