A hidden gem in Bellevue! Ginza is a small, family-owned Japanese restaurant with incredibly friendly staff and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We stopped by for lunch on a weekday and were blown away by how delicious everything was. The Tonkatsu was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside -- the shredded cabbage and sauce on the side were the perfect pairing. We also ordered the Sukiyaki, which was packed with flavor and came in a generous portion. The California roll was fresh and satisfying -- you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. Don't skip the hot green tea -- it ties the meal together beautifully. Highly recommend supporting this local spot. You'll leave full and happy!

Tekka don, salmon don, Ginza roll!

Ginza is a TRUE GEM! It's been around for a while, not sure how long. The outside has an old exterior but inside feels like home. It is small but the experienced waitresses and chefs make some of the best Japanese food I've experienced! My sister who was visiting has been here a few years back and has raved about their Japanese bbq. (Sadly, it is not being offered as of June 2025... it could be due to the rising prices and inflation or the amount of labor and cleaning... who knows, I only heard it was not being offered and not sure why...) Their menu is versatile and reasonably priced. From tofu with a thousand year old eggs, to basic and premium sushi rolls and sukiyaki/ teriyaki. They even have salmon and tekka donburis -- my favorites! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. Their signature dish, the pumpkin fried rice is a must try!!! It's served in an actual pumpkin and the fried rice has bits of bacon in it, it's PERFECTION!!

Hotategai and sake nigiri

Came in for a weekday dinner. There's a little parking lot with spots reserved for ginza, which is super convenient. The place was half full so didn't have to wait for a table. Servers were all super nice and attentive. Ambiance inside is cute. The tatami rooms are really cute, but there's only 2, so quite limited. The table seating is casual. As a free appetizer, each person gets a small dish of marinated/pickled cucumber which was a good amount of sweet and savory and refreshing. I ordered the salmon Kama and a scallop nigiri and a salmon nigiri. The salmon came out hot and crispy, but most of the meat was a bit too cooked. Could've had a bit more salt and a bigger chunk of lemon to juice. I ended up having to dip my salmon into soy sauce for more flavor. The nigiri were yummy. They came pre-wasabi'd, but unevenly so haha. The salmon ones came with a teeny tiny bit of wasabi (perfect for me) but the scallop ones came with a way more wasabi (overpowering for me). Some consistency issues with the wasabi, but the fish itself was tender and fresh. Overall, very solid Japanese place. I love the vast menu of specials, would maybe come back and try other dishes

I tried a bunch of items from this restaurant, and I like the raw fish and sashimi, but I'm not a fan of any of those hot dishes but you were either stirfried or fried My favorite was the sea urchin sashimi, and the scallop sashimi Salmon teriyaki was a little fishy for me, and the tofu was not cooked in a Japanese way that I'm used to (not as flavorful or soft As I would expect, although that Yuzu dressing by itself was nice) The store has a really down to earth moms and pops store vibe and we spent quite some money here but I am on the fence about whether I want to come back maybe just to get the sashimi because those are very fresh and high-quality

Pros: friendly, welcoming, food is good quality and authentic, reasonably priced for Bellevue. Cons: parking can be tricky given its location, carpet flooring (well, this is just my pet peeves, I don't believe one can clean the carpeted floor as well as non-carpeted ones)

Always a great experience here. Even when the restaurant is packed, the service is quick and efficient. The atmosphere is lively, especially during dinner hours. The pumpkin fried rice is a must-order every single time.

We reserved for a large part the night before and got a private room with tatami style seating. Really liked the ambiance and the waitress was very sweet and accommodating. I ordered the chicken katsu it came out very fast but it was just okay. Their star dish is definitely the pumpkin fried rice, I would recommend ordering that!

Sashimi and tempura combination box.

Yes, yes, yes! Fantastic quality food and at a reasonable price point. Establishment - plenty of tables and private rooms for larger parties that allow for more traditional seating (sitting on cushions with a low table). It doesn't give off a fancy or dressy atmosphere, but it also doesn't have a 'hole-in-the-wall' feeling to it either; very casual and quite comfy. To note, parking can be a bit tricky depending on when you go. I was able to find street parking but be aware of the signs in the parking lot of the restaurant as there's only a handful that are reserved for Ginza customers. Service - wait staff has always been very friendly every time I've visited. They never make you feel rushed and are always patient with answering questions about items on the menu or the daily specials. Overall quick and attentive. Also love the cucumber salad they serve you once you're seated; curves my hunger a bit every time. Food! I always get the combination dinner because I like having a variety of items in my meal. The most recent order I had was the sashimi and tempura combination dinner. The tempura is ne very soggy and was piping hot when I got my food, while the sashimi tasted fresh and the pieces were generously sized. I do wish there was more veg sitting in the little dish, but I really can't complain. My order also came with miso soup. My friend ordered a soup udon - I didn't try it, but it looked good enough to make me think that I'll order that next time I go.

Best choice for casual dining! Good quality fresh fish and hot dishes. Pickled cucumbers are complementary as well as Individual small dish of fruit. Any Kama (Collar) is juicy. Tuna Collar is off the menu but is occasionally available. Pumpkin fried rice is delicious! Rolls are good sizes. They have 2 rooms behind screen slider doors you sit down on the floor and take off shoes but your feet still sit like in a regular booth, no need to go on your knees for a few hours. Call to make group reservations in the private rooms that can only be 1.5 hours at set start times with a min spending amount.

