This was possibly the most overpriced restaurant I've ever been to. Not only that, the food took an hour to come out and it wasn't even busy. A plate of bbq Chinese pork that you can get for $10 elsewhere came out to be $20. Hong Kong noodle soup which you can find anywhere from $10-12 costs a whopping $25. Four pieces of Dim Sum for over $10? GET OUTTA HERE. There's nothing wrong with spending top dollar for quality food, but this was NOT QUALITY. Who are they trying to fool? A little bowl of crab soup was $15. The waitress felt bad for us waiting so long so she gave us some free soup on the house ($15 soup, mind you these little bowls would cost 5 bucks at a Chinese take-out). The waitress was the only reason this place gets more than a 1 star. Pass this place and head to Marcus instead! read more

Me and wife had a lovely time at ginger. We were looked after very well by Song the awesome waitresses and it was nice to have a chat with Song. I told Song how pleased I was to see that you now have a separate vegetarian menu with a lovely selection of starters and main courses. The meal was lovely and we had a lovely time, thank you ginger and song for making us so welcome. read more

Heard great things about Ginger so we made a reservation prior to our concert. Service was great! Food was 3 out of 5. We've had better. $36 for General Tao Shrimp. $18 for martini, $12 for bowl of soup, $20+ plus for fried rice. The prices were outrageous! We also were fighting "plant/fruit flies" during the entire dinner. We asked to move but was told it's the entire MGM b/c of the fresh flowers. Well dammit, get artificial flowers. Torn as to whether I would return due to the prices alone. read more

My wife and family and I frequently get into what constitutes a real "A" restaurant experience. We've all had our fair share of "Bs" and "Cs" and even worse. But when you get into this type of scoring it's important to remember that the restaurant experience is more than just the food consumed; that truly is only part of it. As I say a restaurant with great food can easily be ruined by poor atmosphere or, worse, poor service. So it really is the aggregate of all of those things. Now, is there an argument to be made that the food is the most important thing and should be given the most weight? Yes, there is. And in the case of 'Ginger', even if all other factors scored poorly, the food alone would carry it into an easy, very strong "B". We splurged for our 15 year wedding anniversary. My wife loves sea bass so I got her the fried sea bass and I ordered the salt and pepper squid. The bass was one of the best dishes I have been served in a restaurant in a very long time. Lightly battered and lightly fried, the fish was perfectly cooked, the seasoning did not over power the natural deliciousness of the fish. Just an exquisite dish. The salt and pepper squid was equally fantastic. For an appetizer, I asked the server, who was a delightful, polite, charming Asian woman, to bring me her favorite app. She brought the lollipop lamb chops...she scored a home run. Delectable. My wife and I were gnawing the meat from the bones. The atmosphere of the place is sublime, it's such a perfect place to take in a perfect meal. And this brings me to the last important piece: the service. As I said, the server was bright, welcoming, charming, knowledgeable, not overbearing while very attentive, she never let a drink run dry or a water glass not be filled. Down to warm towels to wash ourselves after the meal, every single service detail was paid close attention to. This is the first true "A" dining experience I have had in a very long time. read more

Wowww, this has become my favorite restaurant in the MGM resort. Their version of the Chinese is very authentic. I got the beef kalbi and salt pepper fried tofu, both of which I highly recommend. The service was attentive and impeccable. An interesting fact about this place, every item is priced, ending in $0.88! Chinese lucky numbers. They have a 3-course lunch special for $23. The place opens till 2 am. read more

My friends and I went to National Harbor Casinos to celebrate birthday of one of them. We had already made reservation at Ginger Restaurant. as soon as we got there we were welcomed by a very pleasant hostess, she seated us right away. The food was ordered and it arrived quite fast(considering there was 13 of us). The food was delicious, most of all the service was great and our hostess Qiyang was excellent, very professional. She made us feel at home. We had a great time. I will very highly recommend to anyone to try this place if you happen to be at the National Harbor. read more

Came here for a birthday celebration and enjoyed the experience. The ambiance was great and the service was impeccable. The restaurant looks very modern and has great decor. We ordered the pangang curry, sesame chicken, drunken noodles and honey walnut prawns. The food was very good. The sesame chicken was sweet and crispy. The chicken did not have a fishy taste as some Asian places do. I felt like it was white meat instead of dark meat which is a plus in my book. The flavor was delicious. It came with a side of white rice. It was $26 - I give it 5 stars. The honey walnut prawns were also great! The shrimp were on the large side and were fried. They were topped with a type of wasabi mayo sauce and came with honey walnuts. This dish also came with white rice and tasted great! It was $28 - I give it 3.5 stars. The Pangang curry was humongous as a dish. It was probably good enough for 2 or 3 people. My husband is vegtarian so he got it with veggies. He complained it was lukewarm and that it was missing some real authentic Thai flavor. Perhaps this restaurant is not specialized in Thai food. I tasted it and it was kinda sorta bland. It was $23 more expensive than majority of Thai places in the area - I give it 3 stars. The drunken noodles originally come with seafood. But i requested only veggies. I felt that the noodles were not authentically Thai, again this restaurant seems to not cook Thai food as well. The noodles were on the dry side and I felt like the dish had more vegetables than noodles. Not very spicy nor saucey. I like it saucey. My contention was that the waiter charged me the same price as he would for the seafood drunken noodles. I told him mine are vegetarian with no meat. He said its still the same price as if it had seafood ($26). A rip off really. If i knew this I would of told him to give me the shrimp and scallops on the side so I can feed it to my damn dog. If you want only veggie drunken noodles be ready to pay $26. The total was around $150 including tax and tip. We did not order alcohol since most cocktails were close to $20, just soft drinks. Was all this worth the $150? Probably not, but it was a birthday for a friend so we picked up the tab and felt ok to splurge. Overall great experience, restaurant should improve Thai dishes and regulate their prices better. read more

