Gilman House was a completely random find. The place we were going to go had a screaming baby so I noped out of there right quick and went back to the drawing board. Gilman House was suggested - he doesn't really know anything about it other than it exists. No menu on Yelp, but I'm seeing several veggie dishes so yeah, we can most definitely make this place work. When we got there we were originally told that this establishment is reservation only, but she went to talk to someone (it was her first day) and we were shown a table. Yay for that! Still not sure if the whole place is usually reservation only and we just got lucky or not, so calling ahead might be a good idea. I really like the décor; kinda reminds me of an eclectic lady's parlor or something. Very, very thick smell of a strong cologne. At first I thought some overly zealous guy had walked through recently, but it seemed to stay the entire time I was there so I don't know about that one. This is a place where you're seated by the hostess and use your phone to pull up the menu and then walk up to the bar to order and from there they have table service. Very confusing, but I digress. I went with a Kamikaze and a Bed and Breakfast Biscuit with cheddar. Love that they have Impossible products here! And veggie biscuits & gravy!? Shut the front door! Definitely would have gotten that if I were hungrier. Overall very good, I really liked the texture of the biscuit and I loved the fact that the fruit cup not only had a variety of fruit, it was the good kinds!

Stumbled upon Gilman house for brunch with some girlfriends. Tons of great options! I opted for the yogurt bowl that had homemade granola and these delicious brûléed bananas. There are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. I am not vegan nor vegetarian and ordered a side of sausage but it ended up being impossible sausage, which I'm not a fan of, but otherwise, I loved this place and will be coming back.

Great spot. Decent drinks and food. The burgers are great! Lots of selection for vegetarian/vegan which is nice. Rum drinks are fantastic. Came recently for brunch and got the Biscuits and Gravy. The biscuit was a bit overworked, it fluffy and light. I also prefer a creamy gravy, but overall the flavor was great. They were able to make poached eggs which is also a major plus in my book!

Cool gin bar with super Sunday brunch menu in Stadium District. Great service, delicious food, and awesome atmosphere. Be sure to reserve a table at https://www.waitlist.me/w/ghreservations. You can also DM @Gilmanhousetacoma on IG for diety requests prior to your visit.

I liked this new spot in Tacoma. The drinks were delicious and the food was pretty good. I had the Mac and cheese which was tasty but a little on the plain side. It also came with a salad. There's not much on their social media page so we didn't know we had to make reservations so ended up somewhere else while we waited for a table. Overall, it was a pretty good stop, I would definitely stop by again for drinks.

Great atmosphere, food doesn't seem to be to pricey. We stopped in only for the Bloody Mary. It was ok, nothing to special. Lots of people are there just to chill. So the wait can be long. Staff was ok. Not real friendly or inviting. Felt like they deal with a lot shitty people and had their guard up. I'm definitely assuming. It was a Sunday morning and somewhat busy. We waited thirty minutes to get in.

Last-minute Brunch date with my Bestfriend. The Gilman House has been on my radar for a while now. So because we did not have a reservation the host was trying to find seating for us and thankfully he did and was able to fit us in last minute. So I like this place you sit down and you get a chance to look at the menu and whenever you're ready to order you're able to go to the bar and place your order. You can either leave a tab open or you can just pay for everything there. So while we wait we had a couple of drinks. It didn't take long for the food to come out. It was really good I will say the pancakes were the best for me. I also had the vegetable bowl but I wasn't quite a fan of it like I should've got something else. Bestfriend had tacos and he enjoyed it so overall it was a great experience we will be going back.

Pictured are some the of several gorgeous seating areas at Gilman House and a terrarium display near our table. This has to be the coziest, sweetest spot in Tacoma to get a drink or share a meal. My husband and I snuggled on a comfy little loveseat covered in faux sheepskin rugs, sharing cocktails, conversation, and delicious foods. Good chill music playing and flattering warm light. Great vibes all around! I will 100% be back again.

We had a great time at Gilman House yesterday. We stopped in at 5:00, right when they opened, and were immediately seated. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I had the roasted veggie sandwich and my partner had the bellhop burger. Their burger buns are spectacular! They kind of look like a brioche bun, but a thousand times better and not greasy. The side salads were really good. Not just a pile of lettuce, but all kinds of goodies. Our food was delicious! I love that there are so many vegetarian items here. I can't wait to go back and try everything I can eat. The decor is super cool and funky. The seats and benches are plush and comfortable. The drinks are pricey, but really tasty. I would absolutely love it if they had brunch on Saturdays. I really want to try the biscuits and gravy! I would definitely suggest people check this place out. The owner said reservations are recommended. I will also post some pics of the dinner menu, since I wasn't able to find them very easily online. Thanks for a great meal!

I was finally able to dine at this fine establishment and it did not disappoint! If you know anything about the owners, they have always served up delicious food and incredible libations. They have knocked it out of the park again! I will be back!

Such a cool 70s vibe! I loved all the decor and the ambience! My large group took a seat in the back near the swordfish and fireplace, which I loved!! I had a lemon drop, which was absolutely perfect. My only complaint came by the request of my two friends who are steadfast, "old-fashioned" drinkers. Their old fashions had some type of red flowers sprinkled in the drink. Every time they took a sip, they complained! I eventually went up to the bar at the end and they told us it was Bergamont! So perhaps if you'd like to stick to the classic, ask to skip the Bergamont- as it has a very strange texture when you're drinking the drink. Overall, really, really cool place!

At first glance it appears super tiny, but the bar goes back pretty far and is a good size. We got there before the nighttime crowds and managed to score the cozy couch in front of the fireplace in the back. It filled up quickly after that, though! The mood is moody and cozy, the perfect spot for making this apart of date night. I can't speak much to the food as we did not order any, but the menu is pretty elevated for a bar. I wouldn't say this place is divey at all, but the menu was still surprising. Service was good and they had a great selection of drinks. I got a hazy IPA (as per usual) and it was delicious! We also got a couple of shots here and absolutely adored the shot glasses they use. They look like tiny cocktail glasses! Overall we thought Holy Moly was a vibe and we will definitely include this in our 6th Ave rotation.

The food is my favorite part. I can have a beer anywhere, but the food is actually pretty on point minus the nachos, sad to say. The sandwiches are amazing, the quesadillas are amazing, have yet to make it there before breakfast ends but I'm betting it's probably pretty good. Staff are friendly, efficient, and do well on checking to make sure you're not waiting too long for service without being too bothersome.
