We found the perfect truck for us at the Girard Ford website. I was contacted within minutes by Christine, the internet contact for Ford. She was very pleasant and helpful. She kept in touch and responded to my emails quickly, answering all of my questions. When it was time to talke price, she turned me over to Manic, Sales Manager. The negotiation went smoothly and he was very accommodating in working with us on a price. We had done significant leg work on this vehicle and new what we were willing to pay. We were very happy with the final price of the truck. Once we agreed on a price, he had the pleasure of meeting with the Finance Manager, Aaron. He was helpful, personable, and very patient with us. The transaction went smoothly and there were no high pressure sales for additional products, like extended warranty. We picked up our truck, and we couldn't have been happier with the awesome truck, and Girard Ford. Hope your experience is as delightful as ours. Make it a great day. read more

Do not show up to the lot at closing time just to look. 2 minutes out of the car and here comes help we didn't need. He's either brand new or hasn't yet learned how to talk to people who don't NEED to buy a car or who bought their first car before he was born. After explaining we were just looking to determine if Ford had an SUV we'd want to test drive, the head sales dude of the night shows up and now salesperson A wants to show us the inside of an explorer, sits in the back seat and tells us he'll stay late if we're serious. Again, we explained we are just looking to determine which SUVs we want to test drive. So now we shift to what time tomorrow can you come back, a lesson in not letting too many dealerships run my credit and a scolding about not wasting each others time. WE were wasting HIS time??? We'd have been happy if they had just clocked out and headed home. read more

Bald guy at the service desk was a complete jack ass, rude to everyone, yelled at another employee right in front of us. They tried to charge us over 10k for a new transmission. We had it towed to another shop and they scanned the codes, gave the transmission a service and replaced a sensor. The vehicle drives perfectly fine now. So not only was Girard ford extremely rude and uncooperative but they're just scamming people for warranty jobs. Go to a mom and pop shop in town. read more

We purchased a car from Naz Brown yesterday and our experience with Naz could not have been better. Naz was exactly what you would want in a car salesperson. He wasn't pressuring, he listened to us and was extremely kind and patient. If we were in the market to buy a car again, we wouldn't hesitate to visit Naz first and would also recommend him to friends. Thank you, Naz!! You made an experience that I typically dread a very pleasant one!! read more

I negotiated a deal with Eddie, who knew I was an out-of-state buyer. I told them I'm buying with cash, and they still needed my driver's license and social security number. Immediately after obtaining my personal information, Eddie's superiors backed out of the sale. I'm checking to see if they ran an illegal credit check on me. read more

great service, the people in sales are knowledgeable with no pressure to buy , they made buying my truck easy and stress free

Great experience in buying a truck. Melissa Guerrero was fantastic. I went in with a value of my trade in mind and they gave it to me. They quickly got my spray-in bed and tonneau cover installed so I could leave for vacation. Thank you Melissa and all involved. read more

Junior was great! No one was pushy. No one tried to sell us anything we didn't want. They work as a team and from the moment we walked in until we drove our new Explorer off the lot was a great experience. read more

If I could give zero stars for the sales department I would. I have bought 2 vehicles from them in the last 9 months. When I needed help trying to resell one of the vehicles after the unexpected passing of my husband they were only concerned on making more money off of me. They have lost my business and any friends/family I would have referred. Maybe sometimes it's about doing what's right and not about the money!! read more

