So amazing!!' Empanadas are amazing so cheap so much flavor. Great service. Great hot beverages. Great beautiful sandwiches !!! Came here every morning for a week straight !!!! read more

Their sacher torte, buttercream cake, and bocaditos are delicious but everything is overpriced, the pastelitos need extra filling and their croquetas are gross. read more

Pastries were ok, but why did my cafe con leche cost $3.50? In an area where a good coffee can be had for around a buck, there is just no explanation. read more

Just like the other Gilbert's location I've tried, I have to ask: What is WRONG with the bakers at this place? For my birthday, a friend purchased an assortment of bite-size treats, mostly chocolate. Everything was so soaked in raw rum or vodka that no one could eat more than a bite. I have had rum cakes before, and they are always delicious and the alcohol is cooked so that everyone can enjoy them. This was so disappointing! read more

It was the worst freisier cake i ever had. First $100 for a cake to 20 guest, then you can chew the sugar, just 3 strawberry for all cake....i mean, come on, $100 for this...awful, terrible. I won't come back again read more

I guess this place is a shadow of what it used to be , was in the area & stopped in on the recommendation of my boyfriend's colleague who said it was her favorite Cuban Bakery. Honestly the Vicky Bakery in Miami Lakes blows this place away read more

Delicious filled croissants, croquetas, pastries, and cafe con leche is how my morning visit starts. They have beautiful cakes for Bdays too. Stop by you won't regret it. read more

First time at this particular location. Great service, ladies were very nice and pleasant. My cortadito was right on point. Highly recommend this bakery. read more

I stop by here sometimes on my way to work and i can tell you that they are really good. Like another yelper said, they are a little slow so dont go here when your in a rush for work or anything. The croquettas (yum) are so good. They make mornings just a little better :) read more

We recently used Gilbert's for our wedding favors of mini pies. They were fantastic! We did a mix of the mini apple and key-lime pies. All the guests loved them and we did as well. They made the process hassel free and they delivered the pies to the wedding location. We will use them again! read more

Gilbert's gives croquettes a bad name but their petit midnight sandwiches and chicken fricassee pie wedge are close to perfection. It's a bit pricier than your regular bakery but I find it delivers a better and fresher sandwich than other local Latin bakeries. The Spanish tortilla and stuffed potato are pretty good too. Do arrive early and take a number to be one of the first to indulge in the first fresh batch of goodies. read more

I stopped here to get something for breakfast. There was one customer waiting & there was no employee in the front to help us! After a few minutes one of the employees came & asked for my order. A Cuban toast & an apple juice. It took her 5 minutes to make a toast & when I tried it it was hard with almost no butter on it. This place is overpriced & is not worth it at all. I won't go back. read more

Nice higher class cuban bakery, cafe con leche is good and staff are super friendly. Crosiant with ham and cheese was good, they have pastelitos and sandwiches, but they are smaller than the usual sizes, but pretty good bakery, only a few tables outside. read more

Not the American Dream! Had a ham and cheese sandwich that was supposed to have Brie and prosciutto ham... Got American cheese and some cheap, non prosciutto, ham. Will not be coming back read more

This place has gone down hill. What a shame. This used to be a gem within Miami Cuban delights. The pastries are cheap and flavorless. The guava and cheese pastry was not edible. What is worst the Cuban Coffee is now an off brand and its water and taste bitter. Shame on you Gilberts management on destroying a once great eatery. Everything here is now wanna be "fancy" just because it's close to Coral Gables. Do not waste your money, Miami has many beacons of Cuban culinary deliciousness. read more

The food Is alright. A huge problem is the people who work there and their attitude. All I asked was for one more pastry and she sighed and then started calling me nicknames with real hard attitude. Not going back. read more

I was planning my best friend's 50th Birthday party and went to Gilbert's to order the Hors d'oeuvre and the cake. I wanted them to be different (not guava pastelitos or croquetas), classy, delicious, and well presented. The lady that assisted me perfectly understood my dilemma. Everything was above and beyond my expectations. My guests and best friend all loved them and the cake was delicious. I'm very pleased and would recommend Gilbert's to everyone. Thank you. read more

delicious food and great customer service. Gave my dad a whole platter of goodies from there to help convert him to loving miami more. :D read more

I was in the area and decided to drop in. This location used to be exceptional. Had a poor selection of items, no baked options and mediocre service. Additionally, very over priced. A standard cafe con leche that you wouldn't pay more than $1.50 for at another bakery was $3.75. Then, not only do you have to pay for an overpriced coffee but then you have to wait because there is only one person designated as the cashier. read more

Two thumbs up for Gilbert's Bakery! My daughter's communion cake was not only beautiful and original but it was delicious and moist! All of our guests had only positive comments to share. Almost all had seconds! I love Gilbert's and the family values it represents. I will continue ordering my cakes from here and recommend it to my friends and family! Thank you for helping me create memories for my family! read more

