This place is small but mighty! Daughter had a carbonara, husband ordered a chicken pasta dish and I got the lasagna. My husband almost always orders lasagna when he has the opportunity and he was sorry he didn't this time. My lasagna was fantastic! He tried it and said the sauce was as close to his sweet Italian great grandma's as he has ever had - now, THAT'S a compliment! Seating is limited but worth the wait, staff is friendly and helpful, food portions are perfect! Desserts were tempting but we skipped this night. Next time for sure! read more

Went in for dinner on a Saturday night and this place is obviously a locals favorite! The people kept coming, but they turn the tables, so we only had a 10 minute wait. Kudos for a pretty terrific menu. This isn't your average red sauce pizza joint. They have lots of variety and my favorite part was the build your own pasta dish - SO many choices. Hubby and I started with side salads. They don't have a Caesar, which was a disappointment to Hubby, but they do have a Caesar vinaigrette, which was really yummy. They make all of their dressings in house, and you can tell. I went with my usual favorite - blue cheese. While it was really tasty, I would have liked to have seen chunks of the cheese - it was smooth. The rolls are to die for! Warm, soft and comforting. More kudos for serving them with softened butter. The kid had linguine and meat sauce (they don't have spaghetti noodles), and there was lots of meat in the sauce. Hubby had manicotti - they don't bake it, so if you're expecting that melted blanket of cheese, you don't get it here. That took a bit away from the dish, because when you bake it, the sauce just soaks into those noodles. It wasn't his favorite. I built my own - linguine, olive oil, garlic, spinach, pine nuts and Parmesan. Fantastic! I will say, the portions are smaller than many red sauce places, but who can eat those giant bowls of pasta anyway? The size was perfect, especially with the salad and rolls. Did you know that Pastabilities offers delivery (FREE to my area as within 3 miles of restaurant)? As my husband always says, can you imagine the Pastabilitites??? Delicious pasta and other yummy treats right to my door! We mixed it up and ordered an appetizer of the Mediterranean nachos (Fried Pita Chips topped with Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Olives, Scallions and Feta Cheese with our Tahini Sauce). I am always a little concerned when I get anything fried for take our or delivery, but I must say this dish traveled well. The pita chips were still nice and crispy when we dived in. Overall, I really liked the flavor combinations, not very heavy and worked well with the other more traditional Italian dishes we ordered. The hubby and I also shared The Nutty Artist Salad (Mixed Greens, Sundried Tomatoes, Artichoke Hearts, and Pine Nuts with our Tomato Basil Vinaigrette). This was my first time trying this salad and it was pretty good. I found the artichokes a bit clunky as they were so disproportionately large compared to the other ingredients. For my entrée. I had to get pasta and went with one of my standards the Chicken on the green pasta (Spinach Fettuccine, Chicken, Mushrooms and Sundried Tomatoes in a Pesto Cream Sauce, topped with Parmesan Cheese). Their pesto cream sauce is amazing. The pasta and other components are always cooked well. The dish comes with one of their decedent buttered roll. Hit the spot! We went all out and got dessert too. A slice of Key Lime Lie and Strawberry and Cream cheesecake. Both still looked great when you opened the box and we demolished both. But I would have to give the edge to the cheesecake. So creamy! I'm always fascinated by restaurants that have been around forever that never move beyond my, "It was okay," or "I was disappointed." Unfortunately for me, Pastabilities is one of those restaurants. When my friend Roz wanted to meet for lunch I told her I would take her anywhere she wanted to go. This was her first inside dining experience since the pandemic began. Our first choice was booked and so when she mentioned Pastabilities, I figured it would not be too hard to get a table. pandemic or not. We walked in during lunch and the place was packed! People are definitely getting vaccinated and getting on with their lives and that felt very exciting and promising. Our waitress was lovely and very quickly brought us drinks, took our order and within just a few quick minutes my dish was in front of me. How did they prepare it so fast? It takes longer to get a shake at Cook Out? Maybe I don't get it or maybe I am ordering the wrong things? When I hear of pasta I think of Italian food. Whenever I have given this place another try I usually order something tomato based. So once again I ordered pasta with tomato sauce and chicken. I was so impressed that they not only had wheat pasta which is compatible with my Weight Watchers program, but I had more than one choice. This already put me in a good mood and made me hope that my opinion of Pastabilities would change. I hadn't been there in years. Then came my dish. Blah! Yes, there was plenty of wheat pasta but the chicken looked like it was processed chicken and the tomato sauce reminded me of my non-Italian neighbors in the Bronx who made spaghetti sauce out of ketchup and water. I ate it because I paid for it but the dish basically had no flavor at all. Roz seemed to enjoy her dish so I was happy for that. We had such a fun time catching up in person that I barely remember eating that bland meal. As is the case with most restaurants in Greensboro, our waitress was lovely, courteous and kept the refill drinks coming. The setting is nice, they have an attractive façade and it is pretty easy to park. I just wish I could figure out why everybody loves this place or maybe I need to give up on searching for an Italian tasting pasta meal and try something else. To be honest I'm not sure if I will be back to give it that chance. Felt like she was more than happy that we were ordering from them (mean this in a good way). Order: -Chicken on the Green: Spinach Fettuccine, Chicken, Mushrooms and Sundried Tomatoes in a Pesto Cream Sauce, topped with Parmesan Cheese -Linguine in Mama's meat sauce w/meatballs & spicy spice seasoning. (Build your own) -Two bread rolls (came with entree) Most of the time I like going off menu and building my own pasta. The linguine was nice...not al dente, but close (definitely not overcooked). The mama's meat sauce didn't skimp on the meat and I love it when you really taste the tomatoes in the sauce. Meatballs tasted like they were made that day (if they pre-froze, I couldn't tell)....super flavorful. My GF ordered the "Chicken On the Green" and loved it. I had a few bites myself and can concur it was really good. The pesto cream sauce was perfectly creamy and flavorful. Chicken was grilled so that's a plus. A couple of friends and I ventured to Pastabilities for the first time. Walking in, I admired the setup and the wine wall. I ordered a Cabernet Sauvinon (can't remember which one), but it was good. I also ordered the Wedge salad and added on the salmon. Both were delicious, however, there weren't enough onions and cheese on the salad to my liking. One girlfriend ordered the Wedge salad and grilled chicken. Her grilled chicken was very dry, but she enjoyed the salad. Pastabilities did us a solid on Valentine's Day when our plans at 1618 failed (we have kids and they reserved a high-top table for us... plus, nothing kid-friendly on the menu). The apps and adult drinks were good. I loved the focaccia and bread service. The pasta... well, I'm half-Sicilian and picky about my Italian food. I'm not impressed if it isn't better than I can make at home. I got the cacciatore and it was like eating at Fazoli's takeout or John's incredible pizza. Nothing to write home about. My wife had to salt her pasta for flavor. My daughter gobbled up her butter and cheese pasta. So 1+ for this being a family-friendly restaurant. Based on that, we will return. read more