I hate going to car dealerships, I am not much of a negotiator and I don't like arguing with people! We were in the market for a larger vehicle due to an addition to our family and I contacted numerous dealerships in the area. I set up an appointment via phone to come in and test drive the exact vehicle we wanted and when we arrived it was sitting by the door, all warmed up and ready to go. Test drive done into negotiations, the price they offered was fair and about what I expected to pay. The only thing we had to work on was the value of the trade-in which they reasonably worked with me on. I didn't make a deal that day so I could go home and discuss with the wife and when we were ready they had all of the paperwork ready and I was able to come in, give them a check, and all in all it was only about an hour of signing paperwork. They asked the standard questions of trying to get you to purchase this and that, not unlike any other dealership I have ever dealt with. They did not get pushy and they even worked with me on the price of the extended warranty, through Ford. We ran into some issues with the registration, we are military, and they have been extremely helpful and patient through the process above and beyond would I could expect. My salesman, Bob, was extremely polite and the finance guru, Aaron, is very professional and easy to deal with. I'll keep them in mind when its my turn to get a new truck. read more

Bought our new Escape here. Great team of people, BJ really was an awesome guy to work with. No pressure approach, and they have some of the best prices for Certified Used Fords in CT. I generally don't go to a car lot unless I know exactly what I'm looking for. I called Girard Ford and told them what I wanted to see. The car, and the salesman (BJ), was ready and waiting for me when I arrived. The car was already detailed inside, and it only took minutes for a test drive. BJ was very friendly, and very knowledgeable about this car and all cars. We discussed the terms of the sale during the drive and was ready for purchase when we arrived back at the lot. The financing aspect of the sale is my only complaint. During the weekends Girard doesn't seem to staff any knowledgeable finance employees so paying for the car had it's difficult because I needed to do it by wiring money. This caused me to wait until Tuesday to pick up the car, because after I received the wire information on Monday, they only check the account once a day to see if it was received. When I went to pick up the car I was thoroughly impressed. Despite the great condition it was in during my test drive, it was fully detailed when I arrived. It was a used car, and had scuff marks on the front, but when I picked it up, Girard had already buffed them out for me. BJ gave me some great tips on how to manage the software on the vehicle and everything was fully signed over with plates in 20 minutes. For a great prices, superb service, ok finance, and speed of sale, Girard is the way to go. read more

In December my vehicle was in an accident. My insurer had me take it to Girald Ford Collision for an appraisal . They quickly, almost too quickly determined it was totaled. And I now needed a new vehicle. Right before Christmas with no cash flow. Doug was very helpful, he had a salesman, Angel helped me find the right vehicle for me and my needs. And then the magic began. Finding financing ! But honestly! they did an amazing job. I got a great deal on a lovely pre owned vehicle. I was so impressed with their professionalism that I referred my son. And he also bought a car he is very happy with. Great team of people..... Also, two weeks or so later, my water pump failed. They handled it so wonderfully, free of charge. It's been great ever since.. I look forward to seeing them and God willing working with them again.. read more

Had a bad experience with these guys. I called on the phone for a particular model and booked a test drive a few days in advance. On the day that I drove there from Boston (1.5 hours), I called to check and a salesman, Peter, told me that the car would be available. However, when I arrived, I was told by the salesman that the car wasn't there yet and I could wait at the lounge (actually, a rather comfortable area with coffee and TV). I waited for an hour and then I went out for lunch. Then I came back. By this time, I had been in town for 3 hours. That's when they told me that the owner had taken the vehicle on an emergency trip out of town! The worst part of this is that they had my phone number and could have called me at any time so I wouldn't have to wait anymore! Folks, I would not recommend buying from them. Maybe they never actually had the car there or didn't intend to sell it. Maybe they just wanted to get me in the store so I could buy something else. I don't know what the real story behind giving me the runaround, but they cost me a half of a day and a tank of gas for nothing. Just plain unprofessional and irresponsible. read more

We found a car on Girard Ford's Web site and went to look at the car in person. The car was listed online for $4301.00. We met a salesman and took a test drive. The car seemed fine with minor problems. We met with the salesman. He started the paperwork and when all was said and done the price for the $4301.00 vehicle was up to nearly $8000.00. We were told that the down payment raised the price by $2500 and that there had been repairs already done and we had to pay for that also. Where did the $4301 go? We offered the Internet price and told no way. What a scam. Do real people fall for this line? Stay away. Would give no stars but didn't have that option. read more

