    Side salad and bread service

Updated for another great experience. Dined outside and Meghan couldn't have been a better server! Our favorites shared: Chicken Francese, side salad and side pasta with Palomino sauce - all delish. See you again - sooner!

The salad was so good, the romano dressing was delicious, the garlic bread was breathtakingly fabulous! The olio aglio was not amazing but I mean that's what you get when you order garlic noodles. service was amazing, and the ambiance was as well. Had a bite of my sisters bolognese and I would recommend that the most.

Service was excellent and our waitress Megan was truly the highlight of the experience. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel really taken care of throughout the meal. The food overall was good but not great. I was hoping for more of a cozy, mom-and-pop, old-school Italian vibe, and it didn't quite hit that mark for me in terms of atmosphere or depth of flavor. One standout, though, was the tiramisu...absolutely delicious and easily the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, one downside worth mentioning is that my friend became sick afterward and believes it was from the mussels she ordered. Obviously that can happen anywhere, but it did put a damper on the experience. Overall, excellent service and a great dessert, but the food and atmosphere didn't fully live up to expectations.

I've been going here for twenty years. Best place to eat in Birmingham. The minestrone soup is to die for. I busted a for the garlic bread. Incredible ambience that makes you feel you are in Italy

Really really cute place. Super cozy and inviting and warm. Reallly loved the pesto the most, simple but delish. Our server was great! Oh you're too full from pasta?!! Suck it up and get the cobbler. Diet starts tomorrow. Don't play yourself

Starting off with the amazing that Sals starts you off with free bread. I had the lasagna and meatballs and it tastes just like your grandma made it. A very traditional meal, nothing too crazy but hearty. The ambiance is great and exactly what you'd expect from an American Italian restaurant

The staff is very friendly and the service is great, but I've been here a few times and just always found the food to be very lacking. I ordered the pomodoro, you might be better off experimenting with something else. There's a main dining room but it's nice to sit in the front section with window seating if you're able to swing it, it's a nice, bright view.

Got bolognese, noodles were overcooked and wet with water. Sauce was diluted and had minimal flavor . Bread was tough as cardboard.

You know damn well Yelpers that the number 1 rule about doing these reviews is this: NEVER DELIVER. It's just not the right way to experience it. You need the conversation, you need the interior, you need the cashier asking if you'd like to tip. (You know I'm joking, they don't ask. My fellow Berklians know that I ALWAYS tip 20%) When I walked in this couple already looked like they got into it. Atleast I know that if it's not love, or sadness being put into my pizza; it's ANGER. Beat that dough and smash those tomatoes. Slap that mootz onto that fresh pie, spank it a little. If your head doesn't look the color of a San Marzano making my pie... don't even bother. The crank hands me and my girlfriend the garlic bread. Bro. This might actually be some of the best bread I've ever had. It's like Canes with their sauce. Garlic bread is an incredibly overlooked component to a good pizza and I'm so happy that they put there ALL into making the best possible cheese bread. So delicious, it melts! The pizza was quite floppy, albeit, that was probably on me for leaving it in the box for more than 10 minutes. But the crust is chewy, the taste is pretty good. Tomatoes were a little bland, but that's probably a compliment to the cheese; like, hey look at me, f*** the tomato- look at me! I'm buffalo mozzarella, look how good I am. The penne pasta we got was VERY sweet, and cooked to perfection! The sauce was so sweet it almost tasted like it was TOO sweet. I literally had to add SALT to it like when should anyone ever have to do that to something overpowered by sweetness? Me of course cause clearly I wasn't thinking. It turned out to be spectacular though. I liked Grano, pretty good pizza at a monstrous price. But you can't deny, CLEANEST kitchen in the whole U.S. and definitely a lot of care put into their craft. There are 100% some maestro's coming out of that walk-in everyday, and like Tony Soprano's psychiatrist said, hope comes in many different forms. I love Italian-America, it's so dedicated. (4/5)

We were sat at a table and not given any menus. Finally had to ask for menus after being seated for 15 minutes. Didn't get a cocktails until after 30 minutes of being there. Guest ordered an aperol spritz which is on the menu along with umbrellas outside with aperol written on them, however the restaurant doesn't have aperol. They brought a galliano spritz but advertise Aperol, very weird. Also always weird to me when servers have no clue who ordered what and ask the table. Maybe it's because I was a high end server in college. Beef Carpaccio was delicious. Pasta was tasty. Chicken was also nicely done, I didn't enjoy the veal and would not recommend. Big wine selection which was nice. Desserts were nice but limited menu with only 3 traditional options. Food was good enough I would consider going back but service was quite poor and most concerning is that the restaurant was only half full due to holiday weekend. If the restaurant was full, service likely would have been far worse.

They offer a homemade gluten free crust made from rice, potato and tapioca flour, and it was honestly excellent. We ordered two pizzas. One regular and one gluten-free and both were delicious. Our entire group especially praised the gluten free pizza, which is saying something because so many places use premade GF crusts that just don't compare to a good traditional pizza. This location is primarily a takeout spot and is pretty small, so there isn't really seating inside. Since we were walking around the Dream Cruise, we were lucky enough to find a bench outside and camped out there to enjoy our pizzas. The staff was friendly, and one gentleman in particular came out several times to ask what we thought of the pizza. I believe he may have been the owner or manager, and you could genuinely tell he cared about his customers and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our experience. All in all, we had a great experience. Great pizza, excellent gluten free option, and genuinely friendly people. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area!