I first was lured into Gilbert's on Bird Rd. while waiting for a table at Mario's, for pizza. There were four of us and, after eating, returned to Gilbert's for take-out dessert. We purchased a variety of pastries and they all looked simply delicious. Much to our dismay, everything tasted the same! Mostly sugar with a slippery fat-feel in the mouth. The chocolate choices had no authentic chocolate flavor and all of us felt we'd been punked by the Crisco fairy. On another excursion, we tried the Gilbert's across from the Falls. Same thing, so we assume the recipes are all the same. There are a thousand bakeries that far exceed Gilbert's. Needless to say, we won't try a third time. read more

This is a nice bakery. Nothing fancy. There is a nice meat-like option alternative. Employees usually don't speak English so sometimes it is hard to communicate. read more

Been coming to this place for as long as I can remember! I have even done big orders for parties. Sad to report that the quality of the food has declined. Might as well drive to another bakery. Even the coffee is terrible. read more

looked promising, but mediocre pastelitos and tres leches (too much cream and tastes a bit off) and flan (milk over egg version but both average)...however, they do have a lot of pretty cakes and party trays read more

They have a vegan pastelito de carne that is to die for!! You have to get them early because they're usually sold out. I seriously end up eating about 5 of them every time I go. Even my mom and boyfriend who aren't vegan think they're really good! read more

This is a very nice place for a quick cuban snack. Good coffee, good cakes and desserts. Maybe some of the desserts are a little higher in price than other cuban bakeries but they are good. The ladies who work here are quick and nice. Even on Christmas eve! read more

Thank god for Gilberts Baker! I called several bakeries for a cake for my mothers 90th birthday and all I got was rudeness and very overpriced quotes with no assistance. When I called Gilberts they were kind, helpful, and i was able to place the order for the cake right away. I long for the days when all businesses used to conduct themselves like this. With some pride and customer service. I highly recommend Gilberts not only for their wonderful service but they have the most delicious cakes, pastries and savory goods. If you find yourself in Miami, dont miss this gem! read more

everything i have tried so far has tasted bad. they make the cafe con leche extremely dark and extremely hot. Their tiramisu was pure rum to the point it numbed my mouth, and nasty old cake-like flavor. I once had the chocolate rum cake and it was pure rum, the red velvet tasted old and stale, another "panatella" i tried was gross. My coworkers and I have tried different things for different occasions since its conveniently located walking distance to our office, but its terrible. The only yummy thing has been a guava-cheese pastelito, and on 2 occasions they gave me the wrong one. they burn the toast too. Soup was canned soup. this place sucks. read more

Went in today for mothers day for two cakes and then decided it was too much cake and wanted to take two only. However, they tried to pressure me into buying the two cakes i did not want! Not only that they did so very rudely! I still had not paid ( had the upper hand) and they wanted to basically make me pay! I still had the choice to turn down both but i was not going to lower myself to their level! All they showed was 0 customer service and desperate for money! I asked if they made all their costumers buy like that and they said yes! If you ask for it you take it! I was like..... never in my life i have heard of this! ... truly disappointing! read more

I ordered a paleo cake for a bridal shower......and it was GORGEOUS! It was exactly as the bride wanted, the perfect color of frosting, which was the color of Tiffinay's blue, and they matched it perfectly. It was a beach theme shower and I wanted a few starfish on it and they made it look classy and gorgeous. The bride and groom said it was the most delicious cake they ever tasted! read more

The service has been horrible. I order a cake 2 days in advance, they even took my credit card information. Once I got there to get the cake they told me that I had to wait in line until it was my turn. Once I order something and you have my credit card information the order should have been paid for and I do not need to wait for an order that I need since the morning. I asked for a cake that would be from 10-12 people and they gave me a cake that's for a single serve only. When I confront they lady at the counter she was super rude and kept cutting me off. Expensive for nothing. I will never go to that place ever again and hope that you guys can read this and don't ever have their service. read more

First of all let me say that my favorite pastelitos are from Gilbert's Bakery and their cake too! However, that was when they had their Gables location (on coral way). I just went yesterday to the bird road location to pick up a cake special, and nothing is the same as the Gables location. The pastelitos don't taste the same and the service wasn't too great. I got there and it was empty, yet I had to wait for 30 minutes for my cake which I had ordered days ahead, and not to mention it was way past my pick up time. I really hope they open a coral gables location again since its way closer to me and with more quick and attentive staff. Till then I won't be back to Gilbert's ;( read more

Used to come here for years for their super flaky pastelitos. Used to be worth the high price. However went today. The pastelitos were mediocre and chewy. Disappointing.... not worth going out of your way. :-( read more

If you are in the market for a wedding cake, dont be fooled!! The so called gallery does not exist. When you go there on Coral Way you will see maybe 6 cakes, not the 30 they talk about on their website. Then they show you a book, some pictures are magazine cut outs. Shop around for prices because they just give you a price and then start adding on. Will never go there again. read more
