Love the fact that they are open till late. We arrived in Yakima on a Friday evening and had a great start to our weekend with wine tasting at Gilbert. The wines were great. We did the regular tasting as well as the reserve tasting. All the wines were brilliant. Our favorite was a Malbec, it had a lot of complexity and depth. Their picnic basket was very cute and made for great snacking with the wine. Overall highly recommended for the wines and ambience.

Sorry for the pic quality, Just showing wines included in tasting

Nice tasting room in downtown Yakima. Tasting fee is $8 (plus tax) to taste 6 wines. 2 Chardonnay and rest are reds. I loved the lightly Oaked Chardonnay. Met some really nice locals here, they were so kind and gave us good advice on wine tasting and restaurants in the area. They also sell local treats and the caramels are the best!! I didn't get a chance to understand how their wine club worked or shipping to other states so didn't buy any.

What a fun Harvest Host stop off for the night. We sat outside in the shade, and thoroughly enjoyed all of their wines! We are red wine lovers, but Gloria promised me the whites were dry. She was right on. Delicious! Tiffany provided us impeccable customer service, and because we frequently make this trip to/from Boise and Seattle, we joined the wine club! Yippee We can't wait to go back!

The website google page & yelp info for this company ALL must be updated. 2 Stars for the very sweet lady who (very politely) told us that wine tastings STOP at 5 pm. Yes, this is standard at many tasting rooms across the nation (I know having been to ones in 12 states), but the information clearly states Open on Fridays 1-9 pm with no mention that after 5 pm it is by the glass only. Sadly, as a wine collector from out of state, we made a special trip here. We are not able to return anytime soon. A miss for this company as we needed to purchase several more types of wine to add (and had not visited others so we would be able to do so....) It is located right next to a good restaurant for meals & houses in a historic building. Very beautiful. Info says 10+ wines available for tastings.

I loved relaxing here with a wine sampler, olives, and a cheese plate with local Yakima flavors. It is so peaceful inside- with warm earthy tones which complements the food. Definitely will recommend for wine tasting and winding down after a busy day.

Wonderful place! Being outdoors in West Valley is simply lovely. Can go visit St. Joeseph's Mission just down Ahtanum from here.

Wine was good, but a pricey place. They don't offer to take off the tasting fees from the bottle. Friendly staff.

We came for a visit around lunchtime on Sunday, and were promptly seated with menus in a nicely shaded spot outdoors. You can truly spend a ton of time here just enjoying the view from the many shaded comfy seating areas outdoors, where you can admire the impeccable landscaping or the landscape itself. It did take a while for someone to come take our order, and we ended up having to wave someone down. If we weren't so hungry we probably wouldn't have been bothered by this at all, given that it's such a pleasant setting. After that, the pace of service was very good and we felt well attended to. We got the taste of treveri flight, a flatbread, a mezze platter, and the cajun fries. It seems based on my last review quite a few years ago that tastings were free then. That is not the case anymore, and most of the flights cost $20. If you buy two bottles of wine, then the tasting fee is waived I think for up to two tastings. Anyway, the flight was great, with a nice variety of sparkling wines that really showcased their range. Our favorites were the blanc to blanc and the syrah. The food was also pretty good, and I appreciated that they actually had substantial food here. I don't know how people manage to go wine tasting and then drive to their next spot without eating a real meal. My husband enjoyed the seasonal flatbread, which featured apples and walnuts. The cajun fries were solid. The chicken skewers and gyro type meat on the mezze platter were quite flavorful and juicy! I liked the variety of vegetables on the platter, although the olives could've definitely been better--they seemed like they'd been sitting in a jar for a while and had lost a lot of their texture. Keep in mind that prices for food here are definitely higher than you might see at a regular restaurant. The flatbread which was approximately the size of a six inch pizza, was $20, and the mezze platter was $35. Wouldn't pay those prices regularly, but since you can't bring in outside food, it's part of the experience here and I would say is worthwhile during a visit.

They bring the wine pre-poured in mini-carafe's (I'm sure there's a proper name for them), and include a "blind" pour that if you guess correctly, you win a prize (which I did not.) The outside area is spectacular, with trees for shade, the views for miles, and the feel of being somewhere special. Service was OK, they bring you pre-poured if you sit outside, and they may check back in on you if they aren't too busy. It seemed our server was on the new side, and she told us 4 times she had only been there a few days. Inside, I think it might be a more traditional experience, but can't confirm. There is also a good-sized seating area inside - and you're able to see the other vintage/varietals available for purchase. Wines by the glass are available, but not for everything, and only for bottles they have already opened. I wanted to try their Sangiovese, but they weren't pouring it, and bummer they didn't have one open to taste - I would have loved to try it. I recommend (based upon my palate) the Abbot's Table and the Sinister Hand (fun background story as well). I didn't care for the rose - it was sweeter than I prefer. Regardless, come visit and you're bound to find something to suit your taste. So why 4-stars? I just have high expectations of servers when I'm tasting wine, and I didn't get the feeling that ours knew the product well, so I didn't feel like I would get much education (which is part of why I, myself, enjoy wine tasting - to learn something new).

From the rolling green hills in the background to the gorgeous landscaping on the lower and main lawns, our guests were in awe of Fontaine Estates Winery. It really did all the heavy lifting when it came to creating a truly memorable and beautiful outdoor wedding. Neither my husband nor myself are from the area, but we wanted to do a wedding in central Washington since the weather is more dependable in late summer compared to our area in Seattle. So we took a real gamble in doing a wedding in Naches with little knowledge of the region and we're so happy it paid off! The memory of the sun setting over our outdoor dinner reception is one that'll stay with me forever. As for Amy, she was a total dream to work with. She was so patient and calmly fielded every question I threw her way from venue logistics to decor rentals to day-of scheduling. And on the actual *day* of my wedding, she was busy overseeing clean-up of the venue, making sure everything was running smoothly with vendors, and even drove a forklift to move our reception rentals from the parking lot to the main lawn for us. She takes real pride in the upkeep and presentation of her venue as well as making sure her clients are taken care of and it really, really shows. Thank you for everything Amy and the team at Fontaine Estates Winery! I couldn't imagine a more perfect outdoor/vineyard venue than this one.
