Service was good but the food was completely tasteless and way over priced. Ex $16 weak beer, $10 sparkling water

I ate there last week, and the food was outstanding. We had a beef noodle soup and a curry shrimp dish. There were good portions. And service from Jayson was also great. read more

My wife and our friends celebrated an amazing evening at MGM last week and our meal at Ginger was the highlight. Polite and accommodating staff at the host stand had us seated in a matter of 2 minutes or less, and our server Blake was prompt, professional and always attentive to us. The Chef personally came to our table and greeted us and thanked us for coming by and congratulated us (my wife and I were in the middle of a move to FL), and the proceeded to cook an amazing family style meal that was beyond this world. We shared a total of about 12 dishes including spring rolls, pot stickers, and clams as appetizers, and my favorite, Sea Bass for entrees. I highly recommend stopping in to sample some of the amazing Asian cuisine Ginger has to offer. read more

As other reviewers have noted, food is good but it's overpriced -- I figure by about 1/3. Our service was not bad but it's better elsewhere. Next time we're in National Harbor and want Asian we'll go to Grace's Mandarin, which we've been to several times before. Also good food. An elegant setting. Service that's better. More reasonably priced. read more

Whatever kinks people have been complaining about in the reviews after Ginger opener seem to be working their way out. We had a great meal and very quick, friendly service. My husband's cocktail took significantly longer than my beer but that was the only hitch. Big thumbs up for the soups - hot & sour had just the right heat, and crab soup had generous amounts of crab meat. The Penang curry duck was delicious and had big lychees (I love lychees!). Hooray and THANKS for delicious vegetarian entrees; the browned tofu with mushrooms, baby bok choy and snow peas was terrific. read more

Panda Express taste for much higher prices!! I suggest to owners that either they lower prices or improve quality of food! I ordered chicken lettuce wraps ($12 for 3 not too high in price) tasted like boiled chicken. We also ordered General Tso chicken $24.00 , it was enough for two, it was just ok! Service was excellent but I can't give more than two stars because of food taste, quality and prices! read more

Went there with some family members around 3pm so it wasn't very busy. Service was very good, Cecilia was our server. Very attentive. Food was really good. Just be aware of the amount of spice they use. Everything is really hot. If you don't like spicy food, make sure to ask the kitchen to make it mild. read more

Went to MGM for my bachelor party. For convenience my party and I decided on eating at Ginger. Overall good experience. Ordered he spring rolls and lettuce wraps for apps. The spring rolls are 3 smaller sized spring rolls cut in half. The lettuce wraps were there large lettuce leafs with filling. The spring rolls were quite possibly the best spring rolls I've had. The lettuce wraps were pretty good. My party and I decided to order a bunch of dishes to include Beef Chow Foon, Combination fried rice, Mongolian beef, Chicken and Broccoli, clams, and 3 cups chicken. Out of the dishes the Mongolian beef, clams, and Beef Chow Foon shined. The other dishes were good but nothing spectacular. We ended with the mango and sticky rice. Mangos were perfect but the rice and coconut milk seemed to have fallen short. Overall good but not spectacular. The portions are enough for a couple scoops of each shared amongst 6 people. With this said overall value may not be there. Total bill came out to be $270ish pre tip. There were some dishes that were $130+ a plate. Average price of each plate we ordered was $30+. For the price I don't think it was a great value even though food was good. I would say this restaurant is more of a special occasion restaurant. Customer service was great. I would give this restaurant a strong 4 out of 5 stars. read more

Horrible! This is the worst Asian food I have ever had and it is way too expensive for the quality. The MGM Grand needs to kick this restaurant out of the hotel. There were annoying fruit flies everywhere and when I brought it to my server's attention she blamed it on the hotel. read more

Hi Marian S. thanks for your response to my review of service yesterday. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. You mentioned that the customers who walked up after us were likely M Life Rewards members, well I too am one. In fact, I was asked a few times at the MGM Theater bar, and the place we ate at after we left Ginger, in fact that was one of the first questions they asked. I was never asked that when I came to Ginger, nor were any of the guests that approached after me. We were literally within ear and eye sight and no one was asked by the host or the manager so I don't believe that was the case. When I left Ginger I was treated with great service everywhere else so I absolutely know it's not the entire MGM as a whole, and I would not let that one experience deter me from returning to MGM. I plan to frequent it quite often. However, Ginger I will likely not return to. At least not until they have a more transparent seating/host system in place. Thanks again. read more

