My husband and I hired Git-R-Smoked for our wedding day, and had a mixed experience. Positives first - the food was fantastic, the price is exceptional, and I am forever grateful that Kevin and his team still showed up despite the unexpected snowstorm! Unfortunately, we did run into a few speed bumps along the way, however. For starters, the contract process was far from straight forward (make copies!) and communication was often hit and miss. Then, on wedding day we received appetizer trays that we had canceled a couple weeks prior ( I'm not certain we paid extra for this) and did not receive bussing service that I know we did pay extra for. While the meal was delicious, I'm not sure I would recommend Git-R-Smoked to other couples. read more

Jo and Kevin! Jon and I cannot thank you enough for the AMAZING expirience you gave us at our wedding. You guys handled everything and we didn't have to worry about a thing. I had to let my dress out a little bit because I had to go back for thirds. The brisket was to die for, the ribs were fall off the bone and that chicken omg!! We woke up for breakfast and had leftover chicken and that insanely amazing Satan sauce. Now that was a hangover cure for sure! We are still dreaming about that Mac and cheese and potato salad. After hearing nothing but good things about Git-R-Smoked, I've been hoping to have a reason to get them to cater an event so I could try their food! We were in charge of the food for a church Christmas party for ~175 people, so we reached out to Kevin to see if he was available. He was very responsive and easy to work with! The event went very smoothly - Kevin and Jolene took care of all the food set up and serving for our party, which allowed everyone to relax and enjoy the evening! Everyone raved about the food! My table had a debate on which was better - the chicken or the tri-tip - both were tender and flavorful! (We'll have to try their award-winning ribs another time!) The sides rounded out the meal well - awesome baked beans with just the right balance of sweet and savory, Mac-n-cheese (popular with the kids), salad, and rolls. These guys were at the Reno chicken wings festival. They had an eye catching booth so my friend and I got in line. The woman at the register tried to overcharge me...which could have been an honest mistake. As soon as I said something, she corrected it. However, when my friend ordered, she also tried to overcharge him. This seemed odd so we told the "boss" to make sure their system wasn't glitching. He got super defensive and wouldn't even listen to what happened. We were literally just trying to bring it to their attention in case there was a problem with their POS. Unfortunately, it appeared they didn't care to fix it or even hear what we had to say. Not only that, but they gave us the completely wrong order and argued with us when we mentioned that too. We eventually decided to cut our losses and just leave with the wrong order but man, talk about unprofessional from start to finish. I'm not sure if they're in the business of scamming people but they are definitely not interested in customer service. I can't imagine what it would be like if you hired them for a private event.
