The most horrendous doctors office I have ever had. Left me with lasting trauma and distrust of doctors. Kelly Garcia and Guillermo Saenz refused to fill medications that I needed for asthma and were extremely rude and pushy towards me. Their office staff would make appointments without my consent and threatened to end care with me as a patient for rescheduling. Saenz, during a physical exam, felt the edge of my liver and immediately jumped to the conclusion that I had liver disease, put me through many awful tests and months of anxiety. I'm a healthy 24 year old. My current doctors are far better in every way and pretty much debunked everything these so called "doctors" attempted to misdiagnose me with so they could get money out of my insurance company. Stay away from this place they poisoned me. Tricked me into getting the whooping cough vaccine didn't tell me till AFTER they gave me the shot. 5 days now still sick feel like I'm dying. Can hardly breathe. Don't ever get the tetanus vaccine unless it's without the whooping cough vaccine. Most important job interview of my life I couldn't even go. When I called requested to speak to DR Combs himself they gave me a hard time. I made an appointment to see him at 2pm. After dragging myself out of bed the good old Dr left already. Then they threatened to charge me 50$ when Dr Combs is the one that left and missed the appointment. He clearly doesn't care about his patients. Funny he sure made his tee time. I had a problem with sleepwalking and consulted many doctors. Because my episodes Involved falling down at night and being injured I was called to discuss my visits to the, ER with the doctor at the Hemet office. The doctor reported me to the DMV for a medical review on my license even though we never discussed if it affected my driving which it didn't. Not only did the doctor at the Hemet office refuse to sign the required documents for review by the DMV he made it impossible to complete the paperwork in time to keep my driver's license from being revolked because of missing the deadline. I made repeated attempts to talk to the doctor at the Hemet office but was turned away by the staff. Luckily I discussed my situation with another doctor in a different location who reviewed my documents and found I was safe to drive and signed it in time to meet the deadline. After review by the DMV board I was deemed a safe driver with no further issues. read more

I was a patient here for almost 5 years. Every time I came in with a complaint, I was told it was "just anxiety." Years later, I sought out another doctor who finally ran the right tests. It turned out my stomach issues weren't anxiety at all--they were three different chronic illnesses plus polyps in my colon. Dr. Maggy consistently brushed me off, and if I had continued under her care, my conditions would have gone undiagnosed. Thanks to finally switching doctors, I am now getting the treatment I truly needed. Patients deserve to be listened to and taken seriously, not dismissed. read more

She had her medical assistant do the appointment for her and never even came to the room to speak with my father. He had appointment with the Nurse not the medical assistant. This review is long overdue. Over the past year, I have seen both Maggie and Christina, and I am incredibly grateful to have found such caring providers. They have been exceptionally patient and supportive as I navigate a new diagnosis that has brought debilitating symptoms affecting my daily life. Both providers bring years of knowledge and experience, and they have taught me so much about my health. I especially appreciate their holistic approach to healing. On one occasion, I truly believe Christina saved my hearing when I came in with a severe ear infection. Her treatment approach was aggressive yet safe, reaffirming my confidence in their expertise. At times, I feel like an "annoying" patient calling in with new health concerns, but I am always met with empathy, professionalism, and prompt action. They genuinely take the time to listen, which consistently puts my mind at ease. The front desk staff and medical assistants are equally welcoming, kind, helpful, and professional. This is truly an all-around great office. Several of my family members are also patients here, and I have heard nothing but positive feedback about the care they receive. Decent DR.Office. Not great for disabled people who need a more caring provider. They are just so busy they don't really give much individual care towards their patients. Clean office, no gimmicks being sold to you. If you just need a basic primary care provider who will do just the basic but constantly then this is a good provider. If you are a pain med patient. Don't even bother going here. They have a zero controlled substance prescribing policy. They won't even prescribe anti seizure medications to me because it has an off label use for nerve pain management. So be warned on that. read more