I drove off the lot yesterday with a beautiful new -used car. I was very impressed with their very low/competitive prices when I was researching online. The deal was unbeatable so I drove from West Hartford to Norwich to do business. Then I was again satisfied by the sales team, including manager Yusef and my salesman BJ. They were helpful with me as I was trying to expedite the process and were flexible with my schedule. Then I was especially impressed with the finance team of Aaron and Diane who not only helped me get into the car quickly but were still very thorough in verifying all the paperwork was correct. From beginning to end, my experience with Girard Ford was GREAT. I will definitely be recommending this dealership to my friends! read more

I bought a used car from Girard Ford with a 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. First thing I noticed was there were no cupholder inserts (goes where the cupholders are meant to be) and no floormats. I asked the salesman and he said he would contact me when they were available with new ones. Then when I get home I realized the Emergency brake didn't work, and I need an emergency brake since the car I bought was a manual. I call and call again about the floormats and the cupholders but the salesman keeps saying he doesn't have them yet. I then stop by to get my e-brake fixed, which they actually fixed, but when I asked about my floormats and cupholders he says he still doesn't have them. Eventually I just buy my own floormats and cupholders. They were about 75 dollars out of my pocket, something not too expensive, but is exactly why they should have just payed for it. Then a couple months later I find out I need new sway bar links which cost about 98 dollars. Turns out there is a 100 deductible I have to pay on anything covered by warranty. Something they didn't make clear when I bought the car, nor did they tell me that when I brought it in to get fixed. Of course they told me after they serviced my car, now owing them 98 dollars. Within approximately 17,000 miles of owning the car I already need new front tires and an alignment. The car is Front Wheel Drive and the rear tires are worn on the inside, so they probably rotated the tires while the car was still unaligned. Girard Ford said it was not covered since it was considered maintenance. But obviously they sold me a car that had already worn down tires and needed an alignment for a while. Now a little while later when I apply the brakes my car shakes. Now I need to machine my rotors, which is also considered maintenance and not covered by the warranty. So instead I bring my car to get the rotors machined somewhere else. Shouldn't the rotors have been machined before the car was sold to me? About 8 months later my car is making noises somewhere from the suspension when I take a right turn. I bring it to them and say it's my brakes, put on new brakes, rotors and a brake fluid flush, costing me over 500 dollars. Later on I can still here the noise when I take right turns. I call Girard Ford and they say it's probably my worn down rear tires making the noise. So I get new rear tires and it still makes the noise. And above all this when I changed the oil for the first time after buying the car, the oil was burnt, black, and thin. I'm guessing they didn't change the oil either. Though the guy who ran the place, Charlie, was a nice guy, and maybe the only good part of my experience, my overall impression of Girard Ford is horrible. WORST car dealer I have EVER gone to, and as I am 68 I have been to many over the years. Sales was not an issue, price was good, but oh my the financial depart is a den of vipers. First a hard sell on extended warranty with promises it is affordable over several years, then OOOPS, sorry you have to pay up front. When you say no thanks, they slip in the charge on you anyway. BUYER BEWARE!!! READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU LEAVE! I have been trying for 2 mo now to get back the money they already admit they have no right to and no end in sight. Looks like I will have to go to the police to get them to return my money even tho they agree I had cancelled the agreement within the allowed time. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER UNLESS YOU ARE VERY VER CAREFUL AND DON'T AGREE TO ANY ADDED COSTS! read more

