Even though it's been around for years, this was only my second time visiting, and I'm glad we did! We started with the bread and homemade marinara dipping sauce--seasoned with the bartender's own flair. It was so good we wanted more! We also ordered the calamari which was cooked perfectly. We also ordered dirty martinis with extra olives and an espresso martini--both were fabulous. For entrées, we had the Cajun chicken pasta (you can choose a spice level from 1 to 5), the scallop pasta, and the pan-seared salmon. You can swap in spaghetti squash as a healthier option--we did with the salmon and loved it. The Cajun chicken was tender and moist; we ordered spice level 2, but it was closer to a level 4 (heads up for non-spicy food lovers!). The scallop dish was tasty, but the scallops were a bit small and overcooked. Same with the salmon--flavorful but just a touch overdone. We let them know it was my birthday, and they surprised us with a complimentary dessert--similar to a chocolate lava cake with whipped cream, and it was delicious! Kaitlyn, our server, was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Stacey, the bartender, made excellent drinks and really added to our experience. They both helped make the evening feel special. There are other dishes we'd love to come back and try. Overall, I'd give Café Pasta a solid 3.5 stars--mainly due to the scallops and salmon being slightly off--but the atmosphere was romantic and unique, and the service was top-notch. We will be returning to try more dishes!

Holiday luncheon with coworkers and they selected Cafe Pasta. It was 8 of us with prior reservation, when we arrived we were given a choice of seating area, which was great! Once seated, we were able to order right. Everyone enjoy their various dishes. It's a nice vibe at Cafe Pasta.

Every time I go to Café Pasta, I'm reminded why I keep coming back--it never disappoints. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and the restaurant itself has such a unique charm with its cozy lights and creative layout. My go-to order is the Cajun pasta with the creamy sauce--absolutely packed with flavor and loaded with chicken, shrimp, and sausage. This time, I finally tried their chocolate espresso martini (can't believe I waited this long), and it was phenomenal. Think decadent dessert in a glass--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. A must-try if you haven't already

A few friends went for a mid day lunch around 1:30. We had called the day before to make a reservation for 4 and when we got there, the reservation only had two people. They were able to seat us immediately so that wasn't really a big deal. They have three levels of seating, and although it's pretty dark, there was enough light to set a nice vibe. There was only one server/bartender in the establishment at the time, but there might have been 6 other people so we were still greeted and served promptly. We were a bit disappointed that no appetizers were offered during lunch. We didn't know that beforehand and were looking forward to trying some of the items we saw on Yelp reviews. We did receive bread and butter. The drinks were all pretty good. We got a couple lemon drops and dirty martinis. The food was absolutely the star of the show. I chose the lasagna. It was a bit sweet, but tasty. One friend ordered shrimp tortellini Alfredo and received salmon instead of shrimp, but that was actually a great mistake because it was sooo flavorful. The other two ordered the linguini and both loved it. We didn't finish our meals because the portions were large. But we were all thrilled to have leftovers. I look forward to going back at dinner time and trying appetizers and desserts that were not available during lunch

It's been a while since I had eaten at Cafe Pasta. I've used them numerous times for catering at work; it's always on time, hot, plentiful, & delicious. Today, I enjoyed a very fulfilling lunch. Although the item I ordered didn't look like the image from the online menu, it tasted even better! The lemon chicken came with sautéed veggies, on top of my salad! If I had known that, I would've just ordered the chicken.!! It was so flavorful, and with the homemade balsamic dressing...mmmm! Speaking of homemade, Ray's mom makes the desserts! The Tiramisu didn't disappoint!! It was so light and the perfect portion. I am already planning & looking forward to my next visit. My husband threw me a FANTASTIC & memorable surprise 40th birthday party for me here!!! The decor is so nice with the lighting and music. (Not gonna say how long ago) It's a great spot for romantic meals, casual meals, corporate meals, or any type of gathering. Thank you Ray Essa for always being as consistent as family