High Volume Billing Factory -- A Churn-and-Burn Outfit My husband (67 and legally blind) and I (57) have both been patients here for over ten years. I've taken thyroid medication for 23 years, and he depends on blood-pressure and cholesterol meds. We've always kept up with every visit and lab. When our insurance briefly lapsed, we called to ask for a short bridge refill -- just a couple of weeks of my medication until coverage resumed. We even offered to pay out of pocket. The response was a cold, flat no. No empathy. No flexibility. No concern for my health or history. Instead, I was told to go pay another clinic for an office visit to get the same prescription they could have easily sent to my pharmacy. What kind of medical office refuses a longtime patient a simple bridge refill? Stopping thyroid medication after 23 years isn't just uncomfortable -- it's dangerous. My body no longer makes this hormone, so going without it even a few days can throw everything off: heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, energy, and mood and can lead to severe, even life-threatening complications. After a decade of loyalty, that refusal showed me everything I needed to know. This office is a high-volume billing factory, a churn-and-burn outfit focused on insurance money, not genuine patient care. The staff's tone matches the system -- brisk, dismissive, and sometimes downright rude. And this isn't our first serious concern. My daughter was given incorrect thyroid doses multiple times, including one prescription that was almost double what she should have been taking. The office later called her in a panic telling her to stop immediately. Soon after, she developed heart palpitations and an EKG showed a conduction abnormality, which led to a cardiologist referral. Too much thyroid hormone can overwork the heart and cause dangerous rhythm problems, chest pain, and bone loss -- this isn't minor! Is it a coincidence that it happened right after that medication mix-up? I'm not so sure. I let that mistake go once because I was a loyal patient. But after this recent refusal, I'm re-thinking that decision. I'm now looking into filing a formal complaint and having this practice reviewed. This office doesn't care about patients or their health -- it's all about money, volume, and billing codes. Quack quack. If it walks like a duck, it must be Dr Combs. The doctor failed to discus my blood test results with me but tried to push antidepressants on me because I smoked 20 years ago. When I declined to return six months later for a follow up, he dismissed me and my wife as our primary care. My wife had never even been in his office so I dont understand why she was kicked off too. I left Combs and his administrative chaos a number of years ago. He seemed to pride himself on his staff and on improving healthcare delivery. However I believe that he empowered inexperienced employees who had poor interpersonal skills and poor judgment. I found quite a few to be rude, cocky and dismissive. I also received a letter scolding me for not transferring my medical records to them in a timely fashion. What the heck? I don't take direction from them! Everything they needed was accessible electronically. I've never looked back. And I did not think that Dr Combs really listened. This place should be completely shut down! I'm going to figure out who I need to talk to about having this place adjusted. This is morally wrong. The doctor came in and just rolled her eyes, and clearly has ZERO passion for her profession. Perhaps, massage Theropy would've been a better career for her. This was round TWO of a negative experience. First being that I was going to be drug tested when I went in. LOL! I don't do drugs and i said, ok no problem. But only because of my anxiety. After thinking about it when I was at home, I felt so judged and hurt that someone would subject me like that. Literally have never felt that way. Gave them a second chance, as like maybe the N.A. (who wasn't intelligent enough to even be a nurse) wasn't employed anymore and it would be an easy visit! It wasn't and it's still the exact same way. Not sure who the practice office manager is, but I think they should be fired as the way their staff is practicing healthcare is acceptable. That's not how you run an office; more or less a HEALTHCARE office! Why would you go to school for years, for HEALTHCARE. HEALTH... CARE. To not care. My wife has been a patient of This practice since 2016. We have gone through much with them. In doing so, We have accepted their reasoning for not answering the phones, not replying to voicemail requests or actually seeing a doctor rather than a Nurse Practitioner. All this is fine when your basically healthy. However, when your wife gets dementia and needs their support, the only way you can get it there is by advocating for it. The result of this advocating for better assistance was the following letter which I quote below: "I find it necessary to inform you that I can no lo longer meet your medical needs for the following reasons: SPOUSES BEHAVIOR TOWARDS STAFF/PATIENT PROVIDER BREAKDOWN/BEHAVIOR/DISRESPECT TOWARDS ANCILLARY/ASPIRE SERVICES." Never was I disrespectful to any member of the practice. However, when, Aspire Home Health, began to continually cut back on my wife's Physical Therapy, I called the Manager of Aspire. She responded by saying "LOOK, YOUR WIFE HAS DEMENTIA WHAT GOOD IS PHYSICAL THERAPY." I was really taken aback at such a statement. Plus, they laid the blame on my Primary by saying that they recommended this course. After checking with the personnel at my wife's Primary's office I found this was not true. Then I was dropped by Aspire as a patient. I have since gotten another home health company, but I complained to Medicare about Aspire's disregard for their patients. They have a special unit that handles this and their unit did its job. It's called Beneficiary and Family Centered Care Quality Improvement Organization. Aspire was supposed to rectify the situation, but instead three days later, I received the letter above. The irony of the situation is that the letter was signed by Dr. Combs, whom in all the years we have gone to this practice, we have never met. In short, instead of fighting for the rights of its patients, they created an excuse and blamed it on myself. I wonder if any of them actually live with a patient that has dementia and know what life is like. My advise to you as the reader, is to find a better practice with people that truly advocate for you. read more

