The place was semi empty but the decor was beautiful very traditional Asian designs and art work. The staff and family that runs this business are very kind and knowledgeable. They offer many types of Asian dishes. (Japanese, Thai not just Chinese) Other than the surprise mushrooms (just not a fan personally so I took them out) it was delicious! It's been 10 years since I left lancaster and havent had this place, but coming back reminded me of the good old days of running around Manor shopping center after a movie and having a good dinner. I placed an order that was supposed to be ready by 11:25. When I arrived, I was told it would be another 5 minutes, which I was fine with. The problem was that several people who came in after me got their food before I did. I asked again since I had to get back to work, and was told "just 2 more minutes," but my order didn't come out until 11:40. When they finally gave me the food, I went to my car, only for one of the employees to run up, pull on my door handle, and tell me it was the wrong order. At that point, I had to ask for a refund because I couldn't wait any longer. The whole experience was frustrating and very unprofessional. Mistakes happen, but the way it was handled left me really disappointed, especially since I was on my lunch break. read more

Been coming here for years but the past few months the lady who takes the phone orders has become quite rude. She insists that I cannot order house duck sauce with my crispy noodles yet the guy who takes the order always lets me so it's clearly doable. It's something they make and hand out to the tables when you dine in so It can't be that hard to put some in a container to go (as they have many times for me). I pay for the crispy noodles in my takeout order as expected. Why can't they just charge a fee for the house duck sauce like they do for everything else? Nonetheless, anytime I call, this becomes a small argument over SAUCE. I'm directed to get the packets which taste completely different and are awful. Today I got the guy on the phone and was excited to get my sauce without an argument. Well... no sauce... just packets. My crispy noodles and egg rolls were dry without them. It honestly just blows my mind that they hold this sauce hostage for takeout orders. I'll be looking for a new Chinese restaurant in the area that doesn't make this a huge deal and is nicer to their patrons. read more

When I lived in Lancaster at the Lancaster Green apartments down the road I would order Ginmiya all the time. It was not only close it was delicious. I love the staff there too, always so friendly to me. What I loved most was being able to sit down and eat, I still remember how accommodating they were when I was on a date and was anxiously trying to get some food before a movie showing. We sat down for dinner and It was cutting it close to when we needed to see the movie and they willingly expedited our meal just so we could eat and make it to our movie date. Ever since I have truly loved this place. I have tried the entree Chinese food dishes and the sushi. I have no complaints everything tasted great and my favorite was the steamed chicken and vegetables with brown sauce. Just recently I was out in the area of Lancaster (I came out of my way to come here too) and ordered takeout Chinese food from them over the phone when I was about 15 mins away. When we got there we had to wait in line outside the establishment, but the food we received was as good as usual. I again have no complaints. Hope to be back to normal life soon to be able to eat inside the restaurant again. read more

Food is pretty good. I am picky with Asian food, and the food here is very favorable. The seafood Udon is full of delicious shrimps, veggies, scallops, and udons. The soup is delicious. The Singapore mei fun has perfect curry seasoning. The Hunan Chicken and sushi roll are also delicious. Highly recommended! read more

Not even gonna lie.....they have THE BEST lo mein out of every other Asian restaurant in the area that I've been to. The ingredients are very high quality. I prefer lots of veggies in mine which they provide, and typically get beef and the beef is sooo good and tender but yet still meaty. The noodles slightly are thicker than average , which I can appreciate. Aside from the amazing lo mein ,They also have really good bento boxes , sushi, and I love the chicken yakatori. We came here thinking of getting Japanese food but this is actually more of a Chinese restaurant with Japanese options. The place itself is pretty spacious and there is plenty of parking. It's also BYOY which is always a plus. The service was great as they were short staffed but very attentive to everyone. We ordered sushi (the bridge), lo mein for the kids, and some sushi rice box. The sushi was okay, it wasn't great quality but it was okay. But honestly, you cant beat the price for what you get in terms of sushi. The lo mein was good and the kids enjoyed it. read more

I have not been to Ginmiya in several years due to a bad customer service experience in the past but today, being in the area, stopped in for lunch. Upon entrance I was quickly seated. Water was promptly served and my order was taken shortly thereafter. Kung Pao Chicken with Vegetable Fried Rice, and I asked for "extra spicy" as I always do. The lunch special also included choice of soup or egg roll; I chose Hot and Sour Soup. The Hot and Sour Soup was decent, slightly above average. The Kung Pao Chicken was chock full of celery, mushrooms and peanuts and actually spicy, to my liking. The portion was filling and at $6.40 it is a great value. I saw another patron being served the tempura lunch and it looked very appetizing-a mound of vegatables and shrimp served with dipping sauce and white rice. Today's experience greatly surpassed what I experienced a few years ago. I will return to try the tempura I saw today. read more

If I would've written my review after my first experience, I would've given it four stars. The Gen Tso tofu is done almost perfectly. Slightly crispy, with perfect broccoli and fresh carrots. It's a bit pricey, but almost worth it. Almost... My mistake was trying the Szechuan tofu. It was gelatinous goo with rubbery tofu chunks mixed in with frozen bagged vegetables (could've been canned). Truly the worst tofu dish I've ever had. I couldn't believe how different this dish was compared to the other. Did they forget how to cook after making the first? What is going on here? read more

We ordered takeout and waited to go in until I received a message that the order was ready. You have to stand in an enclosed entryway where they open a sliding window to pick up. It was stifling hot there with absolutely no ventilation. It took at least 10 minutes to pick up as there was only one girl inside who kept answering the phone while our order sat and got cold. The food was mediocre. I got an appetizer platter that had fried shrimp and threw them away. They were tasteless and rolled in a strange coating. I only come here if I'm in the area for something. I always get the Boneless Ribs and some Fried Rice. This time it was in a Lunch Special so my meal was less than $10. Pretty sweet. If I got a yearning for the general tso's or the dragon Phoenix ( which adds lobster to the tso's), I come here. Conveniently located by regal and the liquor store, to create the trifecta of depression cures, this place competes with the best Chinese in lancaster. The sushi rolls ain't bad either. Came here Friday night with my boyfriend to get my sushi fix... great selection & very affordable! We shared a selection of five different rolls, the spicy tuna was the best I've had in the area. Our meal was finished off with fortune cookies & cinnamon iced tea that was AMAZING. We are still actually talking about that tea, three days later. I've visited Ginmiya many time and have always had a good meal and fun experience. Friendly help, decent prices, and great food. I actually convinced my son to try a little sushi here for the first time, and he loved it. I tend to sit at a table rather than at the sushi bar, but I've done both. As we usually byob, it's a bit easier at the table. Pros: easy free parking, great carry out service, clean well maintained environment, friendly competent service.