I switched to Girard Ford even though I bought my car from another dealer with which I had numerous issues regarding service, lack of friendliness and charges. That dealer was too impersonal and not concerned with my particular issues and problems they caused. The phone at Girard was answered directly by service-and not by an automated phone system. It turned out to be Jose Arriaga who, on the phone, told me which service appointments were the most important ones for my car. He quickly made an appointment and I had the service done more quickly than I had been used to and the staff from Jorge to the cashier were especially warm and friendly. I had had an issue with an unusual warning light coming on. They found nothing in the computer but told me to just bring it in whenever the light came on again even without an appointment unlike the previous dealer. The light came on again during a 4 hour trip and I later brought the car in at my convenience and a mechanic IMMEDIATELY checked the computer for codes but found none. Making an extra effort to troubleshoot he tried an additional computer and found the problem which was the subject of a Ford Technical Service bulletin, not a safety issue but covered by Ford. I made an appointment to bring the car in soon after and the car was fixed quickly with a software upgrade which no one had seen before. At my previous dealer, I would have had to leave the car all day. I met one of the owners in the customer waiting area who was also very friendly and helpful. Although I have to travel further to get to Girard, total time spent is less and I leave with a smile on my face. read more

I went to Girard Ford a little less than a month ago with the intention of buying a new car. To save time, I checked out their vehicles ahead of time and found exactly what I wanted. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a young man named Dennis and after 5 minutes of explaining that I already had financing and picked out the car I wanted, Dennis immediately went and brought the vehicle up, let me test drive it, didn't push me into making any decisions and got me started on the paperwork. The whole process took about an hour and a half and Dennis was attentive, informative and patient. I couldn't have had a better experience. If you need a new vehicle, go see Dennis at Girard. Very disappointed with a certain salesman" Robert B. " at Girard Ford in Norwich Ct. My son is an active duty soldier in the U.S Army and he was not treated as a person who is protecting the salesman and our freedoms. My son was attempting to purchase his first vehicle on his own and the salesman "Robert B."was sneaky about the financing and used a lot of double talk in an attempt to make a sale. Despite my mother purchasing her last two cars from Girard Ford, my son was delayed over four hours in the show room and was lied to on several occasions concerning the price of the vehicle and the financing. We ended up walking out of the business and we will not ever do business with Girard Ford again. My mom was not happy when we told her what happened and this will be her last car from Girard. WARNING!!!!! Had a very bad experience with this dealer. I drove 2 hours to see a car that I found online that stated it had all these extra options. Once I got there the car had none of the extra options that were listed. I was trying to negotiate a car deal with Girard Ford. What a scam dealer!! Bunch of crooks there. Here is why: I was interested in their listing on car gurus for a 2013 Corolla that had 26,517 miles on the odometer. The online price for the vehicle was $10,950 and they were ready to finance it for me for $10,500 (3% APR for 75months). That was little higher than my budget, I told them that after negotiating for like a day and the manager Marty decreased the price suddenly to $8500 for me. At that point I told them I would come and pay you the next day and take the car. Meanwhile I also asked them for a Carfax report which they did not give me. Instead they said they would send me the auto check report which shows the car is clear. So I thought before I invest $9000 in a car I should atleast purchase a carafe report. And to my horror, I saw the car has a major accident in 2015 which was the only thing not listed about the car on auto check. So obviously I made the decision to not go for the car. But next morning even before I could call the and say I am not coming to pay you, they called me and said the car was sold!! What a bunch of crooks..!!! HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

Found a car online that was in my price range and in my area. The salesman gave us an out the door price and sent us over to the finance department. The finance department told us there was a misunderstanding in the salesman price and raised it $700.00. The next day we came back with a deposit and now the General Manager came out and told us the car needed $2400.00 in repairs that we would have to pay for. We were told we should not buy the car and should look at something else. They are still advertising the car as ready to roll and impecable. read more

