The menu is basic items you can find at most places in the area. We ordered fish and chips, and fish tacos from the walk up window. The only seating for the cafe is outside, however they also have a small coffee shop next door with indoor seating. Overall, the food was just mediocre. We have had these menu items at other places nearby, so we felt like we were able to make a good comparison. The fish in the fish and chips order was heavily breaded and over fried to the point that the breading was hard. Fries were average. My fish tacos had small pieces of fish that were heavily breaded and overly-fried. Large pieces of cabbage were scattered over them, and some sort of green sauce drizzled on the top. Not much taste. The tortillas were soft with good flavor. The venue is lovely, as is the gift shop and coffee shop, bathroom clean. I'd go back to the coffee and gift shop, but would pass on another meal from the cafe.

Lots of types of oysters, good news if you a fan. I am not:) Instead, I had the Summer Harvest Salad, both nights! The first night, it consisted of several types of greens, seasonal veggies, goat cheese (left mine off), sliced strawberries, and spiced toasted pepitas. Their vinaigrette was awesome - the first night it came dressed already and was a bit heavy handed. Second night I ordered it on the side, and it was perfect. Had the same salad the second night, this time with sliced apples, and a side of blackened chicken. Yummy! My friend had the bowl of clam chowder and side of seasonal veggies (that night it was broccolini), and both tasted great. He had a caesar salad which had large leaves of romaine and great croutons. All greet you warmly as you enter and leave their delightful restaurant. But the food--wow!! Best crab cakes ever--perfectly crispy on the outside, with moist, succulent flesh and an exceptional remoulade that complements beautifully. Scallops were likewise superb. The pasta was out of this world with the rock shrimp and veggies, and such savory umami! The salmon was seared on the outside and tender and flavorful. Fish stew had a sublimely subtle fennel broth with clams, salmon and potatoes. We had to sop up the broth at the end. Desserts did not disappoint--and just as with food temperature, this is not a given. The chocolate cake was super solid. And then we tasted the 100% perfect passion fruit cheesecake. When we first arrived, the vibes were a bit stand-offish. Although it was a busy evening, no one bothered to pay us a glance or check in. Eventually, the waitress that had been closest in proximity to us had told another waiter to attend to us. I had noticed that throughout the night, whenever someone would walk in, that same waitress would openly and happily greet them which I found a bit odd/interesting. For food, my husband and I ordered to share: Mediterranean fish stew, homemade campanelle pasta, side of their sourdough bread, and the Akaushi American Wagyu Strip Steak. This ended up being the perfect amount of food for us; I can't imagine ordering any less, as portions are a bit small here. Additionally, this is the first restaurant we've been to where they actually divide the plates into 2 even servings for you, which was thoughtful. My least favorite dish of the night was their steak -- mine seemed to have required a touch of salt whereas I tasted my husband's and his was fine, even though they were supposed to be from the same strip. Uneven seasoning dispersement? The other 2 entrees were perfectly seasoned. Overall, I'd come back again for dinner but do wish service was more balanced. We had no issues with our own server though. It's a cozy and charming restaurant for dinner at Bodega Bay.

We stumbled upon Ginochio's Kitchen on a whim, and we are SO happy we did! We got there at 11:00 on the dot, absolutely starving and hoping to grab some breakfast. Even though they technically stop serving breakfast at 11, they were kind enough to accommodate us and let us place a breakfast order. That alone earned major points with us! I ordered the Bacon Burrito with potatoes added, and OH MY GOODNESS. It was incredible! The value for the amount of food you get is fantastic. This burrito was absolutely MASSIVE, I honestly didn't even know they made tortillas that big! And the description wasn't kidding when it said it was "loaded with bacon." There was bacon in every bite! Everything was perfectly seasoned and packed with incredible flavor. My husband got the Brisket Burrito, and he loved every bit of his as well. On top of the amazing food, the location is gorgeous, right in front of the water. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the best part for us, it's dog friendly! Now that we know about this little gem, we'll definitely be back every time we're in the area. Great food, great portions, beautiful location, and friendly service. Firm, succulent and delicious; bathed in a light mignonette and tarragon. Perfect! For my main course I had the Summer Vegetable Pasta. It was equally delicious. The pasta was fresh, al dente and bite size. All of the accompaniments, including artichoke pieces, were spot on and blended perfectly for an excellent meal. I was quite satisfied. The next evening I started with the Smoked Rock Cod Rillettes which came on two crostini and made similar to a tuna fish spread. Quite tasty this local fish was a great way to start the meal. After I chose to have the Pork Tenderloin. It was so tasty, moist and delicious. I had it medium rare and that was just right for me. The sauce with it was a great addition, plus the pickled apple, greens and bacon. YUM! Both truly delicious, enjoyable meals. Having a glass of wine for both dinners was just right and they have a nice selection. As for the bar the mixologist bartender was right on his game. I had a Manhattan on the rocks. It was so smooth and just the right mix. Ed had a Bourbon Sour and was quite content. I would gladly eat here again. It is a bit pricey but the value was definitely there.

So probably about four years ago I got to sample this amazing chowder at the North Coast wine event…read morein Santa Rosa. I was blown away, and I never forgot about it.. Now that we're on the Sonoma coast quite often I wasn't quite ready for a sit down, so I decided to take the chowder to go. According to the hostess, the bar staff would take my to go order. So I probably sat at the bar for I want to think about five minutes before I was even acknowledged that's very disappointing. it really gives you a dismissive feeling when other guests are being intended. I'm not talking about a large group 4 down to two people, and I honestly felt ignored. Any way I waited patiently and was finally asked if I could be helped so I said yeah I wanna place it to go order. I'm kind of driving down the road and I just wanna take it to go. That was no problem. I wandered around the property, which is really lovely while I waited for my chowder. My receipt came to approximately $37 for my to go order of only two servings of chowder. I served it that evening, along with a salad and some filet mignon in the comfort of our own accommodations. While the flavor was whatever I remembered, it was a great flavor. It's rich and it's definitely comfort food. However, the potatoes were all raw basically uncooked not at all what I would expect for a seafood chowder. While the potatoes should be not mushy, these were just nearly raw. After the anticipation of looking forward to enjoying and sharing this dish, I feel pretty disappointed. So I can cross this one off my foodie bucket list. Been there done that was just OK. #coastkitchen
