Stay away. My mom, sister, and I have all had terrible experiences with her and her rude office staff. This is people's health we are talking about and I'm disgusted in the way they treat their patients. Years ago I had an xray for my back pain. They weren't able to give any explanations or findings so I wanted to try physical therapy and had to argue with her and her staff to get a simple referral for physical therapy. They played phone tag, were rude, and told me that I didn't need PT. So I found a new doctor, completed physical therapy, and my back pain is fully resolved. I won't go into my sister and my mom's medical conditions and issues with Gisi, but basically they have both finally decided to stop going to her. Way long overdue in my book. Because of their terrible customer service and poor excuse for running a business, my mom and her insurance company have not been able to reach the office and therefore has had major gaps in her medical care and has not been able to get her medications that she needs, at no fault of her own. Take my advice and find a doctor who wants to be your physician and not just take your money. read more

Dr. Gisi WAS a good, knowledgeable conscience, compassionate doctor in 2003. That's when I became her patient. I had just moved to the area and was so happy to have found her, I referred coworkers and friends to her. Then Dr. Gisi moved hurt practice location to New, fancy complex; it began to appear she was overlooking around 209/2010. However, the only issue I encountered was a bit longer waiting both in the reception area and the exam room. By 2011-2012 it seemed to me her behavior and demeanor was changing (e.g , spaced out). I was in my Podiatrist office, needing urgent foot surgery. He called her personally to getting PCP clearance Because she made a wrong assumption regarding my cardiologist (told podiatrist cardiologist moved out of town). So she referred me to a new cardiologist; thus new cardiologist just got my records from previous cardiologist; the Group of Cardiologist was still active in Murrierta). This wrong assumption, held up the foot surgery I needed longer than necessary. My belief is she just got too big for her britches wanting to 'help' build up new doctors but at her patient's expense. I started going to dr gisi about nine years ago and was very pleased, although her staff was unorganized and often rude. Not sure she just took on too many patients, or got greedy, but about two years ago everything went amok. I keept telling her there was something wrong with me as I was fatigued and could no longer walk as I had just a few months before (five miles a day at age 68). She kept telling me it was hormonal (and my age) and would make some adjustments to my hormone coverage. She always took blood tests but seldom looked at me when I would come in, reading only what was on the computer. No changes, except I continued to go downhill. When it got to the point that my friends were noticing, one took me to her cardiologist! Turns out I have a heart condition called MVD and (as a side note, we also found I had mild COPD) was greatly deprived of oxygen! I have now been working with my cardiologist and pulmonologist, and also have found a new PCP! I am up to 2 miles a day and getting stronger. Just joined an HMO and lost my previous doctor. I selected Dr. Gisi from the new HMO choices....before I saw these reviews. I'm in deep pain from a pinched nerve and called the office. Too bad, so sad is the attitude - hit the road, Jack....to the ER. I even dragged myself to the office on 1/6, hoping if they could see my pain, I'd get to see the doctor. Too bad, so sad...we can't help you, make an appointment. The earliest open date - March 20th. This is January 7th, my prescribed meds from ER are running out. Dr. Gisi's office is perhaps one of the most unprofessional and unorganized office I have ever been too. I don't go to Doctors offices very much, mainly because I believe I am in good health. But I recently relocated back to Temecula and was looking for a doctors office. Being a pharmacy technician I am aware of what doctors offices seem good. Dr Gisi was perhaps my 5th doctor in my area that I would try. Being that the first four were not accepting new patients. I do all my paperwork for them in advance (perhaps a month in advance) and they say they will call me when a spot opens up for me. Fast forward to a month. They call me to come in since they have an appointment. So I go in on a Tuesday. My appointment is at 10:30 am. I get there at 10:10 am just in case they have more things for me to fill out. They ask for my insurance so that can scan it. And I proceed to wait. It's not 10:30 am and that's my appointment time. Nothing. No call. No acknowledgement that it'll be another couple minutes. The two receptionist are there talking with some pharmaceutical reps while I'm waiting for them to call me. Finally I go up at 10:45 am and ask how much longer I have to wait since my appointment was 15 minutes ago. The receptionist goes and checks for me and comeback with a medical assistant and they proceed to take me back. It is now 10:40 am and I ask how long this will take cause I have prior engagements that I have to go to. And the medical assistant says it won't be super quick because the appointment is about 30 minutes long. I tel them that I have to go because they took to long and didn't inform me. I go to the front and tell them that I want to make sure that I won't get charged for this visit since I wasn't seen and made wait 15 minutes into my appointment. The receptionist then tells me that they had an elderly patient that set them back and I proceed to tell her that they could have informed me instead of socializing at work. She then makes me an appointment for March 22rd with the Nurse Practitioner since the Dr. Will be on vacation cause her daughter is graduating and they want to take this vacation cause it's her last year. The medical assistant tells her that she's certain I don't care. Which is true. I don't care. Fast forward to today March 21st 2016. They called me and just told me that they have to cancel because the Nurse Practitioner will be gone and she again tells me the Dr. Will be on vacation because her daughter is graduating high school. This is I relevant information. If I wanted to get to know the dr and her family I would be her friend. That's not the case here. I will not be coming to this Doctors office again and will definitely not recommend them to anyone. read more