I found a deal thru their website and called Christine to make sure it was still available and to schedule a time i was gonna be there. Since i live 1h 45min away i called her again when i was half way down my trip to confirm my arrival and make sure she reserved the truck for a showing. Again she confirmed and said she had scheduled an hour of her time for this showing. When i arrived someone else was waiting for me,told me to sit and started to get all my info. she came over, introduced herself and left within 30 secs. It took 30min getting my info and then i was told the truck was sold an hour before i had arrived. Our salesman Michael Riley was awesome, he was so patient with us since we really didn't know what we wanted, after talking to us he suggested a Ford Escape, he took us for a test drive and we were in love....Michael, along with Sales Manager Joe Sabourin and Finance manager Aaron Morello did their part with the financing...the only issue we had was there was only one key to the car, We didn't realize that sometimes previously leased vehicles didn't always have a second key but he was able to get us a key at cost. Great experience! So if you happen to be in the market for a new or used car go see Michael Riley at Girard Ford and tell him I sent ya!!!! :) read more

They need to learn to be up front with their customers. Wasted hours there and actually was almost out the door with signed papers only to have the whole deal explode at the end because of their lack of communication. Prior to that though, there were some red flags that popped up. I asked, can I take the car to my local mechanic to be checked out? "No, our technicians have thoroughly checked the car and if you have any problems after you take it home just bring it back and we'll take care of it". I have always been able to take a car off a lot and have it checked at at my expense elsewhere. Not here. Then I told them I like the car and would be willing to put a deposit down, can I do that? "No, can't put a deposit down to hold the car because it might prevent someone else from buying it and you might change your mind." That I understood but still from the consumer's perspective not what I wanted to hear. Other dealerships still will take a serious deposit to hold a car; that option should still be available. The car I was interested in was $7,800 and it was a Saturday afternoon when I was going through this process. Everything was going well until it came time for the business manager to swipe my credit card. He did not come back right away and when he did I saw by the look on his face that something was wrong. He explained that his boss would not allow us to pay for the car with a credit card as they are already selling it to us at a bargain and they would have to eat another 2 or 3 percent from the credit card company in fees. Okay, that would have been nice to know before I left the house that morning, wouldn't it? But I had no clue I would actually have to do it all in one day; wasn't even sure I wanted the car prior to looking it over. Why would I get a bank check before I was sure about the car?? No problem they said,"... just give us a deposit and get the check on Monday from the bank". Funny, a few hours earlier they said they didn't take deposits?? That was the end of that; I bid Bob and company farewell, never to meet again! read more

My son recently purchased a truck from Girad Ford. My husband brought him there thinking that Mr. Sopariwala (who we have bought cars from before) would be fair and sell my son a reliable truck. Well that is not what happened. My son purchased a truck for $13,000.00 which was "AS IS". He brought the truck home and about five lights were out on the truck so no safety check was done to the truck. Then two days later the front axel went on the truck (which they did fix). When he picked up the truck there was very little gas in it. This was because they knew if the took off the gas cap the check engine light would go on. We thought this was an easy fix just get a new gas cap. NO the gas tank is shot in the truck and has to be replaced along with hoses. My son bought and extended warrenty on the truck knowing it was "AS IS" guess what does not cover the gas tank. All in all I would NEVER recommend this dealership and I will tell everyone that I know just how unethical Mr. Sopariwala was selling my son a truck he knew had many issues. My husband brought him to Mr. Sopariwala thinking he could trust him. Well think again. read more

This dealership is by the far the worst I have ever dealt with. Customer service is a complete 0. Oh they're great while you're shopping but once the sale is complete, you are on your own. I had a few problems at the beginning when I 1st bought the car. My 1st. call was returned, then after 10 messages and numerous e-mails, I got no response from anyone. I finally gave up. Well, no more. Went to trade my car in because after a break-up I can no longer afford it. Well... low and behold, guess what I found out? This car was in an accident. Seriously WTF???? They never told me. Of course I never would have bought it unless it was just a fender bender. Now there is a blemish on my car fax and I am stuck. This was my 1st. stop being Saturday after 5. My next is the BBB. Then I am contacting my attorney on Monday. Lesson learned, never, ever, ever will I go there again. Nothing but down hill ever since it switched hands from Simon Ford. No wonder they gave me such a sweet deal. read more
