The food is good... when you finally get it. If you get it. My daughter and got our order but my husband's spicy turkey melt was 45 minutes late in getting to our table... why they gave it to another table and when asked we really didn't get an apology. They remade it and it was out to our table in 5 minutes... however it wasn't what he ordered... a 12". It was a 6". Sooooo I'm not very happy being charged one thing and basically screwed on this. Wow. We ordered our food to go and just got home and realized they messed up our order. My husband ordered a BLT w/ avocado and light mayo for me. Instead, I got a half of some kind of pork with melted cheese sandwich. I called the store and spoke to a nice lady. After explaining my situation, she apologized and offered me a complimentary entree for the inconvenience. It's because of her professionalism that I gave this McAllister's Deli three stars instead of one. We called to place an order for pickup. McAllister's kept me on hold for 20 minutes and then they hung up on me.

Waited over 40 minutes for an online order. The place was busy but didn't expect to wait that long for 2 salads and a sandwich. After waiting for quite some time I asked one of the workers if my order was ready. Turns out it was sitting by the back computer and was already ready. I used to like the food here, they have changed. The staff laugh at you when you tell them there is an issue with the food. Ordered a couple of sandwiches, one had Stale bread. One half of the sandwich they used the heel of the loaf. Don't expect a deli to serve the heel of the loaf. They forgot to send the soup or pickles. The spud was spoiled and my son took one bite and threw it in the garbage. When I called in the manager keep laughing and said they only could put my name in a spreadsheet. I needed something warm and comforting and McAlister's Deli always delivers. Their sandwiches are huge, fresh and full of flavor and what I appreciate is that you can customize them. I had the New Yorker - the pastrami and corn beef were the perfect combination. I paired my sandwich with the thick and creamy chicken dumpling soup. I'll start by saying the food is good, the service and initiative to get customers who PRE ORDER the food out is BEYOND LACKING. Waited more than 20 minutes in a "call ahead only" drive thru is atrocious; not to mention that if you are in line and someone comes behind you there is NO WAY OUT. After escaping the drive thru (because that's ultimately what it was once everyone behind me got sick of waiting) I then waited at least 10 minutes INSIDE to pick up the online order. To my dismay, I was not the only one who had been waiting an extended amount of time to receive food that had been again PRE ORDERED. I will never set foot in Mokena store I could not believe how badly they messed up my order for myself my family a Reuben sandwich so simple and it was just beef on wife's chicken sandwich was so small. Window pickup. When I arrived the employees weren't in too much of a hurry to respond to the window. Just before I was going to pull away and park the window opened. I told the girl my name and she looked quizzically at me and went back. A few minutes later I was given my order. When I returned home I found the sandwich cool. I searched for the free pickle but to no avail. For my side I requested the cucumber and tomato salad. I think there is a sliver of a tomato in there, or is it an onion. I would like to start with I always loved that my son enjoys eating here when his favorite restaurant is McDonald's. When we first started eating at McAlisters the food was always great and restaurant was clean. The second to last time we ate there, literally every table was dirty and the kitchen full of kids talking instead of working. Tonight I dared to take my son, ordered the meal and when it came the entrees were fine but 3 sides of Mac n Cheese were scraped from the bottom of the barrel. I was mind boggled they would give it to someone in the first place. I took it to the counter and said " this is absolutely horrible". the person at the register didn't say anything, took them to the back and heard laughing. Several minutes later they came out with three new cups of Mac n Cheese, as they should have looked in the first place. We went to the bathroom to wash hands after and the bathrooms were dirty. This is a good place to go if you want a quick meal but want the dine in experience with food brought to the table. I have been here for both lunch and dinner. I have tried the extra large potatoes with toppings. The potatoes are good with the toppings for dinner. At lunch, I had a salad and it was really good. Not a great experience! We walked in 20 minutes before close and placed our order. We were offered dine in or carry out and chose to dine in. We did not get our food until 5 minutes till 9 and they forgot the $4.79 cup of soup. When they did bring that it was lukewarm and half full. We were about half done with our food when the girl who took our order came and said they were locking up but she would bring us to go containers. If she had told us from the beginning that we could only get it to go we would have left and gone somewhere else. We could hear her and her coworker arguing in the back while we were waiting for our food. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been checked in a while. There was paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor. If you want to stop serving food before your closing time, lock the door. I don't think we will be back. Absolutely terrible. Not sure if this is considered 'fast food' but the fact they have a drive through leads me to believe they expect to process the orders fairy quickly. That is not the case as I waited nearly 30 minutes to get my food and when I finally got it, it was not good. I ordered a Rueben and there was no cheese on it. The Mac n cheese was like a soup. The potato soup was sour. Concerningly sour. I've had the soup several times and never has it been SOUR. After a while I was able to get ahold of them on the phone. I asked if they put lemon juice in the soup, I was informed they do not, and I said that is extremely concerning considering the soup is SOUR. They were adamant there was nothing wrong with the soup. Interesting considering if you took one bite of the soup, you would definitely know something was WAY off. Went here for lunch im not really from the area and had a taste for a sandwich. It the sandwich was just ok nothing special i got the italian. It was falling apart in my hands but thats ok. My friend had the the turkey it was also alright. The spinach was slimy already which you would think a sandwich place would have fresh ingredient topping for all the sandwhiches. Plates we ate on were dirty. Co workers must just put them in the dishwasher. Hint... sometimes u have to scrub it to get the caked stuff on.