Dr. Gisi is the primary physician for a friend I help who has had multiple strokes. I am on hold as I write this. This office has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. It takes at least 10 to 15 minutes, sometimes longer, to get a person on the telephone. After listening to a recorded advertisement for Dr. Gisi you will know her well. The "our office is closed" message is sometimes left on during Dr. Gisi's business hours. The office does not respond in a timely manner to pharmacy requests to refill medications. I am beside myself with this practice. And I am officially done trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. I used to only continue being treated by Dr Gisi because I found her to be professional and nice to her patients. After today, that is a NO. Today was the first time i felt dismissed, under treated and not taken seriously. This is my life. Dr Gisi made a comment that I did not "look" like a patient that best fitted what has been going on with me. Almost like telling a patient "you don't look sick." Ok well how about when we hang up and what I go through in the other 23 hours and 45 min we haven't spoken? I wanted to just end the appointment at a certain point because I didn't feel like I mattered. To top it off, when I called back to complain...I was in tears (still am) and her office had ZERO empathy or compassion. It's almost as if she hires adolescent teenage girls to pick up the phone. I felt as if I was going to be made fun of as soon as I got off the phone, just because I was crying. As a fellow healthcare provider, I would have asked what was wrong and if the person was OK. Nothing. To boot, they called back and the next girl was NO better. She was following up with my appt and I told her I will no longer be seeing Dr Gisi. I was still crying and she didn't ask if I was OK. She just got a little defensive and rude. I don't understand what has happened to hiring decent people to work in healthcare but it has gone down the tubes. I've never had great experiences here, mainly cause of Gisis staff, and AEB the other reviews, you can see I'm not the only one who thinks this. Her staff has been horrible from day 1. And now I have lost faith in her abilities to be a doctor, and more importantly an ADVOCATE for me as a patient. Please think twice before you come here. There are better places. read more