The restaurant is beautiful. My girlfriend and I were serviced right away. I loved the Hong Kong wonton noodle soup, it was to die for. For an entree, We ordered the Thai beef fried rice and Taiwanese noodle. That was also really good. Great food a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. I really felt like I got my money's worth and the manager Steven came around a couple times to make sure that our meal was great and the service was good so thank u to him. I'd recommend to anyone who wants to really experience fine dining. We'll be back read more

Let's start with atmosphere. We got seated at a table that is actually in the middle of the entryway. You are separated by a wall but, it feels a lot like eating in the food court at the mall. The service was mediocre at best. The food was far from the $100 check reflected. The food, for the price was merely ok. I had kalbi and my wife had chicken with green curry. Neither were anything to write home about. The only 2 bright spots were the oyster stout that I had and my wife's glass of wine. Not worth the time or money to go here. read more

Busy Saturday night. Looking at Ginger from the lobby - because of how open, brightly lit, and close together the tables were - it took me a few minutes to determine if this was a restaurant with servers or a food court. When we realized it was not a food court, we walked in and were seated quickly. Service was attentive...however this was the most bland Chinese food I have ever tasted. Very tasteless and everything was overcooked /mushy and oversalted. The fried rice was not fried rice but overcooked to the point of being a clumpy starchy mass. It came with a sauce they called "gravy" which was a gelatinous, tasteless, brown, corn starched goo. It wobbled on the plate like jello and was actually making me sick to look at. Imagine overcooking white rice with too much water and then brown turkey gravy from a cheap flavor packet...and that's what it tasted like. The dumplings were so overcooked that the dumpling shell tasted the same as its filling. I think all ethnic restaurants have a special responsibility to introduce people to the best food of their culture: this place failed on that count. The servers were nice but the food is clearly designed to play it as safe as possible...Meanwhile, the prices were ludicrously high. read more

The food is really good. The Thai, Korean and Chinese cuisine is good in every aspect. The Korean dishes are pretty authentic tasting.

Cathy waitress service was phenomenal, the menu choices was a suitable variety. The food was tasty and the quantity was plentiful

Gave our reservation for 12 away after we called to say we were going to be late due to traffic. Hostess at the front desk said, "Ok, see you then!" When we arrived it took 15 min for a manager to come and confirm that they did not have our table. What a waste of time and effort. No apologies either. read more

I had read a lot of negative reviews, so I was hesitant to try Ginger, but it was fantastic in every way. The service and attentiveness of the staff was outstanding, and every bit was excellent. Do not hesitate to go - and yes, it is pricey, but all the restaurants there are. We were there for a concert and planned to go into town, but the timing didn't work. Glad we went. read more

Ginger was such a nicer and clean restaurant. The food was delicious. One waitress that suck out to me was Song. She was so sweet and waited on us hand and foot. She cared so much about how we were. She even complimented us. I recommend going to Ginger. read more

The ambiance great and the food was decent. However, the service was terrible and slow. Our waitress "Song" was the worst! A group of us dined here at about 3am and there were no more than 5 or 6 tables occupied. Song completely forgot to bring out an order of two items and she seemed to be confused when we asked questions. We all thought maybe she was new on the job, however, when we asked another employee, they stated she has been there for 6 months. This clearly did not reflect in how she handled our table. A gentlemen from another table paid for one of my friends meal and this friend bought him a drink. Song seemed to be confused as to which table these items should be billed to (it was clearly a no-brainer). She was also very persistent in getting a tip from my friend because she claimed the guy didn't give one for my friends meal (not professional at all). The manager on duty just stood there the whole time watching and saying nothing as if he was confused as well, although before we left he apologized for my other friend not getting her meal. If they are going to serve food at this hour, they need staff that knows how to handle customers in any given situation, especially given the price. read more

I ordered two orders of Kalbi and was excited to tear into it. Unfortunately, after opening the to go boxes it immediately disappointed me because it was not Kalbi (I am Korean)... I initially thought it was another sauce but the taste was just inedible in any case. The manager offered to fix it and gave me two new orders the next day but they still were off. This time I ate a portion before I called it quits because it was so bad. I ended up getting really sick and called back again to discuss it with the manager. He offered a THIRD attempt to fix it, and told me that other customers had complained about the Kalbi and there was something wrong with the sauce. He told me that somehow the chef found that a bottle of fish sauce fell into the Kalbi sauce and ruined the sauce. I think that was a story, I think the sauce turned and was sour. Either way, I don't think the solution is go out of my way and return for a THIRD try, especially after paying $30 a dish. Way over priced, and way off the mark. I saw other unhappy customers working through other issues with their bills and food the days I was there. The only thing going for this place was the location and atmosphere. SAIGON down the hallway in the Market is spot on for flavorful food and 1/3 the price. read more

