I don't care what these reviews say, this place is possibly the best food I have ever had. I got the special beef tenderloin medallions. Best dish I've eaten in my life. Service was amazing, dinner was cheap and portions were just right to fill you up but not waste food or make you feel sick. The cake was fantastic and the scenery inside was very modern and elegant. If I could live in the back of this restaurant and eat all of their food I would. If you are in the area or 8 hours away like me, it is worth the drive. Would recommend this restaurant and I have not a little thing to say bad about this place! read more

Pastabilities is the kinda place you go to when you want good quality, flavorful food. It's been a while since I've been here, but it's always good. There is a reason they have a line most nights. Not only is the food really good, so is the service. The calamari was crispy and salty, the roast beef sandwich was delicious. read more

Pastabilities has pasta dishes and much more. I use to go quite often but then the portion sizes decreased, for to-go orders, and I don't like when restaurants do that, especially with charging the same price. It's all put in a little black bowl, for to-go orders. You will probably get more if you ate inside but I don't choose to eat inside. The ambiance inside is pretty dark for me. Not much lighting and dark colors. I would like the portion size of to -go orders to increase, but that probably will not happen, so I will continue to pop in here at least once a year when near the Battleground area. read more

I enjoy Pastabilities and often call ahead and use their quick and friendly pickup conveniently on the side of the restaurant. They do a great job of packing up the food so it stays fresh until you get home and you always get a roll as well. My only critique is that it's not always consistent. Sometimes it's not as good as others and can tend to be a little salty. Overall I still recommend. read more

Great local place with the best homemade soups to be found. The soups change daily and all are excellent. The sandwiches are good . The hot hammy is a fav and the roast beef is also good. The flatbreads are wonderful the meat stack with meat sauce, sausage, and pepperoni is very good. We had the fried green beans and would not get those again, not crisp but a good sauce. The meatball sub was ok. A great place with good service and many choices on the menu. It's cozy and welcoming atmosphere. read more

Pastabilities continues to be a great local spot.as the name indicates they have a pasta centric menu but I have found their soups and specials to be excellent. Tonight I had the filet medallions with a peppercorn sauce and it was excellent! Started the meal with a chicken and wild rice soup and ended with key lime pie. Cindy, the owner did her thing with this salad!! The marinated fresh tomatoes------OMGOSH!! The marinated chicken strips were VERY tender. You'll find this restaurant nestled on Battleground between Moe's and 1618. I'm glad I stumbled upon it and hate that I've been in the area so long and haven't visited. You seat yourself and someone comes over to your table to help. My waitress was super attentive and helpful even though the dining room quickly filled up. Food was AMAZING! Everything was fresh, hot, and flavorful. There's so many options on the menu, it was hard to settle on one thing. I will definitely visit again! read more

I was happy to have a cozy seat in the nook near the front for my husband and son's birthday celebration but between a wobbly table (causing spilled drinks), a server that we couldn't ever seem to catch (perhaps we were covered by a cloak of invisibility), and the food that looked better than it tasted (cold, flavorless noodles are never good), we were just disappointed. read more

We love this place because they deliver directly from the restaurant and you don't have to use a third party delivery service. The food is also good- we love the Nutty artist salad- the sundried tomatoes, pine nuts and artichokes are a perfect combination. I recently discovered the Smothered Burger and let me tell you- it was DELICIOUS! Had a great charred flavor- one of the best burgers in Greensboro in my book! My husband always gets the Big Easy. I have found their marinara to be a little bland- needs more acid and herbs- seems to be watery. Their desserts are also AMAZING!! The dining in atmosphere is nice- casual and relaxed but nicer than a dive. Overall- highly recommend due to their excellent delivery service. read more

Stopped in here for diner over the weekend. I think I had been here before, but the interior wasn't familiar at all. It was a little odd, and felt more like a wine shop with a few tables scattered about. We showed up on the late side, maybe 820, so it wasn't too busy, and we were instructed to sit wherever we wanted and they brought us menus. I was surprised by the prices being so reasonable. The food came out quickly. And the portions were a little on the smaller side, which made the pricing make more sense. The food was ok, I went with the lasagna, but kind of felt like it lacked flavor. It filled me up, but it was just lacking soemthing. It also came with a side salad, which seemed a bit dingy. I don't like to speak badly about any business, and maybe it's exactly what someone else is looking for, but it will probably be a while before I revisit this spot read more