Have a hard time getting appointments and when I do I sit in waiting room for over an hour. One time they forgot about me completely. ****update**** Gave the office another try. This office screens their mistakes from the Dr. They forget to send prescriptions, and you have to make the calls through their phone tree to the appt desk in order to speak with someone,if you don't they will not listen to any messages and you cannot leave a voicemail for her,they will only pass a message on,written their way not the way it should be Also to speak to the dr. To let her know what is going on you have to make an appt. and it better be for an illness or the will not I repeat they will not make one. I have been a patient of Dr. Gisi for almost 8 years. I always have scheduling issues with this office so I really only able to go every other year. My last scheduled visit was for 9am on a Monday. Coming from the next city over I didnt realize all schools start at that time so I was stuck in traffic. I called to tell the office and they said to just come in. I got there 13 min late and went to sign in. I notice the person signed in before had a appointment time of 11am (almost 2 hours from the present time). When they called me over they told me I was 15 min late and the Dr. would not see me. I told the lady that I had called and I was only 13 min late and she said "Oh well we are already seeing another patient" Meaning the patient who's appointment wasnt until 11am that they called in WHILE talking to me!!! WTH. worst Staff, worst manners! Your doctor should be someone who has compassion and someone you feel safe with, I mean really you are putting your health (life) in this persons hands. This office treats you like an assembly line for profit. IN an OUT charge more money. It is clear that this office has one motive only, money. They will not refill scripts without making you come in every time, and not just antibiotics. We finally had to get another Dr. that we pay cash for just to do our scripts. I would say go elsewhere. We have been with Dr. Gisi for several years and have to say the quality of service has continued to decline. Most of all the patient concern. It seems she is mostly concerned with making money. They are constantly trying to bleed every penny out of you without really caring about your wellness. God forbid you pay for a visit and maybe even are required to do an in office test(even though the diagnosis is clear) and need another run on your antibiotics, they wont call it in. They will force you back to the office and force another test! Even though you were already diagnosed the first time. Dr. Gisi, not everyone has an extra $100-150 to throw out there. Its common practice to refill antibiotics for a second round! Between the lack of patient care and the pushing of vitamins and herbal products, its not a very compassionate office, its flat out business. read more

In 2001, I retired from the Marine Corps and relocated to Temecula. We asked around and found Dr. Gisi through many veteran referrals. In the past 15 years, I have found Dr Gisi to put my best interest first, even at the expense of her business. She has diagnosed and help treat some very serious conditions in my family including my 6-vessile emergency bypass, pacemaker and defibrillator implant. I literally trust Dr Gisi with my life and my ongoing health, as well as that of my family. She is in high demand as far as General Practitioners in the area. Selfishly, I hope anyone reading this chooses to go to a different doctor so my family can continue to see this wonderful and caring doctor at will. read more

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Sylvia Gisi since moving here 14 years ago. Yes, she has a very busy practice due to the fact she is an excellent doctor. I have referred several people to Dr. Gisi, all were treated very well by the staff and are confident in the doctors abilities. For those with negitive comments, FYI, with the way insurance is today, approval is required for many things, even changing your primary care physician. Approval takes time, a doctor has no control over this process. Also if you need to see a doctor in a day or two, those days are long gone. That's what urgent care is for. The doctor cares about her patients maintaining good overall heath, which is why the office carries nutritional products. All staff is always friendly, professional and proficient. I have seen Dr. Gisi three times now after going through several to find good healthcare. After reading some of the bad reivews, I almost didn't see her. But I am so glad that I saw for myself and didn't listen to the terrible reviews that some people left. I've gotten in to see her right away everytime I've called. She is very caring and listens to my concerns. She is very knowledgeable and we are on the same page. I love her Staff and Rod, (The Office Manager) is a real Gem. Stephanie who also works there has checked on me when I was feeling ill and is always available when I have any questions or concerns. I don't ever get a voice mail when they transfer me to her. The rest of the staff is just as good and caring. I don't know all of their names yet or I would have thanked them by name. I just wanted to say, "Don't listen to the bad reviews, and see for yourself how great that office is." I was in the medical field for over 25 years, so I think I can spot a good doctor when I see one. read more

I really, really tried to stay with Dr .Gisi but this week was the last straw. I've been trying to get an appointment since November (it's now mid-April) - and they have cancelled my appointment 4 times. Each time I call it's at least 4-6 weeks out, and this was not an emergency so I said okay. But then it's cancelled, and then another 4-6 weeks, and then cancelled... and now it's April, and I have yet to see the doctor. Two of those four times it was cancelled was because of her husband/office manager (Ron?) - he claimed I was not eligible for a visit because of insurance reasons and cancelled the appointment without figuring out that I did in fact have insurance authorization... both times they were Monday appointments which were cancelled late on a Friday afternoon - when I called back the office was closed. That's another thing, the office is hardly ever open! They open from 9-12 and 2-5, and have no answering service when they are unavailable so communication is awful, and they seem to close early on Fridays a lot (not sure of official hours) but Ron will call and leave cancellation messages and then the patients are unable to communicate back. Then you wait another 6 weeks, and all I needed was a referral to an allergist. Dr. Gisi is mediocre (I always feel like she's trying to sell me products, 3-4 at a time instead of trying 1 and seeing how it goes - at one point I spent $200 on vitamins that didn't help at all!) so I always request to see her PA Melinda who is wonderful, and the only reason I stuck with the office at all. But Melinda has been out of the office with medical problems and as far as I can tell Gisi has not picked up the slack at all. For my most recent appointment I showed up on time and was told that, again, my appointment had been cancelled - and Gisi would not see me or even write the referral I was asking for. So I'm done, I'm so done with this place. read more