As long as I've lived in Greensboro, I've never eaten here but have always wanted to and always adored their cute restaurant set up right off battleground. So yesterday when I was craving some fettuccine Alfredo for lunch, I ordered takeout because I read other reviews (shout out to TriadFoodNoms) about their easy peasy curbside pick-up on the side of the building where you literally just pull right up and within seconds they come out with your food. When I called the lady was super nice and helpful but what I couldn't believe was the actual price for the build your own pasta - which they offer plenty of options even customizing it down to the seasoning which is a super cool touch! I legit just ordered fettuccini Alfredo with extra Parmesan cheese and it was only $8!! They give you a tasty garlic roll too with your meal and the serving size was good...was able to actually split into two meals. I also appreciated that they put the extra parm cheese in a separate ramekin so you felt/knew you got your extra cheese. The only feedback would be that the Alfredo sauce tasted a little salty so I just added some pepper to my pasta and was all set! Def want to try them again but maybe something different just given the level of service, ease of pick up and variety of options with the BYOP! read more

I went here again and took my mom and my aunt who introduced me here. Last time was so amazing! Kelly, our server, was AMAZING! As weird as this sounds, the fries we got as an appetizer were amazing and the best we have ever had! I ordered the eggplant parmigiana, the vegetable soup that was to DIE for, and the tiramisu to go. They split the lasagna, the carbonara, and chocolate cake and had their amazing margaritas. Everything was so good that you find yourself bitter when you get full! Luckily it heats up nicely. As always, it was beautiful there and you feel at home. Kendall stopped by and talked to us as did the sweet owner/ manager. These servers work SO hard. Please keep in mind that they get paid so little, they don't even see a paycheck and live off of tips. So, if you're gonna be cheap or complain just to get a free meal, I recommend either stop eating out or go to Taco Bell. We all work for money. My Pasta was bland, no flavor at all. The food was cold and the chicken was chewy and tough. It was very dry and flavorless. I built the pasta myself but i had to choose my own spices and seasonings. First time eating here and I was very pleased. You can taste the authenticity of the food-no pre bagged, canned or bottled food here! I could've used a tad more salt in the pasta/sauce but the shrimp was seasoned well so it balanced out. I had spinach fettuccini with cream sauce and shrimp (pictured) and my coworker had "the big easy" which had a lot of black beans but also looked delicious. She said it was. The bread was nice and hot. My only regret was that the meal didn't come with at least a small salad included. Surrounding tables showed orders of salads that looked really appetizing, along with mugs of soup. That may be my next selection when I return which I definitely will. This is a place where I wish I liked the food more than I do. It's been around for many years and I used to go to lunch with a friend here quite often because she loved it. Well she moved away long ago so I didn't visit for years. I decided to check them out again after seeing some good reviews. I had the chicken parm on one visit and penne carbonara on the other. Both were okay. Pasta was cooked well but both were just bland to me. The parm was really just chicken fingers with marinara sauce, a rather sweet version that isn't a favorite. The side salad I received was a very small plate of mixed greens with a few cherry tomatoes. The dressings taste homemade so I'll give them that. If I visit again I may try a sandwich or full size salad. The name should indicate their strength is the pasta dishes but in my opinion, they miss the mark. Service is always great! read more

What truly sets Pastabilities apart are their specials. If you have not eaten lunch here you're missing it. A daily pasta special, daily sandwich special, daily salad special, and best of all, two daily soup specials. Today I had an incredible sandwich with roast beef, pepperoni, tomato and lettuce on a really fresh hoagie roll. I chose their delicious fries for my side. I could not pass up a cup of the homemade mushroom spinach soup - it was amazing! Their homemade soups are the best in town. The Soup Nazi would be split pea green with envy.
