When I was doing a bit of research ahead of our trip to Mount Mansfield, I stumbled across this place, which was conveniently located near our lodgings and seemed like a natural spot to grab some coffee and carbs prior to the hike. But as I looked at their website, I frowned slightly. Was this...giraffe themed? A giraffe-themed coffee place? It was. Never opposed to randomness like this (this was probably the first and last time I had giraffe blankets within eyeline while I ate a muffin), but this was the most uneven experience we had in Vermont. My guess is that would have been the case regardless of how many giraffe pictures were on the wall though. The Millennial Chum and I popped in early this past Sunday, right around 7am. Aside from a few nearby gas stations, nobody else was open - definite plus in that regard. The overriding positive here was the muffin I ordered. I'd already had some coffee back at the hotel so I didn't end up getting an additional beverage here, but the pastries at the counter looked decent. This muffin was EXCELLENT; if our experience was limited to the muffin, this would have been five stars all the way. It was freshly made and still toasty, and the muffin top was the perfect amount of crispness and interior softness. Really hit the spot. The rest of our time here was not as good as that muffin. The Millennial Chum ordered a very basic egg sandwich (I'm pretty sure it was literally just an egg and an English muffin or something to that effect) and an iced latte. We sat at a table near the window, commenting on everything we spotted with a giraffe on it. After a while, we were looking around because my muffin was gone and she still hadn't received anything. Keep in mind - it's early and there were maybe two or three other customers in there the whole time. Finally after 10 minutes, her egg sandwich was delivered, but no coffee. She had to go back up there and ask about it (they weren't helping other customers at the time), at which point they made the coffee. So that means they literally forgot one of the two items she ordered, and it was coffee from a coffee place! I don't think I've ever seen that before. And the cherry on top? They gave her a hot latte. At that point though, you take what you get. The other issue is a little difficult to articulate. The vibe on that first visit was really off; I don't know how else to say it. There was a young female behind the counter, and also an older gentleman with an accent. I'm not sure what the deal was, but there was palpable tension between them and the female was in an obviously bad mood. I think generally when you pick up on something like that, you let it go and/or don't necessarily think too much into it, but it's hard not to think it had a direct correlation with the bad service. Interestingly, I came back the next morning to quickly grab another muffin and an iced (I was very clear on that) latte for the Millennial Chum and it was a completely different situation - it was just the female in there and she was in a perfectly fine mood, with no service problems whatsoever. I obviously don't know nearly enough about the back story there to offer much in the way of constructive feedback other than to say that as the customer, I shouldn't be able to pick up on that, either in terms of vibes or inadequate service. The muffin was great. Loved the muffin. Still unclear on the connection between long-necked African mammals and coffee or how to pronounce the name of this establishment, but I'd at least come back for that muffin. read more

- 5+ bucks for a large drip that had burnt bean aftertaste. Their pricing schema menu with how they add on more money to the 'base' price of the small coffee is pretty weak sauce also. - Smoked Salmon bagel sandwiches were one skinny layer of smoked salmon, and a thin "taste" of cream cheese. - Obviously bought in pastry (croissant) was more or less Dunkin Donuts quality. I know they are targeting the Stowe audience who wish they were in Aspen, but if I'm going to pay almost 40+ dollars for food/beverage for two people, it should have a lot more quality than they did, giraffes or not. read more

I love giraffes! This place was so cutely designed and decorated! They had gifts to purchase such as giraffe headbands, mugs, coloring books, apparel, and more! The vibe was fun but cozy! So glad our friend recommended this spot to grab a quick breakfast at! The coffee was good, but the best part of it all were the bagels! You can build your own bagel, with tons of options for customization. It was the best bagel sandwich I have had in a long time - especially the smoked salmon! Though I did wish the menu had pricing (as building your own sandwich can get pricey pretty quickly), I enjoyed my breakfast nonetheless. Giraffe decor a plenty, it was a cute little build your own breakfast sandwich place with friendly staff. The toasted coconut latte was superb as well as my hubby's masterpiece egg sandwich. Bagels were fresh and tasty, just beware that you get a Vermont sized "schmear" of cream cheese, not a hefty NY schmear, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Only disappointment was that the strawberry jam was just the typical diner style packets, not a farm fresh creation as I would have expected in a boutique style establishment. read more

I stopped here for coffee on the way to the mountain. I had looked at the menu online but couldn't find the prices. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk and maple syrup- which ended up costing 8.50 before tax! The oat milk was $1.15 and the maple syrup was $1.10 (evidently it's the other syrups that are 60 cents each). I was shocked when I saw the total and begrudgingly paid it. The coffee was ok- but I've had much better maple Lattes both in Stowe and Boston (where I live). It was definitely not worth the price. Overall I would not recommend. read more

