We went in for late breakfast and we're promptly seated. They have a Serve Yourself coffee bar. Probably not an issue but I'm a freak about that stuff. They make their own corned beef hash which was pretty good ( though mine is much better!). Their bread selection is also pretty good in that it's all hand sliced thick. However, on that note they did not have Rye bread- which is my go-to bread. Overall a good breakfast though not a great breakfast. I was happy we stopped in as we were all hungry.

Service on a Saturday noon seemed casual - no wait, got pointed towards a "high two-top" (waitress' words). I ordered some hot coffee and, more importantly, the chicken & waffles ($20). Now, this price point might seem more appropriate for Downtown Portsmouth or Boston, but it exists for a reason. Not only do you get a large portion of fried chicken, waffles, and syrup, its adorned with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Effectively, you're getting chicken & waffle eggs benedict. One would need quite the large appetite or have skipped another meal to finish it all.

What used to be a strong, popular but dated physical facility was transformed into a modern, efficient, welcoming and even elegant venue serving both skiers/riders and the general public. We came over to ski Tenney Mountain during one of the coldest days of the year. Below zero weather, wind, but the snow was pure fluff. And despite the slow lifts, the skiing was superb. Still, six runs in that temperature with a stiff wind took the energy out of me. That's when the Backcountry Bar and Grill came through with a superb Irish Coffee that allowed me to be back after thawing out, with new energy and desire to ski. We then came over here for an early Apre Ski. Five people had superb brews, superb Ultimate Grilled Cheese, awesome Chicken Sandwich. And a Backcountry Pulled Pork with an Apple bourbon barbecue sauce that had me licking my fingers. The bartender was the best I've seen in New England. We will be back because Tenney is one awesome ski mountain and because this wonderful venue makes it complete for customer experience.

It came out nice and hot-perfect to warm you up on a cold day. The veggie sandwich was delicious and had a decent amount of filling. We ordered at the counter and were given a buzzer for when it was ready so you knew it was made to order.

The Sunrise Shack is hands down our favorite breakfast spot in the North Country. We've been to a…read morefew other good places in the Valley area, but this is the one we always find ourselves coming back to. The place is very small and because of that you have to check in at a small window before going inside. It can get very busy and always go mid week for that reason. What the Sunrise Shack lacks in size it more than makes up for with its personality and, of course, its yummy food. It's small yet cozy and homey. The staff is always welcoming and cheerful. And perhaps most importantly, the breakfast always hits the spot. During our most recent visit my boyfriend got blueberry pancakes and I got biscuits and gravy, which I had once before and had a hankering for it again. It was just as hearty and delicious as I remembered it from the last time. The blueberry pancakes were very yummy too. As a side note, if you ask for hot sauce with your meal they have a variety bucket for the table, which is a nice little bonus for hot sauce fiends such as myself. Whether you want your breakfast to be healthy or hearty, or whether you're filling up before going on a rigorous hike or going shopping in the North Conway town center, you simply can't go wrong with The Sunrise Shack.

I've wanted to try out their breakfast for a long time and now I finally did. Going for brunch on a Friday was a great idea even for a summer weekend. We got there a little after 11am and we were famished. My husband ordered their vegetable omelette with a side of bacon. I chose the Jim's Heartburner omelette which had chorizo, tomatoes, red onions and banana peppers in it. Both were delicious but I wish the omelettes were fluffier instead of being overdone. Home fries were decent. Service is friendly and excellent. Prices were just right. There's plenty of parking which is appreciated. Coffee was better than most breakfast places which is certainly something I notice.