Rainbow roll and spider roll

This is one of many restaurants that is located near the Downtown Bellevue Park, which means the entire area's parking is quite rough getting around, whether you decide to park on the streets, at the park or in the very small parking lot that this place shares with a nearby antique store. Nevertheless, I loved my experience here with my group of four! There is ample seating inside, with at least two tatami rooms nearby and an area that looks like a sushi bar. Place is somewhat cramped but relatively clean, and my group of four didn't have to wait to be seated at around 6:30pm on a Friday night. I would come here before 7:30 or 8pm as a line can form for here, and for good reason! We got a variety of sushi dishes, including the mega rainbow roll, the dragon roll and the spider roll. For a main dish, I got the chicken katsu dinner. Every roll was extremely tasty in their own way, and my favorite ended up being the mega rainbow roll because of the variety of fish and seafood that was put on top of each roll. The sushi sizes were very big too, which I loved a lot! Chicken Katsu was a little dry but that didn't affect my dish. One of my friends got the chicken teriyaki dinner, and he felt the chicken was pretty dry. When I tasted it myself, I had the same thought. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and would love to try their other choices of sushi when I'm back around the area!

Tiger tail roll & something else I forgot

My second visit! We ordered too much and had the American dream roll, ginza plate with spicy tuna, pumpkin fried rice, and the miso soup. Ginza Plate with spicy tuna: I didn't like the assorted nigiri because some of the fish tasted slimy. The unagi nigiri was my favorite. The spicy tuna roll was decent and I liked that much more than the nigiris. Miso soup: the tofu pieces are much bigger than I'm used to. Solid. Pumpkin fried rice: my favorite dish of the night, I would get this again. It tastes exactly how it sounds and I liked the crispier rice in it. American dream roll: it tasted fine, my friend like it! Overall, I had a good experience and will be back to order the pumpkin fried rice and to try something new!

Pumpkin rice is worth checking out. I recommend to a lot of friends and they love it. The lunch special menu is also very good. The parking can be a little challenging sometimes.

Teriyaki Steak

After the Kraken game me & my buddy decided sushi was on the menu for dinner tonight. So we drove to his favorite place GINZA. We arrived at this boutique looking building where we parked. Since he called in for Reservations on the way we were greeted and shuffled to the sushi counter right away with zero wait. Now since my buddy was a regular we were greeted with smiles & high fives from the gentlemen with sushi bladed behind the counter. At this point the knifes began carving and sushi began to flow instantly. As the sushi hit our plates some to my enjoyment but 100% to his. My order consisted of ordering a few pieces of tako ( octopus ) and a CRUNCH roll plus teriyaki steak. All to my delight I chowed down with a big smile. My friend ate some sushi i'd never consider shoving into my mouth but he loved it. A most enjoyable experience and I'd dine again without hesitation. I hope you show up & show out soon.

Here's the scenario. I'm recovering from surgery and have major dietary restrictions (liquids only), so I think, okay, I want to have a meal with friends and not have it be awkward so let's go to a soup place. I asked for just broth and was informed that they could do that but I'd have to pay the full price for a bowl of ramen. "Okay," I say, "fine, can you please just bring broth?" Yes. What I got was a bowl of ramen with noodles and the toppings on the side. I sent it back saying I couldn't have the noodles and could I please have what I ordered, which was just broth? Sure. So they bring back the bowl less than half full of broth with noodles on the side. Argh. At this point it was getting embarrassing for me so I just dealt with it and spent the meal pissed off that I was paying full price AND the staff were anti customer service. Beware. Unless you're ordering exactly off the menu and have no special requests, STEER CLEAR of Hokkaido Ramen Santoku.

I don't remember what I ate at the time but I do remember Kizuki having pretty salty ramen, and that still holds up today. I know there is an option to order low sodium and/or order a clear broth to dilute it, but I completely forgot. I got the garlic tonkotsu ramen and it was super good! I can see why it's super popular. I will say I wasn't a fan of the jasmine milk tea, it was way too sweet while simultaneously too milky- otherwise everything was fine. The waiters were polite and lenient with my preferences and gave excellent service, no complaints there. I came in on a Tuesday or Wednesday at 2:00 ish by myself, so it wasn't crowded. I can't say for weekends but judging by other reviews the waitlist can take a while (not sure if it's different if you come on a weekend but by yourself). There were some people there hanging out over ramen and some people working on their laptops, so it was the perfect environment to get work done (not sure if wifi is free though) and/or chat with friends without having to raise your voice. Overall I rate four stars; good food, good service, and an okay drink. I packed up the broth for home and mixed the leftover with instant ramen, it was delicious!

Everything was fantastic except my friend left a special present that she received from me behind accidentally. Update: we called staff and with great thoroughness they even checked and confirmed that we had actually left with the gift box, and with that we were able to confirm that we would have left it at the next venue we went to for dessert. With relief we found it and grateful to Alan for reaching out and letting us know so we could continue our search more fruitfully. Such an excellent experience with the staff at this store. The broth wasn't very salty or over complicated itself with a burst of spices, but highlighted the simplicity of a good ramen, tasting the long simmer of the pork.