I went with a group of 5, and Ginger staff stole credit card information from two of our cards. (Before that, they also double-charged me for (1) the entire bill and (2) the third of it that we had specified to our waitress, before finally getting the charge correct nearly two weeks later.) Fraudulent charges included one to Outback Steakhouse for several hundred dollars and one for a Groupon at about 6am this morning. This behavior had nothing to do with ours at the restaurant. We all left fairly generous tips and were polite to the waitstaff, even when they unapologetically got our order wrong. The food was actually pretty good, but avoid MGM unless you want your credit card account to be at risk. read more

The MGM is a very nice venue and the atmosphere at Ginger is great for people watching and being "seen". That being said, I think the biggest thing going against a restaurant like Ginger is that there are way too many authentic, really good, cheaper Asian restaurants in the Washington DC area that local residents know and love already. Point being Vietnamese and Korean restaurants - don't offer us the Americanized versions at Ginger when we are already used to the real thing by just hopping over to Seven Corners or Annandale for a fraction of the price. We all know Vietnamese Spring rolls are made of GROUND pork and shrimp, taro, and wood ear mushrooms served with fish sauce - which you can get anywhere around the Washington DC area for around $3-$4 as an appetizer. Ginger's Vietnamese Spring rolls did not have the same texture or flavor - of which Vietnamese food is known for freshness and complexity of flavors. Same with Korean bibimbap, bulgogi, and kalbi - you can get that anywhere in the DC area and have it cooked in front of you for a fraction of the price by Koreans. Ginger's was just not the same - their sauces were all too sweet. Perhaps the clientele at the MGM will be folks from out of town from less diverse areas than Washington DC. DC is just way too diverse for many locals to like the food at this restaurant. I did like their mixed drinks though. The free parking at the casino helped too. Also, the service was great. read more

We ended up at Ginger after getting zero service at Bento. At Ginger we were greeted warmly when we arrived. Attentive hostess and waiter. Actually, our waiter was beyond great. We only had a few things, some taro/shrimp off dim sum menu, very good, soup dumplings, would not order again as they are not great quality and lettace wraps, which also were just ok, please put some more chicken in them the amount was seriously almost none. For a casino restaurant, the food is not awesome and price is on par for casino's(over priced for what get). But would give them a second chance given the service was outstanding. read more

Very nice experience where Ms Song took such good care of us. We had a birthday cake ration and she brought our ice cream scoop with a candle to honor the birthday girl and to top it off she sang happy birthday in Korean for us. We had the crab fried rice, string beans , chicken and drunken noodles and they were very tasty read more

We really enjoyed the Asian food here. Quick visit to MGM and thought this looked nice. Decor is lovely and service attentive. Food was very fresh tasting, much like a PF Changs. We really enjoyed it. Was expensive but to be expected given the location at MGM. read more

Ginger is not to be confused with the other headlining Celebrity-backed restaurants (Voltaggio, Fish, and Marcus). It is one of the hotel's "house" restaurants, along with their other concept, a sports bar. This means you're gonna get supplies trucked in from Sysco, cooked by line cooks per corporate recipe and served by hotel staff- not industry professionals. To succinctly and accurately describe this place, it's PF Chang's at twice the price and half the service, it's also not as good! That said, if you're already at MGM to gamble, check it out for yourself, but it's certainly not a destination in and of itself and anyone who raves about it is clearly doesn't get out much! read more

I did not like this place at all and wouldn't return. The drinks are not good. Tried the jasmine martini and it was pretty much juice. Food is average and overpriced for what you get. There is also nothing great about the ambiance. read more

Service was wonderful. We were so lucky to have a kind waitress named Song, who did a great job in bringing our tables our food, drinks, and other concerns quickly. Celebrated my Dad's 70th with dinner at Ginger. We had a large party (10) which can be a challenge. Song, our server for the evening took care of us, made sure my dad was well taken care off, cut and served the custom cake we brought and was paid attentiinnto every detail. In addition to the awesome service from Song, the managers stopped by several times to make sure we were happy. Delicious food and excellent service (thank you Song)! read more

