We came here during Valentine's Day. It didn't look so busy. But we were wrong. They we super busy in the kitchen and it was very understandable. The staff was super friendly and tried so hard to make sure the my gave you quick and friendly service. The food was great and the portion was huge. I love the face that you can eat a whole meal and walk over and try some gelato!!! That was my selling point to try this place. The shrimp spring roll was tasty. We love Thai and were in the shopping center so decided to try. The reviews were mixed. It we were opened minded. We ordered our lunches and I would say overall was just so-so. We have eaten at other Thai places in the area that are much better. I had broccoli beef and have had better at Panda Express. My husband had Pad and it Didn't have much flavor. Service was meh. I ordered the beef and meatball pho as well as the crab rangoon. I was VERY pleased with the pho. Great portion size, phenomenal flavor and very fresh. It was delivered to me via Door Dash and it was still quite hot. I give this dish five stars all day. Superb pho. The rangoon was good. Good flavor, a lot of crab meat and not all cream cheese and it was chunky crab. I like that. Sweet chili sauce was a bit lackluster compared to the rest of the meal, and the rangoon itself was only warm (not the restaurants fault, again, I ordered via Door Dash). I will try this again in the restaurant and I'm sure it will be just as great as I believe it is. Four and a half stars for this dish, losing half a star for the only okay sweet chili sauce. Overall, I loved it and I will dine here regularly. A very pleasant experience to get my pho fix. Minus one star because I've had pho just as tasty and just as big of a portion for a better price. $15 is a bit steep for one meal. If it were in the $10-$11 price range I'd give Ginger Thai five stars. read more

The staff was amazing they were prepared to help me with vegan and non-vegan options. They also had available substitutions as needed. My order was taken which was fried rice and chicken soup. I liked the pho very much and will describe it in detail but I will also describe some of the other interesting aspects of the bistro. When I walked in, I was a bit confused because there was a menu board and a counter with gelato. There was a big selection of various coffees and teas on the board. I could not find a dinner menu. The lady behind the counter seated me and I grabbed the menu that was on the counter. Pho is Vietnamese and it was a nice surprise to see it on the menu, so I bypassed the seemingly standard Thai curries. Besides, I have not had Pho in a while and have seen many offerings in Murfreesboro. It was time to do some research and begin comparing them. Oxtail broth is what drew me to choose the Pho Beef and Meatball. The idea of meatballs in Pho sealed the deal and I ordered it up. I'm no expert in what the ideal Pho broth should be. I've seen on TV that it typically takes 18 hours to properly make it. So, I researched Pho in the cookbook, "Pleasures of the Vietnamese Table" by Mai Pham. The book identified differences in the broth and noodles. Two types of broth exist in Vietnam, a dark rich broth in some parts and a thinner, clear broth from around Hanoi. US Pho tends to be the darker type. Noodles can be clear, or again depending on what part of Vietnam you are in, can be the heartier white version. Something tells me that if you got a chef from near Saigon and one from Hanoi, they would argue about the ideal. So with that, I will describe what I ate. I liked it. The flavors were layered nicely. Even though it was an oxtail broth, it was clear but quite flavorful. The taste of the oxtail was quite evident and tasty. The best think about the broth is that it was not salty. These noodles were the more hearty, solid white. They definitely had texture and were more filling than the clear noodles. While it is a cultural cross description, I would call the noodles "al dente". The meatballs were different from what I am used to. They were a very fine grind and of a texture like a very dense knockwurst, but flavored with Asian seasonings. The slices of beef were simply too dry and hard to chew. All the other ingredients were layered nicely and tasted great. A good job. read more

The interior of the place is beautiful. It's a huge open space, colorful walls. The food wasn't bad but definitely not what I expected on one dish. The spring roll was perfect, everything inside was nice ration of fresh veggies to the rice noodles and lettuce. The rice wrapper wasn't old it was fresh. I love that it also included cilantro. It was nice to see that in there. I ordered the drunken noodles, this is the dish that was dissatisfying. I've ate drunken noodles all over town before and it's practically my all time favorite dish. I even make it at home. The noodles was the correct flat wide rice noodles, the ratio of shrimp to veggies were good. I noticed the shrimp was cleaned properly. It could of been a five star plate. I've never had a drunken noodles cooked with only chili pepper sauce which lead it to have more of a tomato taste, almost like tomato gravy mixed with the rice noodles. I definitely wasn't a fan, it wasn't what I used to eating. Yes, I understand every location makes their sauce differently but it shouldn't be completely different. There is usually some type of consistency to the sauce. I even mention the sauce is off, it's weird tasting. The lady said it's because of the chili paste they use, that's why it's different. Even if they use chili paste the taste of an original drunken noodles sauce should still be there. It's usually a brown dry sauce that coasts the noodles. I couldn't enjoy the meal. My friends dish was good. It was just missing a few pieces of cashews. The photo on the menu looked much better but the taste was on point. read more