As a coffee and giraffe lover this place is a dream come true. They offer a variety of flavored lattes, coffees, teas and baked goods. I tried a flavored decaf latte and a chocolate chip cookie, both delicious. They also have a variety of merchandise for that giraffe lover in your life. As a frequent visitor to Stowe, I've often complained about the lack of good coffee. I tried Girakofi for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. I just wanted a drip coffee and I noted they had light, medium and dark roast options. It's rare a place has more than 2 and having all 3 means there's something for everyone. My medium coffee had good flavor and no bitterness. I'd definitely try it again. They have sandwiches and baked goods but I didn't try any. The next time you want coffee in Stowe look for the 2 giraffes on Mountain Road and enjoy. read more

Located right near Stowe downtown, the location is great for a quick bite and drink. It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking. We ordered a hot maple latte, iced vanilla latte with skim milk, fried egg bagel, and smoked salmon bagel. The bagels were good, nothing extraordinary. My iced latte was not strong at all, it tasted mainly like cold skim milk. The maple latte was strong with maple flavor, but could barely taste the coffee. Inside was clean and there's a few seats. Service was not good-not greeted upon arrival and both girls just stared until we were ready to order. It was really awkward. Not helpful in suggestions either--they literally did not talk and stared rudely. Also, the plastic lid for the iced latte didn't fit and some of it fell over my sweater. Overall, it's worth a try if you want something to eat, but I wouldn't stop for coffee only. read more

How do you like your pre-snowboarding breakfast? A lot of people like traditional eggs, breakfast, pancake, etc. Perhaps it's a New Yorker in me but I like my breakfast sandwiches. To the point where I will seek out a bagel with cream cheese in traditional diners and slap an order of fried egg on it. From this perspective this place was perfect. It's like a breakfast sandwich bonanza. Any kind of bread / bagel / roll / muffin you can think of with almost anything imaginable. Bacon, sausage, eggs, avocado, lox etc. Meticulously prepared and done in expeditious manner. To top it off they have a full barista and an espresso machine to rock your boat with whatever's the coffee drink of your choice. This is now our go to on our trips to Stowe and it opens super early to the point I feel bad for the ladies working there. Highly recommend you make this a stop on your schedule. read more

Our to-go lattes were very good - we had both an iced and hot version. No bitterness at all, so the underlying coffee was a smooth brew. Even more important, both baristas were friendly and competent - we even got a chipper "Good Morning" as we walked in the door on this very wet, gloomy day! Everyone was masked, and the only other patrons in there stayed socially-distanced away so that was reassuring and nice to see. We def will be coming back here for sure! read more

Excellent coffee place. Pastries are very good but probably only coffee ( not coffee flavored water) you can find in the town. VT ppl like very light coffee I guess, anywhere we go, we couldn't drink coffee. If you like strong coffee, this place is the closest you can get. We got croissants and maple scones. First time in America scones were not sugary bombs. Very balanced sweetness and very well baked. Very nice ppl also. read more

I went this morning for coffee and breakfast with five friends. The staff was very nice and there was lots of seating available. The giraffe theme was adorable and we have a friend who loves them so we came to take pictures. The sandwiches were great and fully customizable. Cute coffee shop in downtown Stowe. The staff was overwhelmed by the holiday weekend. Espresso drinks are made by machine, not a barista (ie your cappuccino is actually a watery latte). Both days my order was messed up. The first day I got three pastries instead of breakfast sandwiches, the second day only one breakfast sandwich and then a long wait for a second. Stopped here for a quick coffee and some breakfast. Ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 iced coffees and the bill came to $18 which is very reasonable, especially when compared to nearby shops. I also got my food and coffee in less than 5 minutes which again, is also reasonable when compared to nearby shops that make you wait 10-15 minutes. This is a new business, so two thumbs up for today! I like businesses that are respectful of my wallet and time. My maple iced coffee was great too. Will be back! read more

This is a cute little spot in Stowe, Vermont with giraffe themed decor and tasty breakfast options. The staff we interacted with were kind and quick with getting our order out. We each grabbed a breakfast sandwich, bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, plus a drink. Food was hot and tasty and drinks were exactly as we ordered. I loved that they had free flavored water and seemed conscientious about recycling. They had some tasty pastries in the counter so I grabbed some for the road. We indulged in a cinnamon role and a chocolate croissant and boy were those tasty! Not sure if they make them in house, but if they do they are absolutely knocking it out of the park with those 2. I loved this place! It's a cute little breakfast spot for a quick sandwich and coffee. Everything was fresh and so good. They have a lot of options for all parts of the breakfast sandwiches. I also love that they were environmentally friendly and they also had free infused water available for everyone that they changed daily. Was in there for 20 minutes for two coffees. Messed them both up. They were serving cold food and bad coffee. Almost everyone who got something, other than black coffee, was returning it. Paid 13$ for two vanilla lattes, but received two non-flavored lattes. Workers were arguing with each other, while serving a crap product. I'd avoid. read more
