    Risotto Di Amore

Made a reservation last minute. I was pleasantly surprised they had space on Mother's day. Arrived 15mins early for our 6:15 reservation and checked in and waited outside. The inside waiting area was packed. We got seated early and got bread and water. The busser made sure we always had enough water. It took a really long time before a server arrived. We ordered drinks. I noticed the server was also making drinks. A couple sat at the bar and then ordered. They got their drinks. We waited and waited. When our drinks arrived (6:40) we ordered an appetizer "Lox". The drinks were so good. Our appetizer again took a little while to arrive (6:57) but it was delicious. We ordered diner when the appetizer arrived. For diner we ordered Risotti Di Amore and the Short Rib. Diner arrived faster(7:14) and was absolutely delicious. The server again took some time to come to our table. We wanted creme brulee for desert but they were out. We had the butter cake(7:57) it was yummy. We also had the Lemon curd dome, it was ok. We paid 249.79 (which included a 20% large party gratuity in hindsight: 1. There was only 2 of us. 2. It wasn't previously stated, is this normal here?) I really wanted to rate them higher because the food was really good but the service just wasn't .

We celebrated our anniversary dinner here last month. This restaurant is right next to the beach /waterfront, which shares a parking lot with the beach goers. Unfortunately, we did not know this so finding parking was a bit of a headache. The staff was very kind when I called them explaining we are running late since we couldn't find parking. Once inside we were promptly seated at our table. The inside is small, romantic and has some views of the water. The food we ordered was delicious. Although it was a busy weekend evening the food came out quickly. The drinks and desserts were also very tasty. I would recommend this place just be mindful of the parking!

We made reservations for 6pm but got there earlier for happy hour. Parking was easy. We had two drinks at the bar then moved to our table (great water view). My wife chose this place for my birthday dinner. Don't expect anything special after being asked what you're celebrating. I got a candle I couldn't blow out and a happy birthday only after we ordered dessert. I'm not sure there would have been any sort of celebration had we not purchased dessert. Felt strange. Outside of that underwhelming and honestly unnecessary exchange we enjoyed the experience. We ordered a second cocktail, Avacado Relleno (a special), salmon Alfredo, and bone in T-bone steak. Definitely hats off to the chef. We enjoyed every bite of our entrees. Our server, Bella, was super sweet and was the only one working but did not miss a beat. To circle back dessert was not tasty and I should have passed on it. It's probably was the only thing I didn't enjoy. My wife had hers to-go and didn't enjoy it either. Could just be preference of texture and flavors. My butter cake seemed more like a biscuit and was bitter. Overall I'd come again for the dinner menu and specials. The ambiance is also really romantic.

Wow! What an amazing dinner my family and I had here at Gino's!!! I cannot say enough incredible things about the food and the owner, Gino himself along with his two beautiful Daughters! His daughter Alexis was our waitress and she took excellent care of us. The food tasted phenomenal and each dish was truely crafted and cooked with love. We ordered the Calamari which was very crispy yet tender, oysters that were grilled to perfection and were very fresh! The beet salad was beautifully executed with a tasty dressing. The Brie cheese served with crostini melted in your mouth and was paired beautifully with a fig preserve, candied walnuts and a honey basalmic drizzle! We all ordered around the menu for our entrees. The scallops were truely pan seared to perfection! The halibut was a generous and thick cut yet it was also cooked all the way through while remaining juicy. The tenderloin Medallions with a Demi glaze.. wow! The Demi glaze was such a nice pairing with the steak itself which by the way was very tender and cooked to a perfection Medium rare. It truely also melted in your mouth! The raviolis were all cooked all dente and each sauce really was knocked out of the ball park. We all finished off with one of each desserts which were all 10/10. Thanks Alexis and Gino for the amazing experience I am so happy we got the pleasure to dine at your beautiful Family owned restaurant. We will be back!

Delicious special last night - Papillote King salmon and spinach salad. Pleasant and attentive service by Espy. Previous visit was the first time; flatbread was wonderful. Nice chatting with Naya then.