I've been a patient at this doctor for over 10 years. Over the last 4 years the services provided here are very poor. More specifically the conduct, professionalism, and service of the medical assistants. They are extremely rude and disrespectful over the phone and in-person. In ten years I have been seen by Dr. Combs -One Time! Every other time is a nurse practitioner who only speaks to you after the medical assistant tries to complete the physical or diagnosis for the Nurse practitioner prior to them coming in. When you tell them you want to speak to the Dr. Or NP only, they become very rude and sarcastic, acting if your personal and medical situation is a joke and not important to them by any means. They continually make you get labs you don't need, and if you want a follow up appt or need an appt for medical reasons, the MA will badger you over the phone to give them private medical information over the phone to determine if you "need" an urgent appointment or not. If you don't tell them specifically why you need to see Dr. Combs then they schedule your appointment 3-4 weeks out or at a different facility in Hemet or Menifee. So you have to tell the MA that your not providing them detailed information about your medical issues, and they need to schedule the next available appointment time. Only then will they give you an appointment time and if you can't attend that day and time they provide you, they will very rudely give you an option of an appt time almost a month later. Pretty much a "Take it or Leave it" mentality. I am in the process of changing doctor's offices. Do Not use this doctor's office as your Primary care doctor . read more

I asked for what to do in a situation before doing anything. Was advised to go to Urgent Care. Told them in my condition I can't drive myself. I stopped using Dr. Combs years ago when they misdiagnosed my nipple for a tumor in my lung, but thought I would try again since Dr.Combs is one of the few that takes my insurance. Dr Combs does not work his practice anymore, but has providers with no name badges, dressed in regular clothing representing his practice. After confirming my insurance again, they asked me several questions regarding my current health and then I proceeded to explain that I need a referal for an MRI on my wrist because urgent care ruled out a break four months prior with an x-ray and the attending physician on duty instructed me to get an MRI to rule out tore tendons. I am now at Dr. Combs office (Dr. combs does not work there anymore) and explain my situation and for them to request records from urgent care. Fast forward to weeks later, still no MRI referal and I'm having to play phone tag with Dr. Combs office and Temecula Advanced Imaging wondering why I have not had a script written for my MRI, but Combs office was able to call me to try to telemed me my blood results and charge my insurance company more and got upset when I said that I didn't need the results explained to me and to just give me my blood results, but they would not. The girl on the phone was very rude and insisted that I need to speak to a provider over telemed to get them, but still no one called in a referal for my wrist! I called once again a week later and after several phone calls back and forth to Temecula Advanced Imaging, I was told that they did not send in a referral for an MRI but only an x-ray. Fast forward to today, October 23rd. I received a letter from Dr. Combs office stating that they do not want to see me again because I have not been appropriate to their staff. Appropriate? They're so unorganized, and I wasn't rude. All I wanted was my MRI referal sent to Temecula Valley Imaging so I could get my MRI for my wrist. Dr. combs's office never called me or told me they were not going to write me a script for an MRI, but wasted countless minutes of my time. This office needs a new name, a new manager and some work ethics. They only care about money and billing your insurance. Stay away!!!!! read more

