Funny... I don't note a 'New' before the 'Yang's', do you? Therefore,...
 IT AIN'T NEW!!
    Andrew E.

This past late afternoon, my friend Sue and I went out to 'New' Yang's Chinese here in Columbia, PA on this past date of Wed., 15 June, 2022. The first thing when we walked into this establishment, was the searing heat; the atmosphere was as hot as a Turkish steam bath in Istanbul, in the middl of August. Asinine. Horrible. The owner had the four fans spinning at a medium rate with the front door open, but it did precious little to cool the restaurant down. My friend and I returned there due to the fact that in all fairness, their food is very good. Fresh, hot, and delicious. And the best Wonton soup I have ever had, to boot. Seriously. The Sweet & Sour chicken... EXCELLENT. The best I have ever had. Period. There were a few problems within the establishment though which need badly to be addressed, and which causes me to subtract the missing 3 stars off of her and her husband's review. The first one being... Thr temperature was UNACCEPTABLE. Hotter than a Maccau Parrot's pucker hole in the middle of August, out in the steamy jungle of southeast Asia. Problem #2 was... An obnoxious lengthy piece of wood which was part of the framework which lines the floor separating the main dining room from the hallway to the restrooms, which nearly made me trip on my face. Problem #3... On the way to the restroom, there was a sharp jagged screen which scratched my hand because it was sticking out into the narrow hall. Problem #4... NO napkins on any of the tables, OR plastic wear, NO bowl of noodles, OR sauces. A big no-no. Shoddy performance, a grossly shoddily-kept establishment, and issue #5... When I approached the checkout counter to ask for a takeaway bag, her hubby was staring me down from the back of the restaurant. And that right there is what constitutes an unfriendly, socially retahded attitude. Not acceptable. Rude, and grossly obnoxious. And the next time somebody stares me down in some restaurant--whether it be up here or in NC, they're gonna get themselves told. Period. People need to wise up, and remember their place. Other than those 5 things, the food was to be fair... Absolutely delicious. End of review.

My kids love their honey chicken and I love their Mongolian beef. We get takeout from here about once a month.

We ordered delivery. There was a lot of food for the price. Unfortunately the chicken made both my husband and I sick.

It was pretty busy on Saturday when we went for dinner but we didn't have to wait too long and our food actually came out pretty fast. The service was as expected because it looked like 1 guy was serving all tables and he was literally running between table to table. I don't blame him for any waiting because he was busting his butt and we didn't really need to wait too long. We ordered a variety of dishes coming here but my favorite has to be the Homestyle Tofu or the Fish Filet. I would like to try more dishes next time. They give you quite a good amount of food for the price. Some places charge the same and give you much less. This place has authentic Chinese food with some common favorites that many of us also know (chicken with broccoli, lo mein, general tso's etc.) so there is something for everyone. There are vegetarian dishes available as well. If you're in the area and would like more savory, authentic Chinese food I recommend coming here!

The dry pot fish was probably one of the best I've had in recent memory. For me it was just the right level of mala spicy, without being overpowering. This dish came with rice. The lotus and mixed vegetables (which also came with rice) were also perfectly stir-fried. It included carrots, snap peas, black fungus, and of course lotus. Even my vegetable-skeptic kids liked this dish, especially the lotus root and snap peas. The wonton soup was more run-of-the-mill, but decent. We dined at Yi Pin on Easter Sunday, and the restaurant was very busy. We were able to get seated immediately at a booth, but it took a while for their lean-staffed waiters to bring a menu, water, and take our order. That said, the food did arrive quickly, steaming hot from the kitchen. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip in Lancaster.

I mean it was RANK, just heated up. Took it back to get a refund, which was declined. Lady inside offered to "exchange" our food and, in her own words, "cook it right this time." I told her no repeatedly, we just wanted our money back, we received old food. (Not willing to give the restaurant another chance for obvious reasons.) She refused the refund. We told her to smell the food because just by smelling it was obvious the food was bad. Our sweet and sour sauce had a fermented taste and smell. The rice was old and dry. The BBQ pork was overcooked and chewy, like old gum. The only thing that was RIGHT with our order was the 2-liter Pepsi we got prepackaged. The lady refused to give us a refund and admitted to knowingly serving us old food. Asked if she does this to everyone, she responded, "no, just you." Long story short, I will not be giving my business and money to a restaurant that knowingly serves old and BAD FOOD!!! DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE BECAUSE ONCE YOU BUY IT, IT'S YOURS OLD OR NOT! THEY DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS!

The sign is old and needs freshening as my eyes initially overlooked it among the other stores. When we entered 2 staff were in the adjacent dining room shelling peas. We were directed to a table and ordered unsweet tea. The server brought us a paper cup of ice and a bottle of Gold Peak tea. She asked if my mother and I are sisters, and my mother is 90 so I shrugged that off. She went on to talk to me about being Christian, etc. Another couple came in while we were dining and I think they got a take out order. Otherwise it seemed slow. We chose some fairly traditional Chinese American dishes which came out microwave hot. Soup had a nice broth. The dishes looked just like most small Chinese restaurant food dishes anywhere. The fried rice was a rather tasteless yellow rice with some dried peas. Edible but very unremarkable. I had to go ask for boxes which it turns out our food was served in so she just brought lids, and our server insisted on bagging it for us. I noted we did get actual metal forks but all other items were served in plastic or paper. I tipped her generously and our bill was about $30. I probably will not return unless I am really craving any Chinese food. It was definitely better than chinese from the food store that you microwave, but overall I just wasn't that impressed. However if you are not fussy and just want cheap Chinese takeout I imagine you will be happy enough.

We ordered at the counter and our food came out to the table quickly. DH's hot and sour soup was a large bowl (plastic take out container) and it was chock full of vegetables and tofu. He loved it. My wonton soup was good and had 2 wonton but no roast pork. I missed that. Each came with a baggie of very good crispy fried noodles. I ordered roast pork with vegetables. It was good and plentiful and came with a large portion of fried rice. The veggies were fresh and tasty. I thought it needed more sauce but it was good. DH ordered sweet and sour chicken. It was the star of the meal. Fresh , tender white meat chicken pieces fried to perfection in a very tasty batter. They came with a delicious sweet and sour sauce served in a separate container. Lots of fried rice with the chicken. Only criticism is that the sauce was not warm. We decided to take home another dish to go with our leftovers. We got boneless ribs, one of my favorites. It was very good with a very generous portion of rice and pork in a sweet sauce. The meat was tender but I'd have liked more sauce. We bought the lunch specials and with the specials you can get soup for an additional modest charge. The prices are right. The hot and sour soup and sweet and sour chicken were solid 5s. The roast pork, vegetables and wonton were a 3.5. The boneless ribs were a solid 4. So I averaged all to 4 stars. I think I'd take home rather than eat there. The lady who cooked and served was very nice. I'd go again next time I'm in that end of town.