Food was good but the service was horrendous. We got sat 20-40 minutes past our reservation and it was not busy. The waitress acted annoyed the entire time, didn't ask to get us a second round of drinks and barely checked on us. There were fruit flies every where and even the table next to us were clapping to try to kill the bugs. Parking is annoying too.

This restaurant has excellent food and amazing service! I really love how intimate it is inside, but also appreciate that they have outdoor seating as well. I wish I had more pictures to provide, but I am too busy stuffing my face! We always start with the wicked prawns! Huge prawns served with a flavorful and slightly spicy tomato sauce and bread. This last time around, I got the ribeye (again) and my husband got the twin tenderloin. Now I am a ribeye girl through and through, but these filets.... WOW! I kept saying how I have never had a filet with such amazing flavor and texture! I get my ribeye rare and he got his medium rare. Excellent cook on both steaks. We let our waitress know that these meals were better than what we've had at some of our favorite steak houses! In all, I am never disappointed and will always come back to Gino's!

Great service. Great food. Quiet and beautiful views. Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Worth the price.

First timer! I came here for my birthday & it definitely did not disappoint. Loved how cozy it felt inside. We had reservations, so not quite sure how long the wait would be without it. Food was so so good as so were the cocktails! Ohh they also had a sparkler lit up for me! Guessing it's their birthday surprise for guests, lovely touch! Plenty of parking as well! Will definitely be back!

    Seafood risotto

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING!! - After reading the reviews and before coming to the restaurant, I had very high expectations. Of course I expected the pricing to be a little bit high but in return I also expected the ambience and the food to be spectacular as it should be if you're going to pay over $50 per dish. There was complementary bread which was nice and which is expected to get at any decent Italian restaurant. Although a negative to the bread, it was that it was very thick and doughy. It didn't seem like it was toasted nicely at all and when eating it, I felt as if the bread was soaked in water before hand, which was very weird. The service was OK. They didn't offer us any refills on the bread and they only gave us a tiny dish of balsamic vinegar with olive oil which came with the bread. So I had to repeatedly ask for them to bring us more, which was kind of annoying. But the worst thing was that after paying a fairly large amount for the food ( over $130 ) the risotto that I ordered was practically just rice in some seafood soup. It was not risotto at all, and the soup itself just tasted like some buttery broth. We also ordered an espresso martini which when the waitress brought it to us, the glass was very sticky and the waitress spilled a little bit on our table, which was also a negative because you pay $18 for it. And the waitress didn't even apologize or care. My girlfriend ordered the pasta with eggplant. The pasta was definitely store-bought. It did not taste fresh at all and was not al dente so spending $54 for her dish and $56 for my risotto and $18 for the drink was 100% not worth it . So overall, the service was mid at best and the food was OK . This place definitely has some work to be done. I hope they take this review seriously because we will definitely not be coming back.

Is this near where Salty's is/was?

No it's not. It's located adjacent to Dash Point Park. Salty's was located on Redondo Beach.

Is this place worth the cost?

Pasty of the cost is the fact that it is waterfront dining. That will always come at a premium. That said, the food is absolutely delicious and my wife and I just ate there for the third time on Friday. I realize you posed your question last year,… Read more