So if you believe Asian Fusion should resemble the local carry out in flavor and presentation, then you won't like Ginger. The food is good and the ingredients are fresh. You will not find greasy, soy sauce saturated entrees. This is not that type of spot. Very Pricey IMO... $16 for a tiny (but good) cocktail? Service was good/average. Not spectacular, but decent. I did forget my cell phone at the table and the waitress ran out to give it to me! Thought that was awesome! read more

The food was very good. I had the honey glazed chicken wings, spring rolls and Singapore noodles. All of it was so good.

We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who offered cocktails. I ordered a Grey Goose martini which I always do. It was $19 and tasted watered down. My wife ordered drunken noodles with seafood ($29.88). It contained a minimal amount of sea food. I ordered a half a roast duck ($41.88) which was served a good 10 minutes after my wife's entrée. We also added a side of spinach for $20.88. All in all the food was tasty, but vastly overpriced. We will not return. read more

Worst Pad Thai I have ever been served! Way overpriced! Bland and tasteless. No spiciness.

My experience here was highly disappointing. From the wait staff to the food, I was waiting for our dinner party to finish up so I could leave. Starting with the wait staff, our waiter was not very attentive and we had to remind him several times of the things we needed. My friend and I started with the salt and pepper squid. It was the WORST squid ever in my life. I get that it states it's salt and pepper seasoned but that batter was so bland. Someone else in the party ordered prawns which was made in the same batter and she had the same complaint. 5/11 of us sent back our entree orders. At order 5, the manager came to take our ids for report writing because she said it was alarming that we kept sending back meals. No what is alarming, is the blandness of your food. But I've never heard anybody ask for ids to write a report. This place is too expensive to get below subpar service. You're better off hitting up the local carry out. read more

My hubby and I landed here on a random day as he wanted to take a chance at the MGM Casino. The place looked very appealing from the outside but the waiter staff was clearly overwhelmed which lead to an underwhelm experienced. I had the Shrimp Thai Noodle and my hubby had the Pho Soup with Beef. The soup was basically flavorless. The Shrimp Pad Thai Noodle was really good but again the time it took for the order to be placed, be squeezed into a corner area with a small child, and the lack of concern with our overall experience would either lead to a smooth pass or a possible redo. It just depends. read more

My absolute favorite curry of all time is at Ginger! Although you can expect overpriced food at most casino restaurants, this one is actually pretty average for the area. The service is great every time we go and they accommodate a wait pretty well. read more

I made NYE reservations for Ginger months before MGM even opened (to celebrate my 8th anniversary) and had anticipated it heavily. After all, I love Asian cuisine. We arrived 2 hours earlier than our reservations to take in the new casino with all its glitz and glamor. When it was time, we were seated immediately with mean stares from those waiting. Having worked in the food industry, it was obvious they weren't trying to overload the wait staff, as several tables were open but saved for reserved guests. For dinner, we decided to order the spicy Dungeness crab ($88) and 4lb garlic lobster ($130) The display of these dishes were to be amazed. The crab was battered and then sprinkled in crispy spicy seasoning. And the lobster, swimming in sexy garlic sauce. Noted as "live" on the menu, both bad boys were killed to order making the meat extra tender and fresh! However, being a baltimore girl I've tasted better. Plus, we paid $250+ for that meal. Which we knew ahead of time, paying for the experience because it was our anniversary and NYE. Would we go again? Nope. There wasn't anything to be impressed by that we couldn't have experienced else where for significantly less cost. 1 star each for the wait staff, experience and out of generosity. Maybe if I stuck to a mediocre dish I would've been happier? But that seems backwards for such an opulent establishment. read more

Ginger - Crispy vegetable spring rolls - Pan Asian Near Me - National Harbor, Maryland

