HORRIBLE MANAGER!!! The manager is rude and unaccommodating! Do not go here if you have allergies! We ate at this Giordanos location a year or two ago and they were able to find something for my 8 year old son to eat that did not have dairy in it. This time, this manager didn't want to help us find anything, except the gluten free pizza. (As we all know eating gluten free is not the same as eating dairy free.). So I asked if the marinara sauce has Parmesan cheese in it. He told me, "I'd assume so". I asked if he could check the label and he told me everything comes prepackaged and they had thrown out all the labels. They did not have an allergy book either. We eat out several times a week and we've only run into this problem once before. We won't be going back to Giordanos in Naperville until this manager is gone. read more

I'm from California and was visiting a friend who just moved to Naperville. I've had deep dish pies like this before from places such as Zachary's in Berkley, CA and Chicago Fire in Sacramento, CA. Giordanos was great! We just ordered our pizza to go since the dine-in wait was long and it does take them about 45 minutes to make the pizza. I only get delivery and have never been in the restaurant so my review is based solely on my home dining experience. I think the thin crust pizza is great, but have had soggy crust issues once or twice. The extra layer of crust on the deep dish is a nice touch. My favorite is spaghetti and meatballs. The Mrs and I love Giordano's deep dish pizza (the spinach, especially). Although not our favorite deep dish, it ranks near the top. The parking at this location is pretty convenient and the staff has always been courteous. The deep dish pizzas take a long time to make (as is the case of all deep dish, I think) so it's a good thing they have an assortment of appetizers. The mozarella sticks are some of my favs here. The thin crust pizza is also decent here, but there are definitely other places I like better. The price is on the expensive side, which keeps Giordano's from getting five stars but if you've never been to Giordano's I'm sure you'll like it. One last thing that's cool is that you can order a pizza online and have it shipped elsewhere (frozen). While I've never tasted a frozen one, friends who I have had them shipped to said the pizza tasted awesome. read more

I went this past weekend with my boyfriend, it had been about two years since we had Giordano's so we were excited! We ordered out stuffed pizza before we were seated since it was packed! After 30 minutes of waiting, we were finally seated. The server took about 10 minutes to come to our table. She took our drink order and confirmed that the pizza will be coming soon. Seem we waited a long time for our food, Pasta was under cooked and missing ingredient on the pizza, meat balls were really over cooked. The waiter said he talk to the manager about the missing ingredient and would take money off the bill but only really took off the money they had charged for the item. I would not go back again. The salad was great, but I personally did not care for the pizza. The crust was underwhelming and there was a ton of cheese on the pizza without enough sauce to balance it. Only thing that wasn't 5 stars was that bride & groom were late getting there & they ended up without seats until another table left & was cleared. I chose the cream of chicken soup ( seriously the BEST I've ever had ) and a deep dish personal size pizza with Italian sausage. It was AMAZING. This review is due to service, promoted by the manager... after waiting the expected 90 min ready time, we called the restaurant to see how much longer our one pizza and one appetizer would take. The manager speaking on the other end of the line very rudely said that the driver had rang the doorbell and knocked on the door. A group of 4 of us had been sitting on the main level and never heard any of those things happen. The manager continued to be rude and said they would send the driver back but "I'm sorry if your doorbell is broken" and he heard laughing inside. We understand if the doorbell gave problems (even though it's not broken), but there was no reason for the rudeness from the manager, but the driver definitely did not knock on our door loud enough for anyone but him to h. They should understand that there are miscommunications and this could have been avoided if the delivery driver had actually knocked on the door. At very least, the manager should know how to handle a miscommunication of any sort and simply let us know how they will correct the situation. read more

Giordanos is why Deep Dish Chicago Pizza is famous! The other chains don't hold a candle to the real deal and this is where i take all family and friends when introducing them to Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and it's ALWAYS a hit! Tonight I ordered a pizza for take out and after ordering was told that the restaurant would be closed by the time the pizza was ready so they would be waiting at the door with my pizza. WOW. Above and beyond customer service with an outstanding product. Just wish the restaurant itself was bigger with a little more interesting interior. Pretty basic inside, unlike Lou's around the corner which is a renovated fire station. Of course the food at Giordanos trumps any lost ambiance inside. I am a devoted fan. read more

