Gorgeous backyard garden, beautiful tasting room inside. Spacious outdoor roofed seating or sit casually out in the lawn of the garden. Drawback ~ not much for food besides a simple cheese plate. Outstanding wines and service. I stopped here with friends on the recommendation of a few other vineyards and we were not disappointed. These wines were by far the best of our trip (my second trip to Yakima). Andrew was very knowledgable and passionate about the wines. He provided outstanding service and explanations of each wine. He clearly knew his stuff. The tasting fee for 5 wines is $15, but you can add two premium tastings for a total of $20. One tasting fee is waived with a $100 purchase. Their cheapest wine starts at $30, the fee is easy to waive if you fall in love with the wines as easily as I did. The charcuterie was also the best we had out of any other vineyard. Well worth the $20. The ambiance - both indoors and out - makes for a great wedding venue. read more

Just a quick update. We took the plunge last summer and joined the wine club. Of the four clubs we belong to, Sheridan is right up there with Cultura in terms of the wine and the people behind the operation. There are several reasons why I think Sheridan's club is one of the better ones to join. First, the discount on wine for club members is substantial - currently it is 25% off. That is a steep discount for a 10 bottle commitment. This puts their entry level wines like the Mystique and Cab at $22.50 per bottle, which represents a high value for the quality of these wines. Second, the club events are very well put on. The fall pickup party had a great spread of excellent food, including some of Big John's steak. The wine flowed and there was no issue having an extra taste or two of something. Third, their higher tier wines (L'Orage, Block One, Singularity, etc) rate well for a reason. Sit on them for a few years or decant them a few hours ahead of time and let them open up - they need a bit of air when they are young. A small amount of patience will bring a big smile to your face. Finally - the service is among the best of any wine club we're members of. Jenny responds to emails very quickly and the rest of the tasting room staff is very friendly and engaging. Overall - this is one of Zillah's stars and just a no brainer to visit if you like red wine. Pair it with a visit to Cultura down the road and you're all set. read more

Scott and Karen Greer are (and have been for a long time) making some great Washington Wine. They are also fantastic people; very open and easy to talk with and eager to tell you about their wines. Scott has also dipped his toe into the Napa Valley with his Napa Cabernet which is fantastic. (More of that please Scott). Sheridan is our most prolific wine in our cellar;. We get a lot of it and have been since the early 2000's. It is consistently great and I appreciate that consistency in a winery. My favorites are Block 1, Singularity, the aforementioned Napa Cab and the Reserve Cab. I will also always have a spot in my heart for L'Orage as it was the wine that hooked me into Sheridan forever. If you don't have Sheridan in your collection yet, start with a L'Orage as I did over a decade ago and build from there. You won't be disappointed. read more

Beautiful garden grounds with amazing views of the valley. Scott's wine has become a must have favorite for my wife and I, after one tasting we happily became members. His wine is like no other so smooth, rich, bodied and aromatic. My wife and I loved each tasting option along with our added purchases. If you are staying in the area or just passing through, visiting Scott and Sheridan is a definite must do. The staff is personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and laid back. Everything about our experience was amazing, we will be looking forward to making the drive from Bothell, WA again very soon and are extremely excited in hopes to make our first release party soon. I hate to say it but Sheridan Vineyards didn't do much for me. The grounds and the view were beautiful but not the wine or the staff. Once inside you can taste the Kamiakin Wines for free and or the Sheridan wines for $5.00. I started with the Kamiakin Wines since that's where there was an open space at the bar. The guys serving that day didn't provide any information about the wines or the winery when asked; I was just brushed aside after my taste was poured. After being forced to try their white wine which I politely passed on I wasn't in the mood to be here any more. Their white wine was 70% Sauvignon Blanc 30% Semillon and a little on the sickly thick and sweet side for me, I wasn't a fan. I also tried their Red Wine which did nothing for me, and after that I was ready to leave and head someplace that might talk to me and tell me about their wines. If you like to be ignored while tasting mediocre white stop in here otherwise I say pass it up. read more

Outstanding wine, amazing staff and spectacular views from the patio! Jenny and Big John take fantastic and very personal care of their guests and treat us as friends, not just customers. We live in Yakima and this a winery we always bring friends and family to that come to the area to visit! I've loved every wine I've had there; we just finished a bottle of the Boss Block and it was a perfect end to a long day. They have great wines at all different price points and I've enjoyed everything I've had. The chardonnay and La Belle Blonde are prefect summer wines. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

I truly think there are no better wines in Washington. The quality of these wines is outstanding and compares with any Napa wine at 2 to 3 times the price! The L'Orage is a long standing favorite, and I love the story behind it. Do ask them to tell you if you get a chance. We live in Yakima and this is our favorite winery in the area. The reds are outstanding. They make an excellent Chardonnay as well, but reds are their specialty. The L'Orage is unbelievable as is the Cab from Block One! Mystique is a very fairly priced, excellent red as well. Aside from the outstanding wines, this is our favorite place to visit. There is a special member seating area with a great view of the valley and the mountains. The service is beyond spectacular. Big John and Jenny are personable, outgoing, and treat you like family. I haven't been to the actual vineyard, but I have been to their tasting room a couple of times. I think their reds are exceptional. The Kamiakin, I don't know - I didn't taste those... but the Sheridan Syrah, L'Orage, and the Cab Franc are very good wines They even broke out the reserves and let us taste them - they were so wonderful that we joined their club. The people were very friendly, not uptight, and they paired our wine with lamb and other tidbits, which were delicious and went very well with each wine. I read the other review, but it was from 2008. They are relatively new, so perhaps they are just getting better and better as I didn't have that experience at all. The people seem very informative and talked a lot about each wine. I learned so much about wine while I was there. Plus, I think their wines are exceptional. read more
