Had a few good things here, General Tso's chicken is decent usually. Everything else is pretty poor.

Excellent service, surprisingly nice place. Very fresh modern and clean. Extensive menu Chinese, sushi and even a bit Thai. Portions are great, personally I found it with great flavors a bit on the light side, a little bland. Or maybe I expected very strong flavors. Overall great nonetheless. Plenty parking and good location. I'll be back to try other dishes that are usually with stronger flavors. Good value place. read more

We stopped in for lunch with friends ... what a surprise! My wife's favorite, Walnut Chicken, was on the menu making her a happy camper. I took one of the lunch specials, a Sushi / Sashimi Mix with California roll. It's been a long time since I've been so impressed with the generosity of the sashimi portions. The fish was fresh ... making two happy campers! Pricing was very reasonable. In all, the experience at Wu's went well beyond our expectations. Our friends chose from the Chinese part of the menu and report that they were both pleased and satisfied with their meals. Parking can be a little tight depending on the amount of traffic in the little strip mall location. The restaurant has an open, airy, welcoming atmosphere; a very clean and upscale look. Wu's location is easy to miss. I'm reminded of an old college motto from my ancient past: "If you can find us, you know where we're at!" But is it worth looking for the place? Definitely! Review update: Wu's Garden continues to provide quality Chinese food in Leola. The staff is helpful and nice, and provides quick and accurate service. Over the pandemic they had good measures put into place for safety, but now the dining room is back open and remodeled! Their prices have only increased slightly, but remain a good value. They now offer catering platters and weekly specials which can be found on their website. Recently I tried the bento box which included chicken and broccoli, rice, kani salad, and a spicy tuna roll for $14.99. It was a great change from my usual order. I still highly recommend Wu's Garden. read more

So disappointed in this place. The roast pork egg for Young hardly had any roast pork, I was told it had vegetables but there were hardly any. The sauce was very dark and mostly soy sauce and a pretty skimpy portion of it although the egg foo yong omelettes were a good size. I ordered a Small House Special Lo Mein. I asked to replace the shrimp with more pork or beef or chicken, their choice. She told me they couldn't do that without charging me more money. I told her the shrimp cost more than the rest of the items and I just want it replaced with something else. she said the computer wouldn't let her do that. So it Didn't happen. There was barely any meat in it, and almost no vegetables whatsoever. It also tasted like it was sitting in the refrigerator uncovered for days. She asked if I wanted white rice with the egg foo yong and I said yes. (it always comes with white rice. (Unless you want brown). They charged extra for it. $30 for those two items. Based on my experience as a fan of Chinatown in Philadelphia, Wu's was a disappointment. The restaurant is welcoming, efficiently staffed, attractive, and clean. But today's meal of Happy Family didn't come close to the wonderful flavor experiences that I've had elsewhere. The flavorful light sauce that I am accustomed to was a thick, tasteless goo at Wu's. The medley of chicken beef and seafood was bland with the most flavorful part of the meal being an undercooked slice of celery. Where was the mouthwatering "pop" that I am accustomed to? Bland Chinese food seems to be standard for Lancaster County, so I have to assume that's what local diners want. Blandness is a wasted opportunity for a Chinese restaurant. read more

First let me say that this review is based on a first time visit and I can only comment on those menu items we tried. The menu is quite vast, so there is always the chance that other items are much better. However, based on what we received this time, I doubt we will pay a return visit anytime soon. As appetizers we chose the bone in ribs and steamed pork dumplings. First of all, the ribs included 4 of them, in which only 1 was meaty and somewhat tender. The other 3 were quite small and extremely chewy. A little bit of fat would have helped and made them seem less like jerky. The dumplings were the biggest disappointment. They were almost slimy to the touch and tasted rubbery. We removed the dumpling, which made the filling quite edible along with a good dipping sauce. We decided to share a Hibachi Shrimp & Scallop... a big mistake. The servings consisted of very small scallops that were both rubbery and truly tasteless. There were more pieces of shrimp, and they were much larger in size, however they were way overcooked and chewy. The container they came in gave the appearance of a generous serving, but that was deceptive. The container was 3/4 veggies, which were way undercooked for all of the variety. Slightly al dente is fine, but this was practically raw. We could not eat much of it. Now comes the desserts. We chose sugar biscuits and fried ice cream. The biscuits were just fine. The fried ice cream was another huge mistake. We had our order delivered and it did come in a timely manner. However, they packaged it in the worst way imaginable... a simple plastic container with no insulation to protect the ice cream. I checked it before anything else and it was already nothing but a puddle of cream. And it certainly did not look like the picture on their site. All in all, with so many other really good Oriental places available to choose from, I think we will skip Wu's in the future, I am sorry to say. read more

