Very good first experience ordering a large amount of take out food for 8 people from Ginza on a Sunday night. We ended up with more food then we could eat since kitchen entrees come with soup & salad. We had various a la carte sushi rolls, a sushi combo entree, chicken udon noodle soup, pork katsu, chicken teriyaki & chicken hibachi. No real complaints from anyone in the group. Found this gem last night and we were so happy!! The sushi was fresh and delicious. Huge menu to choose from. All you can eat menu or ala carte. Much more than just sushi - the bento box is also wonderful and plentiful. Food was absolutely delicious and portions were huge. Only issue I had was with the soda, $2.50 a bottle. Just ridiculous. Quite possibly the worst "sushi" restaurant I've ever been to. Surprised it is even able to remain in business but then again it is Lancaster where low standard restaurants are accepted. I would not eat raw seafood from this place. Just know that if you order vegetarian fried rice that 1) It will just be broccoli 2) It's not even fried! They will literally serve you cold rice mixed with soy sauce. The lady they have working the dining room will stare you dead in the eye and act like it's good food. And if you ask if there are any other vegetables she'll just say "onion". $9.00 wasted for a dish that cost $0.75 to make. Disgraceful. Go to Yuzu instead. read more

Prices are not bad and atmosphere is unremarkable. Would not recommend the raw sushi here. Ordered sashimi and the fish was discoloured and the salmon had visible small holes in it. I don't think it was fully spoilt but definitely not fresh. High rice to fish ratio on the sushi rolls. Matt salad was ok, heavy on the mayo and light on the mango. Awful experience. Got some takeout pork dumplings and chicken lo mein for Friday night dinner treat. What a mistake. The dumplings were ok. The lo mein was the worst I have had. I asked for it spicy and it was tasteless. Seemed like they boiled some udon noodles, chicken and a few veg together. Not even salt or soy seemed to be used, let alone anything more flavorful. Ginza is a wonderful option in an area devoid of places to eat if you are not interested in another sandwich. I frequently call in a to-go order for lunch and have found their portions to be generous while not costing a lot. I've ordered their Bentos, Age Mono, salads and sushi. I have really enjoyed everything that I have had but the Shaky Dog roll stands out as something creative and delicious that I haven't seen elsewhere. The Shaky Dog is a coconut crusted shrimp with rice and then the roll is topped with spicy crab. It is incredible-- just spicy enough, not too mushy, no flavors that drown out the rest. The restaurant itself is in a sort of strip mall sandwiched between The Greenfield and Isaac's. If you're not actively looking for it, you might miss it. The interior is done in dark tones and it's spacious and very clean and not overdone with tchotchkies like weird fountains and waving cat statues. One of my favorite parts of going to Ginza to get my lunch is that there is frequently an adorable little girl sitting behind the counter who will wave but is very shy. The family that runs Ginza are lovely people. I wish them much success and not just so I can get my Shaky Dog fix. :) read more

Came to try the all you can eat sushi despite the mixed reviews. Some folks said it's sub par, not worth it, it's excellent, best ever had, and worst service, friendly service. A bit confusing right?! Hopefully this review makes more sense.. We got seated right away. The space seemed a bit tight inside. The waiter was full of lots of positive energy, was quick to bring the waters out, and was always running around keeping up with all tables. Sushi: there was a few min of a wait when putting in an order of sushi.. but that's expected cause they're making it as you order. First plate had the ginger and wasabi.. if it's still on the plate, they will take it and you won't get any on your upcoming plates. Tip: take toppings off and put into a side dish. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because my wife enjoyed her fried shrimp roll. How can you mess that up right? The Yellowtail roll I ate must have been frozen 3X's cause it tasted like water. I took the roll apart just to eat the Yellowtail to find out what was up. Of course the flavor was very faint just eating the fish alone. The rice buried all the flavor as it was bland as..... The rice was cold when the roll that was served. I should have known better to order the all you can eat.. Not sure you can call this stuff sushi. I would highly recommend to avoid anything on the list that is raw. For dinner I ordered the chicken Katsu Don & hubby had the chicken teriyaki - the Don was so good, the chicken was tender & moist, and sauce did not overpower the taste of the chicken & rice, also it was not over eggy. Hubby meal was moist and tender. Me doing a carry out is normal; hubby doing a carry out is unheard of - today we both did a carry out - !!! Good fresh sushi, I had a Chicken bento and sushi sashimi combo lunch. The service was great, waitress was attentive. The sushi tasted very fresh and pieces were nicely sized. The Teriyaki Chicken bento had a variety of items, rice, shumai, the chicken with teriyaki sauce on top of a bed of mixed veggies. They offer miso soup and an onion/mushroom broth. The salad dressing was typical sushi fare, the lettuce was very fresh and crisp. Only very slight issue I had was that sometimes you can hear the chefs in the back shouting/talking...hocking up some split... However, over all a good experience. read more

