Half eaten bread
Sohaib L.

Wow, what a gem. More people need to go try this place, only 90 some reviews is a shock. This place is incredible, very fresh food, serving size is incredible for the price. Hands out best Italian place for a quick bite and much better the local chain or sit down places. Seems most people do carry out, they only have 3 tables for dine in. The owner/ cashier was super nice and friendly. Only down side: given it's not a full dine in place you don't get someone waiting your table. Definitely going again and you should go try it today!

Lasagna

Okay, I heard a lot about the lasagna in this place. I went on the app and was able to order for a specific time which was very nice. When I got there my order was ready, nice and hot. For a small to go restaurant is decorated very nicely and I must say that it was extremely clean in the carryout area. Now for the lasagna, EXCELLENT ! LET ME SAY THEY AIN'T LYING.. LOL! It was delicious and served with an awesome garlic roll. I also got a side salad that was delicious, unlike other places, the salad actually had lots of veggies. It isn't just lettuce and a widget tomato, good job.

Chicken Parmisano, Garden Salad, Antipasto Salad, warm roll

I came across this spot on Uber Eats. I ordered based off the good ratings and was not disappointed. I've since ordered and picked up several more times. Everything is always very good. My husband loves Chicken Parmesan and says theirs is very good. The sauce is also excellent. As well as the salads. Nice & fresh. The inside of the restaurant is small with only a couple tables but it's very clean. I highly recommend!

The food here is absolutely amazing perfectly seasoned, fresh, and full of balanced flavor. Even the broccoli was incredible, with just the right crunch and seasoning. The fresh house bread melts in your mouth, and the chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked.

Stopped here last night on our way to MJR. Kind of quick order Italian. My husband and I shared the shrimp scampi and some cheese bread. Definitely was more than enough for two to share. The cheese bread had a nice cook/crispiness to it and the marinara was good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and I loved the peppers in the scampi. I did feel for me that the dishes could have used a little bit more salt/flavor. But overall it was good and I would stop in again when in the area.

Chicken parm with fettuccine and pomadoro sauce - chewy chicken and dry pasta
Erin K.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while and was unfortunately disappointed. Maybe it was because I got carried out, but my fettuccine with palomino sauce was incredibly dry, it appeared as if it had been reheated it was that dry. And the chicken parmesan had an unpleasant chewy texture. On the plus side my husband enjoyed his lasagna.

Wonder why your food has hair in it?!?

I'm going to make this as short as I can to explain everything. Unfortunately I was very ill on my fiance's birthday. I couldn't drive. I couldn't even get out of bed. So the one thing I wanted to do for him was order him the best Italian food I could think of. The first thing that popped in my head was of course here ... Needless to say, this place will never receive my business again. I had it door dashed and underneath the special request which they include on the bottom and ask if you would like utensils, special allergy requirements, etc. I listed how important this dinner was. I even ordered a cake for his birthday and I even put in the notes that it was my fiance's birthday. Please make it extra special. I will even pay more if I have to. I've done this many times with other businesses and never seem to have a problem before. Usually they go above and beyond to make a special day special. Not here. Not only did my dinners cost over $50 for two people and that's including buy one get one free dinner. That is absolutely ridiculous. The ravioli was pretty basic. Bland and wasn't stuffed enough and drenched in sauce. The roles that I used to love were hard as a rock. I couldn't even bite through them. And the cake that I had ordered never even came. Even though I mentioned several times how important the cake was. They didn't forget about the cake because guess what? They charged my credit card. No problem for it. As soon as it arrived. I called the restaurant and she proceeded to apologize and she said to me that she's staring at the cake right now. Are you kidding me? Nice way to rub it in. I could barely understand her and I requested a refund and told her how important this dinner was and how unfortunate and sad I was that they messed it up and messed up his day because who has a birthday without cake!!! Not only did I request a refund on my cake that I never got but they still haven't refunded my money and I've called everyday so far and nothing. She proceeded to tell me the next day that she told the owner. Well, if this is true, wouldn't an owner of a business reach out to a customer that is absolutely disgusted in their establishment. No not them. They could care less. Not to mention the long hair that has been in my food from them on more than two occasions. They even posted pictures of this lady's hair inside the beef patties as she's mixing them. It was gross on their Facebook page. Not a really good promotion for anybody. This place is nothing like what it used to be. I'm going to stick to what I know.... and that is not here but I recommend Luigi's, Andiamo's and Mr. Pauls some of the best you could ever have. But as for here I urge you to please go somewhere else. They did absolutely nothing to fix my issue. My problem or refund my money. I can't think of anything nice to say about this place anymore. This place should be out of business and I hate to say that but it's true. As for the ambience, I felt like I was doing nothing but inconvenience the staff for ordering food from them. It's really sad when you have a business and serve customers, but you never take care of the customer.

chicken parm with alfredo
Michael T.

Looking for quick dinner after Troy kid state fair. Was in a caloric deficit for the day and wanted something fatty and boy was this great. Perfectly baked chicken Parm on top of a bed of spaghetti with alfredo. Cheesy. Fatty. Savory. Two pieces of toasted bread. Hit the spot. We did eat in but just know if you do that there is only about two tables and depending on the time will be a line of people which could make for a less than perfect dining experience in this small hole in wall Italian restaurant. Service was good given how busy they were.