Newly renovated!! The inside is absolutely stunning! The presentation of the food is just as incredible! Nothing about this place is basic. Wu's Garden is very unique feels fancy even... The price for food is extremely reasonable, very good prices.. The taste of the food is so good!!! And so fresh! You gotta try this place!!! Food is always good. My favorite is the orange chicken and also the boneless spareribs. Shrimp fried rice was booooommmmmbbbbbbb! I usually order take out or get delivery. Delivery can take a ling @ss time, so just be on the watch for how long it could take. Sometimes the order has been delivered in like 30 minutes. .This was my first time trying Wu's Garden. I was expecting much better food based on the reviews. On the plus side: the ordering was easy online and ready for pick-up as promised. The portions are HUGE. The spring rolls crispy and tasty. However, the House Special Lo Mein was 95% noodles and 5% bits of pork, shrimp and veggies. Tasty, but please increase the amount of meats and veggies. Chef's Special Walnut Shrimp was really strange; shrimp, broccoli and sugary walnuts floating in a white sauce the consistency of milk, with an unidentifiable taste. The boneless roast pork ribs were extremely fatty and sugary sweet. Not sure I'd try Wu's again. read more

Years ago, this was my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area but by 2018 the quality of the food had declined and I stopped going. Four years later I decided to try again and was very pleasantly surprised by both the change in appearance and the improvement in quality of food. I had General Tso's and it was very good and a large portion. I can't say when the interior layout changed but if you haven't been here in some time, they now have a nice counter area where you enter the restaurant and have really opened up the floorplan and added a sushi prep area at the front. My wife and I just had our first experience at Wu Garden's in Leola. Our favorite Chinese restaurant had been Tony Wangs for years. But Covid and Tony's failing health ended a long successful run. We've been slowly looking a new "go to" choice. Wu Garden's might be that place. Our Happy Family and Triple Delight meals did not disappoint us. We will go back and try other menu items. Brought in from Wu's Garden tonight and I must say the food was very good. Wonton soup was tasty with a thin dough covering the pork rolled inside. Boneless ribs were cooked to perfection. Shrimp and Lobster sauce was probably one the best I have had in a long time. We also had the pork lo-Mein which also was very good. This is a very good addition to the neighborhood, for both takeout and dine-in, for the following reasons: 1. Large selection of pan-Asian food: The menu includes a very large selection of my favorite Chinese dishes and also two sections of Thai and and Japanese food, including hibachi and teriyaki dishes and Thai curries and Pad Thai. 2. Wonderful people: the waitress who served us is very friendly and kind, and the kitchen was amazing in accommodating our various special requests. 3. Very large portions and good flavors: we ordered three entrees for three people and couldn't eat more than half of the food -- so they packaged the rest in a doggy bag and we were able to get a second meal out of it the next day. What happened Wu's? We ordered $38.95 Worth of take out. Not even a thank you from hostess.. We have been to Wu's numerous times with mixed experiences. In the past I have gotten the White Meat General Tso's the previous time it was extremely tough as if it had been over fried. I chalked it up to a anomaly. So I tried it again, I was terribly wrong this time, it was so unbelievably tough, it was inedible. Mind you they charge extra for the white meat option. On top of that the Lo Mein was also pretty bad, low on flavor and the noodles were very doughy. We had ordered a bunch of different entrees to share and it's clear they are slipping with their quality. What bothers me is that I've gotten much, much, better food at any of the Chinese take out places at Park City Mall's food court. Please fix the White Meat General Tso's. I discovered that this was causing the delay when I called in and received my food SO fast! Upgraded my review to 5 stars. The food is still just as good as previously and now with the speedy delivery it's a go-to for us. Love their food, but SLOOOOOWWWWW!! I've ordered online via their website twice, and both times it has taken OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF to get to my house, and I live 3 minutes away. I would drive there and get it myself if I didn't have a sleeping baby. Both times this has been the instance, and both times I have ordered right when I put my baby down so I have some "quiet time" to eat, and yet he always wakes up before the food gets here! Just discovered a good place for Chinese or Sushi. The plusses: Food is served attractively. Quantities are generous. Menu is very expansive having both a Chinese and Japanese menu. Sushi made fresh, on demand. The negatives: service is slow so if you are looking for a quick meal, this will not be the place. If 1 of you order water as your drink, you will only get the one. You must soecify that you hoth want water and a straw. We got 1 straw between us. I ordered a Shrimp with walnuts in a white sauce and I actually asked if it was supposed to be a cold dish. It was not tepid, it was cold and I had to ask for it to be heated. The rice seems to not be an automatic accompaniment. And first time there, they were out of white rice! Brown was subbed and it was salty and awful. Another huge detriment us the lighting. I swear they could hold police interrogations in this dining room. No less than around 25 recessed lights along with additional lights on the side. I wish they could dim this lighting because it would not only add a touch of ambience. But also, those with an intolerance to very bright lighting will leave with a headache. Speaking of lighting, ironically the outdoor sign above the restaurant is not lit.