What can I say? I love this place. Sometimes you will have to wait a while to get a table but it's so worth it in the end. The staff here are amazing as well as the food. From the Chicken Parmesan to the lasagna there's nothing to complain about. It does get a little loud inside as it is a small building but I would expect nothing less from an Italian restaurant. If I had to categorize Pastabilities I would say casual upscale. I have never been disappointed here. read more

I had a lovely dinner here last night. We had gotten in the rut of going to the Olive Garden, even though neither of us like it very much. So, we challenges ourselves to branch out and try something new! I'm so glad we did, because we had a delicious meal and service was fantastic. We went on a busy Friday night and the wait was 50 mins. It wasn't a problem at all, since there was a little dive bar (Speakeasy Tavern) in the same plaza. We went over there and had drinks until they called us to tell us our table was ready. In spite of there being hoards of people waiting, the restaurant had a spacious feel and the tables weren't cramped at all. I got the Orange Blossom cocktails and really enjoyed the zingy drink and beautiful presentation. For my meal, I got the Italian Flag. It was a perfect vegetarian option. The pesto, pine nuts, and sun dried tomato combo was great. With a hearty portion, I had some to take home as well. For dessert I got the tiramisu. The waitress explained to us that they source their desserts from an elderly Italian woman. It was really delicious accompanied by the Fuzzy Duck (spiked cappuccino). Our meal was surprisingly affordable and I felt like it was a perfect date night spot. I'll definitely be back! read more

Pastabilities - Chicken parmigiana with a side of meatballs - Italian Near Me - Greensboro, North Carolina

How this place could have 4 stars is a mystery. It was probably the worst Italian dish I've had in Greensboro so far. I was by myself so I initially sat at the bar, but then moved to a table because the bar was so high! I should have measured it, but it was too high for me to eat and not feel like a goofball in a high chair. I always order chicken parmigiana at a new Italian restaurant because, for me, that's the baseline for a good Italian restaurant. I didn't see spaghetti anywhere on the menu (strange for a restaurant called "Pastabilities"; spaghetti is not possible?). The young waitress with short bleached hair said to me "Our linguini is spaghetti." Riiiiight. I'll just let that one go. I also noticed that she was much friendlier to other guests. When I asked for things (I had to ask for silverware when she delivered my salad), she wouldn't acknowledge my request. She would just turn around like I was a terrible inconvenience in her day and come back eventually with whatever it was that I needed. I'll let ya'll figure that one out. The food was just horrible. The marinara sauce had all the excitement of a tomato sauce straight out of a can (with no herbs or spices whatsoever), so I couldn't complain that there wasn't enough of it. To make matters worse, I'm pretty sure the chicken was FROZEN chicken tenders! If you look closely, one of them is even darker than the others, a clue that they weren't even fried together...one of them was probably sitting for a while before they decided to put it on my plate with the other two. My goodness - I was ashamed for them. I took the majority of it home and tried to salvage it with my favorite marina, but it was a total loss at that point. On a positive note, the bread rolls and butter are fantastic. If I ever go in there again, it'll be JUST for the rolls. read more

From the outside the restaurant doesn't look like much but once inside you see the charm. The food was fantastic (asked recommendation from waitress and she did not steer me wrong!). The service and atmosphere at Pastabilities has always been a 5 star experience. However, I must give the food itself 4 stars because, while many menu items are fantastic, there is 1/10 chance that your chosen dish will miss the mark. Not to say that the 10% dish is bad, it just doesn't match up to the quality of the other dishes. I would recommend the saucy based dishes over the oil based dishes and I must also say that of the many dishes I've tried here, the Hewey Louie and Andouille (although has a very interesting name) was my first miss. I would personally not recommend this particular one. However, the Parmesan Chicken Specialty dish was quite yummy. The chicken remained crisp and was quite aesthetically pleasing. And yet the servers are always so kind patient and fantastic, so a Pastabilities visit is always great :) Service 5 stars, Atmosphere 5 stars, Food 4 stars, overall a 5 star experience. read more

Our recent visit was a little underwhelming. We haven't had a lot of chances to visit because the hours seem to be a little hit and miss for our schedule, however we used to be big fans and continue to hear great things. Despite that, our most recent visit was very bland - it seemed like the food, the drinks, the service, and the clientele were all aimed at boomers and the older crowd which is odd for a Greensboro restaurant, this town normally seems to be very diverse in all aspects including age. read more