This place is ridiculously over priced even by "nice Vegas-style casino's faux Asian restaurant" standards. I honestly don't know how they have the conscience to charge the price they do for very tiny portions of basic asian food (eg. ~$30 for half a soya chicken, $8 for a bowl of plain congee). A comparable restaurant like Lemongrass in Aria is also pricey, but at least the food is waay better. You are expecting either 1) decent quality or 2) somewhat filling portions. This place is NEITHER. It's trying to get by with food tasting like a 3 Yelp-Stars place at FOUR times the price, and maybe 1/3 the quantity... Seriously, nothing redeeming at all about this place at all (maybe except for the interior deco..?). We got 3 things and our bill came to about $84 ($28 each): salt & pepper squid, house special softshell crab fried rice, and honey walnut shrimp. It was honestly the worst meal I've had for how much it was. The squid was bland and TINY. We did take out and the morsels literally barely filled the bottom one third of the container (see picture). What the heck! We seriously thought they made a mistake. Squid's one of the cheapest seafood around and for $28 you couldn't throw a few more pieces into the deep fryer? The fried rice was supposed to be a house specialty... they put a tiny piece of softshell crab cut in half on top of a big pile of normal fried rice (I guess that's how they make you feel full here...). Felt waaay let down. Shrimp tasted decent and we surprisingly got more pieces of shrimp than squid (was honestly expecting like 3 shrimps after seeing the squid but got like 8). The walnut tasted kind of stale. Meh. You can't do fancy French food portions with cheap Asian food! Would never come back to this place again. read more

Here's the thing. I'm happy to splurge on a great meal, but the more I pay, the higher my expectations will be. Ginger, being an asian-fusion restaurant, had a lot of the same items I would order from PF Changs, but marked up. We started with the spring rolls and potstickers, and they were just okay. For the entree I went for one of my favorite dishes, the Mongolian Beef, which was nearly $30 at Ginger ($17.50 at PF Changs). I told myself, if I'm going to pay $10+ more than I normally would for this meal, it should be better than what I'm used to. I was wrong. The beef was rubbery and lacked flavor, salt, and spice. It was almost gray in color. My husband ordered the General Tso's chicken and was also disappointed by the strange texture and lack of flavor. I just can't justify the cost of a meal I don't like when I know that there is a better, cheaper version at another restaurant that is just as nice (if not nicer). Case closed. read more

I ate an early dinner at Ginger yesterday after a day full of fun at the MGM and the customer service and food was amazing. We were greeted with smiles and severed hot green tea because it was a bit chilly. We ordered fried rice and a noddle dish. The food came out rather quickly, hot and fresh. The food was delicious and o would go back everyday for lunch if I could. I mean fast service great food what more could you ask for. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Well let's start by the location, it's very convenient if you are going to be like at the casino gambling or if you want to go like on a date to a nice Asian restaurant. The restaurant is very clean, the staff have very nice red and black uniforms, the menus look very fancy and it's easy to follow. First impression: Terrible, the hostess was on the phone and it took her a good minute to acknowledge us (This is normal right, we understand only one hostess working) she said how many? Didn't even say hello or greeted us. That right there will be one star off my review. She guided us to our table, we said we wanted a different table. She took us there and gave us the menu and walked away. Didn't excuse herself. I got not even one smile from this lady. I didn't get her name, my feedback to manager, hire more bubbly, energetic, enthusiasm hostesses. They are the front of the business they can either save you or kill you. I saw no sense of urgency from this lady whatsoever. Our Waitress: She is the only reason I will probably come back to Ginger. Her name Tommy I remember her name because she made a long lasting impression. She was genuine, approachable, knowledgeable and very friendly (that's how you have to be if you are in the restaurant business. She made some suggestions offered the special and made sure we were taken care of. I never asked for my soda to be filled up, because she was on top of that. The recommendations made it easier for me to order. I ordered duck and it was cooked perfectly, very tender in the inside and crispy in the outside. I also had their pho soup, it was very good however it wasn't hot enough for my taste, I like my soup burning hot and this was more like warm but not a big deal. Tommy suggested great options for dessert and we ended up trying the lychee ball with ice cream (I don't think this is the name) it was very yummy my favorites was vanilla and orange. Pros: easy access from the casino, lovely view, family oriented. Cons: no bathrooms inside the restaurant, you have to walk outside to go to the nearest bathroom. Some dishes are highly overpriced, not so approachable hostess personnel. read more

Nice decor does not make up for the TERRIBLE FOOD! Ugh...If it weren't for the attentive waiters, I'd probably give this place a single star. Also, what's up with the pricing? I'm up for paying more for good food, but that's not what I experienced here! Our beef dish had little flavor while the chicken dish was rubbery. Looks are deceiving; a nice atmosphere does not equate to tasty dishes, at least not here. This place was neither worth my time nor my money. Great place to eat while enjoying the MGM lobby. MD (Muhammad) was an amazing waiter.. courteous, professional, and fast service

As the other reviews have stated the prices for the food here is outrageous. Upscale carry out food as I like to call it. Aside from the casino up charge the service was acceptable. Our waitress was attentive and patient and waited until I decided which entree to settle on between garlic shrimp or sweet and sour chicken( I choose the chicken). I must say the food was good my boyfriend ordered the chicken and broccoli and I ordered a side of green beans with garlic sauce. Although the dishes did not lack in flavor, and I might sound like a cheapie, but $22 and $26 for something I can get around the corner at the neighborhood carry out is crazy; but who am I to complain I choose this life..