We have been here twice (Monday & Saturday nights). During the week they have a buy 2 get 1 free from their special rolls and on the weekend they have all you can eat sushi for $20. Great deals if you're hungry enough. When we went it was really busy (Valentine's Day) but we were seated within a few minutes. There were only two servers taking care of the tables and two guys making sushi. The wait time for the sushi was incredibly fast even though they apologized because it was so busy. In most sushi places when aren't even busy the sushi is prepared much slower. The sushi was great. Between the two times we have visited, we tried 9 different rolls. On our recent Civil War tour of four states, there were only two restaurants we dined at that set themselves apart, and were both truly unique, and truly different. This was one of them. We loved how that, even though it was a Sushi restaurant, they also catered to vegetarian, and vegan diets. They actually had vegan items on the menu for us. We loved that. What they had for us were wheat, Odon noodles with vegetables in a nice, light sauce. Back home, we can usually only find this in soup. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the vegetables were cooked, but still crisp, and the flavor was both savory, and balanced. We would have preferred brown rice, and firm tofu instead of the silken tofu, but, considering where we were in the world, we were pleased as punch to find what we found. The prices were fair, the service was excellent, and the overall experience was enjoyable. I also liked that it was just a short walk from our hotel. Ginza is highly rated on Yelp and I can see why. The Boston Red Sox roll was a creative variation on typical sushi rolls as it was lightly fried in tempura batter. It certainly was not classic sushi but the flavor profile was yummy. The menu contains quite a few unique rolls. I also had a two piece Tomiko roll. I love roe and this one did not disappoint. I love getting that fresh, fushy explosion of flavor. The service was prompt and attentive on this quiet afternoon. There were never more than 3 patrons in the restaurant while I was there. I need a translator for communicating with my waitress at one pont, but it was no big deal. Now the reasons why I could not give 5 stars: The scallion pancake was really greasy and starchy. It had great flavor but I usually have had lighter texture at other restaurants. The tempura fried green tea ice cream was clearly prepackaged and it too was really greasy. Stick to the sushi on the menu and it will be a 5 star experience. I plan to go back when i return to Lancaster. Oh BTW, great place for kids....no alcohol. read more

Working in PA this week, staying in Lancaster. This place was right next to the Hampton Inn where I am staying. Love having places I can walk to after a long day. I love Sushi but my co-worker did not want Sushi so I had checked and saw they had Hibachi and Teriyaki dishes so he agreed to go. The place is very small but the quality is great. We shared apps of Tempura Shrimp ($7.95) and Chicken Yakitori ($4.95). The Chicken was good. The Shrimp Tempura was really good. I had a couple pieces of Maguro Tuna as a app also (2 pieces per order $4.00). It was great sushi. Cut just right, light but not paper thin and very fresh tasting. My co-worker had Salmon Hibachi ($18) and liked it a lot. The entrees come with choice of Miso Soup or Salad with Ginger Dressing and White Rice as a side to the entree. Fried Rice is $1 extra. We both had the salad (I am not a Miso Soup fan). The salad was simple and the dressing tasty. I would ask them to go lighter on it next time as it was pretty heavy on the dressing. I had the Combination Hibachi ($19) which is your choice of any two of the meat options beef, chicken, shrimp or salmon. I chose beef and shrimp. It was really good. Came over a medley of sauteed sliced Mushrooms, Onions and Zucchini done on the Hibachi with the meat. I usually mainly go for Sushi but I really wanted to see what they offered as a Japanese Restaurant beyond the Sushi and they passed the test with flying colors. Looks like they have some pretty fancy Sushi Rolls if you like those. Next time I might explore the Sushi more.
