No blending, no thining of bulk areas, just straight line cuts. The online portal made it very easy to book an appointment, and same-day at that! I scheduled a slot with Irene at random, and I will definitely be going back to her in the future. The waiting area is spacious and well-stocked with water, coffee, tea, candy, and magazines. I showed up around 4:45 PM for my 5:00 PM appointment. The previous client ran a little bit over, so I was taken back at 5:15 PM. The hair washing station here was one of the most comfortable I have ever experienced and did not leave my neck hurting. Irene worked quickly, efficiently, and was able to accommodate my request of loose curls. She is easy to chat with and handles hair like a pro. My appointment did run past closing time, but Irene was patient and I did not feel rushed in any way. The service here at RBDR is professional and fair. Oh I'm kind of on a time crunch and then said I can do something quick for you though I went back with him. He washed my hair. He blow dried it. It looked horrible. He said oh we have plenty more time. Do you want me to do anything else? First of all? I thought you were on a time crunch second yeah I want a proper blow dry. The way I want it styled my hair was left frizzy fluffy not straight and overall I could've done this at home. I came here because I wanted somebody to properly blow dry my hair. This is not the place to go. I do not know why it's called Reno blow dry bar. I've been to Ulta that's across the street. Not even across the street. It's like a minute walk. You can see that Ulta from the salon window in Reno blow dry salon. I've been to Ulta and their salon experience is way better and they actually style your hair. Now I'm going home after paying $55 to rest straighten my hair to spend more time on it put more heat on it. It was just a horrible experience. I'll never go back ever again. I went here because I saw a friend go here now. I don't know maybe that was her first time, but I am not going to come back here.

However, two employees did go out of their way to greet the man next to me, with one apologizing for the wait and assuring him she would be with him soon. I was getting close to just walking out because at about 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, when someone finally came over and asked for my name. My stylist never introduced herself, so while she was nice enough, I don't even know her name (and she isn't listed on the website, either). I got a simple shampoo & blowout, and during the shampoo she used the hottest water I've had in a salon. She did not ask me if the temperature was okay, if I had a preference, or check in with me at all -- and I'm the kind of person who likes a super hot shower, so I was surprised by how hot the water was even to me (it was fine for me, but I know that is way beyond lots of people's heat tolerance level). I am sure she would have changed the temperature if asked, but never in my life has a stylist just not checked in on that during a wash. The blowout itself really did come out nice, but I was also surprised by how old the salon is. I think me and my stylist were the only people under like 60 years old in there, so it may be more geared towards an elderly demographic. I am glad I got the stylist I did, because I have never felt so disrespected in a hair salon before (by the other staff) and am honestly still in shock with how little regard the employees had for a customer. Some of them were sitting down and waiting for timers, so it's not like no one was available to greet me, either. Not to mention, I had to wait more than 15 minutes after my appointment time to be acknowledged -- it's not asking a lot to simply be informed if they are running behind. Especially since the man next to me was given that courtesy and respect! I would never go back and would not recommend it, despite the fact that my hair did come out nice at the end of the day. It was just such a bad experience overall, though my stylist really did seem sweet (she is the sole reason I gave 2 stars and not 1), unlike the rest of the staff. The salon itself is also tiny, crowded, hot (they seemingly have no A/C and just kept the door open), and not well ventilated.
