I use to go quite often but then the portion sizes decreased, for to-go orders, and I don't like when restaurants do that, especially with charging the same price. It's all put in a little black bowl, for to-go orders. You will probably get more if you ate inside but I don't choose to eat inside. The ambiance inside is pretty dark for me. Not much lighting and dark colors. I would like the portion size of to -go orders to increase, but that probably will not happen, so I will continue to pop in here at least once a year when near the Battleground area. read more

I enjoy Pastabilities and often call ahead and use their quick and friendly pickup conveniently on the side of the restaurant. They do a great job of packing up the food so it stays fresh until you get home and you always get a roll as well. My only critique is that it's not always consistent. Great local place with the best homemade soups to be found. The soups change daily and all are excellent. The sandwiches are good . The hot hammy is a fav and the roast beef is also good. The flatbreads are wonderful the meat stack with meat sauce, sausage, and pepperoni is very good. We had the fried green beans and would not get those again, not crisp but a good sauce. The food is also good- we love the Nutty artist salad- the sundried tomatoes, pine nuts and artichokes are a perfect combination. I recently discovered the Smothered Burger and let me tell you- it was DELICIOUS! Had a great charred flavor- one of the best burgers in Greensboro in my book! My husband always gets the Big Easy. I have found their marinara to be a little bland- needs more acid and herbs- seems to be watery. Their desserts are also AMAZING!! Stopped in here for diner over the weekend. I think I had been here before, but the interior wasn't familiar at all. It was a little odd, and felt more like a wine shop with a few tables scattered about. We showed up on the late side, maybe 820, so it wasn't too busy, and we were instructed to sit wherever we wanted and they brought us menus. I was surprised by the prices being so reasonable. The food came out quickly. And the portions were a little on the smaller side, which made the pricing make more sense. The food was ok, I went with the lasagna, but kind of felt like it lacked flavor. It filled me up, but it was just lacking soemthing. It also came with a side salad, which seemed a bit dingy. From the Chicken Parmesan to the lasagna there's nothing to complain about. It does get a little loud inside as it is a small building but I would expect nothing less from an Italian restaurant. I had a lovely dinner here last night. We had gotten in the rut of going to the Olive Garden, even though neither of us like it very much. So, we challenges ourselves to branch out and try something new! I'm so glad we did, because we had a delicious meal and service was fantastic. We went on a busy Friday night and the wait was 50 mins. It wasn't a problem at all, since there was a little dive bar (Speakeasy Tavern) in the same plaza. We went over there and had drinks until they called us to tell us our table was ready. In spite of there being hoards of people waiting, the restaurant had a spacious feel and the tables weren't cramped at all. I got the Orange Blossom cocktails and really enjoyed the zingy drink and beautiful presentation. For my meal, I got the Italian Flag. It was a perfect vegetarian option. The pesto, pine nuts, and sun dried tomato combo was great. With a hearty portion, I had some to take home as well. For dessert I got the tiramisu. The waitress explained to us that they source their desserts from an elderly Italian woman. It was really delicious accompanied by the Fuzzy Duck (spiked cappuccino). How this place could have 4 stars is a mystery. It was probably the worst Italian dish I've had in Greensboro so far. I was by myself so I initially sat at the bar, but then moved to a table because the bar was so high! I should have measured it, but it was too high for me to eat and not feel like a goofball in a high chair. I always order chicken parmigiana at a new Italian restaurant because, for me, that's the baseline for a good Italian restaurant. I didn't see spaghetti anywhere on the menu (strange for a restaurant called "Pastabilities"; spaghetti is not possible?). The young waitress with short bleached hair said to me "Our linguini is spaghetti." Riiiiight. I'll just let that one go. I also noticed that she was much friendlier to other guests. When I asked for things (I had to ask for silverware when she delivered my salad), she wouldn't acknowledge my request. She would just turn around like I was a terrible inconvenience in her day and come back eventually with whatever it was that I needed. I'll let ya'll figure that one out. The food was just horrible. The marinara sauce had all the excitement of a tomato sauce straight out of a can (with no herbs or spices whatsoever), so I couldn't complain that there wasn't enough of it. To make matters worse, I'm pretty sure the chicken was FROZEN chicken tenders! If you look closely, one of them is even darker than the others, a clue that they weren't even fried together...one of them was probably sitting for a while before they decided to put it on my plate with the other two. My goodness - I was ashamed for them. I took the majority of it home and tried to salvage it with my favorite marina, but it was a total loss at that point. On a positive note, the bread rolls and butter are fantastic. If I ever go in there again, it'll be JUST for the rolls. read more

