While out and about with a little extra time, I thought, why not do a little wine tasting. I open up my favorite Yelp app and a Two Mountain pops up. We pull up, and the winery looks very inviting with great tables and a definite Western theme. The staff is very friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about their wines. The tasting for the 5 wines had a $10 price tag and it was well worth it. We happened to come visit during an annual event where the riders and horses get dressed up and visit many of the wineries in the area. Such a beautiful place to kick back enjoy the day. Jeff made our day! What a delightful human being. The setting was lovely, the wine delicious and service unmatched. Again, we aren't white wine drinkers but enjoyed the Riesling. Wasn't overly sweet and was fresh and crisp. The reds were all good, especially the Cabernet and bonus red blend. I can't say enough good about Jeff. Robert Frost once encouraged us to travel the road less traveled. In this case, I decided to follow his advice and visit a winery a bit farther out from town. And I was not disappointed. A 100% estate winery, Two Mountains has one of the best lineups I've experienced yet. Particular praise to their full-fruited yet non-sugary whites. Each one was a treat, including their Chardonnay, a grape I normally pass on. Add in some sweet winery puppies and you have yourself a wonderful experience. Cannot wait to visit again! read more

Stopped in on our way to Walla Walla. Our second time here. The winery was empty since it's winter. We were greeted promptly and offered a tasting. The inside tasting area is comfortable and warm. They were transitioning from Christmas in their decor. They have a nice variety of merchandise for sale. We tried a Rose and three reds. Our favorites were the Show Pony and the Cab Sauvignon. Setting up the appointment was easy; the staff was very responsive and even offered advice on other attractions in the area. The server at our wine-tasting was excellent. We wanted to try both types of flights, and share. He suggested that rather than receive both flights at the same time, to start with one as it would lead naturally to the other. Lovely wine tasting with reasonably priced wine with tasting fee waived upon bottle purchased. Riesling was dry, the chardonnay was surprising with a pretty caramelized buttery finish, and syrah was velvety. Took home a bottle of riesling. It was a sunny yet cloudy day so we couldn't take a photo of the Mt Adams and Mt Rainier from the venue. Very friendly dog. They had cheese / meat packaged snacks available for purchase. Was recommended that autumn is a good time to come for the apple picking and cheese picking in later summer. One caution about GPS route via Google maps. We were coming from Hanford Reach National Monument Park and driving west along 24 west and the GPS took us up an access road that was dirt patch through farm field. At the end, it was a dead end and we had to turn back and figure out a different way to go. The correct way to go is to drive almost all the way to Yakima first before turning in. If you turn into a dirt path that doesn't have a sign of two mountains along with other wineries, don't take that road. It is a dead end. read more

This was our first stop wine tasting in the Zillah area. The lady at the counter was so friendly. She gave me a map and suggested what all we should do and places to eat. Tasting fee is $5 per person and waived if you get wine worth $20. The yelp check in for free reserve tasting was good for one taste of their reserve wines. You still pay the regular $5 tasting fee. Our favorite was their Pinot Grigio, reds were probably not our palate. Nice views of Mt.Rainer and Mt.Adams while we were there. read more

Today was our 2nd visit! We came back after 5 years with great memories of the wine and we were right. This is our favorite. Every tasting was good and there is alway something surprising they came up with. Jeff was our guide through our tasting and we had a great time. 2 Mountain Winery Great Location & Wine! My husband and I visited 2 Mountain Winery on a Thursday. The tasting room is inside what looks like a corrugated metal barn. Inside in the A/C are 2 tasting areas. The rest is where they store all of their barrels (which is pretty cool). We each had a wine flight. The pinot gris was a little sweet, but the rose was super dry and crisp (we bought the mini bottle 3 pack). The reds we tried were also very good I particularly liked the syrah and the cab franc. The lady who helped us was so nice. When we told her this was our first time visiting Washington/wine tasting here she got out a huge magazine which has all of the regions/appelations and circled some of her favs in other areas like Walla Walla. She wrote notes for us as well and gave it to us to keep. I sincerely appreciate her doing that. I will definitely go back to 2 Mountains in the future. read more

These folks make some nice wines. Really nice wines. According to the menu, in their humble opinion, they do Merlot the way it should be done. Often, when wine tasting, I skip Merlot because it's usually not very good. But the friendly gal doing the pouring convinced us that we really needed to taste their Merlot. So we caved and let her pour for us and boy was she ever right! I can't remember the last time I fell in love with a Merlot. In fact, all the wines here are quite good. The Chardonnay was really good. I am not a Chardonnay person but after drinking this one, under the right circumstances, I could be. The Merlot, of course was exceptionally good and the Cabernet was good enough that my girlfriend bought two bottles. This winery is easy to get to and should not be missed. Oh, and there was no charge for the tasting unless you want to try the reserve wines. If you want to taste the reserve wines, those are $1.00 per taste. read more