I am so disappointed and frustrated with Dr. Sylvia Gisi's office. I have never experienced such a lack of professionalism and total disregard for a patient. I recommend patients who want quality care go elsewhere. After going a year without health insurance, I finally reinstated benefits in January, 2013 and immediately made a doctor's appointment. I searched my benefits website (Blue Shield of CA) for a participating physician and Dr. Gisi's name was listed as taking my insurance. Her office is also close to my home. Upon calling her office, I gave the appointment booker my ins. group number and ID and made the appointment for 7 weeks later, the "soonest she could see new patients.". Ok, I took the appt thinking this doctor must be good if she has so little time. Gisi's office confirmed the appt TWICE, the second time asking if I had any specific things I wanted the doctor to address. They told me they were trying to assess whether I needed more than 5 minutes. I had gone through all of the reasons I needed to see a doctor when I originally made the appointment, but went through the list again. And, since I had waited seven weeks to see the Dr. and had several things bothering me, including a constant pain in the lower abdomen, I asked if I could see the Dr. for a little longer than 5 minutes. The booker replied, "We put in 30 minutes for you." Great. I was relieved I was finally getting in. I own a small business and put work on hold the morning of the appointment. However, the afternoon prior, I received a phone call from Gisi's office with an urgent message to call regarding my appt the next day. Turns out they do not take my insurance. "We don't see HMO patients," she told me, like I have a contagious disease. Really??? You couldn't have informed me of this news 7 weeks ago? I delayed business appointments that day as well as put up with abdominal pain all this time because you failed to check this very pertinent detail? The woman who called to cancel me, Stephanie, was as compassionate as a rock. She said an intern had made my appointment and that intern had since been fired. She offered to book me with another Dr. In their group a week later but I will be out of town visiting my college student son. Plus, I do not want to give my business, money or time to this medical group and neither should you. My time and my health are much more important. I am back to square one on finding a doctor thanks to this incompetent group. If I could give Dr. Gisi's office less than one star, I would. read more

Having social anxiety when it comes to making appointments it's very difficult for me to call and talk on the phone. On the website there is an option for scheduling an appointment online and a best way of contact i Always put email. I've done this at the times I need to make an appointment and every time it was completely ignored. They do call me but it's a struggle to get the courage to talk on the phone. I just want my prescription renewed for my anxiety because now I have an anxiety attack at least 3-4 times a week. So I had gotten the courage and tried to call back but they were all at lunch at the most random time and was told they would call me back. I even sent the prescription renewal online form too as well. this was all maybe 2 weeks ago. Nothing. I didn't know I had to hound a doctors office just so I can make an appointment just so you can renew my prescription even I can't afford to take off work but I need my medication so I tried. Dr Gisi is a good doctor minus the fact every time is rushed and I never have the time to ask questions she's a good doctor. Her front office staff is lazy. read more