Terrible service - we waited at least 15-20 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there, and there were only 4-5 other tables filled at the time. On a weekend night in downtown Naperville I was surprised there weren't more customers and also that the service was so poor and inattentive. In terms of taste of food - the review for that would be 5 stars! But careful: I've been quite turned off of visiting this pizza chain after my last few visits and carry out orders from there. If you MUST have pizza, I'd highly suggest just going elsewhere in all honesty. Yes, I would be the first to admit it tastes so good....but WHAT is going into your pizza is the important question!??! However, the general lack of cleanliness is something I think needs to be commented on, and the management needs to take more seriously: on MORE THAN ONE occasion, I've had pizza either in the restaurant or taken home, and found multiple pieces of hair in them (disgusting!!!!!!). The one time I was AT the restaurant and it happened, I asked to speak to a Manager and when he finally arrived (10 minutes later) seemed to think it was no big deal and nothing wrong with the fact that a clump of hair was sitting underneath the melted cheese in my pizza. His solution was to take (only) half off the price for that one pizza....Needless to say that was very much the incorrect solution for the problem. After being disgusted by that incident, I vowed never to go back. However, my reason for writing this request was I was just in there earlier today with some relatives from out of town who insisted for deep dish pizza. After getting the pizza and pulling apart the layers to inspect it (as has now had to, sadly, become necessary when eating at their locations) I found yet MORE strands of dark hair scattered throughout the piece of pizza I was just about to bite into. People of Naperville (and surrounding areas) NEED TO BE WARNED of this potential health hazard of a restaurant: My question is:: WHAT IN THE WORLD is going on in the kitchen, that it's MORE common to find chunks of hair in your pizza than it is to NOT ?!?!!? read more

I LOVE Giordanos. Some people say it's not the best read "Chicago" pizza - but I'm not from Chicago, so I don't care too much what a Chicago pizza is, I care what tastes amazing. The deep dish stuffed pizza is basically a pizza "pie", with a thicker pie-like crust, then cheese, then the sauce on top. Note: If you're getting delivery, they don't cut the pizza as it's very greasy, but you get a plastic thing to cut with. If you can't do it, you can ask them to cut it in advance, but it's messy!!! read more

Ok I don't want to be negative especially with my first review. This was such a HORRIBLE experience that I had to stop others. We went on 12-26-19 with a group of 10. You understand it can be slow for a group. The poor server. They must have had 3 for the entire place. The drinks were non existent. The pizza that we put in during the 45 minute wait for the table was under cooked. We had to argue who would be stuck taking it home. Why? Because you would have to put it in the oven to finish it. Why did the table take so long? Because they had half the tables dirty with nobody cleaning. Don't go into the restroom. My lord, it was like a third world country. Here's a simple suggestion. If you can't have enough people to work, close. Close the dining room! Don't make people wait 2 hours while the carry out pizzas are being made. Just punt. The bill was $400 bucks and it was the best money I ever wasted, because I can finally just get Lou Malnatis. My entire family finally quit after last night. Deep dish is good. However, thin crust and ultra thin pizza's are not good at all. Gone several times to the Naperville store. The last two times, they totally botched the ultra thin--put way too much cheese on those-and, IMO, the thin doesn't taste as good as Lou's, or even Aurelio's. Had a horrible experience with them last night order a pizza for delivery they said it was going to be about an hour I was ok with that then they called are phone saying it was going to be another 30 minutes so we tried calling them and they kept hanging up there phones so at pizza is already 2 hours late at this point and we can't cancel the order because we keep getting hung up on so we go into the store and we speak with Alexis bless her heart by the way but she tells us that her manager had instructed all the girls up front to hang up on all of the phones and when the manager came out to ask us what the issue was I explained to him the situation and when I asked him why are you hanging up all the phones this whole situation could have been avoided if we could have just talked to someone at least and he just walked a way pissed and maid the girls deal with all the angry customers they were awesome and took care of us but that manager needs to be fired very un professional but like I said the girls upfront were amazing at handling the situation why the manager just ran to the back avoiding me aswell as the other 8 customers having the same issues read more