Not too bad of a place for the atmosphere and service you get. Everyone that works here is very friendly. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot to be able to come with a date or a large group of people. You're able to sit where you'd like and get service immediately at your table. They have a nice wine selection to choose from as well as specials they offer. The food is what is a flop for me though. I've gone here a few times with a large group of people and have gotten the same feedback each time from everyone as well as what I thought of it myself. The food is pretty bland and doesn't have much flavor or seasoning to it. Between the variety of dishes we all had, every dish tasted the same. The desserts taste like something out of a box or store bought with a drizzle of Hershey's chocolate over them. Overall disappointed and hope that it turns up for them since they're a local spot. During busier times it's easier to have the specials printed out in the menu instead of having to try to read the board across the room as well. I'm not sure if I will return here or bring others here anymore from trying them out a few times. read more

I got the eggplant parm with linguine to go. The people were very nice and the restaurant was very cute with a nice vibe, but I did not care for the eggplant, it was a bit rubbery, and the linguine with marinara sauce did not have much flavor. read more

I recently visited Pastabilities, a cozy Italian spot tucked away in Greensboro, and was thoroughly impressed. Food & Menu: The menu is refreshingly simple yet packed with various delicious pasta dishes, house-made sauces, and classic Italian specialties. I opted for the fettuccine alfredo, which was perfectly creamy without being overly rich. Service: The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. Ambiance: The atmosphere strikes an outstanding balance between casual and intimate. It's perfect for a laid-back dinner with friends or a cozy date night. The decor leans toward a rustic, family-owned vibe, with warm lighting and simple yet tasteful touches that make it feel authentic and inviting. Value: Portion sizes are generous without being overwhelming, and prices are reasonable for food quality. It's where you feel you've received good value, especially given the fresh ingredients and quality of homemade pasta. Pro Tips: If you visit, try the garlic knots--they're soft and buttery and come with a side of marinara so good you'll want to take some home. Also, don't skip dessert; the tiramisu is a perfect, not-too-sweet end to the meal. Pastabilities is a delightful, down-to-earth Italian eatery that prioritizes flavor and customer experience. read more

It's a small and cozy place over at battleground rd. Went there for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The overall ambience is pretty casual, and the place was buzzing all through. We got a side table for our family, and tried the light beer initially, which was citrusy and ok. The kids had the spaghetti and meatball and the pizza, and they ate happily. I tried the rainbow chicken, and it was good. We also ordered a bottle of Cabernet (Block and Tackle), and it was pretty smooth. The food price is also pretty decent unlike other Italian places, and the service was pretty quick and friendly. Thumbs Up! read more

Huge THANK YOU to this awesome staff!!! After two days sitting in a hospital room with my mother, these folks delivered an amazing meal. They went beyond the call of service. Visiting my sister while in town, we wanted to stop here to try this place out. We ordered our appetizer of mozzarella cheese wedges (I would recommend, they were good). Our server, London , was very nice and cheap cokes up on us multiple times to make sure everything was good , great service! We had some very good wine. My parents and sister said their food was , good, but nothing special. I can't for the life of me remember the name of dish I ordered, but It was chicken with andouille sausage with linguine in a spicy olive oil, and it was not good at all. I had everyone at the table taste this also , because there was no taste, at all, and just full of oil. The chicken tasted like they boiled it in water, would highly not recommend. When we left around the whole place was fills up and had a nice warm atmosphere, when we initially arrived we were 1 of 2 tables that were there. If you want a quick drink with friends and a quick snack I would recommend this place, but the food overall was mediocre. Again I'm just trying to give areas of opportunity for this business, not trying to be negative. read more