New Caprese salad!

Small place with big flavor and kind staff. Sandwiches were delicious and big! Everything tasted fresh. Will definitely try them again.

What a nice little place!…read more The menu is really nice, with great options and LOTS to choose from. Very chill spot with a nice vibe. Have been a couple of times; both were take-out, and they pack their orders really well. They a good selection of tea, milk teas. The Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea are on my "must try" list. Lots of frozen drinks and matchas. We Tried: Steak Fried Udon Egg Fried Rice Bok Choy with Garlic Sauce Pork Xiao Long Bao Braised Pork Rice Bowl Mango Crepe Cake (stand out) All tasted fresh and had good flavor. Prepared well. The Bao's were the smaller dumplings and didn't travel as well, but the flavor was still quite good (Bao don't travel that well, even only 2 miles). Would definitely recommend. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu. Can't beat it for an excellent weeknight takeout or a dine-in.

However after placing our order on the screen, the two iced latte drinks came out with no espresso added? Apparently on the ordering screen you have to CHOOSE to add espresso, which is counterintuitive because then it's just sugar milk. Anyways that was fixed and my bubble fruit tea was good. I appreciate all the ways to personalize the tea and it's Good that they have non dairy drinks options! The staff person kinda awkwardly set the tray on our table and left - she didn't hand out the drinks to us, which is kind of weird? The cake we ordered took awhile to come out even though it was right there in the display - and I even inquired about it. we were done with our drinks by the time it came out - so it wasn't great timing and we were just over it. The spoons were cute but way too small to enjoy anything - my kiddo liked it though for a few bites. I feel like this was just for ambience and not really sustenance, not sure if I would come back. Maybe for the noodles or other foods but there's lot of other options nearby! They also advertise pizza on their front sign but I didn't see any on the inside menu...? Easy lot parking - watch out for the large pothole up front though!

My niece has celiac and we ordered from here multiple times for delivery. We ordered pizzas, salad, cheese bread, dessert, macaroni, and more. Renee's has been a trusted spot in our home for years because they make it so easy to order safely. They clearly list all ingredients and allergens on their website, and as someone who deals with gluten and dairy restrictions, I genuinely appreciate that level of care. This time, I ordered through DoorDash and the food arrived quickly and still warm. We tried a variety of things, and one of the standouts was the deep-dish meat lovers pizza with vegan cheese. The crust had that chewy texture I've deeply missed since going gluten-free. It held up beautifully under layers of sauce, melty vegan cheese, and a generous helping of toppings. Bold, rich, and hearty. The chicken wrap surprised me--in a good way. It had a satisfying chew and was packed with toppings and flavor. I also got their cheese flatbread, which had a crispy edge and that deliciously soft center. Now, the fries? Not great. Soggy and under seasoned. My son picked at them but didn't ask for more. Definitely not their strong suit. But the elephant ears made up for it. Warm, sweet, lightly crisp, and topped with just the right amount of icing--they were the perfect way to end the meal.

I'm sorry, but I don't get the rave reviews. I HATE not giving positive reviews but start making a…read moreless-than-acceptable pizza at a ridiculous price and you get my attention in the wrong way. As a New Haven pizza fan, the REAL kind, I was extremely disappointed. I know that after having eaten the real New Haven (Pepe's, Sally's, and Modern), I need to tighten down my expectations, but come on! They have these beautiful ovens, a nice, clean, and pleasant place and they turn out what I would consider pizza no better, perhaps a little less good than Hungry Howies thin crust pizza! New Haven is supposed to be crispy and chewy, NOT soggy. I tried Farmington Hills a few months ago and ate in, then last week tried Birmingham and carried out. For those of you thinking that my carry-out experience may have been bad due to the 3 miles I had to drive home, but I've carried out a LOT of pies from a LOT of locations, and I DO take that into account. There are some positives: The ingredients were impeccable. Fresh, high-quality cheese and the mushrooms were done really well. The pepperoni was of good quality but nothing worth writing home about. There are a lot of great pepperonis in the area. The doneness was great. It wasn't over- or undercooked. The flavor was good, but not, as some have said, amazing. In both cases, the crust was limp and soggy, NOT chewy and crispy. Not in the least. I don't mind if it's a little bit floppy, but not like this. An analogy I might give is to compare Tomatoes Apizza to Modern Apizza in actual New Haven is like comparing Jets Pizza to Loui's. Jet's is fine, but Loui's! (If you know, you know). To me, Modern in New Haven is at par, and not to be sacrilegious to our beloved Detroit Style, with Loui's or Palazzo Di Pizza, so it's not a style issue. My two experiences were both the same, so I don't know what to think. I'll give them one more try at some point.

There was more bread to eat through than toppings and that was disappointing. For the pizza where no meat was requested and they said they couldn't do a substitution, you would've thought they'd add extra cheese or whatever other sauce they put on the pizza. I did request this over the phone but the background was extremely loud, so it may have been missed.
