Awesome ambiance, tiny tables. As the bar in the only hotel in Innsmouth, it does the town credit. We didn't encounter any Deep Ones in our brief visit. We dialed in so that the hidden door could be opened and let us pass. This a great looking place hidden away in Stadium. The drinks menu is extensive and the galley menu looks great. Our party of three was seated at a two-top but that may have been because we accidentally made reservations for two and then emailed about a change. We ordered two Viking Fogcutters and a Miskatonic Mistake for drinking along with some focaccia and deviled eggs for munching. That pretty much fills the entire table. The drinks were great! The bread and eggs were very tasty. The focaccia was super fluffy and warm. We added three salmon chowders to eat after devouring the eggs and focaccia. The three large bowls barely fit on the table but we made it work. The chowder and biscuits were awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful (certainly not part of the Esoteric Order of Dagon). read more

Service was not good. We were seated first (before 3 other couples) and were the last to get water or to even be talked to regarding what we might be interested in drinking or eating. If this is a speakeasy, the owners may want to align their music. The music was from the mid 1940s. While I enjoy music from the 1940s, perhaps the owners could do some research on the speakeasy time period (1920-1933). Listening to other people ordering, the restaurant also didn't have the food for several options - they "ran out" the night before on potatoes (hint: you can get potatoes fairly easy). We had salmon cakes, which tasted like they were cooked in hamburger grease The drinks were small (or filled with ice) for the cost. Good idea, poor implementation. read more

Gilman House was a completely random find. The place we were going to go had a screaming baby so I noped out of there right quick and went back to the drawing board. Gilman House was suggested - he doesn't really know anything about it other than it exists. No menu on Yelp, but I'm seeing several veggie dishes so yeah, we can most definitely make this place work. When we got there we were originally told that this establishment is reservation only, but she went to talk to someone (it was her first day) and we were shown a table. Yay for that! Still not sure if the whole place is usually reservation only and we just got lucky or not, so calling ahead might be a good idea. I really like the décor; kinda reminds me of an eclectic lady's parlor or something. Very, very thick smell of a strong cologne. At first I thought some overly zealous guy had walked through recently, but it seemed to stay the entire time I was there so I don't know about that one. This is a place where you're seated by the hostess and use your phone to pull up the menu and then walk up to the bar to order and from there they have table service. Very confusing, but I digress. I went with a Kamikaze and a Bed and Breakfast Biscuit with cheddar. Love that they have Impossible products here! And veggie biscuits & gravy!? Shut the front door! Definitely would have gotten that if I were hungrier. Last-minute Brunch date with my Bestfriend. The Gilman House has been on my radar for a while now. So because we did not have a reservation the host was trying to find seating for us and thankfully he did and was able to fit us in last minute. So I like this place you sit down and you get a chance to look at the menu and whenever you're ready to order you're able to go to the bar and place your order. You can either leave a tab open or you can just pay for everything there. So while we wait we had a couple of drinks. It didn't take long for the food to come out. It was really good I will say the pancakes were the best for me. I also had the vegetable bowl but I wasn't quite a fan of it like I should've got something else. My husband and I snuggled on a comfy little loveseat covered in faux sheepskin rugs, sharing cocktails, conversation, and delicious foods. Good chill music playing and flattering warm light. We had a great time at Gilman House yesterday. We stopped in at 5:00, right when they opened, and were immediately seated. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I had the roasted veggie sandwich and my partner had the bellhop burger. Their burger buns are spectacular! They kind of look like a brioche bun, but a thousand times better and not greasy. The side salads were really good. Not just a pile of lettuce, but all kinds of goodies. Our food was delicious! I love that there are so many vegetarian items here. I can't wait to go back and try everything I can eat. The decor is super cool and funky. The seats and benches are plush and comfortable. The drinks are pricey, but really tasty. I would absolutely love it if they had brunch on Saturdays. I really want to try the biscuits and gravy! I would definitely suggest people check this place out. Tried the Gilman House for brunch on a Sunday. I had the caprese frittata with a pancake on the side. My friend had the biscuits and gravy and added scrambled eggs. My frittata was great! It felt fresh and healthy with a large dollop of fresh cheese that I thought was mozzarella, but I don't think it was.. either way it tasted great. It had a small salad of arugula on the side. I thought the dish was perfect. The pancake was unbelievable! I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. I'm not sure exactly why it was so good, a combo of a few things I guess, the oats sprinkled on, the syrup, what ever the magical combo was it was perfect. I honestly can't wait to get back there to have another pancake! My friends biscuits and gravy were also very good, again.. I'm not sure what it was about the biscuit that made it so good but it was better than your typical biscuit, the gravy was also very good!! The scrambled eggs he has added were perfectly cooked IMO, however he doesn't like a softer egg, he wished it was cooked so the egg is a little harder, but I love a nice soft fluffy egg so I thought they nailed it! A couple next to us ordered a large cinnamon roll that was as large as a dinner plate and looked about 7" deep covered in frosting. I asked the bartender about it, she said they're available smaller.. so I plan on trying one next time. In addition to the elevated perfect food is the atmosphere. It has a hip, casual, cozy and slightly fancy vibe that I just love. These are the kinds of places I search for when I research places to try and The Gilman House checked all the boxes. Atmosphere, great elevated yet casual food and reasonable prices... they have a lot of fancy looking drinks, however if you add a couple of those it will basically double even triple your bill. Terrible service today. Got there at opening just to be told that we have wait 75 minutes to get seated. That was fine for the most part but what was disappointing is the wait time. After waiting for a hour we were told that our food was now just getting on the grill. In addition then we were told that some of the items we ordered weren't available. After waiting over two hours and not getting the items ordered we were pretty disappointed in the service today after having a pleasant one a few weeks ago. Idk what all the rave reviews are for, service is no where to be found, food is mediocre at best and takes over an hour for pancakes or biscuits and gravy. Reservations are not needed as they have no idea that you've made reservations. Their saving grace are their drinks but other than that there are better restaurants in the Tacoma area.