We have been with Dr Curtiss Combs for about 20 years. His Temecula practice has grown to include Hemet and Perris and with that his staff has increased also. The waiting time in office has been cut to just minutes which I totally enjoy. Dr Combs takes the health of his patients very personal and his goal is to identify and treat something before it becomes a problem. They are a primary family care facility and they treat seniors. I've had to call and remind the incompetent staff of what was ordered. I called to get an appointment because I'm fairly sure I have a broken foot and the answering machine said expect a call back in 24-48 hours!! I'll be going to urgent care and changing pcp. Giving two stars because some of the staff are nice. The doctor is full of himself "I'm better than a cardiologist ". He spoke about a hand injury and that he had an infection blah blah. I knew that was an untruth because my parents died of the same infection. Only saw him for maybe 15 minutes. His office over medicates. I'm a runner have been since 2016. Runners have low heart rates I have done ultras which are 31 miles or more. My longest ultra was 62 miles. The PA who never saw me in person gave me a 5th (that's right 5th medication for blood pressure because of my low heart rate. I bet she would have had a serious panic attack if she knew the heart rate of some of my ultra running friends which is lower than mine. The nurse who I saw didn't know how to take blood pressure and was nervous. I asked her how long she had been doing this and her response was 2 weeks. Seriously she didn't know how to use the blood pressure cuff and was saying "I hope I'm doing this right" So I switched doctors to the next building over in Hemet one that I have seen before and loved because he know about ultra runners and listens. I had some injuries and know that getting back into running will help my health. This doctor doesn't believe that. Don't go here you will be over medicated and won't actually see a doctor but will see an incompetent nurse who doesn't know how to take a blood pressure. read more

I'm a 7 year patient of Dr. Combs and couldn't be more pleased. In my 71 years, no doc or staff has ever spent the time this office has with me. My wife was seriously ill a couple years ago. Maggie and others in this office literally moved mountains to get her referred and seen by six specialists inside of two days. I will never forget that. Negative reviews? I'm not saying something didn't happen to people posting negative comments, and sure, I've had to wait a little now and then when things got backed up, but I've always been able to get through on the phone or receive a call back. When you call to make an appointment every day for 10 days and can only reach their voicemail box and never get a return phone call, what does that say about this practice? I am a new patient trying to establish care.. They do not have history on me so it's not because they recognize you my phone number on caller ID. I had to wait until the beginning of the following month to make the medical group change to another physician with my HMO. I have made a formal complaint with Blue Cross because it is unacceptable for a medical practice like a PCP to not return phone calls after 10 days of a patient calling every single day. They definitely showed a side of concern for me during a very difficult and dark time. What good is a doctor you can never get a hold of? They refuse to answer phones or return calls. They won't do it; it is astonishing. Whenever you get a person on the phone, the wait time for an appointment is almost always at least a month. If only I can give a negative star on this place, i'd do that. First - He's been the PCP of my nephew but we never saw him, met him or even get a glance of him on that clinic. NO CURTISS COMBS! 2nd - they will get you an appointment easily but will be seen by a NP or PA who doesnt know what they're doing 3rd - even if you really have a bad pain or symptoms that you've been reporting with them, they wont do anything but just to wait and next thing you know - those symptoms are in need of immediate actions.
