Let me tell you now this is my husband and I favorite restaurant for soul food Sunday dinner was so yummy and delicious the fish we ordered was so golden and just melt in your mouth and yams was good too. They also cater food. Excellent Service and very sweet people. Go and tried them and let me know what you think.

    Yummy fish sandwich.

I have never left a review but this place is a hidden gem. Historic Gillespie Park golf course, really nice people and a huge, delicious fish sandwich. It's not fancy but pretty darn good. The burger was good but the fish was certainly the highlight. If you want to support small business and eat local, here's a place for you.

Burger was missing lettuce (easy fix) he said his steak was cooked PERFECTLY (still no silverware) I requested more mayo and more dressing (still no silverware) we realized there wasn't any silverware when he wanted to cut into the steak. So we had to request silverware. Back to the steak.... Cooked PERFECTLY..... zero seasoning. Added a little salt and requested steak sauce and the steak was demolished. My wales saw my water getting low and said she was coming with more water. I finished my water she came by and asked if we needed anything.... Water please. With a few adjustments to the obvious (having silverware at the table when seating customers, and keeping a real eye out for drinks) this place might be alright. The servers were pleasant and the place wasn't crowded at all. A total of 4 other parties were in and out during our visit.

It's after church and it's quite busy, but the service was less than stellar (maybe it's always this way???---I just happen to bypass it by ordering online) and with MS. JESSICA at the helm, I understand why.... Jessica is very abrasive. She is pushy, condescending and her Customer Service requires some much needed attention, especially if she is a manager. Now my food... My food had a distasteful appearance and I'm not even going to eat it. I'm going to have to order food from somewhere else because it looks like nothing I am accustomed to from McAlister's---Huge disappointment as I have been wanting this for DAYS and today was my day. My husband and I were in downtown Greensboro on a Saturday afternoon and decided to hit this place up for lunch. When they called the place The Bodega, they really mean it's a bodega. It's decked out like a small convenience store from the second you walk in. We ordered our food at the cash register to eat at one of their tables outside. The cashier brought our sandwiches out about 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered the Turkey Caesar. It had turkey, shaved parmesan, marinated cherry tomato, house-made Caesar dressing, onion, and romaine lettuce in an 8" sandwich roll. It was a little pricey at $15, but it was worth the splurge. The dressing and parmesan cheese were unbelievable! Since this is in downtown Greensboro, there is no dedicated parking lot but we easily found street parking nearby. The place has a few tables outside for customers to enjoy their food. If you're looking for a good sandwich, I highly recommend checking The Bodega out.

I don't leave many reviews but after multiple top tier meals which are fresh, full of flavor, and worth praising I decided to leave one. We really enjoy the variety and find it all fairly priced. An order of brussels easily feeds four but they've got it as a side; as well as mac n cheese and garlic/ parm broccoli and we really liked them all. You won't be disappointed.

Their cocktail menu is clutch and the strawberry spritz cocktail I ordered was perfect for summer. My husband got the salmon wrap and I got the French dip panini and my sandwich was craveable. I'd tell myself I was finished and would find myself going back in for "one more bite". My husband also loved his wrap as a healthier option. Not to mention this spot is super kid friendly. We are going to try not to sleep on melt in the future and we recommend this spot to anyone who wants a casual, yummy dinner.

They offer a great variety of sandwiches, both hot and cold, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, and salads. All items come with chips, fries, pasta salad, potato salad or baked beans. I went with their steak and cheese, with fries and it hit just right! The sandwich was a good size, but the fries is where they get real generous! The steak and cheese was great, as was the mountain of fries, nice crunch on the outside, and soft inside. Their fries are definitely noteworthy, I've never had this style anywhere else before, they're an odd hybrid between a potato chip and a French fry, but I really enjoyed them. Prices were very fair, they charge a little bit more for credit card use, but not much at all. The cashier was friendly, we placed our orders at the counter, and they'll call out your name when it's ready. For lunch on a Friday, I was impressed how quickly they were turning orders out. The interior is very spacious, providing plenty of seating, though a bit dated with it's checkerboard floor, it's got a bit of a nostalgic 50's diner feel. Overall, it was a great visit, and somewhere i'll surely be going back to again soon!! One other noteworthy thing, this is one of the few places I've been to in a long time that doesn't try to pressure you into a tip for your order, which I appreciated! Go check them out, support a true Greensboro institution!

Today I also had the Zanwhich, which is pepperoni, pastrami, provolone and mustard on rye. They grilled it so it was like an Italian grilled cheese. I really liked it!!! The employees were kind and got the food out within a reasonable time. The interior has that classic diner feel with the colorful chairs and checkered floor. I ordered the Madison Avenue which is a croissant smeared with honey walnut cream cheese, smoked turkey, and granny smith apples. My side was slaw and I also ordered fries with a side of ranch. Upon walking in the place appeared clean, the customer service, not the best. But maybe someone was having a bad day, I get it. I'm so glad I did check my bag before I left because they did not give me ranch or plasticware, man I would have missed out on some amazing ranch. The young man gave me three ranches which I'm so disappointed I only grabbed one. Unfortunately I didn't get the best pictures but the food tasted great. The fries were thick cut (probably frozen) and let me tell you, I would just come back for the ranch! They have my favorite restaurant ranch. The slaw was really tasty - good ole southern sweet mayonnaise slaw, not too vinegary. The sandwich, not bad, good combo of toppings, they paired well together. I' ll be back. Anyone want to go for a patio lunch? Ciao for now