This was our first stop of our first Central Washington wine weekend, and it did not disappoint! My husband and I both opted for the $5 wine tasting (waived with purchase of a $20+ bottle of wine) and checked in to get an extra free tasting of our of their reserve bottles (read: better and more expensive). Our favorite of the five standards was the Chardonnay - which we bought to take home - and my overall favorite was the Reserve Bros. red blend. So rich and jammy! If you turn around before walking into the tasting room you'll figure out the inspiration for their name, you can see the shadows of Mount Adams and Mount Rainier in the distance, hence the name Two Mountains. I thought it was cute, plus Two Mountain is a family-owned operation. Brothers Matthew and Patrick Rawn purchased Two Mountain Winery and Estate Vineyard from their late uncle's estate in 2006 and are out to put their stamp on the family business. Their grapes are grown in their estate vineyards where they grow and produce Riesling, Chardonnay, Rose, Lemberger, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. While visiting I tasted the Lemberger, Cabernet Franc and Syrah and was impressed with each one, while enjoying the Syrah the best, Syrah are my weakness and there's was a nice peppery one. Though I will add that the Lemberger was a nice light red that could be enjoyed on a warm summer evening while watching the sun set, it wasn't a heavy red so if you're looking for a nice light red check out Two Mountains Lemberger. The wines at Two Mountain are described as being between "classic and modern, casual and elegant" and I have to agree they were. You could save your bottle for a special occasion or have it for dinner with some good friends. Two Mountains is a nice winery to check out while in Zillah and doing the Rattlesnake Hill trail. Oh and I should add they have chalk for the little ones to play with while the adults get their drink on. read more

If you don't love the aforementioned wonderful things, two Mountain Winery is still probably right up your alley. Legend has it that Once Upon a Time Chuck Norris' beard begin to grow grapes. A single drop of 1 grape fell upon the soil of two Mountain Winery and today they have some of the most boss wine in the area This is one of those hidden gems that you tell your friends about because you want these guys to continue to do well, but don't tell everyone about because it will soon be overrun. The lineup since you're wonderful, ranging from a really nice red blend to a plethora of whites. As many others have remarked, the hidden horse blend is a delight! We're also big fans of the Merlot and the Syrah. The roaming dogs here and oh so nice and love kids, giving everyone a reason to come hang out! Did I mention they have sidewalk chalk for tracing around the dogs! A wonderful family owned spot where they serve up great wine and great conversation. This winery is one of the few that are opened later in the evening. So naturally we made this place one of the last stops on our exploration of zillah. I really liked their Rose and the Cab Sav the best. The other wines I thought were very tart tasting. The staff was really nice and friendly. The tastings are free and they have cute little winery dogs, one of which really wants his belly rubbed :D I ended up getting both of those bottles. I would definitely recommend checking this place out since it is free tasting after all. read more

If you are thinking about going here.....GO! Two Mountain Winery has some of the best wine around! The syrah is fantastic, but the true gem here is the hidden horse! If you are a purist then this may not suit you (it's a blend), but this is one of my favorite wines anywhere. It obviously changes a little bit every year, but every year they seem to get it just right! So what makes two mountain different than all of the other places in the area? It's more fun! The staff is great, they've got dogs roaming the area who are all super friendly, there's chalk for your kids to draw on the ground with, fantastic areas to sit outside, and it's just a little more laid-back than a lot of the other places! They also put on some fantastic events. I've been to a few of them and they are always very well done and a lot of fun. You will see the owners, Matt and Pat, coming through on a regular basis. First visit to this place over Memorial weekend. They have a wine tasting menu (5 samples for $5 per person, with the option to put that money toward a bottle of wine of your choice afterward). The staff were very friendly as soon as we walked in. They also let us try a few more samples of the ones we preferred for no extra cost which was nice. The grounds are beautiful, with gorgeous views. We ended up purchasing a bottle of their Hidden Horse, we are not even red wine drinkers, but this red wine was truly delicious. read more

I loved this winery! We were greated outside the tasting room by 2 very friendly laboradors and then 2 more inside! The "bartenders" were very friendly chatting from everything about the wines to the weather and local happenings. Even though large groups came through this tasting room, we didn't feel rushed or like we had to push our way through to get the next tasting poured. There was certainly plenty of room at the bar for everyone. We enjoyed the tastings so much here that we purchased a bottle of the Rattlesnake Hills Hidden Horse Red Table Wine which was our favorite. read more

This has to be one of Zillah's best wineries! We were on the road home on Monday, in search of a winery- any winery- open at 3pm for tastings. Good ol' Yelp to the rescue: I saw Cathy's glowing review... and that was enough for us to hang a left on Cheyne Rd. The folks here are a amazing and the wines are spectacular. I'm a person who doesn't like Merlot... and theirs was fantastic. Their delicious wines have won several awards (gold, bronze, sliver medals) and for good reason. Everything we tried here was incredible. You can really taste each note in every pour. The tobaccos, the vanilla, the boysenberries. You can tell that a lot goes into these bottles. Lemberger, the blend, the Cab, the Merlot, the Rose... even the Riesling (peaches & apricots) was delicious with notes of grapefruit. My personal favorite: the Syrah. Lots of cherry. Spectacular. The tasting room is simple and cute, with some friendly dogs to make your stay that much more enjoyable. The tastings here are free... but trust me, you won't leave without a bottle or 3. read more