I have eaten here before and ordered them from door dash before as well. The food has always delicious and I've never had bad service either, but today was a different story. When I sat down the server (male) dropped the menu in front of me and walked away to take a phone call without taking a drink order. There were other em that could have taken the call and the place was dead, but I assumed he just forgot. Once I decided on what dish I wanted, I closed my menu to signify I was ready to order. When he approached he still did not ask what I wanted to drink so I just slipped it in there with my order (pad see ew and fried veggie rolls).A few moments later he returns with he brings out my drink. As per usual it is brought out as a glass full of ice and a bottled coke which you poor yourself, however there was no straw. I thought was a bit odd but I didn't worry about it. A few minutes later my food comes out but no spring rolls which he says will be out in a moment. I had ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer kind of hoping they would come out before or at least with my meal. The roll of silverware came out with my meal and upon opening it I found my missing straw (a bit late for that as I had already drank half a glass of coke at that point). The food was not the best I've had from here. For starters one half of the dish was warm while the other half was cold and second it didn't seem to be the freshest almost like it had been previously prepared and then placed under a heat lamp or tossed in the microwave. Needless to say I did not finish the dish, which is something I never do. The spring rolls came out halfway through the meal. Once again it was like they had been just tossed in the microwave or something idk. The dipping sauce was also cold which was an unpleasant combination. Lastly upon leaving I told myself normally I don't do this, but when he asks how everything was (like they always do when you pay for your meal at any restaurant) I will give an honest critique instead of the usual everything was great. But the question never came so I am leaving my critique here instead. My wife and I went in excited for a new Thai restaurant. The gentleman behind the counter asked if we were dining in or taking out. We were dining in and instructed to sit anywhere we'd like. There were two tanks eating there meal, the rest of the restaurant was empty. We were brought menus and utensils. We waited and waited for a server to come take our order. An Asian family came in, were seated and promptly brought water. When the server was passing by we asked for water. Several minutes later the water was brought out. Then nothing. The two people working were standing behind the counter conversing while we were ignored. After ten minutes we walked out. Thankfully Murfreesboro has many other restaurant. read more

The good: Yummy spicy spring roll was served to us very quickly when we were seated, along with water. The lychee bubble tea was out of this world! I think they cook their tapioca in sweetened water. It was superb! Husband's dish was delicious; sorry I don't know what he ordered. Looked like it was meat with bell peppers and onions cooked in chili oil. Served with white rice -- wish they had asked if he wanted brown because he forgot to say. The coconut soup was also very good, except that about half the chicken was oddly tough. But this girl hates cilantro and I've got to say that the kind they used was so mild that it would have been missed had it not been there. It was the perfect finishing touch to this soup. Lastly, the menu has items on it I haven't seen anywhere else. The bad: If you like Pad Thai, theirs is the poorest I've literally ever tasted. Or rather, not tasted because it honestly had no flavor. I doused it in both soy (which I have a hunch might have been watered down because it didn't add any flavor) and Sriracha, to no avail. With at least eight people working, the service was s.l.o.w. V.E.R.Y. S.L.O.W. I didn't think we were ever going to get out of there! We were so hungry going in, it was awesome that they brought us those spring rolls because we would have passed out by the time our food got there. And we had no choice but to pay with cash because we didn't think we would ever get to leave if we had to wait for someone to process a credit card transaction! The place is very loud for an enjoyable chat over your meal. Just bad acoustics and nothing soft on the walls to cut the sound. This made the soft voice of the server, coupled with her very thick accent, impossible to understand. I wanted to order a beverage but the only place they're listed is on a board at the back of the store so I had to leave my seat and to choose what I wanted to order. Who doesn't put beverages on the menu?? Lastly, watch your fingers as you move your chair. Though not uncomfortable (and I'm so glad they didn't go with the industrial metal chairs that are all the rage right now), the backs are made of plywood and aren't sanded well where your fingers are likely to make contact as you slide the chair out. The questionable: This is a new location of a restaurant already in Nashville. They use a .org for their website which isn't really appropriate for a commercial business. They're certainly allowed to do it and I don't think anyone would mistake it for a non-profit like so many others intend for people to when they inappropriately use .org, but being in the business, just a pet peeve of mine. read more