Our recent visit was a little underwhelming. We haven't had a lot of chances to visit because the hours seem to be a little hit and miss for our schedule, however we used to be big fans and continue to hear great things. Despite that, our most recent visit was very bland - it seemed like the food, the drinks, the service, and the clientele were all aimed at boomers and the older crowd which is odd for a Greensboro restaurant, this town normally seems to be very diverse in all aspects including age. read more

The service and atmosphere at Pastabilities has always been a 5 star experience. However, I must give the food itself 4 stars because, while many menu items are fantastic, there is 1/10 chance that your chosen dish will miss the mark. Not to say that the 10% dish is bad, it just doesn't match up to the quality of the other dishes. I would recommend the saucy based dishes over the oil based dishes and I must also say that of the many dishes I've tried here, the Hewey Louie and Andouille (although has a very interesting name) was my first miss. I would personally not recommend this particular one. However, the Parmesan Chicken Specialty dish was quite yummy. The chicken remained crisp and was quite aesthetically pleasing. And yet the servers are always so kind patient and fantastic, so a Pastabilities visit is always great :) Service 5 stars, Atmosphere 5 stars, Food 4 stars, overall a 5 star experience. read more

There's plenty of parking in the parking lot to be able to come with a date or a large group of people. You're able to sit where you'd like and get service immediately at your table. They have a nice wine selection to choose from as well as specials they offer. The food is what is a flop for me though. I've gone here a few times with a large group of people and have gotten the same feedback each time from everyone as well as what I thought of it myself. The food is pretty bland and doesn't have much flavor or seasoning to it. Between the variety of dishes we all had, every dish tasted the same. The desserts taste like something out of a box or store bought with a drizzle of Hershey's chocolate over them. Overall disappointed and hope that it turns up for them since they're a local spot. During busier times it's easier to have the specials printed out in the menu instead of having to try to read the board across the room as well. I'm not sure if I will return here or bring others here anymore from trying them out a few times. read more

Visiting my sister while in town, we wanted to stop here to try this place out. We ordered our appetizer of mozzarella cheese wedges (I would recommend, they were good). Our server, London , was very nice and cheap cokes up on us multiple times to make sure everything was good , great service! We had some very good wine. My parents and sister said their food was , good, but nothing special. I can't for the life of me remember the name of dish I ordered, but It was chicken with andouille sausage with linguine in a spicy olive oil, and it was not good at all. I had everyone at the table taste this also , because there was no taste, at all, and just full of oil. The chicken tasted like they boiled it in water, would highly not recommend. When we left around the whole place was fills up and had a nice warm atmosphere, when we initially arrived we were 1 of 2 tables that were there. If you want a quick drink with friends and a quick snack I would recommend this place, but the food overall was mediocre. It's a small and cozy place over at battleground rd. Went there for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The overall ambience is pretty casual, and the place was buzzing all through. We got a side table for our family, and tried the light beer initially, which was citrusy and ok. The kids had the spaghetti and meatball and the pizza, and they ate happily. I tried the rainbow chicken, and it was good. We also ordered a bottle of Cabernet (Block and Tackle), and it was pretty smooth. We stopped here on a whim to celebrate my kid's birthday. When asked what the wanted for dinner they said "pasta sounds good" so we started looking for a place that could accommodate gluten and dairy free and settled on Pastabilities - I'm so glad we did! Our server was sweet and attentive, and the interior was nice, even though it was a bit loud. We had an appetizer to share, 4 entrees, and no alcoholic drinks and left for under $100 with a nice tip.
