It's my goal to try out all the pizza places in Central NY. Oliveri's is a stand out - friendly staff and a warm little cozy place probably does a lot of business in takeout. A huge shoutout to Oliveri's Pizzeria. They catered a lunch for about 75 people for the Hamilton Central School musical. Mike is a joy to work with, thorough and generous. And the food, as always, was delicious. It's not the first time he's provided food for our Masquers program, and it's not the first time it was delicious. We had a great variety to suit different ages and different palettes. It was delivered piping hot and on time. We ordered pizzas, baked ziti, tortellini in Alfredo sauce, salads, baked meatballs, chicken tenders, and their delicious baked chicken (I can't say enough about this baked chicken). I think I got everything. We did have leftovers, which is great, as some of us are now able to enjoy everything for just a bit longer. Thank you Mike and the crew at Oliveri's. Disappointed in the service at Oliverie's. The owner is always rude. Tonight we picked up our order, after waiting for the two items that weren't ready he started yelling at us. Stating he doesn't need our money. How busy he is. And on and on. We were calm and waiting patiently. This disrespect is totally uncalled for. This is not the first time we've had a problem with him. Our family won't order from there again because of this and we hope others that experience his behavior do the same. One of the best small town pizzerias of central NY, hands down. I grew up in upstate NY and this features some of the best pepperoni and anchovy pizza I've had south of Utica. The staff is welcoming, service is excellent, but the details put it over the top, such as Manhattan Special espresso soda, fresh parm and Utica grind for your pie. They even had chocolate milk and butter from a local creamery. But the one thing you can't miss are the wings with homemade blue cheese sauce--oof, Madone! 9.7/10, highly recommend. read more

this restaurant doesn't deserve a rating. First of all, I took the family out for what I thought was going to be an Italian dinner. For my grandson's birthday. Spaghetti with sausage and meatballs. We didn't receive our appetizer (garlic knots) until we were finished with our dinner. The sauce was watered down on the spaghetti, oh and did I mention that they don't have plates ?? Ordered delivery a few weeks ago. Took my number down wrong, dude back in the store calls back on my number and starts yelling at me to "PICK UP YOUR PHONR WHEN WE CALL YOU." What an absolute joke. Went downstairs and the delivery man indeed showed me that they did in fact have my number down wrong. This is one of my favorite places in the area. The pizza and subs are great when dinning it and it is one of the few places that deliver outside of the village proper, which is great when you live a bit outside of town like I do. I eat here at least once a week and love to get delivery while I'm watching a game. In addition I often get large orders to feed my students. It is my favorite pizza in central New York. The service is great and the owner is a really nice guy. It's a great place to come in and meet some locals and chat with the owner about Italian food and culture in Syracuse, Utica and even New York city. This place is a treasure that Hamilton is lucky to have. Please ignore some of the spoiled student reviewers on this site. Unfortunately some of the entitled children at the local university use Yelp as a way to get back at local businesses for things like noise complaints and parking tickets. Rude experience: Yesterday I arrived to pick up a $200 order my daughter placed for a party. When we walked in, no one was around. We stood at the counter. I looked over the counter and saw two people in the back, one person cooking and the second one sweeping. I called out "hello". After no response, I called out again "hello", to let them know someone was at the counter. I believe it was the owner who rudely approached and was very condescending. The exchange was very rude. I explained the experience later to some friends and was surprised to hear similar stories. No excuse for this behavior. read more

I ordered pizza from them, an hour and 45 minutes later it arrives and it's cold. I called asking why it was so late and they said it was "normal" The vodka riggies are inconsistent and often liquidy and boring. It is times like this when I wish Yelp offered zero stars. I do not find it fair that this "establishment" is grouped under "restaurants." Rather, it would probably be better off under "waste management," or "smoke shop." As the reviewer below insightfully noted, it does appear that the contents of cigarettes are poured into the pizza sauce. This is likely not the case (though no guarantees can be made), but a solid first step would be to stop chain smoking in the kitchen as they cook. I have on multiple occasions called on behalf of Oliveri's for an appearance on "restaurant disaster" shows so someone remotely sane can come help improve their operational, culinary, and sanitary deficits. Of course, as the saying goes, "when you're the worst restaurant in a college town that also houses Main Moon and La Iguana, you should probably just retire and live in the woods." But I digress. If you like cold food, prepared by people who probably care as much about satisfying you as they do about China's monetary policy, then Oliveri's is your spot. Been eating here for years. Sometimes the pizza is really good, amazing actually. Sometimes it is not. Its like I'm ordering from 2 different pizza places (mostly at night when the issues are) and I never know what I'm going to get. There should be a set standard way each pizza is made, the dough is evenly formed and not thinned out as you get to the center. Undercooked sometimes among other issues, sometimes really thick crust but no actual foundation for toppings. You know what I mean, like when it cooks so the dough is firm and when you pick up a piece it supports the toppings on it, instead of sagging and falling apart into a melted pile of not pizza that I must now rescue with a fork. And then sometimes, its a perfect pizza (usually during the day lunch / early evening). read more

This place was surprisingly good. It being a small Italian place in a small town, they knew how to cook some good food. I got their ravioli pasta with pesto and sausage. We ordered the Milan and a pepperoni pizza. The crust was ok, the sauce on the pepperoni was bland. The pepperoni coverage was a shockingly stingy 5%, perhaps two small rounds per slice. The bacon and sausage on the Milan looked and tasted like the dehydrated crumbles one might find at Costco, and the spinach was a thick dry mass in the center of the pie.
