Very clean and nicely decorated. Excellent service by the staff. Pizza is New York style. The dough is nice and crispy and the sauce is savory with a sweet finish to it. Giovanni's Pizza has the best crust I have ever had as it is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would also highly recommend the steak and greens wrap. This is my new favorite pizzeria when I come home to visit my parents! We placed an order by phone for take out. It was ready in the time promised and the staff was very nice! We ordered the chargrilled wings, at medium heat. As an added bonus they came with celery and blue cheese, as other places in the area now charge extra for this! The wings were sensational! Great flavor, crispiness, and very meaty! We also ordered a garlic pizza. The crust was to die for and had just the right amount of cheese, to garlic to white sauce. They have a fairly extensive menu with lots of other great looking items. On that their daily specials are listed, which are a great deal! They also offer pizza by the slice for walk ins. What a pleasant surprise found here in the cute little town of Clinton, NY. Went here for typical pizza and wings and ended up with Italian and local entrees. Abundant, delicious and so reasonable. This is our pizza go-to. Love their lasagna, too! Also, love that their wings are NOT breaded so you actually get deep fried chicken wings rather than deep fried coating. Ordered from out of town for a delivery to a friend in Clinton. I really don't appreciate not being told about the $5 delivery charge, even after I asked if they deliver and disclosing I am ordering out of town. Even worse, I was charged for pineapple and ham on the Hawaiian pizza. I am not sure if they would otherwise delivered just the pizza bread but Hawaiian pizza COMES WITH pineapple and ham on, they are not additional toppings. read more

Ordered food last night for the first time while visiting. The woman who took the order was very pleasant. I ordered 10 wings and chicken riggies. I got there only waited a few minutes. I was surprised my total was way more than the prices posted online but not that much of a biggie also wings came with 12 not 10 and they didnt bother to tell me any different. However the reasons why im not giving 5 stars is because i received two missed calls from them 45 min later. Not sure why they would call me i called them back and i said hello i have two missed calls from you and the guy said "yeah you have pizza here!" I said i didnt order pizza and he said "you didnt order 3 pizzas?!?!" I replied with no. He said "what did you order?!?!" I told him wings and riggies he said "oh i narrowed it down to two people" i was so shocked!! Like first off if youre going to call someone because they didnt pick up their order then have the right number before you are accusatory. He also did not apologize. Pizza was average. The girl tending the counter was lifeless and had zero personality. The worst thing is they still have the policy of not eating in the pizza place. WOW. I can't believe no one has reviewed this place before. They have the BEST pizza and wings I've had in this area! It is no longer called Grande's but is now called Giovanni's. I ordered pick up and the guy was really nice. I asked a lot of questions about prices and was indecisive with ordering but he still waited patiently. The food was prepared within the amount of time he said (20 minutes) so I was very impressed when I went exactly at the expected time and everything was ready for me. The pizza is just right!! The bread is not too thick but not too thin. The sauce tastes amazing and has this more sweet tomatoey flavor to it. There's also tons of cheese, just the way I like it! The pizza did have a bit too much oil for me but its what made the cheese delicious. The wings were so much bigger than I expected! They were juicy, meaty, crispy, and fried the right amount! YUM.Way better than the places that have tiny, over-fried wings around the area. Overall, amazing pizza and wings for this area, and for the price ($25 for large pepperoni pie + 10 hot wings). Best pizza in the neighborhood now that Pizza Place is gone. I came back from college lost because there was no pizza in town, but this place knows what's up. Cheese is good, you can tell from how it strings off when it's hot. (another test, reheating it after refrigerating the pizza, and seeing how well the cheese strings then as well). A bit oily, sure, but at least it's real cheese. Crust is done very well, top notch. Sauce is also just the right amount of sweet. read more

I'm from east utica and have had all the pizzas from the moms and pops shops around there. But hands down Giovanni's is the best. The sauce is very mild and light, not overwhelming or could clean the oil spot off the driveway haha. Everything tastes like it's made from scratch, and their prices are reasonable. Was in town visiting family and decided to try this place. I had never been there. The service was exceptional. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and made sure they had our order right. They said food would be ready in 20-25 minutes and it was ready in 20. The one staff person brought our order out to me (didn't slide it over the counter) and held the doors open for me. The food was excellent. Went with chicken riggies, large pizza with multiple toppings, and large antipasto salad. Very happy with all three choices. OMG. This is the best pizza joint in the greater Utica area! I was there working on a project and would drive a half hour to get there. Best mushroom pizza ever! Not to mention the staff and owners were INCREDIBLY, old school, neighborly kind to my best friend when disaster struck. I went to buy dinner and Giovanni's had ALREADY delivered a huge meal. Nothing like it Manhattan or Houston. Old school. The staff is outstanding. I loved Rubin and Sam. I recommend Giovanni's giving them 100 stars. The best. They always turn my orders around quickly and their sauce is really tasty. Everytime I am in Clinton I make it a point to stop for take out (I live in Liverpool NY). The young lady that takes the orders is so friendly and always greets me with a smile and kind words! The staff there is exceptional and the food is incredible! Yesterday I got the large upside down pizza with Gio Greens, mushrooms and peppers! Because it was so huge, I took it to my daughter's to share with her family and they were blown away! My 13 year old grandson is insisting we go back sooner than the usual 6-7 weeks! So I guess we will be doing a trip to Giovanni's soon. read more

Great pie!! Stopped in with our daughter after a soccer game. The pizza is very good...from the sauce to the shell to the toppings....everything was very tasty. They have a small eating area inside, but it is nicely done and comfy. Look forward to going back to try their other foods. read more