Went in for dinner on a Saturday night and this place is obviously a locals favorite! The people kept coming, but they turn the tables, so we only had a 10 minute wait. Kudos for a pretty terrific menu. This isn't your average red sauce pizza joint. They have lots of variety and my favorite part was the build your own pasta dish - SO many choices. Hubby and I started with side salads. They don't have a Caesar, which was a disappointment to Hubby, but they do have a Caesar vinaigrette, which was really yummy. They make all of their dressings in house, and you can tell. I went with my usual favorite - blue cheese. While it was really tasty, I would have liked to have seen chunks of the cheese - it was smooth. The rolls are to die for! Warm, soft and comforting. More kudos for serving them with softened butter. The kid had linguine and meat sauce (they don't have spaghetti noodles), and there was lots of meat in the sauce. Hubby had manicotti - they don't bake it, so if you're expecting that melted blanket of cheese, you don't get it here. That took a bit away from the dish, because when you bake it, the sauce just soaks into those noodles. It wasn't his favorite. I built my own - linguine, olive oil, garlic, spinach, pine nuts and Parmesan. Fantastic! I will say, the portions are smaller than many red sauce places, but who can eat those giant bowls of pasta anyway? The size was perfect, especially with the salad and rolls. We didn't leave hungry, and we didn't leave uncomfortably stuffed. Like Goldie Locks - it was just right! Fast, friendly service and an efficient kitchen means we would definitely one back if in the area again. read more

Did you know that Pastabilities offers delivery (FREE to my area as within 3 miles of restaurant)? As my husband always says, can you imagine the Pastabilitites??? Delicious pasta and other yummy treats right to my door! We mixed it up and ordered an appetizer of the Mediterranean nachos (Fried Pita Chips topped with Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Olives, Scallions and Feta Cheese with our Tahini Sauce). I am always a little concerned when I get anything fried for take our or delivery, but I must say this dish traveled well. The pita chips were still nice and crispy when we dived in. Overall, I really liked the flavor combinations, not very heavy and worked well with the other more traditional Italian dishes we ordered. The hubby and I also shared The Nutty Artist Salad (Mixed Greens, Sundried Tomatoes, Artichoke Hearts, and Pine Nuts with our Tomato Basil Vinaigrette). This was my first time trying this salad and it was pretty good. I found the artichokes a bit clunky as they were so disproportionately large compared to the other ingredients. For my entrée. I had to get pasta and went with one of my standards the Chicken on the green pasta (Spinach Fettuccine, Chicken, Mushrooms and Sundried Tomatoes in a Pesto Cream Sauce, topped with Parmesan Cheese). Their pesto cream sauce is amazing. The pasta and other components are always cooked well. The dish comes with one of their decedent buttered roll. Hit the spot! We went all out and got dessert too. A slice of Key Lime Lie and Strawberry and Cream cheesecake. Both still looked great when you opened the box and we demolished both. But I would have to give the edge to the cheesecake. So creamy! Appreciate the extra effort of the dishes being labeled for easy distributing! read more

I'm always fascinated by restaurants that have been around forever that never move beyond my, "It was okay," or "I was disappointed." Unfortunately for me, Pastabilities is one of those restaurants. When my friend Roz wanted to meet for lunch I told her I would take her anywhere she wanted to go. This was her first inside dining experience since the pandemic began. Our first choice was booked and so when she mentioned Pastabilities, I figured it would not be too hard to get a table. pandemic or not. We walked in during lunch and the place was packed! People are definitely getting vaccinated and getting on with their lives and that felt very exciting and promising. Our waitress was lovely and very quickly brought us drinks, took our order and within just a few quick minutes my dish was in front of me. How did they prepare it so fast? It takes longer to get a shake at Cook Out? Maybe I don't get it or maybe I am ordering the wrong things? When I hear of pasta I think of Italian food. Whenever I have given this place another try I usually order something tomato based. So once again I ordered pasta with tomato sauce and chicken. I was so impressed that they not only had wheat pasta which is compatible with my Weight Watchers program, but I had more than one choice. This already put me in a good mood and made me hope that my opinion of Pastabilities would change. I hadn't been there in years. Then came my dish. Blah! Yes, there was plenty of wheat pasta but the chicken looked like it was processed chicken and the tomato sauce reminded me of my non-Italian neighbors in the Bronx who made spaghetti sauce out of ketchup and water. I ate it because I paid for it but the dish basically had no flavor at all. Roz seemed to enjoy her dish so I was happy for that. We had such a fun time catching up in person that I barely remember eating that bland meal. As is the case with most restaurants in Greensboro, our waitress was lovely, courteous and kept the refill drinks coming. The setting is nice, they have an attractive façade and it is pretty easy to park. I just wish I could figure out why everybody loves this place or maybe I need to give up on searching for an Italian tasting pasta meal and try something else. To be honest I'm not sure if I will be back to give it that chance. Like I said, I hate knocking local establishments because I take my hat off to them for staying open all these years but I just don't get it! read more