Wish I had seen these reviews 2 years ago. I haven't had problems with them until this week. I have had all kinds of ridiculous tests and blood work done over the years for medication I have taken for years. The medicine I am on is not a medication you can just start and stop. There are serious side effects if this is done. So I am now on day 5 of not having my medication because Dr. Gisi's staff has told me they will check on it and return my call. I have spoken to 2 different people regarding the issue and told them I was starting to have side effects from being off the meds. I still have not received a call. This is ridiculous and dangerous. Obviously no one in that office cares about the patients well being. All they care about is lining their pockets. I will be looking for a new Dr.! I will also be looking into other ways to make a complaint to the medical ethics board regarding the issue I have had with Dr. Gisi and her staff. I suggest every one else follow suit. No one should have to live like I have the past 5 days because their staff is incompetent. These are people's lives they are dealing with. What's next...someone dies because the office couldn't return a phone call? Follow up: they called today Friday at 5:20 pm to tell me I have to make an appt and get my labs done for them to refill the prescription. This is 8 days after the original call was made. So I call back and the phones are turned over. So if I wanted to make an appt. I couldn't. Nice work Dr. Gisi! You guys are really on it. I have been a patient of Dr. Gisi's for several years now. Initially, she was great. Unfortunately, her practice grew too large and become way too impersonal. It has been a couple of years since my husband or I have even laid eyes on Dr. Gisi herself. She is always book so far out that we are forced to see her (rather incompetent) NP. They charge a fee for every little thing and they don't follow up with anything! Obviously they don't have much concern besides making money! In addition, they recently stated selling a large line of expensive vitamins and suppliments which they push very hard. Completely unprofessional, in my opinion. Dr Gisi is wonderful, I've been going to her since 2006 when I was in middle school. I recommended my boyfriend to go to her office because how "great" everything is there. Today, we were running late and the bragging I did about this fucking place when down the drain. The male, Rod, who called to follow up to see where we were at is very rude, we told him we were running late and his response was "obviously." Really?! That was extremely rude. Also, it has taken my boyfriend 3 months to get this appointment today because the shit heads in the front are very unorganized. They said he had an appointment a month ago but they did not have it when we called to follow up. Also, I told my boyfriend to fill out and turn in a new patient form ahead of time so he doesn't have to do it on his appointment date. He turned it in and they lost it, he had to fill out another one. I'm probably gonna switch to a new doctor if dr Gisi doesn't get a front desk team. I have been going to this office as well as my mother and daughter for a few years now. One of our biggest gripes is the fact that you can never get an apointment if you are sick. You are lucky if you can get into the office within three to four days. Her web site states she is taking new patients, why when she can not take care of the ones she has. The last straw was when my daughter finally got an appointment to see her on a Thursday am with stomach issues. Dr. Gisi refered her for an ultra sound and blood work and put STAT on the procedures. She was told by the doctor not to take anything for the pain, that they needed to see what was going on first. Now comes the kicker, no one got back to us on Thursday, Thursday evening or Friday am. We called the office on Friday am, only to learn that Dr. Gisi does not work on Fridays...Wow really....so now we are told that the NP will read the ultra sound and the office will call us back in about an hour after she is done seeing a patient. An hour goes by and still no call, so we call again and this time we are told that she is busy with the patients in the office that she will have to read it at lunch and get back to us. Okay so what you are telling us is that the sick people in your office are more important than the sick person you saw yesterday????? In the mean time my daughter is in pain sitting and waiting for the results to be read. She is also told go to the urgent care if it is that bad... REALLY...so that they can do the same thing the doctor requested on Thursday....And people wonder why we need health care reform....I like Dr. Gisi, but I think her staff is rude, and I feel that she needs to figure out how to better serve her patients. Dr. Gisi and her staff were a big let down. Dr Gisi never asked me what the reason for my appointment was she went off of the questionnaire that I filled out for being a new patient. She spent maybe 10 minutes with me and I was a new patient! She ordered some labs that she was not sure they were done at the lab I was going to. She walked out of the exam room to ask the nurse about the labs and never came back in. So needless to say I was left hanging. I asked the nurse if she was going to come back because I didn't get to tell her the reason for my visit and she said that she was with another patient and I was going to have to wait. I didn't have any time to wait. I was given the lab slip and was sent on my way. I did my labs over two weeks ago and I have not been called with results yet. I called the office one week after my labs were done and I was told that they didn't have results yet that the lab I had them done at takes a long time to send results and that I would be called as soon as the doctor reviewed them. I was told by the nurse that I would get results 3-4 days after my labs were done. Needless to say this office was a big let down. read more