Constantly have issues with these kids. I gave them three chances but now I'm going to a different pizza place. Today was the last straw. I ordered 2 pizzas and a 2L of Pepsi. After 1.5hrs kid pulls up with a green V6 Mustang. Called me because couldn't find the address which isn't the issue. Pulls out one pizza and smiles and says "I forgot the 2L". I'm like where's the other pizza? "Ummmm". Not only do I always have to repeat myself on the phone I have to repeat myself in person. He gives me the ONE pizza and asks me to sign for charges. Are you kidding me? Like "I don't have 2/3 of your order but here sign this and fuck off." Since I had guests over I didn't make a big deal of it and asked him to get the manager to call me. You guessed it, no one called me. When I called the place back 15 minutes later they didn't even know any of this happened. I had to ask to speak to the manager just to find out he does not even care. They all just want you to shut up and wait. I don't care how busy a Saturday gets. 3 hours for 2 pizzas is straight stupid. I didn't even make a big deal, I asked him when we can get the rest of our stuff and he said he'll try to get it here in 25 minutes. Note we live 5 minutes away. After about 50 minutes our soggy ass deep dish gets here. I felt bad not tipping the second driver but this was ridiculous. Never again. Being an overseas visitor I was looking forward to revisiting Giordano's - I'd had great experiences in the past. We ordered the 'Special' which was delicious but were entirely unimpressed with the Bacon BBQ Chicken, there was a hideous amount of BBQ sauce which had to be scraped off. We love BBQ sauce but I think they put on a whole bottle of Sweet Baby Rays! Completely out of balance. I'll order other pizzas again but with my fingers crossed. read more

We ordered online for a work function and was told through their website that it would be here in an hour to an hour and a half. After waiting an hour and a half, we called looking for our order and was told by the lady that answered that our order was on its way... Which she asked her manager about and he confirmed that it was on its way. After another half hour, we called again and they then told us they never got our order and that it was never on its way. Then she proceeded to tell us that "oh, this happens A LOT with our online orders". I would like to begin by saying I am from New York. We take our pizza very, very seriously. I still prefer NY style pizza! But I just moved to Chicagoland and after a long day of moving, my stomach started to eat itself. My friends and I decided to order some pizza. I opened the phone book, closed my eyes, twirled my pointer finger around and landed on Giordano's. "How terrible can cheese and bread be?" I pondered aloud. I ordered a large with pepperoni (New Yorkers are pizza puritans) and hoped for the best. It took awhile for the driver to get there (I guess it takes a long time to bake something that is the same height as a high heeled shoe), and when he did, this angel of calories handed a box to me that weighed about 15 pounds. What the hell did I order? Only maybe the most magical thing I have ever put into this blessed mouth! I don't care if it's a traveling cheese eating contest. Received a burnt pizza tonight and burnt garlic bread. Called the manager and at first he didn't believe me. Seriously as a customer I have no reason to make this up. He resent our order. Nice surprise was Marco who brought our new order. Very nice to see him. Our order was perfect. We are most grateful. Best stuffed pizza ever! Puts Lou's and Gino's to shame! They make the best crust! Not too doughy, not too thin (Lou's) and they most importantly they don't use cornmeal on the crust (Lou's and Gino's)!!! I am not a sausage pizza type of person but this place has the best tasting sausage I have ever had! Will make ANYONE love sausage! Also, their house salad is delicious! So this is my first ever deep-dish pizza... I ordered a starter Caesar salad and a deep-dish ham and bacon pizza. The girls that took the order were beyond lost! An hour and a half later the salad and pizza were delivered. The salad was 90% white and yellow romaine lettuce 10% green. It was OK; I ate about half and chucked it. I then eagerly opened the pizza box and was not impressed. I sliced a wedge and started eating. It was just a horrid taste. It tasted like someone dropped a salt shaker on the pizza. I was not hot, it did not look good, and it did not taste good. Cost me $38 for garbage! Just stay away and order good NY style pizza! Hell Papa Johns will deliver me a pizza for 12 bucks! read more