The wife would be at one bazaar and her husband would be at another location... so cute! Their spices are dried and packed with punch! My favourites are: garlic sesame; creamy galic; wasabi - packed with lots of garlic is how I like it! It is great for making easy party dips and lovely to put on meats or sauces for baking. A very nice gift idea too for those friends who love to cook =D Interestly, while visiting Puyallup Farmers Market this past weekend, I came upon their booth! We did find seating and there is seating in the restaurant portion, as well as down the stairs. It's a cute little place in the heart of pike place. We got the lasagna casalinga, from the farm, and from the sea pastas. Lasagna casalinga: I love lasagna but I've never had a white sauce lasagna before. I really loved this and I loved it a lot more than I expected. It has peas, sausage, and mushrooms, made with in house bechamel sauce. I thought this might feel super heavy and rich since it was a cream sauce but it wasn't! It was creamy without the feeling of being "too much" when eating it! That's always my worry whenever I eat cream pastas or sauces, that I can only eat a few bites and then feel full bc it the richness. The mushrooms, pea, and sausage worked so nicely into the flavoring of the lasagna and the sausage was flavorful and seasoned well. I believe it's a pork sausage which in my option always tastes great. From the farm: this was my absolute favorite! I always lean towards ragu or bolognese sauce, it's my favorite dish because the flavors become so pronounced during the cooking process. This was a bison ragu with perfectly al dente rigatoni. The bison wasn't gamey and pair so nicely with the ragu because it was able to get in all the crevices of the pasta. We opted for burrata as a topping which gave a really nice creaminess From the sea: this was a spaghetti with rockfish, pea vines, leeks, and harissa. The pasta felt a little Asian inspired, in Chinese cooking we steam whole rockfish and pea vines are a very common veggie dish, so I loved that the elements made me think of my culture. The harissa also gave it a spicy kick which was reminiscent of having chili oil or chili paste on the side at dimsum. While I loved the flavors of this it wasn't my favorite because it was a bit too light. I really wished the flavors were bolder and more pronounced. Rockfish/white fish is very mild fish so the taste is very dependent on the flavors you add to it. However if you like light flavors and fish that isn't too fishy, this is great! This is a really fresh dish so even though it wasn't my favorite doesn't mean it's not a great pasta! I can't wait to come back to try the next rotation of pastas!

There weren't a lot of people that day, we had the whole place to ourselves. The guy who took our order had so much patience to explain each pasta. I got the from the sea and my husband got Pomodoro. I really liked my husband's pasta and it was so fresh! It cooked al dente and the pasta sauce seasoned so perfectly. My husband never a huge fan of al dente and he loved this place so much! He still talking about this place and won't stop talking about it. Mine of the other hand was okay; the taste is kinda odd to me, and it's kinda too salty for my liking. The fish were so small, like tiny pieces, I wish its bigger. My personal favorite of my dish is the Al dente part and the pea vine. Other than that mine was meh. The whole place is sooo cute and definitely a cute date spot!!!

When you enter the restaurant, the kiosk is front and center, and you place your order on the touch screens. There are typically 4 types of pasta to choose from, and about 4 sauces. There are salads and sides that you can add to the pasta. I love burrata, and so that was my add-on. The kitchen is always in full swing, with lots of activity, and is open to the public for viewing as they prepare meals. When your meal/order is ready, your name appears on the screen, and one of the employees calls your name. Seating is available after you place your order, and water is self-service as well. I love the cost-reducing atmosphere of the place. The place is well lit, and the staff is pleasant and helpful. I had pesto sauce with spaghetti and a salad. The pasta was supposed to be al dente, but came to the table cold, with a bit of a crunch and a sticky-to-the-tooth texture. This really did take away from the meal. The burrata was okay, but it seemed to be better prepared when they first opened. Again, this is a place I have come to look forward to, and I enjoyed the previous menu. Also, the website menu does not match the in-store menu at all. Because I love the neighborhood vibe of the place and the no-nonsense model they use, I have to go back to see if they can recapture what got my attention when they first opened. My only advice is to prepare the pasta as advertised.

Best Fresh Pasta…read more This review is based on the products-- we've been going to the farmer's market and always find ourselves visiting the La Pasta stand every time. The ladies at the stand are always very friendly and helpful in their suggestions (such as which type of sauce to pair with the pasta, or the flavor of the pasta or ravioli filling). Thus far, we've gotten the egg bucatini, the red pepper bucatini, the seasonal gnocchi, and the dreamy garlic spread. Generally, I'm not a big fan of fresh pasta, because many times, I feel it gets too mushy (or perhaps it is the quality of the pasta). La Pasta fresh pasta has never been mushy; it has that imperative al dente bite-- a clear sign of good quality pasta. The gnocchi is flavorful and pairs well with the dreamy garlic spread. Looking forward to trying the pumpkin ravioli later in the week. The price is comparable to the fresh pasta you would find at a specialty store, like Whole Foods, Metropolitan Market, or PCC Markets-- however, La Pasta's quality is far superior. La Pasta products are worth the price. We look forward to trying any new products, as well as upcoming seasonals. We also hope that they may have a brick and mortar store in the future on the Eastside for the farmer's market offseason.