I don't know who is eating here and giving rave reviews. I thought it had shut down until I ran into the owner (maybe) some months back. He recommended that I come dine in sometime. I eventually did and was disappointed from the start. The atmosphere had a weird vibe. Decor from the early 2000s. The bartender greeted me but the rest of the service was just off. I ordered the crab cake appetizer. It had a weird pickled taste, similar to deviled crab but more fermented. The bread, while warm, was extremely pale! I wondered it if had even been baked. I ordered tortellini with salmon as my entree. The only saving grace for the entire meal was the salmon. The pasta sauce was very watery and lacked any real flavor. I even ordered a glass of wine which I couldn't finish. The "owner" was on site that evening but very preoccupied with a woman at the bar. I saw other reviews referencing indifferent interactions and I can see why they felt like that. I'm glad to have checked this place off my list.

Hidden gem of Greensboro. Amazing Italian cuisine w/ extensive bar menu and laid back atmosphere. The Calamari app was delicious!! Staff is great, very attentive & knowledgeable about the menu. Avg cost for a family of 4 with drinks & 1 app was $25 per person but big enough portions to bring home for a 2nd meal

I found my way back to Cafe Pasta... and I was so impressed!! We started with the Spinach dip appetizer and from the first bite I knew I was in for a good meal. The pita chips are fresh, crispy and seasoned well... I could've enjoyed those all by themself. The spinach dip was creamy, cheesy and garlicky. A great combination. For the main dish I had the lasagna. It was a generous portion and tasted so fresh! The pasta, Parmesan shavings, meat and sauce all went so well together. It tasted like home cooking... but better! Although we were stuffed, I love white chocolate and had to try the White Chocolate Mousse. I was naively thinking it would be like TCBY frozen yogurt, it was not that. However, it was delicious. Like a thicker smooth pudding consistency and a perfect white chocolate flavor. Very refreshing after a heavy meal. The staff were wonderful and attentive. With plenty of TVs, a full bar, and different areas of seating for privacy it truly has the ability to meet any needs. Parties, dates, bar convos, friends, family... I'll definitely be back for more!

When you first walk up to the door, you don't think nothing of it but when you go inside, it is very pretty beautiful. Love the energy vibe. The food was amazing. Like I will be going again my server Chloe was amazing. I love how she gave extra time we needed it. She didn't continue to keep coming back like every minute. She spaced it out so that was perfect. because I'm very indecisive she saw my daughter getting overly energetic and offered to bring bread over and that was a nice thing cause that settled her down. The bread is amazing. Came out very hot. I had the salmon with the red crisp potatoes my mom had the Cajun shrimp pasta and when I say amazing it was perfect. and they do have a kids menu my child had the flatbread cheese pizza. The prices are not expensive our bill came up to 54 dollars with tax

A stop at Cafe Pasta on State Street for a light dinner was a delightful experience. From the interior white lights making it feel like you were dining al fresco under a starry night, to the accommodating staff and of course the delicious food thisrestaurant is a place the I just have to come back to try more entrees. I had a cup of delicious Italian wedding soup and a tasty caprese salad because I had eaten a big lunch. The next time I come I want to order a big cheesy pasta entree! And, thank you to the staff for making me feel so welcome's and special.

