This particular spot sits in a strip mall but do not let that fool you. Inside, it is honestly one of the best decorated locations I have ever walked into. They went with this raw industrial pump station theme that looks awesome. Even the bathroom tiles are set at crazy angles that make you question your own balance. Enough about the restrooms, though. We walked right in right at peak dinner rush, and they still seated us quickly. Our server, Sandy, got drinks going immediately. I always need a local pour when I am in the area, so I grabbed an Anti Hero IPA from Revolution Brewing on draft. The crisp piney bitterness and solid head on the pour was the exact reset I needed after hours behind the wheel. Next up came the signature Malnati Salad. It landed on the table fast and tasted incredibly fresh. That savory crunch from the premium salami bits paired up beautifully with the tangy gorgonzola. It was the perfect start. For the main event, we ordered the Chicago Classic deep dish on the famous buttercrust. It actually came out quicker than the usual deep-dish wait time. Truth be told, the pie felt a little skimpy on the toppings and cheese this time around. I know this pizza well, and this specific one was just a bit weak on the execution. The flavor was absolutely there because that buttery crust and bright vine ripened tomato sauce never miss but I wanted more weight to it. I noticed online they have been running a hot honey special lately, and I almost wish I had added that for a little extra kick. Even with a slightly thin pizza, the visit was great. Sandy was an absolute rock star. The table right next to us was being seriously unkind to her for no good reason, but she stayed totally professional and knocked our service completely out of the park. She got us fed and back on the road feeling good.

Every Lou Malnati's pizza is handmade from scratch using the finest and freshest ingredients. Every year, the Malnati team hand selects California vine-ripened tomatoes for the perfect sweet and tangy taste. The fresh mozzarella cheese comes from the same small dairy that has supplied Lou Malnati's for over 40 years. And the family's secret recipe for flaky, buttery crust has been passed down from generation to generation. The restaurant has a very industrial and mechanical vibe like downtown Chicago. We were greeted promptly and seated in a booth in the dining area. The service was very attentive and friendly and engaged with us in light conversation. We ordered the Malnati Chicago Classic pizza made with Lou's lean sausage, some extra cheese and vine-ripened tomato sauce on Buttercrust in size medium that was perfect for 3 people. It takes a while for the pizza to be made and baked because it is fresh. The pizza was made fresh with fresh tomatoes for the red sauce and had generous toppings. It was served fresh from the oven and the waitress cut the pizza for us and served us at the table. The cheese was stretching when she was serving the pizza. Enjoyed our experience at this restaurant and a chance to try the Chicago deep dish pizza while on our trip.

My son suggested that we order a pizza from Chesdan's and I could pick it up after shopping at the mall. He called in for a large sausage and cheese for me to pick up. When I go there I asked about the soup of the day it was Italian wedding, of course I had to have it, that is one of my favorites. I live in Brighton Park and my family and friends always meet at Chesdans on Archer for all occasions. It was are go to place. Then they up and moved in 2002, we really missed them. That is 24 years now I was at the new location twice with friends, and the pizza is still the best. It took me an hour to get back home, and I couldn't wait to eat that pizza and soup. Yes my son and I ate the whole large pizza, soooooooo good, we couldn't stop eating it. Still my favorite pizza, love the sauce, sausage and crunchy crust, still make a great pizza. So glad my son suggested me picking it up, as I don't get out there that often. Until next time, we will order another pizza to go. Love that pizza by Chesdan's. Clara and Ed O'

We arrived on Monday at 410pm just after they opened. They have a bar that seats about 10 and several tables in the storefront area. We chose to sit at the bar. At the time there was only one table occupied by a party of 4 in the dining area. We were greated by a lady who came out from the back and she told us she would be with us if a few minutes because they had just opened. We immediately liked her as she had a sassy, but friendly personality. We had called at 4pm when they opened and ordered a medium 18 inch thin crust pizza with sausage, mushrooms and 1/2 jalapeño. We did this to shorten the wait for dinner because we were hungry. Also, Monday is their 1/2 price any size pizza day for dine in or take out. Our server, who we think is one of the owners came back and we ordered a draft beer and wine. They offer beer and wine. I didn't see any mixed drinks, but I'm not sure. Our drinks came right away. The pizza arrived and we really enjoyed it. It had a thing crisp crust with a glaze of tomato sauce. I would order extra sauce next time, but most probably enjoy it the way it came out. The sausage was tasty and the mushrooms and jalapeño were fresh, not canned (bonus). It was topped with an adequate amount of mozzarella. Not good at giving ratings, but I would say 8 out of 10 which is high to our taste. Shortly after our pizza arrived the place literally filled up and there was a line for people picking up. We will definitely be back. Now one of our favorites in the area.
