China Moon serves classic Chinese American restaurant -style dishes. You get as much good Chinese food here as you do at some of the more upscale Chinese restaurants around Lanc. Co.(like P F Chang) and the quality is at least as good here if not better than those "white tablecloth places". The biggest problem I USED TO have here was ordering. The lady who takes the orders over the phone can be very hard to understand. But here's the fix: Place your order online. That's the only way I've been ordering for a couple of years now. No misunderstandings, plus you choose your pick up time and she'll have your order ready at your chosen time or darn close to it. This is my go to Chinese place in Ephrata. Another good place over on the east side of Ephrata is the Ephrata Asian Bistro (in the Giant shopping center). They're more set up for eat-ins. Their food is quite good, too. You can eat your food "in" at China Moon but it's much less fancy than the Ephrata Asian Bistro. I never eat "in" at China Moon. I figure the poor lady has enough on her hands with telephone orders, packaging everything up and then payments (except for online orders - you pay when you order), that she doesn't need the extra burden of cleaning up tables. Make sure you call the day before to have your order ready because the 40 minutes (in a empty restaurant no one came in the entire time )I had to wait for an order of fried rice and chicken wings was f,ing ridiculous.... And then it wasn't even good. read more

Called in for picked up. Staff was very nice. Food was hot and ready right when I walked in. If you are looking for great Chinese food this is the place! General Tso's was 10/10. Lancaster has zero quality Chinese food places, but driving 20 mins to China Moon was well worth it! read more

China Moon has the best Chinese food I have ever had. I've had Chinese food from all over the country and to this day still LOVE their food. The staff is always so kind and I have so much respect for them and their small business. They are often busy and I've seen some people complaining about their orders not being correct, but you have to understand that some for some of the staff, English is not their first language and hence might not always understand what you're saying right away. I think they do a beautiful job at keeping their business clean and being efficient. The portion sizes are amazing as well and overall the price is good as well. read more

Husband and myself got away for NYE.. we wanted Chinese for New Years.. and this place popped up on Yelp! My husband is a picky eater and He ordered bourbon chicken he said it was the best bourbon chicken he's had.. even wanted to get some to go back home lol.. I gave it 4 stars because even tho it was a holiday and we were told the wait for pick up would be a hr.. we gave it a hr and went to pick up and still had to wait an extra 25mins.. I'm updating my review. Since this first time ordering we have ordered from China Moon about 6-7 times and each time the food was fabulous! One of our favorite things to order is their subgum wonton soup. It's loaded to the max with meats, seafood and veggies, plus wontons. Yum!! Haven't been disappointed since the first time. Ordered take out from here for the first time. I got the chicken and broccoli combo and my husband got the coconut shrimp. We also got wonton soup and seafood soup. Both meals were pretty good. I could of had more sauce with my chicken and my egg roll was very greasy and honestly I've had better. The wonton soup was great and the seafood soup was more like a really thick sauce. Probably better served over rice and not as a soup. Nothing amazing, but your average/basic Chinese food. The lady was very nice and we'll go back I'm sure. read more

Took a chance after a trip to Sharp Shopper. VERY clean inside. Friendly staff. Asked them to tweak my food to add a little heat and communicating that was no problem. My food came just the way I like it. It was hot, fresh and delicious. We ate in, and found that the "chime" at the front door was a bit startling when other patrons came in, but not enough to lose a star. Highly recommended! read more

NO TRUST. Ordered a CHICKEN and veggie Lo Mein. She handed me my meals at checkout and said two veggie Lo meins. I said no, Chicken and veggie. She said oh yes, a chicken and veggie Lo mein. Got home and found we had two veggie Lo meins. Called China Moon and advised her order was incorrect. She replied no, I made you chicken and veggie. She did not yield and essentially made inference I was lying. She would not even offer and exchange. What else are they doing that is not above board. Beware. read more

My absolute favorite place to get Chinese takeout. Great food, great flavor, the staff is so very nice. I almost didn't want to review it, and keep it secret how great this place is, but the food is incredible. They run a lunch special where you order 4 lunches, and you get a 5th one free, Monday thru Saturday, and it allows you to try a lot of different items. The Lunch menu is actually quite large, when you take into consideration the options contained in each item listing. When this place opened up, I ordered Curry Chicken, which I did not care for, hoping to dismiss this place, since living in Ephrata, it is the farthest away location. I have been here 3 times with my girlfriend and the food was great every time and the people who work there truly work hard. However, the most recent time she came down with food poisoning and hasn't been able to eat for four days. It can happen anywhere I'm sure but I'd like for the word to be out for others great food great service and a great place run by great people just unfortunate that a food poisoning had to ruin such an experience. read more

Some of the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. Portions are generous; food has always been piping hot every time we've ordered take out. I love their "combo soup" - wanton egg drop soup. 3 stars for the very tasty food. Two stars off for their timing and the disappointing proportions of meat to veg in some of their dishes. Be aware that there are only two people running the place. They make great food and work hard, but if you're told 20 minutes around supper time, it'll be more like 35. The spicy chicken for example is about 2/3 veg and 1/3 chicken.
