I'm going five stars with a score of 9.8 out of 10. I had lunch around 11:30 today and by the time I left and an hour later the place was slamming. There was one waitress and she was doing a great job keeping up and I had no issues. I ordered my usual pepperoni and sausage and the 10 inch small size with a side garden salad and both were delicious. The side salad would feed two people just an FYI. I ate half and left half. I ended up taking half of my pizza with me which I may have this evening for dinner or tomorrow for lunch. This is a thin crust pizza with an abundant amount of sauce on it, which I really like. The pepperoni cheese and sausage we represented completely across the pizza. The pricing is excellent and the restaurant, wow hometown and quaint has been there for over 60 years I believe, and I love how the walls are decorated with local history and of course, The Ohio State Buckeyes as well. Where do I begin?!? Fast! Friendly! Helpful with the door! Accurate! Reasonably priced! DELICIOUS! The layering of the cheese pepperoni then cheese on their yummy spiced sauce is AMAZING. My only very very very slight minor dislike was that I only got 1 sauce for 2 cheesey bread sticks(sad because it's sweet, savory,spicy and good) it wasn't enough,but it was delicious. The best thing about my experience here was the lady who took my payment, she was very kind. The pizza and apple dessert both left a lot to be desired. The order was $55 and was ready fairly quickly, however that and the cashier were all that was good about it. The pizza was flavorless and limp except for the overwhelming flavor of feet from the provolone. I don't know who came up with the apple dessert but it's terrible and the texture made it worse. It had the texture of already chewed food. I don't want to sound rude but this was super disappointing. I'm here on business and the locals bragged about it being the best pizza in town, if that's true, I can't imagine what the other places serve. The pizza looked fantastic but had absolutely no taste. The sauce was little more than smashed tomatoes. The salads weren't bad. I cannot recommend this pizza place. I'm into good pizza and honestly would rather have one from Papa Johns or Domino's and they're my last resort. I hope the restaurant sees this review and makes some positive changes. Hadn't been to Gio's in Chillicothe in AGES! We ordered last night and it didn't disappoint. Still the best pizza in town. In addition to the pizza, my husband ordered pasta pizza...which for my money is essentially lasagna. I tasted it and it was quite yummy. We placed a carry out order because the din in g room is currently closed due to Covid-19. I'm happy to report that they are strictly following health and safety guidelines to keep customers and employees safe. We will be back! Great Pizza and Lasagna I grew up in Chillicothe, and Giovanni's has been a favorite of my family for as long as I can remember. I recently moved back to Chillicothe after spending almost 30 years in another city. I introduced my husband to this hometown favorite today, and he loved it. I ordered the baked lasagna, accurately described on the menu as "a hearty meal of steaming lasagna noodles layered with Giovanni's meat sauce cheese, then covered with more met sauce and cheese and baked to golden perfection." It came with a small salad of lettuce and diced tomatoes. I was also given the choice of a roll or garlic bread. I chose garlic bread, and I definitely made the right choice! The garlic bread was a heated, unsliced sub bun covered in a rich garlic butter that could have been a meal in itself. To describe this bread as delicious is a disservice to the taste of the bread. It was whatever several notches of delicious is! My husband ordered a specialty pizza called The Slice of Spice. The menu describes it as "spicy sausage, spicy pepperoni and hot peppers topped with our special spice." From our seats at the bar we could see the pizza being made. When I saw how many banana peppers were piled onto it, I knew I would not even be trying this pizza, because spicy is not my thing. My husband, however, loved it. He dubbed Giovanni's his favorite pizza place in Chillicothe, and is already planning our next visit. We sat at the tiny bar near the kitchen, but there is also a dining room with plenty of seating. Wowie was I disappointed. This is the absolute worst Giovanni's I've ever been to. We were passing through on our way to city of Columbus and decided to stop and get some Calzones. These calzones were flatter than my ex-girlfriends tits and as empty as her heart. Seriously though- no filling whatsoever. No sauce. A tiny bit of cheese. Maybe 3 mushroom pieces in each large calzone. Drier than a mummy's mouth too. Icing on the cake? THEY DIDNT EVEN CUT IT. Real bozo move right? In town for a meeting and almost everyone ordered from this restaurant bc it is close & has a good variety. We had a large group order and everyone paid in cash to one person who went & picked up our order. I ordered an antipasto salad. It had 2 paper thin slices of tomato, 9 slices of pepperoni, but lots of cheese and banana pepper rings. I got mine without the mushrooms, green peppers & olives. It was $7.50 which I thought was kind of expensive for the size. It was pretty good and I got a little over 1/2 way thru the salad when I came upon the hard core. Not only was it the core, but it was either dirty or rusty, whichever it was, it never should have been in my salad and pretty much made me lose my appetite. The last time I was here for a meeting and we ordered from here, I ordered a coney dog and it was cold so I ordered a salad, figuring they couldn't mess that up! Guess I was wrong. The 5-way Chili here is horrifying, and bears no resemblance to the real product you'd get from Skyline, Gold Star, or any other Cincy chili vendor. They do, however, make a pretty darn good thin-crust cheese pizza, and darn good garlic bread, but that fact that they'd advertise themselves as a Chili Parlor and fail at it badly means it evens out to two stars. read more

I cannot comment how this place compares to other pizza restaurants in Chillicothe. However the sauce was very sweet. I personally did not enjoy how sweet the sauce was. If you like that kind of thing this place might be for you. It was very busy so the locals must really like it. I had a 50 minute wait. I also got cheese sticks which were very good. read more

I went here for lunch yesterday with a few friends. We seated ourselves, and I got involved with something on my phone waiting for the waitress to show up. When she showed up, the people with me knew what they wanted, but I still had not decided so I told her I would need a minute. She looked at me and said "then put your da$* phone down and look at the menu". Shocked, I looked up and told her again that I needed a minute. She looked at my friend and said "that really burns me up". She went on to say "if you don't order right now I'm not serving you". I responded with "I'm not ordering anything now and want to speak with your manager". She smugly responded with "you're talking to her". I then said "I will never come back here again" and got up to leave and she looked at my friend and said "you know how to pick them" and walked off. I have never in my life had any waitress or waiter be that rude to me. I highly recommend to never dine in there or give them your business.