I am sorry, but, the staff already sets the tone for the type of care you will receive. I went for a visit and had to see the NP. After having to wait in the 35 minutes in the waiting room then another 30 in the actual room...finally NP walks in and starts talking to me, she realizes she has the wrong patient chart...she says " I'll be right back and need to grab your complete chart ". I heard her go into another room with a patient and left me for another 20 minutes. When she comes back in she does not have my complete chart...just the correct folder with my name on it. Intake went reasonably well. I saw Dr Gisi on several occasions. At times she was humble and considerate on other occasions she was arrogant and demeaning. She was unable to remember or keep many of her agreements with me. The primary problem is not Dr. Gisi herself, but her office manager is disorganizing to the point of being dangerous. He frequently involves himself in patient care without having the appropriate training. When challenged, which is frequent, he attempts to hide his inadequacies with aggressive rude behaviors. His conduct is akin to what is seen when a drill sergeant bullies a new army recruit. read more

Not happy with this doctor. SHe might be okay but there is so much red take to get thru to her office and through her husband, the office mgr., whatever that I couldn't wait for results till my next visit and was diagnosed with serious issues with a message. A doctor should CALL back her patients. Difinitely more concerned about money and turnover than anything else. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Gisi for more than 12 years now. She is a very caring, knowledgeable and thorough doctor. Her staff is great!

Rod Gisi Where do I begin.... He is not a professional person at all, I called the office a couple of days of to get an appointment and the 1st available appt was almost 2 months out, WTH??? he went on about how his nurse practitioner was out of the office due to some medical reasons, but instead of sympathetic to her medical condition he talked about her, saying he was going to hire a new nurse practitioner because he was tired of it all. How can you talk about about someone how is going thru some major medical problems. No compassion at all! Prior to that a couple of months ago he talked about his mother in law, how she was living with them and how stressful that was, sounded more like a burden that she was there. Several times I have heard how he talks to his staff makes rude remarks, how incompetent they are, talks about them out side in waiting room and so on forth. When your the administrator you need to be professional especially in a working environment with women. Those poor girls should report him to the Labor Board! Over all Dr. Gisi is a great doctor and her staff is great also, it's her husband Rod Gisi who is bring down her practice along with her. Some advise for your Rod, got get yourself a real job!!! read more

My first appointment with Dr. Gisi was very good. She seemed nice and wanted to get me healthy. All my appointments after have been rushed to the point of rudeness. The final straw came when I accidently ran out of my Thyroid med thinking I had another month. It took Dr.Gisi office a week and a half to call me back to infom me that she would not renew my RX until I had blood work and an appointment. This is totally ridiculous, since I was off my meds for 2 weeks. I've been on the same dose of this med for years. It is not addictive and its something that I NEED to take. I have been told by other doctors not to run out and to just call and they would give me an emergency supply. NOT Dr Gisi!! When I asked the "nurse" if I could talk to the doctor I was informed that she does not call or talk to patients by phone. I concluded that for her its all about getting me in to her office for 3 sec so she can charge me $180. Shame on her!!!!! read more

I will be changing doctors immediately because I have had enough. Her office simply does not care about people. My latest complaint is that I am awaiting test results for a scan that I had had a few days earlier. I received a call on Friday at 3:20 but I missed the call and the voicemail stated that they had my test results and to call back. I called back at 3:35 (office is supposed to close at 5) but was told by the answering service that they closed early. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me.....they just close early whenever they feel like it. So here it is on Monday, and I can't get through to anyone. The phone system just routes me round and round until I am forced to leave a voicemail for someone who will check it "periodically". I am in pain and have had to wait all weekend to find out if I have a serious problem. In addition to this final problem, I have also had to deal with the "you'll have to wait weeks to see the dr" issue, even though I have a PPO plan. (If you have an HMO plan, good luck on ever getting in), as well as showing up for my appt and the office being locked because they don't come back from lunch until 2 but they made me an appt at 1:30. They just don't care about their patients. Honestly, every time I am there, I feel like I am cattle that they just want to get in and out as soon as possible. The reason I left my last doctor was due to the 45minute wait times when showing up for an appt, but at least they treated me like I was a human being. So goodbye and good riddance Dr. Gisi. read more