Went here for an anniversary dinner after visiting the casino. Decor is pleasing and wait staff were polite and attentive. The food was mediocre at best. Ordered sea bass and garlic shrimp entrees. Both dishes were in a similar chili sauce and not very flavorful at all. Almost seemed like a pre made sauce. I cook a lot so when I go out to an upscale restaurant I expect the food to be better than I can prepare. Not worth the price I wouldn't return. read more

It was my birthday so my family and I decided to do something special in order to celebrate. Though it was opening weekend we decided to go to Ginger for my birthday dinner. We had a reservation so we were seated immediately but nobody came over to us for over 15 minutes. At that time we went to the maitre d who had a waiter come over. We had questions about the menu, but the waiter was not knowledgeable about any of it. We gave him our order. First a soup came out along with a main entree. While we were four people the soup and the entrée were both for me. I told them to return the entree as we were still waiting for other appetizers. My husband finally got his but my daughters never received theirs. We asked about it and they told us they were all out of edamames. Really?? on the first weekend you were already out and nobody even bothered to tell us. The soup was large enough so I shared it with my daughters and the funny thing is it turned out to be the wrong soup. Finally the meals came out but they too came out one at a time. My entree tasted like it was the dish they came out 20 minutes earlier but placed into the microwave. The last meal was served about 15 minutes after the first one arrived and that is only because we pointed out where was the meal. It actually turned out that they forgot to put that order in. My husband ordered Pad Thai but he felt that it had no flavor. Nobody ever showed up to see how we were enjoying the meal or had come to refill our glasses. We are giving the review one star because zero is not an option. It will be a birthday dinner that I will never forget read more

We came here for my cousins birthday party and first off her initial reservations were cancelled by management because of the overflow issue they have been having. We set reservations at 830pm which they said they would accommodate at 11pm. We were not seated until almost 1130pm. Now none of this is that big of an issue for me, My main compalint has to do with Bee our horrible waiter. She never not once came and checked on us A PARTY OF 9. Everytime we needed something she had to track her down. She brought us our food and slammed down our plates just very welcoming and negative. She brought my cousins birthday cake out still in the box and never cleaned the table off beforehand. In the end when we were ready for our checks she didnt even ask how we wanted them split then complained saying she was confused and cant do it. Finally she went and took an extra 30mins just to split our checks up then messed it up and didnt even split them right. She left my cousins card on the side of the table without handing it back to her and charged her card incorrectly. Smh Horrible service for the cost of the food it should be way more elegant respectful and caring atmosphere. MGM has to uphold better standards than this. read more

Chicken wings were really good. Best part of the meal, the gyoza was nothing to write home about. Seafood fried rice wasn't fried at all just some sauce over it and lacking salt. Drunken noodles were just okay and definitely not drunken noodles. Not a single ounce of heat was detectable. Honestly you can get food far superior for half the price from your local Carryout. With the seating it gives the feel of sitting in a mall food court, just with higher prices. read more

Great food, nice atmosphere. Need to work on reservations, 730 reservation, not seated until after 800 - needs improvement.

Went there on Saturday night, dinner before a comedy show... I usually don't write reviews, even if a place is lackluster , but this place needs a review... we didn't have a reservation, but said it would be a 30-40 min wait though 30% of restaurant was empty, no biggie, first time at MGM and we can easily walk-off 30-40 mins looking at the nearby stores ...danged are table was ready 10 mins after we checked in .. cool much faster than the original quote.... Now this is the Chinese New Year, and there are many Asians out and about in the Casino and in the courtyard looking at the decorations, but NOT ONE Asian patron was in this restaurant; first bad sign. Then the prices on the menu were insane, chicken fried rice $28.88, Half Duck $44.88, Full duck $88.88, Mongolian steak $38.88... I thought ok, these must be large sized plates, that could easily feed two or more, nope.. regular sized plates that you get and your local carryout place. We order the lettuce wraps/chicken, which were ok, then our main entree , Mongolian beef comes out (mind you it's supposed to be a Filet).. this is slightly smaller than what we would get at the local carryout , and OVER 50% of the pieces were just FAT !!!!! .. if that wasn't bad enough, the steak, which is cooked medium rare, didn't even have a seer on them, NASTY texture and minimal flavor . We asked for some more rice, I figured I'd at least absorb some of that fat in my belly..none came. they rushed us out of there in about 20 mins flat. TERRIBLE food experience , one of the worst EVER. read more