I went to Ginger Thai Murfreesboro for the 1st time tonight for take out. I ordered Pad See Ew Shrimp and Pad Thai Pork costing $24. I requested that each dish be very mild. After getting home, each dish was so hot, spicy with so, so much red pepper, I lost my voice. I contacted the store and spoke with the manager. He was the gentleman that also took my order. His response was "I'm sorry, we use Thai red peppers." I have no idea what that has to do with my terrible order. I DO NOT recommend Ginger Thai Murfreesboro. Their Pho is great, crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli is AMAZING, but the crispy duck was not good at all. Nothing about it was crispy. If I would have eaten the meal there I would have complained because it was mostly fat, like inedible fat, but due to covid we got delivery so not an option. I have eaten crispy duck many other places so I know everywhere has their own version- which would have been fine. So, the food isn't horrible, but I won't be back. (Thank goodness for this taste test before requesting the clinic's catering order next week...woulda' been a disaster.) I knew the reviews were mixed, but I wanted to give this place a chance. I feel a little sorry for anyone choosing this place as their first Thai experience, because they may walk away with a false sense of "This is what Thai food is all about." Because it's not. I've enjoyed Thai cuisine for years while living in Florida, Seattle, Atlanta, DC, Maryland, and Houston, and I'd like to think I know what it is, and isn't, supposed to taste like. When craving Thai on my clinic days in Murfreesboro, my faves are; #1 Pad Thai Cafe (great, truly authentic, Thai dishes, but be prepared to patiently wait for a parking space...I never mind waiting for quality), and #2 Taste of Thai (tastes great, and when time is not on my side, has the convenience of a drive thru window for orders placed in advance). Back to Ginger Thai Bistro.... First impression: The young lady taking my order over the phone was very sweet, and patient when I called back to add something else to my order. The food: -"Fried" calamari ... flash fried calamari with clumps of uncooked batter...not appetizing at all. Half of the calamari was also soaked in sweet coconut milk from the mango sticky rice dish. The styrofoam container that held the calamari had a piece of tape, in attempts to hold it closed (due to a torn off/broken tab...not sure how because a large container was used for a very small amount of calamari, certainly no potential to burst open a closed container). The tape failed to keep it closed because the juices from the Panang curry pretty much demolished everything in the bag. That tape had no chance of survival. I salvaged what I could, popped in the air fryer, and it was edible. I did like the peppery seasoned breading/batter. -Panang Curry w/Shrimp ... overcooked, rubbery shrimp and super bland (unseasoned) curry. The spice level is present, but it was as if they threw coconut milk, broccoli, shrimp, and some Thai chilis in a pot, and boiled to oblivion. I can honestly say I have never had bland curry. Whether it be Jamaican, Indian, Vietnamese or Thai...(yes, they each have their own types of curry dishes)...curry is not supposed to be bland. -Kids Chicken Lo Mein ... lol...didn't even TRY to season this. I guess meals on the "Kids" menu do not deserve seasoning. I asked for medium heat level, received NO heat level. Reminded me of plain udon noodles, sprinkled with a few small pieces of cabbage and carrots, and a few pieces of super dry "beef-jerky-tough" chicken, all soaked in soy sauce, then stir fried. -Mango Sticky Rice ... My fave, and I get this at every Thai place I visit. This place serves an interesting purple rice/quinoa blend that I'd never had or seen before. Someone posted a pic of it, so I thought, why not. Not the grossest thing I've ever had, but the rice blend was weirdly spongy... like it's been sitting in the back of the fridge for about a week. Maybe it's supposed to be this way? The sliced mango was great though! -Crab Rangoon ... The filling was decent, but their choice of wonton skin/wrapper was not the best. Super hard, making it difficult to enjoy. (Like kettle chips, fried 2 times more.) I just ate the portion that contained the filling. - Egg Rolls ... I can't comment on taste. Due to poor packaging (maybe they're not used to take out orders?), the juices from the curry and lo mein (yep, juices from the lo mein), as well as the coconut milk from the mango sticky rice dish, leaked from their containers, and consumed the cheap take out bag the egg rolls were in, which were unfortunately placed at the bottom of the bag. I wish I would've looked at the bag before I left. I didn't notice until I was on I-24, halfway to Nashville. So, the egg rolls were soggy... like egg roll/rice paper wrapper disintegrating soggy. The air fryer was able to restore a little of the crispiness, but it's a good thing I went straight home and not back to the office. Also soaked were the cute little napkins wrapping the 3 sets of plastic cutlery. It was just a gross mess to clean up. My order was the only order sitting there ready and waiting in their empty restaurant, and the staff was just standing around talking. Not sure why they could/would not take time to properly pack my order. So, this experience was/is kind of bittersweet. I'm really unhappy with spending $40+ on less than mediocre food, and giving a $20 tip (I'm always generous). During these times, with the coronavirus, lockdowns, and businesses cutting staff and losing business, it makes my small monetary loss kind of okay. read more

Definitely a great find! We ordered a cup of Tom Kah Gai, a bowl of Pho Beef and Pad See Ew (beef), and let me tell you it was phenomenal! The broth from the pho is on point! (Just like momma makes it). The Pad See Ew is the best I've had around here. The noodles were chewy and the flavor was balanced of savory and slightly sweet. Now... the cup of Tom Kah Gai, waaaaaaay too sweet! I would totally pass on this unless you enjoy slurping down simple syrup. Well, other than that, the service was very friendly and pleasant.