By the time I left around 6, there were people standing and waiting to be seated. The patio was open with one couple enjoying the nice weather and relative quiet of outdoors. Embur recently relocated to Smyres Place in Greensboro and the new space feels much smaller than I expected. The design reminded me of what I imagine a modern restaurant in Peru might look like. Industrial with solid wood floors, warm finishes, and a large wine display. There are around 25 to 26 tables, mostly two tops and four tops. The largest table seats six, but they will push tables together for larger groups. While I was there, a group of more than 20 came in celebrating something and they were seated quickly without disrupting the rest of the room. The small patio has outdoor seating with about 8 tables and a they have bar area with about nine comfortable seats. The menu took me a minute to understand but I ended up liking the setup. You choose your entrée, which comes with set ingredients, and then choose your protein. Each protein has a different price, so you can control the cost of your meal somewhat. Most menu items can also be made gluten free according to the menu, and vegetarian options seem easy to do. For my appetizer, I ordered the flatbread. Perfection. Rosemary, olive oil, sea salt. Crispy outside, soft inside, and so flavorful I almost ate the whole thing before my meal was served. The server came with water right away and remain attentive but not intrusive the whole time. For my entree, I ordered the Arroz Chaufa with salmon. Arroz Chaufa literally means fried rice. At first the dish seemed a bit salty to me, but once I added the green sauce that comes with it (served on the side), everything balanced out. The green sauce has very mild heat, so if you are not a fan of spicy food, that is the one I would recommend. There is a list of sauces so I assume you can customize your entree. According to my server, the other sauces bring more heat. The salmon was excellent, well seasoned but not too much, and moist. The portion was ample. I was very hungry but I had leftovers to bring home. Service was exactly what I want when dining alone. Attentive without being intrusive. I watched Netflix while I ate and enjoyed my meal without feeling rushed or bothered. The noise level is average for a busy small restaurant. Comfortable enough to relax, but if you want to talk to someone in your group a couple of seats away, you will need your outside voice. This place feels upscale without being fussy, so expected to pay more than average, but I thought it was good value for the quality and portions. I loved this restaurant and will absolutely go back. Must order: Rosemary flatbread appetizer. Tip: Ask about sauce heat before ordering. If you do not like spicy food, start with the green sauce.

I came here to write, in short, that the food was great and the service was awful. Which is funny,…read morebecause it turns out I wrote nearly the exact opposite of that almost a year ago. Who knew a corporate chain could have such variation. On my most recent visit, we were seated immediately, but sat for around 15 minutes before anyone spoke to us at all. Right when we were about to get up and walk out, we saw the manager flag down someone, who turned out not to be our server, but got our drink orders. Interesting approach... I was surprised he would rather pull someone off their section than take our drinks himself. I guess he was too busy hovering near the host stand, watching everyone. We got our drinks very promptly after ordering, but it was a little while longer before our server came by to take our food orders. She was lovely, and very apologetic about the wait. She was clearly doing her best, but had multiple HUGE parties that ate up most of her time. I watched her run around all night. She never stopped moving, yet there were huge delays in our service, and we had several drinks-empty-out-of-bread-no-food moments. We got our appetizer around 30 minutes after arriving. While we sat idle, with no food or drink, we had plenty of time to people-watch. And we observed many other parties having similar issues to us. The table behind us, who had a different, equally busy server, had to get up and walk to the bar or host stand several times to ask for things like drink refills, napkins, etc. Mind you, our tables were literally right next to the host stand, and by extension, by the manager who hovered there the whole time. I understand that management does, obviously, involve managing. So, sometimes managers do need to supervise and coach their staff. However, part of being a leader is jumping in when needed. Which this guy clearly had no interest in doing. I can't fathom why you would ever choose to hunt down another, uninvolved staff member, to do something that would take you all of 30 seconds to do yourself. He also never actually spoke to us directly, despite clearly seeing our delays in service. A far cry from the many restaurants whose managers circle the dining room checking on every guest at least once. Oh and there was a green, hair-like object (Dyed hair? Thin plastic thread?) in my chicken. Our waitress had the dish replaced promptly, but, it really should not happen to start with. We also were served a basket of still-frozen-inside bread once. Not so fresh baked, I guess. Other than the hair and the (ice) cold bread, the food was great. I do really like the Carrabba's menu in general. However, this location continues to disappoint. I doubt I'll make the mistake of coming here a 3rd time.

In the past, I have had the lunch specials during the week which are good, filling, and a great value. Today we came by for an early Saturday dinner. My husband got the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I tasted it and was a little jealous that I hadn't ordered it myself. I got the pasta with filet and shrimp. I ate and ate but it didn't look like I had touched my food. The pasta was a white sauce, which sometimes is kind of one note but this was quite tasty. The steak and shrimp were both perfectly cooked. We both agree that the Caesar salad at Carrabbas is the best.
